Solver-Cyn calling N "big brother" is so heart-wrenching when you realize that's something the real Cyn had to have done. Because Cyn wasn't corrupted from the start, she was a host, a form to use until another came along. She thought of him as a brother, a protector (remember how Solver-Cyn hid behind him at the gala when they were walking in?) that's something she would have done. And it wasn't just following behind, she was holding on to him, and he let her.

The Solver wouldn't just act differently, not if it wanted to build trust. It knew what would get him to cave, it knew he cared for her. It knew to break him it'd have to break her, then Tessa, V, and countless others before finally getting to him. Because he doesn't care about himself half as much as he cares for the others.
