This one is such a wild ride - let me see if I can put it into words!

I didn't know what nyctophobia was before, and this shows it better than a picture. It portrays the condition intensily: the glimpses of control smothered by the irrational gut-wrenching fear, the intrusive thoughts, the little steps to keep a decompensated mind from snapping. And it's unnerving because even if you're not afraid of the dark, you become self-aware while reading it (I read it at night too - bonus for immersion).

Even if the thought occurs that there is nothing out there, the good news is that there is. Yoongi is menacingly hot in this, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole of the first time reading this. How can you relax when you want to like him but he is the boogeyman?

And then the ending hits. The subversion is wild and out there, hot and powerful; the awe at the end. The actual release of tension because now we're part of the dark and it just took a whole other meaning.

The second reading forsakes the tension for exhilaration - even if you know where it's going, it only serves to elevate the climax. To chuckle when Yoongi chases you because of how sweet and deviant it will be when you're caught. Gosh, to have him chasing and saying, "You're mine." *fans face*

This story is a full package of emotions from start to finish, like fear and lust wrapped with a pretty bow. Hot 🔥

Beg For It

Nyctophobia [ nik-tuh-foh-bee-uh ] - noun Psychiatry: extreme or irrational fear of the night or of darkness.

One…

Two…

Three…

Breathe. Another few seconds, that’s all you want; just precious moments to prove yourself.

Four…

Five…

Six…

Cold chills slither down your spine despite the hot water beating against your back. Your fingers work vigorously against your cheeks and along your forehead. What feels like a thousand pounds settles along your lashes, even though you know it’s nothing more than marshmallowy-light foam.

Seven…

Eight…

Nin—

You spin around, nearly losing your footing in the shower as you angle your face under the spray from the showerhead. The heels of your palms press against your lids as you try to rid them of the foamy facial cleanser.

Air wheezes into your lungs, stray drops of water sucking between your parted lips as you try to breathe against the panic building in your chest. Jerking back from the spray, you open your eyes, wincing at the sting from the water-mixed-with-cleanser that drips from your lashes and floods the corners.

Nothing. There’s nothing there. All you see is the steam-filled space of your shower, water pelting down at your feet, a smattering of bottles arranged on the lip of the tub, and the inside of your plain shower curtain.

You sigh, irritation itching in your chest. Not even nine seconds. You were trying for at least ten. It never fails to leave a bitter taste in your mouth whenever you can’t seem to get a grip on yourself. It’s just the dark. Hell, it’s not even really the dark. It’s just having your eyes closed against the bright fluorescent lights of your bathroom; a pseudo-darkness.

The unease in your stomach refuses to dissipate as you turn off the shower, step out, wrap yourself in a towel, and go through the routine of brushing your teeth and massaging moisturizer into your skin. You hang up your damp towel, quickly pulling on the oversized t-shirt and shorts you intend to sleep in.

Steam clouds the mirror. You don’t typically care to wipe it away, not anymore. It’s one of your small, personal victories—one you intentionally remind yourself of now after your panicked stint in the shower. It used to be that you couldn’t stand not being able to see the space behind you through the reflective surface. Knowing if something lurked outside your line of sight, it couldn’t hide from being exposed through the mirror. Being able to see behind you was all that mattered. Now, you take pride in not needing to see…yet, the niggling in the back of your head won’t cease. So, you swipe a hand, collecting tiny beads of moisture on your palm as you go.

You’re unsure why the act makes your heart beat a little harder. It’s supposed to elicit the calm you so desperately need. But, once you’ve slashed a clear path across the mirror, your brow furrows as you lean in closer to it. Cold dread thunders through your veins as you jerk back, spinning on your heel to make sure what you saw through the mirror wasn’t just your mind playing a trick on you.

Nope, not a trick or even a figment of your imagination…unfortunately.

You stare in paranoid disbelief at the slender gap along the bottom of the bathroom door. The door that leads into your bedroom where you are absolutely, without a doubt, positive you left your bedside lamp on. The gap is dark, like a void threatening to suck you right into an endless nightmare of unrelenting terror. All that’s missing is a gaunt, skeletal hand sliding its too-long fingers under the door.

Shoving away those intrusive thoughts before they can take root and further fester like a dirty wound on your sanity, you try to think logically. It’s possible the bulb in your lamp could have blown, but you know you replaced it just last month. It’s far too soon for it to blow on its own, and surely, it’s not a faulty bulb. So, why is it out? Were you careless and, in truth, didn’t turn it on? A manic laugh gets caught in your throat as you silently berate yourself. That must be it. You simply forgot. So careless.

Fear is an acrid taste on your tongue as you slowly approach the door. You hate this feeling. Even though you tell yourself there’s nothing out there lurking in the dark to harm you, you simply forgot to leave the light on. The distress doesn’t subside—and it won’t. At least, not until you open the door and prove the dark to harbor no ill intent toward you.

Squaring your shoulders and taking what is supposed to be a calming and fortifying breath, though it feels more like sand slipping into your lungs, you wrap your fingers firmly around the brushed nickel handle. The metal is warm, slightly wet from the condensation formed during your shower, against your palm as you twist it.

You lick your trembling lips, taking one more moment to center yourself. Your eyes slide closed as you mentally recall the layout of your room, calculating how many steps there are to get to the nearest light switch. Your bed is angled so the foot faces the bathroom door, and the closet door to the left near the two windows you know are closed tight with the curtains drawn. The bedroom door is easily the furthest from the bathroom, leaving the overhead light out of the question. You knew, before you even began to analyze, that the bedside lamp you recall yourself leaving on is going to be the closest light source. Still, you needed to go through the motion of solidifying that information in your mind.

As you haltingly push it open, the quiet creak of the door, which sounds deafening in the silence of the bathroom, causes chills to pop up along your arms and the hairs at the nape of your neck to stand on end. Darkness ebbs as the light from the bathroom bleeds across the hardwood of your bedroom floor, slowly revealing the interior of your room.

Your heart lurches, and a scream rips from your chest when you see a dark figure sitting at the end of your bed come into focus as the bathroom door swings further open, the handle barely held in your now numb fingers. Panic barrels through you. Your muscles react instinctively, fingers tightening around the knob as you jerk back, the door closing with a harsh bang as you backpedal across the bathroom.

“Babe,” calls a playful voice from just on the other side of the door. You can barely hear it over the roaring in your ears. Nausea threatens to double you over, even as relief floods your system—such conflicting emotions that you feel suddenly off-kilter.

There is a fine sheen of cold sweat clinging to your neck. Your hands fist into the front of your shirt as the door eases open to reveal your boyfriend standing at the threshold. His dark ensemble makes it seem like the bathroom's light bends around his form, not daring to touch him.

You’ve never liked it when someone intentionally scares you, claiming it’s a joke. It always seems more like a cruel prank than a laughing matter. Though, you note, no one is laughing right now either way. He doesn’t look smug or self-satisfied for having scared you, just simply mildly amused.

“You scared me, Yoongi,” you state flatly, crossing your arms over your chest, hoping he picks up on your discomfort.

The corners of his lips turn down, and his brow furrows as he gives you an exaggerated pout. Even with your pounding heart and the upside down in your belly, you can’t help but appreciate how cute he is when he does that. “I know. I just didn’t see the point in wasting the power if you weren’t going to be in there.” He gestures vaguely behind him to your room, which is barely lit by the light pouring out of the bathroom.

It’s on the tip of your tongue to remind him that even though you weren’t in there, he was. Though, for some reason, Yoongi sitting in the dark doesn’t strike you as out of place. In the five years you’ve been together, you’ve learned to love his odd quirks just as much as any other part of him. He’s genuine, a caring person who isn’t afraid to be vulnerable—a far cry from anyone else you’ve ever given your time to.

“How was work?” you ask, aiming to get back on track with some semblance of normalcy—anything to not dwell on the lingering discomfort that’s still beating away in your chest.

His shoulders hitch up in a nonchalant manner. “Same as always. There’s been a big break in the Hunt case. Director Park thinks we’ll have the code cracked in a few more days. I say by tomorrow night, tops, just in time for our date. It’ll be a reward for my hard work,” his eyes twinkle with mirth. “After all, I think Samhain is a pretty fitting day for dealing with evil, huh?”

You make a noncommittal sound at that last part. Yoongi might enjoy that thought, but to you, tomorrow is more so just a day…simply October 31st and is more about plastic pumpkins, like the ones you have sitting on your front porch, than dealing with evil like that. The fact that Yoongi has convinced you to go to a festival tomorrow night is so wild you’ve been forcing yourself not to think about it.

“Well, I’d put my money on you over Director Park any day,” you say instead, giving him a soft, knowing smile. Yoongi has a penchant for estimations. If he thinks it’ll only take another day to crack a code that’s been wreaking havoc on Interpol for the better part of a year, then you believe him. You don’t pretend to understand all the intricacies of what he does; just know he’s really good with computers and helps whichever government agency needs it most or something like that.

Yoongi gives you a lazy smile in return. “Mmm, that’s what I like to hear. Your confidence in me is like kindling for my fervor,” he croons, wrapping you up in his arms. It feels good to relax in his embrace, the last vestiges of your earlier panic melting away as you soak in his warmth and familiarity. “Sorry I scared you,” he murmurs into your damp hair. “Let me make it up to you.”

“What did you have in mind?” you ask, laughing softly when his fingers slip under the hem of your shirt and teasingly caress your sides—the touch is light, making your skin tighten and prickle in response.

A rumbling groan vibrates through Yoongi’s chest as he playfully nips along your jaw before planting his lips firmly over yours in a dizzying and claiming way. “We’ll start with kissing,” the words are whispered between plucks of his mouth against yours, tongue swiping sensually across your bottom lip.

“Kissing is good,” you agree, smiling against his mouth before melting into another heated tangle of tongues and stilted breaths. That fist around your heart eases, letting your chest expand fully for the first time since before you showered.

“Biting,” he murmurs, pulling away from the kiss to bury his face in your neck. The light pressure of his teeth pressing against your skin has your toes curling against the cold tile floor and your fingers fisting into the front of his shirt.

Yoongi plants his mouth right over your pulse point, his tongue flicking over your throbbing vein as his teeth clamp down gently. You swallow hard against the sensation, your heart shifting gears to thud fast in your chest for a different reason. It’s not necessarily fear that drives your senses higher now so much as it is anticipation and an increase in adrenaline—terror adjacent, something you prefer much more to the former.

You shudder against him, knees going weak as he moans, the sound sending pulsing shocks of vibrations down your spine with how his mouth fits against your neck. His fingers ghost along your shorts before finally pushing past the elastic band. The palms of his hands are warm as they slide around and grip handfuls of your ass.

Using his hold on you, Yoongi lifts you up onto the counter beside the sink. As his hands retreat, they tug your shorts with them, working them around the curve of your ass until they’re caught at your knees. You let him push them further until they slacken and fall to catch around your ankles, then onto the floor. Wincing slightly at how cold the counter is against your bare skin, you urge him to fill the space between your thighs, seeking his warmth flush against you once again.

“Yoongi,” you hiss, sucking in a sharp breath as he slides a hand between your bodies and presses the flat of his fingers against your pussy. You don’t need to look in the mirror to know his teeth have left an impression on your neck. He leans back and licks his lips in a show of appreciation, lidded eyes full of mischief and barely veiled lust. “Please.” It comes out warbled as he teases his middle finger between your lower lips.

“Beg for it,” he says. “Show me how much you want me to make you forget about the darkness.” His voice has an edge, like he’s teasing at something, but it’s lost on you to piece together what it might be.

Sucking in a deep breath, you repeat your plea, “Please.”

Your chest is rising and falling rapidly, and you can feel your erratic heartbeat pounding between your legs and under the sensitive skin of your neck that Yoongi ravaged with his teeth. Lightheadedness kisses the edges of your clarity, daring you to get lost in the delirium that Yoongi is offering.

“You can do better than that,” Yoongi taunts, his laugh low and husky as he pulls away, leaving you bereft of his touch where you want it most. “Beg. For. It.” The words are clipped, punctuated with staccato taps of his middle finger against your sensitive clit.

“Fuck—Yoongi, please! Please, I need you!”

“That’s my girl,” Yoongi smiles wickedly. Two slender fingers sliding into your wet heat are your reward. “You’re so wet already. Look at how your body is pulling me in. Fuck, that’s nice.” He angles himself so you can both look down and watch his fingers slowly pull out, glistening with your arousal before sinking back in.

Your body squeezes around his fingers, walls fluttering in anticipation and building pleasure. “Need you,” you mumble, grabbing at the button on the front of his dark wash jeans with one hand and tugging at the bottom of his black t-shirt with the other. “Fuck me, Yoongi, please. Please, fuck me. I need you to make me forget.”

A flurry of motion accompanies his answering growl of approval as he helps you strip him out of his clothes and the rest of your own. You barely feel the absence of his fingers in your cunt before he pulls your ass to the edge of the counter and shoves his cock inside with a guttural moan that echoes in the small space.

The fit of him inside your body is deliciously perfect, like he was made to please you. Your fingers press dents into his shoulders as you grip him tightly. One of his hands squeezes your hip to keep you from slipping off the counter while the other finds its way to having a light grip on your throat.

His forehead rests against yours, the back of your head pressed against the mirror behind you. The angle makes his thrusts shallow, forcing the crown of his cock to rock against a sensitive spot deep inside that has you seeing spots behind your closed lids.

Yoongi has always been a contrasting lover, hot and cold, in a way that always leaves you breathless and assuaged. The look on his face says he’s fucking you, but the sensual roll of his hips says he’s making love to you—the hand on your throat says he just wants to control you. Regardless of how he fucks, it always consumes you. From the first time to now, he wholly and utterly devours your sanity and spits it back at you two-fold. He brings you palpable lucidity while also destroying all sense of right and wrong. Some call it morally grey; you call it just another titillating facet of who he is.

Pleasure builds fast, and you know you’re about to tip over the edge when the pressure of his hand on your throat increases. It’s an infinitesimal change, but it feels like the tightening of a vice all the same.

The erratic beat of your heart stutters further, swallowing you down into a thick-headed spiral of trepidation. You know Yoongi won’t hurt you. It’s not that—not quite. It’s the idea and knowledge that he could. It’s a taboo feeling, craving that helpless flutter deep in your belly that dares you to indulge in the darkness instead of running from it.

Yoongi’s hips continue to roll against you, your body pinned in place by his hand on your throat. Your eyes flutter open just to fall shut again as the hand on your hip moves until his thumb presses against your clit, making your body jerk and hurtle back toward the precipice of pleasure from before.

With his thumb pressed against one throbbing artery in your neck and the pads of his fingers against the twin on the other side, he has complete and utter control over you. All it takes is another barely-there squeeze to have you changing your grip from his shoulders to his forearm.

The bitter taste of cowardice laces together with the cloyingly sweet, carnal flavor of lust that’s coating your insides. Yoongi rumbles, a moan low in his chest. The rhythm of his hips kicks up until they’re hammering against yours to the point that measures of pain mix with the terror, forming into a rapture of exhilaration. His thumb coaxes your orgasm through precise flicks over your swollen clit.

You can’t help the sound that rips from your throat, squeezing past his grip in a ragged mockery of a moan—bright colors spiderweb across the backs of your closed lids as you sip from his chalice of wickedness. White noise joins the rush of blood in your ears as somewhere in the deep recesses of your mind, alarm begins to bleed into the hazy euphoria clouding your head. “Yes!” Yoongi groans. “That’s it, fuck!”

“Y-yoon—“ you try to choke out his name, fingers trembling from their tight grip on his forearm. Just as you’re about to try and shove him away to get a reprieve, his hand loosens its hold on your throat, and the instant rush of oxygen to your brain washes away all other thoughts as your body surrenders once again to his dominion. The orgasm tears through you, sweeping you out in a hedonistic riptide. Your walls clamp around his cock so hard he snarls and shudders with the trigger of his own release.

You must have blacked out from the overwhelming cascade that besieged your senses because the next thing you’re aware of is Yoongi tucking you into bed beside him. The sheets are cool against your heated skin, a welcome lull of relief. He presses into your sated body, chest against your back and arm possessively curling over your hip. “Get some sleep, my queen,” he murmurs. “I’ll hold the darkness back.”

The room is dark, just as it was earlier when you panicked. But, just as always, when Yoongi is around, it’s less frightening…seemingly somehow less dark and foreboding. He might have darker desires when it comes to pleasure, but right now, he’s the light that chases away your other demons.

Yoongi

The taste of your fear still lingers in the back of Yoongi’s throat as he pretends to sleep curled around you. He knew turning off your bedroom light would scare you. It’s why he did it. The peckish feeling that rumbled in the pit of his stomach drove him to want to play with you. Your fear instantly sated his hunger, and it made his dick hard when you screamed. You scream so prettily he just can’t help that natural, primal response.

That is, after all, precisely why he chose you. Everything about you speaks to his needs, promising sweet and succulent fruit that’s always ripe for plucking.

He learned early on that if he could elevate your heart rate and incite a sliver of fear in you while fucking you…well, his full belly is testament enough to how much he loves that. You call it a kink, he calls it dessert. It wasn’t his intention to fuck you after he frightened you, but the irritating erection grating along his zipper had other plans.

His mortal form isn’t his favorite. It’s far too small and has far too many baser needs and limitations. Though he does enjoy the feel of your soft, pliant flesh under his—especially when you’re ripe with the sweet smell of terror—it makes it worth the discomfort this inferior mode has.

It’s not lost on Yoongi that he could have ruined you from the start by taking too much from you. But he’s been careful over the years, molding and training your body to be the perfect vessel for him to feed from. The fact you were already experiencing high anxiety and an innate fear of the dark prior to him coming into your life helped tremendously. Nyctophobia is such a beautiful thing.

You claim he’s helped you, for the most part, get over your fears. However, he knows this is just a lie you tell him and yourself to make yourself feel and seem braver. He knows the truth, though. There is no getting over your fear, not when it lives with you…sleeps next to you, touches you, fucks you. He’s everything you’re scared of, everything you think is creeping around in the dark, waiting to pounce. He’s your worst nightmare…literally as much as figuratively—and you have absolutely no inkling of that truth. All you see is what he lets you see: just a sweet guy with a penchant for darker tastes behind closed doors.

To you, he’s just Yoongi. But he has had many names over the centuries: Demon, Baba Yaga, El Coco, Butzemann, Tikoloshe, Bogeyman, and so on. All of them are generally the same, but none are quite right. He is all these things, and yet none of these things—he’s so much more.

It’s a common misconception that he only targets people who do misdeeds. That’s not it at all, for the sweetest fruit is the unwary, the innocent, the vulnerable, and the scared. That is the pinnacle of his desire, the unctuous delight that feeds his depravity and gives him power over the darkness—darkness that calls to him now.

Being careful not to wake you, Yoongi slips out from around your soft, lush body. Feeding on your fear in the bathroom drained some of your vitality, lowering your constitution, and the best recovery for that is a good, uninterrupted eight hours. So, he’ll leave you to replenish so that he may feast once again—one last time before he executes his final, ultimate plan; the whole reason he chose you to begin with and has been periodically parading around in this limited meat suit for years.

The maw of darkness under your bed beckons him to shake off the mortal form and take his rightful place as King among the shadows. Yoongi catches his reflection in the standing mirror across the room. The only thing distinct is the brilliant red eyes staring back at him. It feels good to stretch and dissolve into his proper form, shadows snaking along his limbs and filling his every breath.

You fidget on the bed, brow furrowing as your body reacts to the nearness of his proper form. He likes watching you twitch and shift, soft mewls of fright sounding low in your chest. If he wanted, he could swallow you whole, and you’d never be the wiser, one moment existing in your nightmare and the next slithering into the ether of what comes after. But, it’s not time…not yet.

Letting one of his long, spindly shadow fingers draw back in and reform into the echo of human flesh, he presses the blunt tip against your temple. You instantly quell your movements, and the pitiful cry in your chest subsides. Yoongi can feel the subtle tremble of your body, the vibrations skittering through your flesh as your body recognizes his hellish touch. Your subconscious is as familiar with his umbral form as your conscious is with the lies he’s used to frame how you see him with your eyes.

Digging through the screen of your nightmare, he pulls back the darkness and lets in just enough light to lull you into a false sense of security—something he does nearly every night after he’s fed from you so he doesn’t accidentally drain you dry. By the time he returns, the light will have faded from your dreams, and there will be just enough unfettered distress permeating the air of your bedroom to give him a top off of delicious fear, his own personal cup of pick-me-up.

Yoongi slides under the bed and into the darkness, leaving you to your deep, lambent dreams. He melts through the barrier between your world and his. Euphoria buzzes through him as his depth of power increases. That’s the biggest downfall of walking the mortal plane. There aren’t quite enough shadows or stinking fear to fill the neverending void inside him. But here, in the Realm of Darkness, the taste of terror is thick and nectarous. It lingers in the air and is as permanent as the oxygen you breathe in your world.

Yoongi drifts through the firmament of his domain, letting the worries and stress of what’s to come fade. For a being with endless power and control, he never thought he might have the need to be concerned over something seemingly so trivial. But, the ceremony and ritual he has planned for tomorrow night is easily the most critical thing he’s ever dared to accomplish.

The Realm of Darkness might be sufficiently filled with succulent fodder for him, but there are other limitations he encounters. Constraints that involve the worlds beyond his Kingdom. He doesn’t want just to be able to thrive here on his own turf. He has aspirations of letting his darkness seep into the outer realms—including yours—and if he has his way, you will help him do just that. The barriers will crumble, and he’ll be free to bathe the distant realms in his thick ichor of destruction.

Finally feeling more like himself, he aims for the Shadow Spire, where waits the Throne of the Damned—his throne. All it takes is a simple thought, and he’s standing in the sprawling cavern of the throne room. It stretches wide in all directions, having no end or beginning, just existing as his will needs.

Pillars of malachite soar into the air at equal intervals, disappearing into the glittering cosmos expanse above his head. Silvery flecks of light cast the whole room in a mockery of the night sky of your world, something he’s grown to admire over the years spent there. Yoongi takes a deep breath, soaking in the tangy, bitter stench of brimstone and copper. Soon, he hopes, your delectable perfume of fear will join them.

“Sire,” a gruff voice says in surprise. “We weren’t expecting you back until the ritual. Welcome, is there anything we can do for you?”

Yoongi settles his shadowy form on the monstrous broken stone pillar at the top of the dais that rises from the rocky floor. His court, ever vigilant in their duty to him, wait for him to respond. “Is everything prepared for the ceremony?” he asks, eyes finally landing on the six figures seated on the smaller stone plinths arrayed in a semi-circle in front of him—the Shadow Court once again complete with his return. Hopefully, he won’t have to leave the comfort of his court but one more time. Once the ritual is done, he shouldn’t have to so much as lift a finger to reach into the overworld.

“All is well and ready, Sire.” Wicked smiles spread like wildfire across the court. They’re just as excited as Yoongi is to be finally moving forward with the plan. None of them have tasted the kind of fear that Yoongi has feasted on from you—the fresh terror of the mortal realm—but if they had more corporeal forms, he knows they’d be salivating. Soon, so very soon.

Looking around at his companions, he can’t help but think how humorous it is that you so readily believed his deceptions about working for the human government. He remembers the day he finally stepped from the shadows and made himself known to you. You were immediately drawn to him and couldn't stop yourself from indulging in your curiosities like a moth drawn to a flame.

Yoongi had already come up with an elaborate backstory and characterization for the human he wanted to portray. He knew all of your deep, dark fantasies and brought them to life. Your eyes got round with awe and reverence when he first revealed his supposed job, confirming how gullible and under his spell you were. He can’t deny it’s worked in his favor.

He’s allowed to keep odd hours and disappear as needed. When he returns to your bed before the sun rises, he’ll leave you a note on your pillow about being pulled away for work. You’ll read it and sigh a dreamy sigh as you have every other time he’s done that. You never bother to seek further explanation—your trust in him is so wholly concrete.

There is satisfaction in the freedom you’ve granted him to embrace a darker side. It’s how he can get away with fucking you so callously that your brain warps it into some deranged form of love. You’ve chalked every depraved thing he’s done to you up to him needing an outlet after dealing with such heinous stuff for work. He only had to mention a few well-known acronyms, like FBI and CIA, and you accepted it. As scared as you are of the dark, he’s aware of the collection of slasher and horror novels you keep stuffed away under your bed and that you listen with rapt attention to those silly crime shows and podcasts that tell you he’s not the one you should be scared of. Soon, he won’t have to worry about any of that, though—no more silly backstory, no more hiding, no more stuffy mortal form, no more holding back. Tomorrow signifies a change, a new beginning. It’s the time when the veil between the worlds will be thin enough that he can drag you down without it sucking your life away. Some call it Samhain, Calan Gaeaf, Mischief Night, Halloween—it holds nearly as many names as Yoongi himself does—but for him, it will be the night he calls triumph. The night his shadows will lay a claim to you wholly; the night you stop fearing what goes bump in the night and instead stand by its side and let it consume you.

Wicked Delight

Consciousness comes in fits and spurts of clarity. There is a moment where you’re asleep but aware. With this awareness, you can discern and feel the potent darkness webbing across your subconscious. You’ve seen it before, the myriad of inky tendrils that zig-zag through the light like fissures over a dried river bed. It scares you but also fills you with intrigue so rich it nearly eclipses the fear.

You know that if you could just hang on to that in-between space, the feeling of teetering on the edge of a knife, you could examine the darkness further and figure out what it is and where it comes from. But your body has other plans, sucking you away from your inspection and pushing you toward uneasy wakefulness.

Shifting under the blankets, a crinkling noise draws your eyes open to land on a rumple of white paper lying beside you on the empty side of the bed. With fumbling fingers, you grab the ripped leaf of creamy parchment and turn it so you can see the blue scrawl of words.

Got some darkness to take care of. Can’t wait to see you tonight. Don’t forget; 11 pm sharp, beginning of the corn maze. X

There is no name signed to the note, just an X, but you know who left it, regardless. You roll over, holding the thin paper above you so you can see the faded, faint print under his ink. A smile tugs at your lips when you realize it’s a corner ripped from Kinder und Hausmärchen, one of Yoongi’s favorite books. He has an original first edition that he’s let you moon over a few times. The first time you found a note and saw what it was written on, you nearly crawled out of your skin to berate him for ruining such a prize. He gently chided you for your reaction and assured you it was just a copy, scanned and printed for the whimsy of it.

Looking closer, you see the corner is from a page of the Cat and Mouse in Partnership tale. Your smile fades, turning into a mild frown as an odd feeling ghosts beneath your skin, eliciting goosebumps to pop up along your arms. Sighing, you shake your head and pull the blanket up high under your chin, chalking the sensation up to being cold. Your eyes rove around the room, taking in the early morning light filtering in through your thin curtains, showing you just enough of the inside of your room to be comfortable with not having a light on.

Finally deciding there’s no point in dallying in bed further, you toss back the covers and brace yourself against the chill in your room. Only, it’s not as cold as you were anticipating. Opening the small drawer on your nightstand to deposit the message in with the dozens of others Yoongi has left you over the years, you can help but smile. They’re sweet, little pieces of him that affirm to you why it’s okay he disappears the way he does. The reminder comforts you, especially on this day.

Halloween has never been your favorite. Well, that’s not true, exactly. You do like Halloween—just the modern and more mainstream version with candy, pumpkins, and warm, spiced drinks. Fall colors are also something you enjoy. The cooler air is nice. You’re partial to cozy sweaters and boots, too.

All in all, you enjoy this time of the year. You just don’t necessarily like the darker parts, the scarier parts. Haunted houses and scary movies are things you could do without unless it’s under very specific circumstances. Such as having Yoongi there. Which is the only reason you’ve agreed to meet him at the festival tonight. You haven’t been since you were a teen and got so scared by the fright actors that you swore never to return.

Except, now, you are returning. It’s been on the tip of your tongue for the last week to cancel on Yoongi, feigning a head or stomach ache. But, the sheer excitement in his gaze when you agreed, has been enough to make you bite your tongue every time a protest bubbles up. You can—and will—do this.

With an entire day to go before your date with Yoongi, you busy yourself with mundane tasks. A bit of cleaning, some light reading, and lastly, dumping a few bags of assorted and prepackaged candies into a bright orange bowl with a goofy jack-o-lantern face printed on the side.

You’re usually a porchlight-off kind of person. Still, this year, considering your own venture outside your proverbial Halloween box, you decided why not go the extra mile for others, too? Even if one kid dumps the entire bowl into their treat bag, you’ll at least feel somewhat accomplished in your attempt.

Setting the bowl on your doorstep, you stand back and survey it. The yellow-tinged porch light illuminates the candy and the plastic pumpkins you have arranged on either side of your door. You contemplate adding a ‘please take only one’ sign for the bowl but decide a paper warning isn’t much of a deterrent. Leaving the candy to its fate, you head back inside to finish getting ready.

Time flows in a weird, out-of-body kind of way. You’re aware of pulling on your coat and walking into your garage through the kitchen—even the process of driving to the festival registers in your mind. But, you’re genuinely not cognisant of what you’re doing until you’re staring at the large flashing sign for the festival. You have to practically put on blinders to make it through the ticketing process, ignoring the scare actors as you wait in line.

The corn maze is at the center of it all, meaning you keep your eyes glued to the ground as you skirt the edges of the food stalls and game stands until you reach it. There, you wait, standing at the start of the corn maze and stare at your watch, counting the seconds as they tick by with the small hand.

The air is cool, the crisp scent of fall heavy around you. Laughter and faint screams carry to you from the festival surrounding the maze. The giant corn labyrinth is the center of the entire two-week-long event. Thousands of people flock from near and far to venture within the husked, cream-colored stalks.

If you make it through the maze without assistance from the scare actors, then you get an entire bucket of caramel popcorn drizzled with chocolate. That’s never been enough of a reward for you to try. Even the last time you were here, you never stepped foot into the clustered embrace of the maze.

The festival is lit enough with all the twinkling lights and fair games lining the thoroughfares and the midway. Food trucks and stalls litter through the vendors with stuffed animals and cackling clowns. You try to ignore the bodies that sway and shamble through the crowd—the scare actors. They’re just people dressed up in costume and makeup, but they still elicit that flighty feeling in your belly, that little trickle of fear.

At the ticket booths, there were neon green necklaces you could purchase. You used them as a distraction while you waited in line. They’re ‘no scare’ necklaces, big bright indicators that you’re a sensitive little bitch that doesn’t want to be scared. At least, that’s how you felt looking at them, considering buying one. You know they’re an extremely valid item, a protective emblem that many people need, and that it’s perfectly fine—in fact, it’s encouraged for people to use them if they need to.

As you fingered the green nylon of the lanyard, you couldn’t help chewing your bottom lip, worrying at it until it cracked under your teeth and the coppery tang of blood danced across your tongue. You almost bought it…maybe you should have. However, the fact that you’re half-hidden by the corn maze sign and doing everything in your power not to draw unwanted attention to yourself seems to be keeping you from attracting the actors your way.

Bump In The Night | MYG

The tiny hand on your watch ticks away, drawing closer to turning over the minute, which'll turn over the hour to 11 PM. Sharp. Yoongi’s insistence. Just as the hands come together on your watch, you feel that telltale tingling feeling of eyes on you. It’s a familiar sensation, one you often associate with Yoongi. Daring to step out from behind the sign to the corn maze, you spin in a slow circle, trying to catch sight of him.

“Looking for someone?”

You have to clamp a hand over your mouth to muffle the shriek that rips from your chest as those words drift in from right behind you. So close that it’s impossible to imagine you hadn’t noticed him approaching you as you looked around.

“Yoongi,” you sigh, dropping your hand.

He's enveloping you from behind before you can turn around and give him a pouty yet stern look. His familiar musk and warmth ease your heart back from its hammering gallop. “You’re good enough to eat,” he gruffly murmurs, pressing his nose into the fabric of your coat at the juncture of your shoulder and neck. You can feel more than hear his deep inhalation, as if he’s drawing in the scent of your very soul and branding it throughout his olfactory system.

“The maze closes in an hour. Are you sure we can make it to the center before then?” you ask, voice light and airy as relief infused with drips of serotonin weaken your knees and your resolve to be upset with him for frightening you. You turn in his arms, keen to look upon his face for another kick of comfort, but it sours in your belly when you take in his pulled-up hood and the thick black gaiter covering the bottom half of his face. “What’s that for?”

Yoongi shrugs, shoulders lifting in his typical nonchalant manner. “It’s Halloween. Consider me dressed for the occasion.” He winks at you, but it does nothing to quell the unease still rolling around just beneath your surface. Feigning that stomachache is starting to sound more and more appealing, Yoongi’s excitement be damned.

“You look like a burglar.”

You can’t see his smile, but you can tell it’s there by how his eyes crinkle and lids lower mischievously. “And you look ripe for the burgling.”

“You’re insufferable,” you gripe teasingly, finally letting a smile grace your face despite the lingering anxiety. It’s easy to forget your fears and worries when you’re looking into his umber-colored gaze.

“Come on, let’s go.” Yoongi offers you his elbow, and you tuck your hand into the crook of it, leaning your shoulder against his arm.

The fleece-lined leggings you chose to wear keep you warm enough, paired with the knit sweater and thick tweed coat covering your top half. Your chunky boots are comfortable and practical for the slightly uneven terrain of the cornfield-turned-maze. Yoongi is far more casual in just jeans, the hoodie, and a pair of dusty and worn sneakers.

You study his face the best you can past the edge of his hood and out of the corner of your eye. He’s just as handsome as always. Even the black fabric covering the bottom half of his face doesn’t detract from his allure, which seems to be intensified by the deepening darkness around you as he leads you through the maze entrance.

A festival worker stands off to the side in full-on farmer-gore. Their overalls are covered in faux viscera, and there is a bloodied sling blade dangling from their off-hand as they beckon you and Yoongi forward with their other.

“Tonight's savior phrase is ‘Pumpkin Guts’, yell it out if you need assistance navigating the maze, and a helper will assist you,” he offers before turning to the next patron approaching a few feet behind you and Yoongi and giving them the same information.

“Pumpkin Guts,” Yoongi scoffs with a quiet laugh. “Surely they could have come up with something far more fitting than that.”

“I find it kind of nice. The childish charm of it helps make a situation like getting lost in the maze less scary, don’t you think?”

His eyes look more onyx now that you’re within the maze, the only illumination coming from tiny, sparse fairy lights. They catch your gaze, and you see a smile tilt up the corner of Yoongi’s mouth. “That’s adorable.”

“What?” you laugh, feeling heat crawl into your cheeks.

Yoongi shakes his head, his smile growing. “You always find the good in everything. It’s one of the things I like most about you.”

All the residual anxiety from earlier bleeds away with just that singular statement. You press in closer to Yoongi and angle your face up in silent request, to which he immediately obliges. He hooks a finger in the lip of his gaiter and pulls it down so he can slant his mouth over yours. His lips are warmer than usual, his breath carrying faint hints of bourbon as he teasingly slips his tongue through the seam of your lips. All too soon, he’s pulling away, leaving you with just that small taste of him. The gaiter slides back into place, and he nods ahead of you. “The quicker we make it to the center, the quicker you get the surprise I have waiting for you.”

“A surprise?” you ask, thoroughly intrigued.

His affirming hum in response turns into a soft chuckle as you eagerly quicken your steps, tugging him along beside you. As someone who isn’t partial to being shocked or scared, it’s perhaps a bit ironic that you love surprises of the unknown. They just have to be the right kind—like one from Yoongi; er, well, at least the ones that don’t involve him sitting on your bed in the dark as you open the bathroom door or so you tell yourself—but you digress.

Though, perhaps there is a bit of enjoyment from those kinds of surprises, too. In a twisted, semi-fucked up way, the surge of adrenaline is like a counterweight to the dopamine response from your amygdala that follows any time you get frightened. The perfect balance of emotions. The fight or flight reflex makes your body feel like it’s keyed up with extra energy, leaving you feeling like you’ve just run a mile or fucked for an hour. It’s maybe a little unhinged to salivate over those small sips of terror secretly. Does that make you a masochist?

You’d almost think Yoongi picks up on your inner thoughts with the way he makes an amused sound in the back of his throat and gives you a sidelong, knowing look. Something tingles beneath your skin, an electric feeling akin to loose ambitions. It seems tonight won’t be so bad after all.

The crunch of dried corn husks and hay accompanies the occasional scream or laugh echoing from various points in the maze. You’ve only led Yoongi to a dead-end a handful of times so far, but the anxiety at not having found the center of the maze yet is starting to mount.

“I can feel your stress in the tension in your hand,” Yoongi muses softly. “Relax, you’ll get your surprise.”

“What if they close the maze before we make it to the center, though?”

“They won’t.”

You cut a quick glance at him. He looks smug. “You seem so sure, but from my count,” you shift your attention to your watch, “we only have fifteen minutes before the festival closes, and I’d guess we’re nowhere near the center yet.”

Yoongi shrugs. “I may have paid the vendor to let us stay as long as we need.”

“You did what?”

“Tonight’s special,” Yoongi tugs you to a stop, his hands engulfing yours, and gives you a pointed look. “Very special.” The thumb of his right hand grazes over the expanse of skin above the knuckle on your left ring finger. “Now, let’s go find the center…and your surprise.”

A new sensation trickles in–excitement. Your heart patters faster as you turn and haul Yoongi on with renewed vigor. Gone is any trepidation; in its place, nothing but giddy and barely veiled anticipation. And to think, you’d almost been silly and canceled on him.

🖤🖤🖤

Yoongi

Yoongi wasn’t exaggerating when he said you look good enough to eat tonight. If only you knew how close to an accurate statement that was. He’s had a constant flow of moisture seeping into his mouth since he laid eyes on you standing behind the wooden sign for the maze. He had just finished setting up the surprise for you in the center, utilizing his natural form in order to move quickly without being seen.

All the implements he needs await him at the maze's center. The theatrics of it all are only for fun. He could have simply taken you without them. But he’s always been partial to playing with his food before devouring it. The pungency of your anxiety as you waited was a delightful appetizer to what is sure to be a satiating main course.

Every time you make a wrong turn in the maze, Yoongi can feel the tension in your muscles and the momentary disappointment that flavors your scent. It’s amusing watching you shuffle your feet and grumble under your breath before turning and backtracking.

It’s not lost to him the amount of uncertainty you’ve had ever since he asked you to go with him tonight. Not that he would have given you a choice in the end; he’d have taken you by force if needed. But he’s a passive creature at best, so the less work he has to do, the better.

Using the ruse of there being a surprise waiting for you isn’t entirely untrue. Though, the treat he’s confident that he’s planted the idea of in your head is far different from what’s actually going to happen. He’s spent enough time in the mortal realm to know what you’d have interpreted from him stroking that particular finger with the right look in his eye. Your heart had gone into a frenzy of thick, heavy beats, and your eyes had lit up with wonder.

Yeah, he’s pretty sure he knows what’s driving your feet to move as quickly as they are now. It’ll just make the disappointment taste that much sweeter. Over the five years he’s been administering to you, molding you into the perfect vessel, he’s learned the small nuances that make you tick. Whether it’s for eliciting fear or excitement, desire or anguish, he knows exactly how to produce the results he wants.

“Ugh,” you grumble for the dozenth time when you turn a corner and come to another dead end. “This is impossible. How can you find enjoyment in these things?”

Yoongi smirks. “It’s quite analytical if you really want me to answer that.” The way your nose wrinkles when he says that is positively adorable. “Come on, I’ll help you out.”

You gleefully cede the lead, letting him guide you back and toward a different direction entirely. You’re still excited, bubbling with positive anticipation, even though you’re no longer playing the game, per se. It’s interesting how you so quickly relinquish the hunt—he’d never.

The noise of the festival and maze has long since fizzled away. He didn’t actually pay the attendant. He’s just using some of his ability to mask your presence from anyone who might get in the way. Some of the lights from the midway are still going, and a few rides are lit up. However, the deeper Yoongi leads you into the labyrinth, the darker it becomes. He’s confident you’re so wound up that you don’t even notice how his shadows grow and stretch along the narrow walkway around you.

“Oh, look!” You excitedly point at the opening that comes into view at the end of the row. “I can smell the popcorn. Did that bribe include a bucket waiting for us, too?”

Yoongi has no idea if there is popcorn waiting, but he imagines you’re only smelling the lingering scent. He can’t detect anyone else within a hundred-meter radius around the maze. If the prospect of popcorn makes you happy, then sure. “Of course it did. We’ll need a snack once I’m done with you.” Which mostly isn’t true, though he can’t be sure. Yoongi has never shadow-turned a human before, much less taken a mate in the process. You might be ravenous by the time he’s done; though, he’d bet it won’t be popcorn you’ll be craving.

There is a distinct moment where Yoongi can feel the shift in your demeanor. Your excitement dips into confusion as you take in the finish line area that’s deserted of anyone and anything other than the large 10 ft square structure he erected in the middle. The raw malachite plinths are so dark the lindworm-colored stone seems to absorb the illuminance around them, turning the gateway into a giant pit of darkness that devours the faint twinkling lights. Shadows bleed from the open space between the pillars, reaching for their master.

Yoongi’s blood sings with desire as fear trickles in with the confusion. “Yoongi,” you whisper his name, and it warbles from your lips oh so beautifully. “What’s that?”

“That’s your future, my love.” He untangles himself from your grip, circling you like a predator. “Now, run!” he snarls from right behind you.

You don’t even scream when he shoves you forward, your arms windmilling and boots tripping over the scatter of dried corn husks before you topple headlong between the pillars. The last thing he sees before the waiting shadows swallow you is the whites of your eyes as you throw a panicked look over your shoulder at him.

It’s mildly disappointing that you didn’t even so much as grunt or give him any sort of satisfaction that you’re petrified other than the cloying perfume of your terror that settles on his tongue when he huffs in irritation. Hopefully, when he follows you through the gateway, you’ll already be on the run because he’s in the mood to play a while longer before he shatters the world as you know it.

Bump In The Night | MYG

Yoongi wants you to recognize him, so he only casts off some of his mortal form, choosing to keep his face and most of his body intact. What changes is his size; he grows larger, arms and legs longer, fingers more like talons, and eyes the dark red of fresh blood.

He knows he looks monstrous, even more so with the cloth still covering the lower half of his face and the hoodie now ripped and hanging from his physique. As soon as he slides through the barrier of the gateway, he’s met with that euphoric sound he hoped for earlier. Your scream rends through the thick, stale air of the Realm of Darkness, music to his ears.

“That’s my girl,” Yoongi crows, his voice gravelly and distorted by his natural form. He inhales deeply, sucking in your dismay's succulent and divine fragrance. “Fuck.”

You scream again as he steps toward you, which spurs you into gaining your feet, not even caring to look at the soot-like substance caking your hands and knees. Yoongi can only imagine the thoughts warring inside your pretty little head right now. Wild fear makes your eyes flick frantically around before you choose a direction and sprint at breakneck speed between the skeletal trees surrounding this side of the gateway.

He chose the Forest of Decay specifically because it provides the perfect environment for a chase. It allows him to easily keep up with you while giving the illusion of protection. There’s also not a single nook or cranny Yoongi isn’t intimately familiar with; after all, he can’t have you finding some unknown hole to burrow into.

The flash and flicker of your coat draws his attention as it zigs and zags through the petrified sentinels of the forest. Their long, gnarled branches reach far, entwining overhead like a macabre endless bird's nest. It creates a dim atmosphere, with the faintest hint of light bleeding through the limbs. Each tree is about a foot wide and twenty feet high, the ground covered in sooty ash; it’s an ideal playground.

“Leave me alone!” you sob when Yoongi lets you catch another glimpse of him.

Yoongi shudders as a fresh, new wave of terror undulates from you and washes over him. “No can do, my queen.”

The thrill of the chase adds kindling to Yoongi’s need to consume you whole. Every step you take is reckless. You throw yourself around trees so fast you nearly hit the next. The spacing between the trees is relatively narrow, just a few feet at most. Still, with the way you’re barreling through them, you’ve already accumulated a few scratches and minor lacerations from the dried bark, feet kicking up small puffs of ash with every frantic step. The tangy, sweet scent of your blood makes him salivate. The thick, viscous drool coating his tongue will make it all that easier to fuck you with it once he catches you.

Lumbering on behind you, Yoongi intentionally stomps and makes as much noise as possible. Every crack and thump he makes has a whimper shivering from your throat. The thick appendage between his monstrous thighs swells with each terrified sound you make. Fucking you in his proper form will be such a treat. Surely, it’ll be far better than any sex he’s had with the limits of his human body, even if he does love the way your softness compliments his.

But there is nothing soft about Yoongi now—not when he has such a tasty morsel running and screaming so prettily for him. He’s all hard edges and thick muscle. A manic chuckle bubbles in his chest as he leaps ahead, hounding your heels.

It’s comical, ironic even, when he watches your foot catch on a high root hidden by a pile of ash, and you go sprawling on the ground before him. He’s seen enough of those cheesy horror films so fervently worshiped in your world to know how funny this is.

“Please, no! Leave me alone!” you beg through ragged breaths. Your face and hair are marked with scratches, flecks of dried bark, and the pewter-colored ash covering the ground.

An appreciative moan works its way free of Yoongi as he stands over you, swaying like he’s drunk. Which, maybe he is. There is a faint buzzing in his ears, and if he opens his eyes too wide, your image doubles. Two of you; he grins wickedly at the prospect. Now, that would be a definite treat.

As it is, there’s only you; that will be sufficient for what Yoongi has planned. He looms over you, and the backward-bending joints of his knees give slightly as he towers across your prone form. Your eyes pan over his arched body, perhaps for the first time, taking it in with true clarity. Yoongi lets his skin ripple between human and proper form, coalescing and whirling with shadows.

With a flex of darkness, he rends the remnants of his clothes. The ripping of the seams and subsequent soft plop of the ruined fabrics echo through the suddenly silent space. You’re barely even breathing as you take him in, eyes landing on the swinging cock that nearly brushes your belly as he places a gnarled hand beside your head in the ash.

“You’re mine,” he whispers, though it comes out more like sand in a grinder. Lowering further, Yoongi nudges your chin with his nose, guiding your head sideways to give him unfettered access to your throat. Pressing into the crook of your neck, he huffs hot breath over your skin, rejoicing in the instinctive reaction. Your skin prickles and flushes with goosebumps, and a thick cloud of potent fear wafts up as your pulse hammers away beneath his lips.

“P-please,” you whimper through trembling lips. Tears stream down your cheek and drip off the bridge of your nose. Their salty tang mixes with the sweetness of terror pervading the air.

That word, spoken in that way…it does something to Yoongi. He groans, nipping at the skin of your neck with his blunted teeth before letting them elongate so he can adequately graze your papery-thin flesh. You cry out when they slice through, leaving behind thin blood trickles and shallow scratches.

Your blood is laced with fear, blooming on his tongue like an ambrosia of the gods. “You’ve always begged so prettily, my queen. You’re a treasure, and I’m so glad I found you all those years ago, so innocent and unsuspecting—my perfect mate.”

The next scream that leaves your lips is guttural, full of panic and delirium as Yoongi takes his first pull from your body. Thin wisps of black shadow thread from his lips to yours. They pulse with every drag he takes. He’s fed from you thousands of times, but never like this—never so profoundly.

Fear, terror, horror, fright…it’s all the same, and yet Yoongi is almost sure he can taste the distinction. Like a fine wine, you have tasting notes that vary with every sip. By the fifth breath, your body has grown slack, your eyes wide and glassy. Tears still stream down your face but in silence.

Yoongi watches your pallor grow sickly, waxy as sweat pearls along your hairline and temples. Draining you is a delicate affair, something he’s both dreaded and looked forward to for so long. Watching the fire that he loves so much bleed from your eyes and the vigor leech from your skin pangs him with a foreign sensation, something akin to mourning? He realizes now he will mourn the loss of your human form, even if it’s far inferior to what he will turn you into.

With one final shuddering gasp, the darkest, thickest tendril of shadow snakes its way between your parted lips. Your fingers and limbs spasm as the inky darkness roots in deep, tethering itself to you like the strings of a marionette. It pulls tight in Yoongi’s own chest, cementing his essence to yours. As a barbed ring of shadow settles on the ring finger of your left hand, the bond snaps into place, and chaos ensues.

🖤🖤🖤

You’ve never experienced such visceral fear before. It’s consumed every fiber of your being. You’re no longer who you once were and will never be the same again. You are simply fear incarnate.

A boiling starts beneath your skin, beginning at the tips of your fingers and toes before rolling through to the center of your chest, where it pops and sizzles like dry ice in tepid water, so cold it burns.

It’s like flipping a coin. One minute, you are experiencing insurmountable terror, and the next, you exude it. Nothing can scare you now, not even the monster sitting a few feet away watching you with calculated eyes—familiar eyes, eyes you’ve lost yourself in more times than you can count.

They’re not as cold as they were a moment ago. You distinctly remember how those red eyes softened right before you felt yourself float away. It’s Yoongi, you know this, but it’s also not. He’s different, and it’s not even the deformed, gangly shadow form that makes up his body, either. There’s something more, something that draws you in, like an anchor dragging you into his deepest, darkest depths. He’s a vast ocean, and you’re pretty sure what he just did was akin to drowning you—killing you.

Only you don’t feel dead.

Quite the opposite, in fact. For the first time in your existence, you feel truly alive; and not in the living sense but in the eternal sense. You have no ending or beginning; you exist as you will yourself to be.

With that thought, your body urges you to change, to morph into a far more comfortable form. Darkness seeps from your pores, cascading out of your skin until it becomes a mockery of its former self, and it feels good—so good.

“What have you done to me?” Your voice sounds different, soft yet sultry. It reminds you of black silk and lace, devious and coy, with the perfect mix of husk and drawl.

Yoongi lets out a slow breath, the sound like dry leaves crackling. “Made you mine.”

“What…what are we?”

The soft ash sifts between your now exposed toes, the boots you once wore laying in peeled strips along with tattered remnants of your clothes. Nudity has never been an issue for you, but it’s as if you have no inhibitions at all now. The shadows around your body contort to form curves and perfect swells.

“We have many names. Demons, bogeymen…it’s all very fitting, yet doesn’t quite capture the truth. What I am—what we are—is darkness, fear, terror, and shadow. We are infinite, endless, and everything all at once.”

“Why me?” you whisper. That tether inside of you pulses, pulling tight as you shift and try to put distance between yourself and Yoongi. It’s like a rope around your throat, pulling you up short.

Yoongi narrows his eyes, lips quirking in amusement. “This is the Realm of Darkness—my domain,” he gestures broadly with a clawed hand, “and it was all I had access to until I found a way to enter yours. Once I tasted the sweet nectar of fear it provided and the power it allowed me access to, I couldn’t stop my curiosity and need for more. Then I found you, and I knew you would be the perfect compliment to my aspirations, just the thing I needed to break the barriers completely.”

He straightens up, and the way his body catches your attention has a heat flaring somewhere deep in your being. Your eyes lock on the dark sinews and plump muscles that stretch and contract as Yoongi moves to crouch in front of you. The ribbed and notched cock swaying between his thighs dribbles a thick, viscous line of lavender-colored arousal.

Tearing your eyes from the sight of it, you force yourself to look into his feral, red eyes. His explanation is both confusing and clear at the same time. You understand it, but know that you should be railing against it because it’s morally incomprehensible. You’ve essentially been kidnapped and forced into what this is. Yet…yet—“I feel…” you trail off, trying to find the right word to describe it.

“Powerful,” Yoongi offers with a knowing, pointed-tooth grin.

“Powerful,” you repeat, letting the word roll around your tongue before nodding. Perhaps that’s why you are shrugging off your cares and the moral compass that has seemingly forgotten how to point north.

The subtle smell of burnt wood and sulfur hits you as Yoongi raises a hand to fit across the front of your throat. Those too-long fingers engulf it, sending a shiver down your new body. Instead of your belly filling up with fear, it fills with desire and need. You no longer need to battle the terror, letting it drip away from you instead.

“Look at you. You’re so perfect. You don’t feel scared, but that’s only because this realm leeches it away and devours it before it can poison your mind, leaving behind nothing but how you truly feel.”

You know there has always been a darkness inside you, something that even you feared to face head-on. After all, it must take some kind of crazy to be both scared of the dark and want to embrace it. It’s not just the way Yoongi plied your body and made you forget to care about being proper and good. Is this what you were made for—all the fright and terror you’ve experienced and secretly sought out leading you to this very moment here?

All it takes is one look at Yoongi to know the truth.

You were created for this, crafted to be precisely what Yoongi needed, just as he said.

With that moment of clarity and acceptance, a new sensation slithers down your spine. A lasciviousness that has you moaning in surprise.

“Fuck,” you grind out between clenched teeth.

“Gladly,” Yoongi chuckles, his red eyes taking on a lecherous gleam. “Let’s unleash your darkness on the realms, my queen.”

Between one breath and the next, your knees are splayed wide, and Yoongi has his face buried between your thighs. All it takes is one languid swipe of his long, broad tongue to have you cursing again. Caustic words fall from your mouth, laced with vitriol as it’s unfair how good it feels. It’s like every inch of contact between your body and his writes itself across what was once your soul.

“Mmmph,” you moan incoherently as the beginning of an orgasm lashes against your insides. Yoongi greedily sucks and licks, tongue laving over your throbbing clit before sliding between your contracting walls.

A tsunami of darkness crashes out from within you, blanketing the surrounding forest in shadow. Wisps of clarity ebb and flow, drifting along with the gloom until Yoongi grounds you with an exceptionally sharp pinch to one of your nipples.

“Almost there,” he announces gleefully, licking his lips before launching forward and forcing you onto your back.

Yoongi feels like fire against you, his body scorching everywhere it touches. You expect to feel the soft ash against your back but the only sensation that ebbs in is a cool aeration against the exposed skin between your shoulder blades.

Monstrous arms wrap around you as Yoongi slots his too-big mouth over yours, invading you with his slick, serpentine tongue. Your eyes flutter open, and you catch a glimpse of a pewter sky beyond the scraggy branches that are suddenly closer overhead.

You try to pull away from his devouring kiss to alert him to the jagged web of dry wood about to scrape his back, but he growls and renews his effort to shove his tongue as far into your mouth as possible. Snaps and cracks fill the air, and wood explodes around you.

Realization dawns as more should-be-fear-turned-lust pours through your body and expands beyond it, filling the sky around you with a murky darkness. The power of that emotion propels you further, sending you and Yoongi far above the landscape to suspend over the entirety of the Realm of Darkness, leaving a streamer of smoke-like essence in your wake.

Yoongi throws his head back, finally relenting from the kiss. His broad chest heaves against yours, and his red eyes are wild as they roll manically before landing on you. “How is this possible?” you pant, hands gripping the muscles of his shoulders tightly.

“Anything is possible here,” he whispers fervently before spinning you so fast your vision blurs. The horizon spans as far as you can see around you. You and Yoongi are hundreds of feet higher than even the tallest mountain peak. Everything is a monochrome grey, black, or in-between. A jagged line of mountains rear to your right while inky streams and rivers zig zag to your left. It’s a hideously beautiful display that contradicts all scenic views you’ve ever seen, yet is better than all of them combined.

“Oh, God,” you whimper when Yoongi forces your legs wide and slots his hips between them from behind. Shadows billow around you, charged with energy that crackles and sizzles, barely restrained from being unleashed to wreak untold havoc.

Thin fingers slide around to cup the front of your throat, giving a none too gentle squeeze. Yoongi snarls, “There is no God here. We are the gods!” His declaration is punctuated by the head of his cock prodding against your sopping cunt. This new body is already eager to pleasure Yoongi and receive pleasure in kind.

His hips kick forward, and you feel every delicious ridge and ripple along his thick shaft. It feels like he invades the pit of your stomach, filling you to the brink. It’s a rush of wicked delight, pure erotic rapture.

You moan again, this time invoking the only name left on your tongue, “Yoongi!”

“I’ve been looking forward to fucking you like this for five years,” he grunts, emphasizing the words with his hips pumping against your ass in brutal strokes. “Claiming you wholly, decorating the world with our combined shadows. Look how they writhe for you, waiting for you to command them. Let go.”

Your eyes roll from side to side, taking in the dark, undulating forms stretching wide around you. With each prick of pleasure Yoongi insights in your body, they branch and roil further out, creating the foundation for your own personal bedlam.

Like a bounty won at the end of a hunt, Yoongi ravishes your body with his. He’s brutal, unrelenting and wanton. The hand on your throat tugs with every slam of his hips, bowing your back and forcing you to peer out at the Kingdom begging for your rule. Darkness beseeches you, screaming for your glory and power as it pours out and blankets the sky.

Your world narrows to one pin point of coherency. Yoongi. He is nothing and everything all at once. He is the beginning and the end—fear, loathing, lust, and madness…through it all, he is infinite. And he’s yours.

With one final, shuddering breath you let go; welcoming the darkness once and for all.

“Yes.” The word, whispered from your parted lips, is sucked away with the maelstrom that detonates around and within you.

You barely hear the guttural, primal roar that emits from Yoongi as he buries himself to the hilt and fills you with his terrible darkness. You shatter into a multitude of shards, a glittering storm that dances through the ether, sparking and catching on the thin membrane that stretches between the realms. All it takes is one weak point, a small breach in the barrier, and everything falls apart.

It’s glorious, feeling yourself everywhere all at once. Your body is still fluttering around Yoongi, sucking and welcoming his release into your soul. But, your consciousness is spread wide, bleeding through the nexus of this realm and the one you once called home.

The mortal realm bows to your will. You can feel the beings of the Realm of Darkness funneling toward the broken gateways, pouring through to consume and conquer with the whisper of your glory on their tongues. Fear reigns supreme, consuming everything in its path as you expand your hold on the darkness.

“My Queen of Darkness,” the ephemeral coo caresses your ear, phantom lips brushing along your shadows. Yoongi’s darkness blends with yours, adding to the pulse that seeps to all corners of existence. “No longer will you fear, as you are fear itself…glorious, neverending fear.”

This fic is just not what I expected. There I was, thinking I'll get a lovely enemies to lovers story, but then it's sooo much more than that.

I was so into their bickering, into trying to decipher what happened in their past to make hate sparks go off like that. And then it hurts. This story isn't so much about people who hate each other realizing it's all a big misunderstanding as it is about growing up not fitting the norm and trying to deal with that in a way that doesn't hurt the people you value most (and maybe still hurting them by mistake). In many ways, this story is about Namjoon, and acceptance. It's about talking and understanding, and I loved that a lot.

That being said, Hobi is so great in this, he got me blushing. But also he came without permission and I won't forget that 👀

Homesick.

Homesick.

Kim Namjoon is happily (maybe) married with two beautiful girls that are his whole entire world. Nothing means more to him than Army, his members, and his family. But things start to change when he sees his wife could be using their marriage as an opportunity than actual love. Just to make things more complicated...

He may have fallen in love with the babysitter.

word count: 2.2k

introduction.

Homesick.

“She’s a little sick today, she’ll be fussy but she should fall asleep after you give her the medicine after dinner”

Namjoon said running down the list of duties as he always did when you came to watch sweet little Sky. You’ve been watching his little girls for a year, you know how this works by now.

“ She has been very cuddly as of late, I hope you’re okay with that tonight, yn”

You smiled and nodded.

“ I don’t mind that, she’s the sweetest little thing. You go have fun, I got this” you reassured him, patting his arm lightly before you reached for Sky, who had no issues leaning forward to be in your arms. Namjoon always took note of that. “Is Sunnie at her friend’s house tonight?”

“ ah, yes. She’ll be there and you’ll see her this weekend! I really ap-”

“Oh come on, Joon. You do this every time. Y/n know what to do by now, let’s get out of here already” You heard his wife coming into the kitchen pulling her dress down as she walked to her husband. “I know she knows, I just wanted to-”

His wife rolled her eyes and smiled “Baby- our princess will be fine. It should be fairly easy since our little firecracker is away for the night. Besides, Y/n has our number shou-SHOULD anything happen which it never does.” she said looking at you before looking back at Joon, pressing a sweet kiss on his lips and fixing his suit jacket a little.

You should be used to it by now–it happens every time but the way Joon always panics before they leave and his wife always destresses him it’s usually the other way around for the other children you nanny for. Joon’s kids are his pride and joy. It would kill him if something happen to either of them, which is why you always try your hardest to make sure nothing happens as you did with all the kids you watched but you had to admit, you had to take different precautions when it comes to Kim Namjoon of BTS’ kids.

“Now, let’s go before you’re late and Seokjin’s wife chews you out,” she said giggling before leaning over to give sky a kiss and a sweet pat on your shoulder before telling you goodnight, pulling Joon towards the door.

“Goodnight y/n, please, if you need anything- don’t hesitate to call okay?” Namjoon yelled as he was dragged out the door. “Trust your good judgment honey, we trust you” His wife smiled as she reached to close the door behind Joon.

You giggled softly and looked down at the sweet girl herself. Kim Sky. She looked back up at you and smiled brightly, pushing out small but strong and cute words that you had no clue what meant but it was warming nevertheless. She’s shy of 10 months and taking the world by storm. Her little babbles continued as you sat her in her high chair and waltzed around the kitchen preparing her dinner. You missed Sunnie. She was just like her name, a ball of sunshine, probably brighter than the sun. She’s turning 4 soon and she has so much to say. She’s very smart, you kinda figured since her parents are extremely smart.

You spent a lot of time with the girls so knowing what they’d like and wouldn’t like was second nature to you– Sometimes you found yourself telling their parents that anything green that wasn’t fruit wasn't their fave. You’ve been their personal nanny- if you will– since before Sky was born. It was a little early you thought. You couldn’t imagine being away from your baby that young, you’d want to be around your child every moment you could, but maybe that changes after a second child.

Who knows for sure?

Sky’s small hands' patter along her high chair’s tray, making no beat in particular but just loving the sound of the new noise she’s able to make. Her wide smile made your heart melt as you pulled a chair towards her.

“You’re just like your daddy huh? Love music” you smiled and lifted your phone to record the cute moments from this small, innocent being. After putting on a full concert, you decided to send it to her daddy which only made his heart flutter.

Namjoon loved seeing things like this, and you knew that.

“Let’s have some yummy uhh -potatoes and peas…” you giggled looking over at Sky who you knew weren’t going to be a fan. She loves the potatoes but it’s the peas that are not her favorite.

Nevertheless, you did your best to entertain her so much while she was eating, she didn’t even realize she was eating peas. You watched her as she munched and suck on the food in so much happiness. Smiling, you reached down and gather some more onto your spoon and fed her once more.

‘Mmm mmm’ fell from her little lips as she waited for her next spoonful, you heard your phone buzz across the table.

Mr. Kim: Thank you for the video, she has made my day much better. Mr. Kim: Also, I know sky doesn’t like peas too much, I haven’t been able to get to the store and when I asked Veronica, she…bought Peas and Potatoes…so I’m sorry if she’s giving you a hard time.

You giggled.

Y/n: It’s not a problem. She’s eating well. I think my airplane tactics are working. We’re going to take a little medicine and cuddle on the couch until it’s time to sleep. Please enjoy your night.

Namjoon’s nerves were calmed after talking to you. He smiled softly and placed his phone back into his pocket as he sipped on his drink lightly, engaging back in the conversation.

His wife was networking like she always did—

She’s an event designer. She makes clothing for a lot of idols and at one point in time she was a seamstress for Bangtan, that was his first encounter with her before he ended up in a marriage. He didn’t mind her job, he didn’t even mind her networking. Bangtan had to do the same thing when they were starting out but they never had the same opportunities she does being married to one of them. He didn’t like that sometimes she took intimate parties like this one, celebrating Seokjin’s anniversary, to try and promote herself.

“Oh yes, I have the perfect vision for your wife sir. An absolutely beautiful-stunning really- baby blue dress with a pretty long train and a slit on the side.”

Namjoon just smiled and nodded, trying to be the supportive husband he knew he was but it’s things like this that always pissed him off. The members and a few of his friends had already made comments about this very thing, and no matter how much you tried to talk to her about it, she’ll always say, “ It’s innocent baby, everyone needs a designer.”

“Ah thank you so much, but no, we haven’t thought much about our renewal but once we give it more thought, we’ll give you a call right honey?”

Namjoon smiled softly and led his wife to the bar where his eyes grew dark.

“Darling, I thought we discussed this. You won’t advertise yourself.”

“Oh baby, I was just offering a friend a service-”

“Baby, you didn’t know them until tonight. This is an important night for our friends and you're networking.”

“Honey, relax. It’s all innocent baby.” She smiles and orders another glass of white wine.

Namjoon rolled his eyes softly and leaned his back on the bar, overviewing the guest as his phone buzzed yet again, he noticed his wife was off networking again as if he didn’t say a word.

Y/n: I’m sorry for bothering you but I wanted to let you know, that the little princess is asleep. Is there anything else you would like me to do while I wait for you guys?

Namjoon chuckles and smiles.

Mr. Kim: Ahh, thank you. She’s been having the hardest time, I’m assuming she didn’t give you any trouble? & no, nothing but the usual. Just enjoy yourself. Have you eaten yet?

Y/n: Oh, no. We played a little before bed and she tired herself out. But I haven’t eaten since lunchtime. I was just about to order something.

Mr. Kim: That’s one way to do it. Lol. I can order you something, just send me what you want and I’ll have it sent.

Y/n: You don’t have to do that Mr. Kim- really. I can afford it. I don’t want to use your money.

****Mr. Kim sent you $200 now your balance is $1,430****

Mr. Kim: Don’t even think about sending it back. Enjoy your dinner.

You puffed your cheeks and giggled to yourself as you scrolled down to figure out what you wanted before you decided on ramen from your favorite shop not too far from here.

$200 dollars was a little overboard but nevertheless, you didn’t mind eating from your favorite place.

The clock read 12:40 pm and you held little Sky in your arms on the couch. She was laying comfortably on your chest, halfway asleep yourself when your phone constantly buzzed, causing the small whimpers from Sky’s mouth to wake you up almost immediately. While keeping baby girl securely in your arms, you shuffled around looking for your phone that somehow ended up on the floor.

“H-hello?” you mumbled making small circles on her back to soothe the small child on your chest.

“Mimi?” you heard Sunnie whisper between her tiny cries.

“What’s the matter baby?” you asked, more awake and alerted. “Are you okay?”

“*sniffle* yes…*sniffle* I want to come home..”

You didn’t question it a second more, after telling her you were on your way, you changed Sky into some warmer clothes since it had started to rain. Stopping by Sunnie’s room you grabbed her favorite blanket which you realized her parents forgot to pack. She can’t live without this blanket let alone sleep without it.

You headed down the road to her little friend's house after receiving the address from the girl’s mother. Parking your car, you got out and carefully got Sky out before heading up the walkway to where it took only a few moments for you to be greeted by Sunnie and the mother.

Instantly she ran to you and held your little legs tightly, you ran your fingers through her hair.

“Everything was okay until it was time to sleep and I brought out Lei’s special stuffed toy to sleep with. She realized she didn’t have her blanket and kept waking up through the night. Then she asked to call her daddy but we couldn’t get a hold of him then we found your number on her backpack next to his and she wanted to call you. So we did. I’m really sorry to call you and baby girl out in this weather.”

You smiled and waved her off. “I’m glad you called, her parents are at a party for their friend’s anniversary. They should be on their way home soon but I got her. She can’t sleep without this blanket, maybe we’ll try again next time hm?” you smiled down at Sunnie who just kept hugging you.

You said your goodbyes, loaded the girls up, and headed home.

Once you arrived you saw Namjoon and his wife pull up after you.

Worry was painted all over his face as he saw you get his little girls out of the car.

“What happened?” he asked walking over to you taking Sunnie into his hands while you got Sky.

“You forgot her blanket, so she couldn’t sleep. Nothing too bad. She just wanted to come home”

Namjoon sighed softly as you guys got into the house and out of the rain. “I totally forgot, I thought I had stuck it in there. Daddy’s sorry princess” he said kissing her head softly as she cuddled into her daddy with her blanket.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself. You were busy, it’s easy to forget.” You said gathering your belongings. “Where’s Veronica?” you asked noticing that she didn’t walk into the house after you two. Joon sighed.

“She decided to go with some friends to the bar. I’m pretty beat and we have so much to do this weekend, I want to spend some time with the girls,” he said watching you gather your things. You nodded.

“Well, have a good night and I’ll see you this weekend” You smiled turning to head to the door

“Y/n-” Joon said standing after setting a sleeping Sky on the couch gently. “Why don’t you stay the night? It’s really rainy and cold outside, you’ve been out there once no need to go back. It’s so late just stay in the guest room and tomorrow maybe, if you want we can take the girls somewhere?”

“Oh thank you, do you this veronica will mind?”

“She wouldn’t, she loves you just like me. She probably won’t even be home tonight” Joon said nonchalantly.

You didn’t question it at the time but maybe you should have.

Maybe you shouldn’t have stayed the night.

Or any other night.

Maybe you should have set boundaries.

Because now you’re in love with a married man.

Who's children you watch btw.

Who’s also in love with you…

Homesick.

Silent Grace Chapter V: A Deadly Favor (part One)

Silent Grace Chapter V: A Deadly Favor (part One)

You were only able to fall asleep for an hour and it wasn’t so pleasurable. You kept tossing and turning. Your mind continued to run and think about Yoongi, just thinking about how angry he was with you. It scared you a bit. Yoongi has never got so angry with you like that, you’ve never seen him like that in all the years you’ve known him. Sure, you have seen him become upset or irritated. You saw him scold some of the people that work for him but you never seen him at like the way he did tonight.

You are not scared of Yoongi, there’s no way you could be.

But you have to admit, it’s something you’ll never forget.

Lifting from your comfortable bed and throwing off the covers, you got up from the bed. Grabbing the blanket from the chair in the corner of your massive room, you headed out to the balcony to enjoy what’s left of the sun setting.

A sigh left Yoongi’s lips as he entered his home. Yoongi took his time driving home. He needed to make sure his head was fully clear before he even attempted to talk to you. If he was still as angry as he was before, he knows he’ll fuck things us more. He badly wanted to fix things between you and him, but it was hard for him to explain where he was coming from. He knew you wouldn’t understand without him having to explain everything. Which in turn would lead you to find out about him and his family.

You didn’t know that he knew who promised to repay you. You didn’t know that the man that gave you all these flowers was the very man that robbed the love of your life of his.

Hoseok caused a lot of pain that he hasn’t apologized for. Thank God Yoongi wasn’t holding his breath to get one. He would have died a long time ago.

So finally getting rid of him after all these years to see him wiggle his way back to Korea, in HIS part of town, and found a way to HIS girlfriend was unsettling for Yoongi. It was damn near disrespectful.

He could explain this two you. But Yoongi also didn’t know if Hoseok even knows who YOU are.

The chance was small, especially since Hoseok sent all them damn flowers. Yoongi just knew in his heart… Hoseok knows who you are. Besides, what Hoseok did is still hard for Yoongi, Namjoon, and Seokjin to talk about.

Hearing Hoseok’s name after all this time just left a bad taste in their mouths. Yoongi thought about the small picture that you have in your workspace. You couldn’t see the faces if you stand from the desk. You’d have to grab the picture to know it was him and the picture was old. He looks completely different now. There is no way one can put two and two together unless they knew him.

‘But this Hoseok we’re talking about.’ Yoongi thought to himself as he went through his office to check some things that his father had instructed him to. “Of course, he looked at the fucking picture” Yoongi cursed to himself.

He rubbed his temples as the stress was slowing piling on. His father warned him about this truth, true enough, but he didn’t think it would happen so soon and before he even took over the family officially. A weight lifted off of his shoulders when he came to this realization. As long as you didn’t see Hoseok again and stop working at that fucking hospital, things should be normal.

It’s not like Hoseok knows where you are located and Yoongi doesn’t stay in the same area he did when they were friends. He was going to convince you to leave your job. Well, maybe a 0.5 weight. Getting you to leave something you loved was going to be hard. Trust him, he would know.

~~~~
“You should just leave me alone Y/n. I don’t want to hurt you.” Yoongi painfully said.
He just found out that he’d have to skip out on going to college to take over the family ‘business’
As if this ‘business’ is legit. His parents promised him that he would have to live like they did. They told him that once he got done with high school he could do whatever he wanted and have their support. He had it all planned. He was going to go to school and get a degree in music, he was going to audition at a company and finally, he was going to marry you. But all that came crashing down when his father lied to him and kept feeding him lies. His mother didn’t even back him up like she said she would. She just sat there.
‘Why do I have to take this shit!? Why do I have to give up everything I want to please you? I thought you didn’t want a life like this for me. Wasn’t that the whole point of you guys pushing me to finish school with good grades and get a degree in something? Why the sudden change?! And right when I find someone I can see myself with…’ he thought about what he told his parents while he looked at your painful face.
You were lost for words. Here you two are in the middle of a park, late at night on a Wednesday after an amazing dinner and a movie date. You had no idea that Yoongi was even planning on breaking up with you.
The sad thing is, neither did Yoongi. His father demanded that he did so.
“What? How would you hurt me? What are you talking about?” you asked. You had to admit. You were confused. Just the other day You and Yoongi were talking about moving in with one another and now he’s sitting here telling you that he didn’t want to hurt you.
“Is there someone…else?” you asked defeatedly. Yoongi’s head snapped up with a surprised look.
“No. There is no one else. And there will be no one after you either.”
“Then…were you lying to me this entire time?”
Yoongi shook his head no.
“I never lied to you. My feelings, my words, and my love are all real for you. This pains me as much as it pains you to do this…”
“Then don’t do it. Sadly, I’m not that easy to get rid of. Especially without a reason. Or a sad excuse like that” you said crossing your arms which made Yoongi chuckle a bit.
“I’m serious Y/n. I don’t want to lose you or worse hurt you. If anything, I just want to protect you…”
“There’s nothing you could do to hurt me. And if you did, I would tell you, and depending on what it is, we could fix it but at the very least we would talk about it before anything.”
~~~~

Yoongi looked into your eyes with more love for you now than he already did. He should have told you everything that night. Instead, he lies to you and gets into situations like this where he has to lie to you some more. He still had to explain why he flew off the handle like that.

“ Y/n “ he whispers after entering the room. He didn’t want to be loud just in case you had fallen asleep. Yoongi looked over at the bed and saw you weren’t there. A small frown formed on his face as he continued to look around for you but came up short. He almost began to panic but then it hit him. Your favorite spot. The balcony. It was your comfort spot. Most nights he would find you there. On other nights you both would sleep there if the weather permitted. No doubt you’d be there tonight too.

Chapter V; A Deadly Favor (part Two)

Chapter V; A Deadly Favor (part Two)

It was your comfort spot. Most nights he would find you there. On other nights you both would sleep there if the weather permitted.  No doubt you'd be there tonight too.

It was a beautiful night. The stars were bright and the weather was a little chilly but tolerable. You could see the lights of Seoul from a distance. You got to witness the sunset, something you try to do every night you have the time. The beautiful arrangement of orange, red, pink, and a bit of purple almost made you forget about the fight earlier. It was calming.

A pair of arms wrapped around your waist, instantly warming you up. You didn't have to look to know who it was. His scent alone told on himself. Yoongi placed his head in the crook of your neck, soaking up your scent. You relaxed to his touch, you couldn't help yourself.

After a few moments, you pushed your body off of Yoongis and turned, facing him, remembering the whole reason why you are upset. You folded your arms and looked at Yoongi. Yoongi's heart dropped to the floor when he saw your reaction. He knew he deserved it.

'This must be what You felt when I did the same to you' he thought to himself.

Ignoring the beautiful scene around him, Yoongi couldn't keep his eyes from locking on yours. He saw the confusion, worry, and sadness in your eyes. He knew that this time he'd be able to fix it... but he also knew that there would be a time that he might not be able to fix it. He won't always have the right words to keep you here. And that scares him. Looking at your expressions now made him think of the future and you finding out everything.

Moving closer to you and taking your hands, taking a deep breath

" I'm sorry..." he started " I had a long day today and seeing that...the thought of.." he stops himself and sighs defeatedly. "It just...made me lose my cool. I didn't mean to react that way, normally I don't..this time was different. I don't like the thought of someone else charming you. Especially to that degree. Especially when you love roses and flowers in general. It just drove me crazy and seeing how happy you were about them...it just," Yoongi paused for a second before continuing "it just made me jealous. More than normal."

You could see the sincere look in his eyes. It just confirmed what you thought of before.

"I understand but it hurts my feelings a lot when you pull away like that. Not once but twice. You've never acted like that before. It kind of scared me and you looked unrecognizable to me." You said to him looking into his eyes.

Yoongi felt even worse than he did before. Hearing that come from your lips felt like someone kicked him dead in his chest. It was something he never wanted to do to you. All he could do was look down from your gaze. He couldn't believe he allowed Hoseok to make him react like that..not only that but to you of all people.

"Blossom I...I'm so sorry. There's no excuse for that" he said once again. "I should have never reacted that way. I would never hurt you and I never meant to scare you."

You knew Yoongi was apologetic, he meant his words wholeheartedly. Also, you knew Yoongi would never hurt you. Of course, you accept his apology, but it's still going to remain in the back of your mind. It was hard for it not to be.

"You are forgiven, baby. I can't stay mad at you for long even if I wanted to. I know you wouldn't hurt me. It was just different to see you like that.  But I'm sorry too."

Yoongi frowned and tilted his head. There was nothing that you needed to apologize for in his mind so he was curious as to what you had to apologize for.

"What are you apologizing for?" he asked,

"For assuming you got me the roses. I should have confirmed who they were from before accepting them. If I would have known they were from another man, let alone anyone else? I would have left them there or donated them to the hospital. Patients love things like that. Nevertheless, I'm sorry too."  you explained.

Yoongi chuckled and pulled you closer to him, wrapping his arms around your waist and making small circles against your skin with his fingertips.

"Baby..." he started " you didn't do a thing. It was all me. I shouldn't have acted that way"

His eyes softened which made you melt.

This was the Yoongi you were used to. Not that person you saw earlier. You placed your hand on Yoongi's cheek, cupping it softly. No extra words were spoken, it didn't need to be. The atmosphere said everything that needed to be said between you two.

No longer able to hold himself back, Yoongi leaned down and kissed your lips softly. Not wanting anything more and not giving you anything less. It was like the argument was erased from your memories as you shared the sweet kiss.

Wanting to savor this moment, Yoongi picked you up as he moved towards the chair. As he sat down, he sat you directly onto his lap, not breaking the kiss. Not even for a second.

Slowly the kiss became something more passionate and sweet. His lips were parted, allowing you to slip your tongue inside. Warm and soft, are the words you'd describe Yoongi's lips. You could kiss them for hours and not get tired of them.

Your bodies pressed together heatedly as your tongues both fought for dominance. You could feel both of your heartbeats pick up as the kiss grew more intense between you two.

Warmth bloomed in Yoongi's chest as the sparks began to ignite as the kiss continued to the room. Your legs were wrapped around his waist until he laid you on the bed, closing the space in between you, still not allowing the kiss to break. The intensity of the kiss, his weight on your body, and the smell of his cologne made you see double. Butterflies danced in your stomach, you were over the moon over Yoongi. And he was with you.

Yoongi pulled back and stared into your eyes, creasing your cheek softly. "I love you blossom. I don't ever want to lose you..." Your stomach did backflips. It took so long for Yoongi to tell you he loved you so each time you hear him say it, you melt. "I love you too, Yoongi"

Yoongi smiled as he leaned down and kissed your lips. You returned the kiss, meeting his tongue in the middle. Yoongi knew that he had an early morning tomorrow but he did not care. He needed this. He needed you. You broke apart and Yoongi began to kiss your neck sweetly.

"I'm going to show you how much I love you, yn"

Just that alone was enough to drive you mad. His kisses were loving and sweet. Yoongi started to nibble on your earlobe as he slid his hands down your body, gripping your breast and rubbing them. A soft moan left your lips as he continued to grip your breast and kiss your neck.

He gripped the bottom of your shirt and lifted it over your head, pleased to see that you had nothing underneath. From your neck, he began to kiss your collarbone which led him to your breast. Yoongi flicked his tongue across your nipple making you gasp softly. He licked and sucked your nipple as you squirm underneath him. After a few moments, he switched to your other one and repeated the same process. Your moans only grew louder from here as he licked down your stomach. He left plenty of soft kisses against your skin which gave you butterflies.

Yoongi spreads your legs apart and runs his tongue along your lips. Your hands subconsciously found their way to his locks which caused you to pull him closer. He then kissed your thighs slowly moving upwards towards your entrance. You moaned loudly as he teased you with his tongue alone. Your hips begin to move up and down as he continues to lick you.

"S-stop teasing" you demand breathlessly which earns you a slap to the thigh followed by Yoongi's deep chuckles.

"I think I'll take my time" Yoongi smirked looking up at you.

You let out a small cry when he took your clit into his mouth and began to suck on it with his eyes amused by your response to him. You could feel yourself getting close to orgasm already. You knew you would explode if he didn't stop and he knew that too, but that didn't stop him.

It encouraged him.

Yoongi kept sucking on your clit while penetrating you with his two fingers. You moaned loudly as your body tensed up and your orgasm washed over you. You came so hard that you almost passed out.

Good thing you didn't because that would have made Yoongi stop what he was doing. You didn't want that.

When your orgasm subsided, Yoongi climbed on top of you and smiled at your dazed look. "You okay blossom?" He asks jokingly with a slight hint of worry. You look at him with a lazy smile on your face nodding. "Why wouldn't I be? You do this to me every time" You wrap your arms around him and pull him in for a deep kiss.

Yoongi chuckled against your lips before kissing you again. The kiss lasted for a minute before he broke away and said lovingly, "I want to make love to you, baby." You nod in agreement with a loving smile as you hold his face close to yours. Yoongi couldn't help the butterflies he felt when he was with you.

It's like his tough and cold persona was nonexistent when you were with him. He was worried that he wouldn't be able to properly express himself and sometimes it's still difficult for him. But you made it so easy for him to fall in love.

He had to protect this no matter what.

~~~~~~~~
For the next few weeks, things were pretty quiet and normal. Yoongi and his father were off on another trip. Surprisingly, they left Seokjin behind. That never happens but you didn't mind the company while Yoongi was away. Things at work were the same but your shifts ran smoothly and calmly. Which is unheard of in the nursing career but you weren't complaining. You hadn't seen that guy again, not that you wanted to. You just hoped that his friend was staying out of trouble and trying not to get shot again. When your co-workers told you that someone came looking for you, you could only assume it was him. The way Yoongi reacted...it's probably best that he never comes around again.
After an hour or so of passing meds, you finally had a chance to sit at your desk and chart everything that you couldn't before. You only had an hour left in your shift, so you went ahead and got everything ready for the shift. As you were charting, you realized that your picture  was missing from your area.
"Hey, Jackie?" You asked, "Have you seen my picture that I had up here?"
Your coworker hummed as she thought about it for a moment. She shook her head and looked at you with sad eyes. "Sorry love, I didn't know you had a picture there if I'm being truthful. I don't  realize small things like that."
You smiled softly "It's okay"
Sighing as you sat back in your seat you kept looking around your workspace.
"I thought I had a picture here of Yoongi and me?" you asked yourself under your breath. You pouted and texted Yoongi.
(Blossom 🤍): Baby...I think I lost my picture at work. I must have misplaced it when I packed up to go home but now I'm sad.
(Yoon 🖤): don't worry, we'll look for it once I get back. It's probably laying in plain sight and you've overlooked it.
(Blossom 🤍): okay 😔 can we take another one just in case I've lost it?
(Yoon 🖤): Blossom 😂 we take pictures all the time. You do not have to ask me to take more.
(Blossom 🤍): you didn't like to before mister!
(Yoon 🖤): I was younger and we weren't together. Why would I need to take pictures?
(Blossom 🤍): it was only five years ago 😒 and you should always take pictures! You look so handsome 🥺
(Yoon 🖤): so I was still younger then. I'll only take pictures for you.
(Blossom 🤍): you better! My shift is almost over! I'll text you before bed!
Not pondering on it for too long after your conversation with Yoongi, you got a new admission that needed your attention.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yoongi, Namjoon, and his father are in Japan talking to some of his father's old "friends".  They want to discuss business with his father. The drug trade.

For months now, Yoongi has been fighting with his father about the whole drug trade. Min has been hounding Yoongi about it ever since Namjoon's father convinced him to do so. With Namjoon's father being the current underboss with his father, of course, his father would go along with the one he trusts the most. And he would do anything for wealth. Min probably trusted Namjoon's father more than he trusted Yoongi, his son. But now, his father believes that having a part in the trade will bring more money to the family. Yoongi couldn't argue with that in fact, he agreed. He saw just how much people could potentially make from the trade alone and had no ties to the mafia but he didn't think it was worth the risk.

Casinos, construction, building complexes, and businesses are less risky. Of course, one could wonder how you obtain all that you have but they wouldn't suspect you as fast as they would with drugs. Getting into something like that is like inviting the police right into your home. Yoongi wants his time as boss to be as smooth as possible. He remembered how his mother always had to clean up the messes his father made and the years they spent apart since he went to prison often, he didn't want you to have to do the same. He couldn't let you do the same.

But once his father sets his mind on something, he sticks to it. He shouldn't be surprised, he's the same way. He and his father bumped heads over you plenty of times and Yoongi never let up.

As much as Yoongi tries to separate himself from his father, he still carries his father's traits. There was no denying that.

Namjoon thought the same as Yoongi...but once he talked to Yoongi's father and his father, it all made sense. Namjoon has a great relationship with his father and always trusted what he told him. Min has always been a second father figure for him as well. They told him to convince Yoongi before the trip but he hasn't had the chance to talk to him alone. Since they were going to be gone for two weeks, Yoongi spent every waking moment with you. Even on the trip, he's been talking to you all day and all night. The dinner is tonight, so he has to convince him right now, but of course, he's talking to you.

"It's 11 at night, why are you just now having dinner?" Namjoon heard you ask Yoongi. Yoongi chuckled.

"Because my father wants to have dinner with one of his friends he hasn't seen in a long time and they aren't done with whatever they are doing until that late. Don't worry though, Joon and I had a filling lunch today." Yoongi said while aimlessly picking at the bottom of his shirt. He smiled at your sweet giggle on the other end. "I hope it was good!"

Namjoon hated to interrupt. He knows how much Yoongi wants to talk to you, especially after the blow-up a few weeks ago but he only had less than an hour before they had to leave. It was now or never.

Namjoon walked over to Yoongi and cleared his throat.

"I need to talk to you about something."

Yoongi looked up at Namjoon with a slight frown.

"Can't it wait until I'm done?"

"No. We need to talk about it before dinner. It's important."

"Baby don't worry about it! You can call me when you're done with everything. I don't mind waiting for you. I'm off tomorrow" you said reassuring him. An annoyed sigh left his mouth. Namjoon became a bit worried since it isn't the best time to talk to him when he was irritated. Especially if one interrupts his time with you.

"No, it's okay blossom. I'll call you in the morning. Get some rest. I should be home tomorrow night or early the next morning.  Goodnight, I love you"

"I love you too, baby! Hurry back to me. I miss you! And don't work too hard! Have some fun every once in a while!" You said which made Yoongi snort.

"I only have fun when I'm with you." Yoongi smiled. Namjoon knew that if he allowed this to continue, he'd be waiting for another 30 minutes before he could say anything.

"Yoongi" Namjoon said sternly, which caused Yoongi's smile to fade. Yoongi rolled his eyes before saying another set of goodbyes and I love you's.

After getting off the phone, Yoongi's dark eyes looked into Namjoon's.

"What could you possibly want that couldn't wait until I was done with my conversation"

" Since we don't have much time, I'm going to just say it, I think we should get into the drug trade. BEFORE you say anything just hear me out. We have enough businesses to cover our tracks. No one would expect it. It's not like we are the ones sitting on the streets selling it. That's what we have our soldiers for. They sell and the family profits. This would be good for you to come in as boss with a new way to make money. You'll be able to bring in more than your father did when taking the family from your grandfather"

Yoongi shook his head with a condescending scoff. He knew exactly where Namjoon got this idea. He was just agreeing with him a few months back.

"Did my father talk to you regarding this? Because I believe I've already made up my mind. No drugs. It's not worth the risk I thought I told you that. And tell me you can see Jungkook selling drugs? I certainly cannot, unless they're all women. Then he'll be our top seller." Yoongi scoffed with a chuckle. Namjoon sighed before continuing.

"Our fathers and I talked about it a few nights before we left for the trip. At first, I agreed with you, and I still do but when they explained it, I understood better. I think we can do this. With everything we have? No one would expect a thing-"

"You keep saying that as if I told Y/n about anything. Regardless of what we have or what can cover what, do you think I want to push drugs in my home? Where would it all go? Do you want me to go purchase a warehouse and fill it up? How would I explain that? It's already hard enough to keep things between us as it is. I'm not denying that it could bring profit up, there's no question about it. But I'm not trying to add something else I have to hide from her. You don't fucking know how hard it is to keep lying to her." Yoongi jumped up, completely taking Namjoon by surprise. Namjoon felt horrible listening to Yoongi talk about you. He didn't like lying to you either. But this isn't about you, they both had a family and reputation to uphold. He wasn't going to back down like he knew Yoongi wasn't

"Listen, I know what my father wants for the family. He only wants the best and so do I. But in a few months, he's not going to have much say-so. I want my time as boss to be smooth sailing and if, IF, I decide to have kids with Y/n, I want it to be just as smooth for my kid to run or not to run if he so chooses. You're my underboss, you're supposed to be on the same page regardless of what your opinion is. I don't give a fuck what my father or a matter of fact what your father wants. If I have to find another underboss, let me know right now you can go work for my father if that's what you fucking want"

Yoongi was two inches from Namjoon's face. His eyes were dark and serious. Namjoon knew there was nothing else he could say. He threatened his position and knew he wouldn't be let off easily. He shouldn't have had so much confidence in convincing Yoongi...

~~~~~~~~
"You wanted to see me?" Namjoon asked, walking into the conference room. He was a little nervous when Yoongi's father called him but a part of his nerves subsided when he saw his father.
"Yes, son. Don't be so nervous, please have a seat." His father said pointing to the black couch that faced another black couch that the two men were sitting on.
"I'm just wondering why I wasn't to inform Yoongi about me coming here," Namjoon said, finally taking his seat. "I just hope everything is okay"
Yoongi's dad sat his wine down on the white coffee table in front of him with a big smile.
"Things are amazing but they are going to become better. We have some new things that we're going to be adding to our... assets."
Namjoon smiled softly and nodded. "That's great, what's going to happen?"
"Since Yoongi added the real estate and the new property, it's a success. I'm quite proud of you two. How did you guys come up with that?" Yoongi's dad asked. Namjoon thought it was a little weird for him to ask so off topic but he wasn't going to tell him that.
"Yoongi thought it was a good idea for us to get into and he told Seokjin and me to look more into it" He lied.
His father chuckled. Yoongi's father shared the same chuckle as they knew something. That made Namjoon nervous all over again.
"I think I'm going to ask again," Yoongi's father started, "How did Yoongi come up with that idea?"
"My son is smart, a genius even. But real estate just seems...out of his element"
Namjoon paused for a second. Yoongi made him swear not to discuss anything concerning Y/n with his father. As his father knows, Yoongi finally told Y/n everything and she understands it all which he knows is a lie. When Min finally told his wife about his "work" she threatened to divorce him on the spot.
So you being so understanding is unrealistic to Min. He had to admit, Yoongi could lie to anyone but he could never lie to him. He always knew when his son was lying, which wasn't often. Only when Yoongi started to see you is when he started lying to everyone around him.
"Well, Yoongi had to come up with something. She asked him about his work and why he was gone all the time. He just said we were into real estate and we looked at a lot of property. It made the most sense" Namjoon admitted.
He knew he just committed the worst act against Yoongi. Especially, in a life like this. You have very few that you can trust. Yoongi always made it clear that he only trusted three people. Seokjin, Namjoon and Y/n. As much as he loved his mother, he didn't trust her. She'll say and do anything to keep her "perfect" family. He knew she wouldn't do a thing to hurt him but he knew she had to be loyal to his father. So, if it came between him or his father? It'll always be his father.
"You're smart Namjoon. We are deciding to get into the drug trade and while I'm still in charge, it's already a go. We just need to make sure Yoongi keeps it going once I step down and we need you to look into everyone that's already in the trade and pay them a little visit after we get things settled." Min said.
"It'll benefit the family." his father added.
" I can look into it but I don't think I'll be able to do anything more. Yoongi does not want to get into the drug trade. He told us that months ago and he still stands on that today." Namjoon admitted.
"And that's why we've called you here son. You need to convince him, this can bring in revenue without having to put much out. You are his underboss. If anything, he should trust your judgment." his father told him.
"If he's going to listen to anyone, it'd be you, Y/n, or Seokjin. Y/n still doesn't know what my son does and Seokjin never goes against Yoongi no matter if I'm still boss or not but you? You listen. You're a good kid. You would never tell Yoongi anything wrong, he trusts you. You can convince him." Min said standing.
"Unless...I have to have a little talk with yn. I bet that'll get Yoongi on board real quick" Min said with the same dark glare Yoongi had. Namjoon cursed himself and shook his head 'No'
If that happened, Yoongi would go crazy. Especially if you left him because of that. He'd probably kill everyone except for Seokjin and him.
"No, don't. I'll see what I can do"
~~~~~

"You know I don't want that. You also know I'd never tell you to do something if the risk was great. I'd never do anything that would jeopardize you. Even though I shouldn't be, I consider your feelings for yn and how you don't want to lose her.  Let's just try it out for a month and if it doesn't work or you still don't like it, we'll stop. I know you really don't want to do this but your father is still your boss as well until December. Just hold out a little longer. We're almost there" Namjoon said calmly.

Yoongi rolled his eyes and sighed sharply.

"If this goes to shit, you will be held responsible. No questions asked." Yoongi said before turning from his underboss. "Also.."

Yoongi turned back towards Namjoon.

"If I find out that you speak to my father without speaking to me again. I'll see it to where you can't go anywhere in this world."

Yoongi said coldly which sent chills down Namjoon's spine.

Yoongi didn't want to hurt his best friend but he also felt his best friend wasn't understanding the seriousness of talking about you or anything to his father. Yoongi walks off, retreating to his side of the shared room to get ready for this dinner. Namjoon finally felt like he could breathe, the hardest part was over. At least he thought so.

Once Hoseok gave Jimin and Yongbok the go to pursue you, he went straight into action. Only hours ago but he decided to waste no time. “Felix” Jimin called out as he entered the male's working quarters.

Yongbok stood to his feet in attention “Yes sir?” Jimin chuckled cringing at Yongbok’s “sir”.

“I’m not Taehyung nor am I Hoseok. I don’t like the power trip titles and if we want Miss Nurse to believe we’re related, you should get used to just calling me Jimin.”

Yongbok’s cheeks flushed red. He had always been so respectful regardless of age. Even though Jimin, Hoseok, and Taeyung weren’t that much older than him, he always felt a sense of authority when it came to them. He looked up to them, he wanted to be just like them. He wanted to follow in their footsteps. So whatever they needed him to do, he’d do it with no questions asked. Even if it was to go against his own family.

“I’m sorry si-Jimin. It’s just hard. I respect you guys.”

“I know. But for me, respect is showing loyalty. No matter what. You’ve done that. You already have my respect. It’s why we’ve taken you under our wing. We see potential in you,” Jimin started as he placed all the things he’d gathered about you on the table, including the photo of you and Yoongi which caught Yongbok’s eye instantly.

“That’s the nurse that helped you that one night. Who is she to Yoongi?” he asked remembering the night perfectly. He wasn’t there but he was watching the cameras. When he got word that something happened to Jimin, he instantly figured out what hospital he was at and acquired access to the cameras.

“She’s someone close to Yoongi. She’s his girlfriend or wife, whatever Yoongi decides he wants to call her.” Jimin said looking at the photo that lay in Yongbok’s hands.

“She must know a lot about their plans then if he’s willing to let her be this open. Although a small part of me doesn’t believe that she knows anything at all.”

Jimin hummed, “You think so? Why do you say that?”

“Because, ever since boss had me watch her for you guys, I’ve been studying her persona. She wouldn’t hurt a fly nor be a mob boss’s queen. I’ve watched her care for the worst criminals random people and kids to one of our own. She doesn’t treat anyone differently. She cared for you with the same respect. If she had known and was okay with it, she wouldn’t stay in the medical field. Yoongi would have had her be their personal medic.”

Jimin chuckled and nodded in agreement “You impress me sometimes, Felix.”

“But that’s what we think as well. I’m just too sure why Hoseok is interested in her all of a sudden. We’ve only been back from Korea for a year and he’s back on Yoongi’s trace. Yoongi already told us not to show our faces on his side of town and here we are.” Jimin sighed.

“We should trust the boss. He always knows what he’s doing. He’s the boss for a reason.”

Jimin could argue with that. He trusted Hoseok but it just wasn’t like him to be secretive about something like this. Especially about Yoongi. He had hardly said anything about him after all this time but now, he’s all he can talk about? Jimin felt that you were just an excuse.

“I trust him, of course. There is no questioning that. Back to the task at hand though. How much have you found about her from what you gathered.” Jimin asked sitting on Yongbok’s desk. He quickly pulled up every single file he had on you.

“It’s not much but it confirms what we think about her. She’s as innocent as they come. The only thing she has record-wise is a speeding ticket which was wiped clean. Turns out, she was following the flow of traffic and had no choice but to keep up with the car in front of her and behind her. So the judge let it go. But other than that, she lives up to her nurse status. She graduated top 10 of her class. All A’s. She isn’t rich but her family is well off in middle class. Her father is a manager for idols and her mother owns a small bakery. She has two siblings. Both of them moved to the States but they come here frequently to visit.” Felix explained flipping through different screens on his tablet that connected to the multiple TV screens that were plastered on his wall. Jimin looked at every bit of detail closely.

“Her name is Yn. The only thing I can’t seem to confirm is whether or not she’s Yoongi’s girlfriend or wife. It’s always been hard to find much of anything concerning Yoongi so I didn’t expect to find anything new.” Yongbok Continued. Jimin nodded before pondering on your name a little more.

“No.no this is good. It’s a good place to start. We know where she works, we’ve studied her hours, we know enough. Check and see when she goes back to work, we should start this as soon as we can.”

Yongbok nodded. He sat his tablet on the table before sitting in his desk chair. His fingers danced against his glowing keyboard and his eyes were peering through his black locks that rested slightly over his eyes, focusing on the screens before him.

“I should have it in the next 30 minutes.”

“Good. In the meantime, we should also have one of our soldiers gain some type of access to the hospital at all times for when we can’t. They could keep an eye on things while we aren’t able to.” Jimin added as he lifted off of the male’s desk and dusted his clothes off.

“I’ll work on that as well. I’ll have someone start today so it doesn’t raise too much awareness”

Jimin hummed “Perfect. I shall return. Also,” he started “see if you can look up her high school records.”

Jimin headed out of the office and down the hall, nodding to the passing soldiers as they greeted him. Jimin stopped “Hey Mingi,” he started “go see Yongbok, tell him you’d be perfect for the job”

Jimin didn’t stick around long enough to hear what response the kid had, he didn’t care if he was honest. If the kid knew what was best for him, he’d be at that door already.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Something wasn’t sitting right with you after your call with Yoongi. You couldn’t put your finger on it but you knew, just something wasn’t right. Things are just…not adding up to you anymore. From his office having a digital lock on it, to Yoongi’s unusual outburst about a random guy, and now he’s drunk calling you begging you to tell him that you loved him.
You were still lost in thought, you didn’t even notice Seokjin standing in front of you.
“Uh, Yn?” He called out breaking you out of your train of thought.
“O-Oh! Hey Jin! Good Morning. How’d you sleep?” You asked with a cheery voice causing Seokjin to chuckle. He wholeheartedly can see why Yoongi fell for you. He understood why Yoongi wanted to keep you desperately.
He would too.
“I didn’t get much sleep last night. I had some work to take care of. Did you sleep okay?” He responds as he grabs a coffee mug from the cabinet.
“You should take a break sometime. You can run yourself out if you all keep going like this.” You sighed before taking a sip of your coffee. “But I slept pretty good until..” you started trailing off.
You hadn’t noticed it but Seokjin’s attention turned to you instantly. He had long forgotten about his coffee. While Yoongi was away it was his responsibility to make sure you were entirely safe. He’d hate himself if something happened to you and he was unaware or worse you found out something.
More than that though, Yoongi would probably go psychotic if that happened.
“Did something happen? Why didn’t you come get me?” Seokjin replied protectively which almost surprised you.
“It wasn’t something I thought I had to disturb you for. It’s nothing serious. I promise, I just thought started my cycle” You held back a chuckle seeing Seokjin’s expression change from a serious one to a more nervous one.
“O-oh y-yeah. Maybe you shouldn’t uh… yeah maybe I should be left out of that type of thing-” He stuttered.
“I mean if you are interested to know, I don’t mind giving you a heads up” You joked. Seokjin shook his head immediately.
“No, no, no. I think that’s something only Yoongi should know. You can gladly never tell me about that type of thing” He chuckled nervously.
“I’m just teasing. I would never.” You laughed. “But I do..have a question about something if you don’t mind me asking?”
Seokjin took a sip of his now lukewarm coffee and nodded. “What’s that?”
“When you guys go on your trips for work, do you guys have off time?” You asked.
“Not really. The only time we have ‘off’ is when we are eating or sleeping. If we don’t have anything more to do there, Yoongi’s pretty restless to get back to you. Unless there’s a day in between two work days, we just do work and come right back home.” Seokjin admitted.
“Ah..” you started. “So you guys don’t go out drinking much either?”
Seokjin shook his head. “Hardly ever. We don’t have time for those types of things and I don’t like going out to drink when I can do it at home. Yoongi and Namjoon think the bars are too loud. We are nothing like how we were when we were teens.” Seokjin chuckled.
You glanced at him with a blank stare. Now you were positive something else was going on.
“I’m going to call Yoongi, I’ll be right back,” You said grabbing your phone and heading out of the kitchen, leaving Seokjin with his coffee.
You dashed up the stairs and into your room, closing the door and catching the attention of the nearby maids. Kai included. You dialed Yoongi’s number and paced the floor.
You weren’t mad, you didn’t care if went out or not. You needed to know why his behavior has been so odd lately. Your mind began thinking the worst. You’ve seen things like this in the movies that Yoongi hated to watch with you. Once your partner starts acting off and gets mad for no real reason, they usually are already seeing someone else. Odd, but you couldn’t deny the signs. Finally, Yoongi answered after the second ring.
“Hey Blossom, we’re headed home now-”
“What happened last night?” You got straight to the point no matter how much hearing his voice gave you butterflies.
“What are you talking about? I told you,” he said sternly but still sweetly.
“I’m serious.”
Yoongi grew quiet. He was a little confused more than anything and didn’t know how to address this. He was in the car with Namjoon, Namjoon’s father and his father. All eyes were on him the moment he answered the phone and said ‘blossom’
“I’ll be home in a moment. I will talk to you then.” He said calmly.
“No...I can’t until then. I want to know now. What happened? What did you do last night to make you call me drunk off your ass?” you demanded an answer.
Yoongi pinched the bridge of his nose as his father chuckled.
“I said, I will talk to you when I get home,” Yoongi said trying his best not to allow his father to piss him off to where it’ll make you think he was talking to you.
“Yoongi no. Are you seeing someone else? What is going-”
“YN,” he raised his voice shocking everyone who heard. He decided to ignore the fact that you would jump to that conclusion so quickly. Especially when he has never given you a reason to think something like that. Yoongi sighed hearing your breath hitch a bit. “I will talk to you later.”
You didn’t say anything more, you just hung up the phone.
Yoongi looked at his phone which now displayed his wallpaper of you and him, sighing. He locked his phone and placed it back into his pocket.
Namjoon knew not to ask anything about that at this moment but the fathers could care less.
“I thought you didn’t care about Yn?” Namjoon's father joked.
“No no Kim, remember? He said she doesn’t excite him” Min chuckled to which Kim chuckled and nodded. “Ahh, right.”
Yoongi couldn’t deal with his father any longer.
“Pull the fucking car over,” Yoongi said to which his driver obliged. Min chuckled again.
“Don’t tell me the big boss-to-be is going to leave his car?” Min taunted his son. Yoongi shared the same chuckle with a dark grin.
“Of course not, father. I’m not the one that’s leaving” He lifted his dark eyes to his father. “You two are”
Namjoon’s eyes widen at Yoongi’s boldness. Both Kim’s and MIn’s chuckles ceased
“I played your game. I did what you asked. I got the deal done and as far as I’m concerned that didn’t include my driver being your Uber. One or two things can happen. You can stay and shut the fuck up or you can keep talking and get the fuck out. I’ll accede however you want to continue. How about you Namjoon?” Yoongi turned to Namjoon speaking calmly and hardly phased by their reactions.
“I’m right behind you boss” He smirked.
“You can’t be fucking serious? Do you know who you’re talking to?” Kim snapped.
“Yes sir, I do. The former boss of the Min family. As far as I’m concerned.” He shrugged.”I no longer have to worry about him or the bullshit that comes out of his mouth.”
Min chuckled and nodded.
He didn’t like being disrespected, especially not by his own son but he couldn’t help but be proud of his son. He knew that his father would be proud of the king he created.
“No, no Kim. It’s alright. He’s right. In a few months, he doesn’t have to worry about me or anything I say. I will no longer be the boss. But let’s make something very clear. Yoongi” Min said with a crooked smile.
“I may not be boss and I may not own you anymore-”
“You never owned me. Let’s make that clear.” Yoongi snapped.
“But I created you LET’S NEVER…forget that,” he said leaning forward. “You would be nothing if it wasn’t for me and your grandfather.”
The tension was rising between the father and son. It was getting harder for Yoongi to play along in his father’s game. He was able to bite his tongue about his life being chosen for him, he ignored it when it came to his mother, but he draws the line with you. They all knew what would come from this life. They knew the outcome no matter how ‘good’ one was or how many allies one had. You didn’t. You didn’t have a choice in this life just like him and Namjoon. The only difference is they knew they had no choice, you didn’t know you had one. Yoongi couldn’t stand the power trip his father had. It sickened him. He walks around as if he owns it all.
The fucked up part is that he does.
He blamed no one for his father’s behavior but his grandfather.
Yoongi hated his grandfather. Even before he understood what his father was doing. His grandfather never showed his love for anyone. Not even now, on his deathbed.
“I’ll always be your father. We will always be blood. And whether or not you like it…,” he smirked “You’re just like me. You’re just like your grandfather. You can never get rid of us”
Yoongi’s eyes never faltered but he cringed at the thought of being his father. Min nodded toward Kim.
“Let’s go, Kim. Oh and son just some fatherly advice,” he said opening the door, “You might want to watch those you allow so close to you. You may not think I don’t know everything but there’s always someone willing to fill me in. If I were you...I’d hurry and tell ‘Blossom’ who she’s sleeping next to. You don’t want someone to…spill the beans as they say. Have a good day Son. Namjoon”
The two men left the car without a word more. Yoongi rolled his eyes and looked at his driver.
“Take us home.”
Thirty Minutes later, Yoongi entered his home and headed straight to his room to greet you. He didn’t cognizance anyone else. He was focused on you.
Once entering the room you were leaving the bathroom, completely ignoring him. He reached out and grabbed your waist, stopping you in place. You moved from his grip and continued on your way. He wasn’t having your attitude either. Yoongi gripped your waist again but this time he pinned you against the wall and looked directly into your eyes. He couldn’t help but notice the water dripping from your hair and down your body.
“You wanted to talk. So let’s talk. What on God’s green Earth do you think I could be doing with anyone when I’m not here? When every moment I have of free time I’m either with you or talking to you. For fuck sake, even when I’m working I’m still talking to you when I am able” He asked almost disrespected that you would question him like that.
“You’re being weird! Your behavior from a couple of weeks ago to last night with the drunk calls and texts. This isn’t like you! You were on a work trip but you go and get shit-faced. You’ve never done that! Not even when we go out together. You hardly have a drink if we go out and you regulate mine. I even asked Seokjin. He said you guys don’t go out when you go on these trips but all of a sudden you go out and get drunk like that? At first, that call worried me but now I’m starting to wonder if that’s your guilt eating at you about something!” You admitted.
Yoongi’s eyes softened with a soft sigh. He dropped his hands to his side and took a step back. She’s right. His guilt is eating him alive but it’s not about him messing around with someone else.
“Blossom…why would I ever cheat on you? Does that make any sense? I came home when at the time I told you. I never not answer your calls or texts unless I’m working which even then I still get back to you. The only time I don’t is when I’m either driving or talking to my father. You’re my entire world, my entire universe. Why would I do anything like that to hurt you? I want to marry you one day-” Yoongi’s eyes went wide as your head snapped up to look at him.
“Y-you want to what?” You stuttered.
Yoongi’s cheeks flushed red before gaining his composure.
“I-I want to marry you.”
After talking with Kai and Seokjin after the fight, he came to that conclusion after some thought.
~~~~~~~~~

After talking with you, Kai was furious.

She loved Yoongi as if he was her own. She helped his mother raise him when Min was away. She vowed to stay with him until she couldn’t anymore. She was going to do everything in her power to ensure two things. That Yoongi got his happiness and…he never became anything like Min.

She watched Yoongi come in that night and go to his office. She decided not to say anything to him then, But the next morning she asked to speak to Yoongi as soon as possible.

“What were you thinking?” Kai semi-yelled.

Yoongi and Seokjin hung their heads low avoiding Kai’s gaze.

They hated to get scolded by Kai, even when they were younger. She was motherly and sweet, but her motherly side was scary. It probably scared them more than standing in front of death itself. It was all out of love though.

“I wasn’t…” Yoongi mumbled.

“Clearly. Yn didn’t deserve that. She was heartbroken in that room.” Kai added.

That broke Yoongi. He knew he had done some damage, Yn was still closed off from him this morning. He didn’t expect everything to go back to normal but he didn’t like you being standoffish with him.

“I know Hoseok left a bad taste in your mouth since that night but Yn has no idea about any of that.” Kai sighed.

“I have to agree boss,” Seokjin started, “I told you the moment you decided to pursue this relationship. You can either give her a choice or choose for her. You’ve chosen for her. I told you before things get serious, you need to tell her what her destiny is if she decides to be with you. Here we are lying about everything to accommodate you. Granted, you are the boss and we will follow what you say, but I’m worried that the outcome is going to be a greater loss, than a gain.”

Yoongi couldn’t face either one of them now. He knows they are right.

“You’re right. I should have said something a long time ago but I didn’t think I was going to fall in love with her. I thought after a few months we’d be done and just friends, but here I am years later utterly obsessed with her. I can’t see my life without her. I don’t want to.” Yoongi admitted.

“You may have too.” Kai sighed Yoongi looked at Kai with sad but understanding eyes.

“You need to tell her everything or at the very least what you truly do on these ‘work meetings’,” Seokjin sighed “We know you love her, you’re in love with her. But if you truly love her..you’d tell her before she finds out. Worse if Hoseok or your father decides to tell her.”

Yoongi sat back on the couch, fumbling the small black box in his hands.

“I want to marry her. I want to have a family with her.” He whispers as tears begin to fall down his cheeks.

“Then be honest with her. Start with Hoseok.”

~~~~~~~~~~
“You do? Really?”
Yoongi saw the sparkle in your eyes, he loved that. His being the cause of that made him happy.
“Why do you sound so surprised?” He chuckles.
“Because you don’t talk about things like that and you’re acting weird. I don’t know” You blushed. Yoongi chuckled and wrapped his arms around your waist, giving you a sweet kiss on your lips.
“I’m sorry about that. It’s just that... I want to keep it for a long time, forever if I can. I don’t know what I’ll do if I lose you.” Yoongi sighed rubbing your waist. “And I can’t believe that I found someone I want to get married to. I find myself daydreaming about us having a family and you being pregnant taking our kids to school and shit like that.” Yoongi chuckled which made you giggle “It was just weird for me too.”
“That's cute that you think about things like that.” You smiled. “When did you want something like this to happen?”
“Like yesterday.” Yoongi snorted which caused you to laugh again.
“But I know there’s some things we need to talk about..”
“Oh?” you tilted your head “Like what?”
Yoongi sat down as he pulled you closer to him, sitting you on his lap.
“The reason why I’ve been so on edge is because..someone from my past has popped up again. We have a long history. He was my best friend.” he started.
“That’s a good thing, right? You should invite him over to rekindle” You said playing with the loose strans that framed Yoongi’s face. He sighed shaking his head.
“We aren’t on good terms and I don’t want to rekindle anything. He…hurt me…deeply. A hurt that can never be forgotten. His name is Hoseok.”
You frown softly as Yoongi’s eyes start to water. You gently took Yoongi’s hands into yours, rubbing them softly before bringing them to your lips and kissing them. You can tell that whatever this ‘friend’ did hurt Yoongi and it made sense why it would make him feel on edge with their return.
“What did they do? Were you able to forgive them?”
“We were all so close. It was always Hoseok, Namjoon, and Seokjin, two of our other friends, and I. Every day we would meet up after school since Seokjin, Namjoon, and I went to different schools than us. We would write songs together, dance together, play ball…just have a good time overall. They were the people I was closest to. When I was in school talking to you, I was with them. But that all changed when he set my brother up and didn’t take responsibility for him getting hurt. He had the nerve to blame me for it. All because I would go along with his unreasonable plan. He’s the reason neither of my brothers will speak to me and they are no longer around. My brothers and our other friends decided to stick with him while Seokjin and Namjoon stuck with me. I had never experienced pain like that. I don’t think I ever healed from it either. I think I just like to pretend none of them exist.” Yoongi’s deep voice cracked speaking about his past. “He betrayed us but yet my brothers still chose to go with him. It’s why I don’t allow myself to get close to anyone these days.”
Your heart sank. You always knew Yoongi had two brothers but you found it odd when they would never come to any family functions or why his father pretended Yoongi was his only son.
“O-oh baby…I’m so sorry. Your brothers… do they still communicate with your parents at least?” you asked.
“My father disowned them. He will never talk to them again. My mother still talks to them every once in a while but she never talks about it. She knows how upset it makes my father. They haven’t been back in Korea in years. With this old friend back, it’s only a matter of time before they come around as well”
Yoongi knows he should go deeper. But just this alone was too much for him. How could he possibly talk about something that could make him lose someone else? You cupped your hands on each side of his face before kissing his forehead sweetly.
“I’m sorry for not asking what was going on and just assuming the worst. I couldn’t even imagine something like that happening to me. But..” you started as you lifted Yoongi’s face to look in his eyes. He lifted his glossy eyes to meet yours with his hands wrapping around your waist.
“You don’t have to keep yourself hidden from me…I want every part of you. No matter what. I’ll always be by your side.”
The tears ran down Yoongi’s face like a river stream. Hearing you say those words meant a lot to him. It served him a great deal of comfort even if he knew all that could change once he told you.
“Would you still love me if I was a monster?” he whispered. “If I hurt people?”
You frowned slightly confused.
“You wouldn’t do it without reason.”
Yoongi bit his bottom lip nervously…
He needs to just say it…
“Baby I-”
“I’m sorry to interrupt but it’s time to collect the shipments.” Seokjin entered not fully understanding what was going on.
“Give me a few-”
“No..baby. Go handle what you need to okay? I will be here. We can talk then.” You said sweetly rubbing Yoongi’s face.
“Blossom..I’m a mob boss..”
“Blossom…I’m a mob boss..”
Seokjin and Namjoon exchanged worried glances. They were unsure of how this would go down. You could leave Yoongi on the spot and never speak to him again. They would worried for Yoongi but not just as a boss because ultimately this would be a good thing. If you left he wouldn’t have to hide anymore and he could fully be focused on what’s important concerning the Min family. But they worried about him as a friend. As a brother. Knowing that this would break Yoongi there was no telling how he would be from here on out.
“You’re a…what?” You lower your hands on instinct, not knowing how to react.
There was no way on God’s green earth that the love of your life was a mob boss. You hoped you heard wrong. You needed to have heard it wrong.
“I’m not who you thought I was. I’m not a business man nor am I just a son with rich parents…” Yoongi’s voice started trembling as he confessed. “My family is the Min family. A criminal organization. My grandfather passed it down to my father and my father is passing it down to me…I can’t avoid it as much as I would love to…”
Your heart raced as you sat on Yoongi’s lap, your hands trembling uncontrollably. You had always known there was something mysterious about him, something he kept hidden from the world. Which you respected. Not everything is meant to be shared. But you never could have imagined the truth that lay beneath his enigmatic facade. The weight of his words left you speechless. The man you’ve fallen in love with is not who you thought he was at all. You trusted him with your life…
And he deceived you.
Yoongi’s heart dropped when you pulled your hands away. His grip got tighter around your waist, his hands got sweaty and his face flushed red.
“I’m sorry Blossom. I should have told you a long, long time ago. I just didn’t know how. I didn’t think we would make it this long.”
“D-didn’t think we’d make it this long?” You whispered with a broken cry.
“N-no no. I don’t mean it like that! I just meant that I thought you would have left by now or we wouldn’t be this serious and I wouldn’t have to tell you..”
Your heart sank to your feet and started pounding through your ears. No words came to mind. There was nothing you could say. You just sat there with a blank expression. Fear was slowly running over your body as you remembered his temper tantrum a few weeks ago.
The realization that you’ve been living a lie shattered your heart into a million pieces.
Namjoon and Seokjin exchanged another set of glances, both utterly shocked to say the least. They still couldn’t process Yoongi finally telling you. They knew how much you meant to Yoongi. They heard it every day, they saw it every day. They feared the consequences of Yoongi’s confession.
‘That’s how he really is?’ You thought to yourself.
Your mind raced with many conflicting emotions. Fear gripped your heart not only because of Yoongi but also because of the unknown.
Before standing to your feet, you gently moved Yoongi’s hands away from your waist. His breathing got faster as you backed away from him.
“Blossom..” he pushed himself off of the bed and in front of you.
“I forgot I..I picked up an extra shift today. I need to get ready for work. I’ll see you later tonight.” You said walking to the bathroom and closing the door behind you.
“No. Yn. Please just let me-“ Yoongi said, going behind you but was stopped by Seokjin.
Yoongi looked at the male with anger in his eyes.
“Let me talk to her,” he demanded but Seokjin didn’t let up. “I just need to explain, I need her to understand.”
“It’s probably best you leave her to process everything…” Seokjin whispered.
“You told her something intense, forcing more will only push her away and anything else you say won’t matter right now. Let her process. I’ll have Kai come in and comfort her” Namjoon said.
Tears welled up in Yoongi’s eyes while his face was full of regret. He stood and shook his head.
“No...Tell Jungkook to stand at this door and never to let her from his sight.” Yoongi’s voice was dark but full of worry.
“Yoongi…”
“Do what the fuck that I say and stop questioning me” Yoongi turned to Namjoon before walking out of the room.
Namjoon sighed and shook his head defeated. Seokjin rubbed his back before speaking. “Don’t worry about it. This is something he has to fix. We can’t do anything about it. Let's just support him in any way we can.” Seokjin said leading the male out of the room and behind Yoongi.
Yoongi’s confession was the only thing that was on your mind while you were at work. You were forgetting things, moving slower than usual which isn’t safe in a hospital setting. It got to the point where you needed to ask for help. You couldn’t believe it. More like you didn’t want to believe it.
Sitting at your desk, deep in thought, you didn’t notice the two men standing in front of you.
“Excuse me, ma’am?”
You lifted your head in complete shock.
“Hello. My name is Park Jimin and this is my younger brother Yongbok. I’m sorry to bother you, I know you are busy but I just wanted to come by and meet the woman you helped save my life. I don’t know what would have happened if you hadn’t stepped in.”
Your face softened with a small smile.
“You don’t have to thank me for a thing. I was just doing my job. You should probably thank your friends, they really care about you and were very worried about your well-being.” You recalled that night.
“They told us. If it wasn’t for you who knows what would have happened? You were able to help my older brother and I could never thank you enough.” the other male said. Your cheeks started to heat up as you shook your head.
“I’m only a nurse there wasn’t much I could have done. Your friend told me that they could handle it after my coworker and I were able to stabilize you. I’m glad to see that you are okay. I guess you were able to make it to a doctor in time?” you asked
Jimin hummed. “Yes. My boss has private doctors in the estate so they took good care of me.”
You looked at him surprised “Oh that’s nice. Your boss must care about you a lot then.”
“You can say that. We’re very close. We’ve known each other since we were kids. He better care about me” Jimin joked causing you to giggle a little.
“That'll be very mean of him if he didn’t”
“We just came by to tell you thank you and if there is anything I could help you with-we could help you with..please don’t hesitate to ask us.”
Jimin smiled as he slipped you a small envelope with a piece of paper that had their numbers on it inside along with a check for One Billion Won inside. You took the envelope with a surprised look “O-oh. I don’t think this is necessary. I was j-just doing my job you don’t have to pay me. Besides I can’t legally accept this.”
Your frantic behavior only tickled them. “Too bad, sweet face. I don’t take gifts back. And when it comes to the law, quite frankly I don’t care what they say we can and cannot do. If I want to bless someone with a gift, I can do that.” Jimin smirked.
“I’ll be seeing you around sweet face. Have a good night.” Jimin tapped Yongbok’s arm and nodded his head towards the door before walking away with Yongbok leaving you a small wink as they left.
Jungkook reported the whole encounter to Yoongi.
“It’s the same guy from that night. I just don’t know who the other one is.”
Yoongi stood in the middle of the warehouse watching his men move the different shipments. His blood was boiling and his temper was rising. He wasn’t sure if Hoseok knew who you were but now he was certain.
He knew exactly who you were to him and he was going to stop at nothing to mess with him once again.
“Save the camera footage and send it to me as soon as possible. What is Yn doing?”
Jungkook flipped through the camera feed on your floor until he finally found you “She’s helping a patient get in their room. Now she’s heading back to her desk.”
Yoongi sighed before nibbling on his bottom lip.
“Is there anything else that’s going on?”
“Nothing major. The only thing that’s new is we got a new security guard. He just got hired before I got here, it seems”
~~~~~~~

One hour before.

Jungkook was doing his rounds from floor to floor before stopping at his office which is only a few doors down from the nurses station conveniently. So while he was headed to his office he waved to your direction to which you gladly waved back.

Once he walked to his desk, he saw a red folder sitting there. He carefully looked through it and saw it was an application for a new guard. The hospital was short on staff not just with the nurses but also with guards. One guard would have to take over over 5 floors or a whole side of the hospital. It was hard work but it was much easier than doing the work most did for Yoongi.

He quickly became head guard in the short time he was there so whenever there was a new recommendation for a new guard, they would have to go through Jungkook to get the job.

“Song Mingi?” Jungkook said to himself.

Yoongi instructed him to send over all applications to him before offering the job but from what this application read. He was already hired and already here to work. The knock on the door confirmed that breaking Jungkook’s train of thought.“Hello, I’m Song Mingi and today is my first day. Please teach me everything you know” the man bowed.

Jungkook chuckled nervously and shook his head. “You don’t have to bow to me. The job is fairly easy. Just protect the patients and staff the best you can. Nothing really happens besides your occasional drunks and upset patients so you really shouldn’t have to worry. If you have any problems just call me on the radio. I’ll manage. I’m the leader of this unit.”

Mingi nodded with a hum. “Yes sir. Where should I begin?”

“For the time being, until I find a unit for you to work on, you can patrol the downstairs unit. Don’t worry about the cameras..I’ll handle that” Jungkook said turning back to his desk.

Mingi cursed himself in his head. This was going to be harder than he thought. His sole purpose was to gain complete access to the cameras while having access to Yn. With his being in a different unit and no access to the cameras, he wasn’t going to be of much help.

“Is there any way I can work on this unit?” Mingi asked which sound was off Jungkook’s mental radar. He turned to Mingi and frowned.

“Is there any reason why?” Jungkook asked.

“Well my mother often comes to the hospital and she’s always on this floor, I just want to be closer to her. Just in case she’s ever here.” Mingi replied.

Jungkook’s heart was heavy. He hadn’t seen his parents since he started working for Yoongi. He always just sent gifts or money every week. He knew his mother would want to see him verse the money and gifts but he no longer had the time.

And it was best that he kept mafia life and his parents as far from each other as he possibly could.

“I’ll see if I can make that happen…”

~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Okay? So? who is he?’ Yoongi asked clearly irritated.
“I don’t know much of anything about him. I just know the basics. His name is Song Mingi, he’s 24 and he has a mother that comes to the floor Yn and I work on. But other than that, that’s all I know.” Jungkook said truthfully.
“I don’t care, under any circumstances should he be working that unit. I only want you on that floor. Do you understand me?” Yoongi said bypassing every other word that came out of Jungkook‘s mouth.
“Y-yes sir”
Yoongi hung up the phone and continued to watch every move his soldiers made.
“We’re almost done, sir. What do you want us to do?”
“Talk to Namjoon about that. He’ll direct you”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You stepped through the front door, exhaustion weighing heavy on your shoulders after a long day at work. Your mind was filled with thoughts of the work day but you were more worried about how your life was about to take an unexpected turn. You still couldn’t wrap your head around Yoongi. You hoped by taking a late shift and coming home early in the morning, Yoongi would be too tired to talk or go off to bed since it was 4 in the morning.

You could only dream…

As you turned from closing the door, you found Yoongi standing there, his face etched with worry. You were surprised. Yoongi took a deep breath, his eyes searching yours for a moment before finally speaking.

“Where have you been? I’ve been waiting for you.”

“I was at work. You know that” You said plainly. Your tone of voice killed Yoongi and tears threatened to leave his eyes, but he managed to sneak them away.

“Blossom…I’m-”

"How could you keep this from me?" your voice cut him off, trembling with a mix of anger and hurt. "We promised to always be honest with each other, Yoongi. I was always honest with you, about everything…how could you break that promise?"

The room fell into an eerie silence as Yoongi listened to your words. They pierced his heart as he remembered the promise you made to one another.

“It’s a dangerous world I live in,” he started with a soft voice “I never wanted you to be a part of this world, Yn. I thought by keeping you in the dark, I could protect you. I loved how you made everything feel so, peaceful. You made me feel like I wanted a normal life. I was wrong, and I'm sorry. I just didn’t know how to tell you."

You scoffed and shook your head.

“Blossom, I love you with everything in me. You mean more to me than I mean to myself. I can’t see my life without you here with me”

“Yeah, and I can’t see my life full of violence and horrors. I’ve had my fill already which you knew that” you said with a heavy voice.

Namjoon and Seokjin were watching from the staircase. The moment they heard you and Yoongi speaking they came out to make sure they supported their friend.

“What does she mean by that?” Jungkook asked whispering, startling the two men.

“I’m not too sure if I’m honest” Seokjin answered softly.

Yoongi’s heart shattered at the memory of small bits of your childhood that you shared with him.

“That’s why I didn’t want to tell you. I wanted to protect you and shield you from that life. Blossom, I still can. No one has to know about you. You can just stay here and be safe and protected-”

“That’s why you’ve been asking me to quit my job? It's all starting to make sense now.” you laughed to yourself walking past the three men and up the stairs, no longer wanting to hear anything else from Yoongi.

But he wasn’t going to give up that easily.

He sped past the three men as well and headed right behind you, slamming the door behind him.

“Blossom, please. Just understand-”

“Yoongi, I need some time to process all this. You lied to me. Basically since the time I’ve known...I realize that I never really knew you. I don’t think I ever knew you” You said defeated.

Yoongi shook his head as he pulled you to him.

“That’s not true. You know me. The real me. This is the only part you don’t know about me. Everything else you know.” Yoongi looked deep into your eyes hoping you’d see the truth.

You sighed softly as you looked away from Yoongi.

“I love you so much. I’ll give you the time you need but please don’t leave me…” Yoongi pleaded.

His tears caused you to tear up as well. His hands rubbed your sides softly as you sighed once more.

“This is just a lot…my life changes from here on out. This is a lot. You said this was passed down to you. That means if were have a son it’ll be passed down to him. I don’t know if I’d want that for my kid…”

“Baby, I don’t want that for our kid” Yoongi admitted, “I would never force our child to live a life like this. Never. I would end it all the moment I couldn’t do anymore”

“...What if I was pregnant?”

“I would protect you and my child with my life. Nothing would happen to you or them.”

“What if I’m pregnant right now?”

~~~~~~~~~
“Min..I don’t want Yoongi to take over this..’job’ as you call it. We’ve lost two sons, I don’t want to lose another.” Yoongi’s mother pleaded with her husband.
Min only ever showed emotion to her and only her but he never changed his mind for her like Yoongi would for you.
“As far as I’m concerned, Yoongi is our only son. He is the heir to inherit this. He’s the only one I trust, fully.”
Min trusted no one. He didn’t even trust his own wife or his best friend Kim.
Yoongi always stood for what he believed and although he did lie about you in the beginning, Min knew it was from pure intentions. He knew Yoongi would do nothing to hurt him nor bring dishonor to the family. And by the way, Yoongi didn’t take shit from him, he knew he wouldn’t take any shit. Min believes Yoongi can elevate the Min Family but he needs to push him to it. He needed to push him into a situation that would alter his thinking. That can genuinely force him to think like a mob boss.
“Yoongi doesn’t want this. And you know that. Why can he have a normal life?”
“Yoongi is well aware that his life will never be normal no matter what he chooses to do in life. If he stays or goes, his life will always be in danger. I never wanted that for my son but what other choice do I have? This is the only way I can protect him.” Min admitted.
“I love this life. I love the money and the lifestyle. But I know my son is different than me. I know he doesn’t love this. He loves the money but he doesn’t like how we get it. Which I understand. This is all I know and this is all I’m good at. I know my son is full of talent, he could have made it without me but this is all I have to pass down to him.” Min continued.
Yoongi’s mother placed her hands on her husband’s chest sighing softly.
“He really loves Yn. What happens if there comes a time he has to choose?”
Min sighed
“He better choose the right choice”
Silent Grace| Viii: "It's Just Business"
Silent Grace| Viii: "It's Just Business"
The room filled with silence as Yoongi waited for a response.
He would love to say he’d be over the moon excited if you were carrying his baby but he couldn’t say that.
He would do everything in his power to protect the both of you but that would only mean his father would hound him about raising his kid to be like him. Min already is on his case about having a baby, imagine how he’d be if you were pregnant.
“Well, are you?” Yoongi asked.
“Well, no-but I was late this month so it could have been a possibility…” You trailed off. Yoongi couldn’t help the relieved expression that painted his face, that hurt you more than it should have. “Y-you’re relieved?”
“Yes and no,” Yoongi started “I’m sad that we aren’t expecting but I’m relieved because I know babies change everything. I just told you about my work, we still have to get through that before even thinking about a family or marriage right now.” he finished defeatedly.
“...did you mean it..when you said you wanted to marry me?” you asked softly. Yoongi nodded as he pulled you into his arms to hold you tight. “I wanted to marry you the moment we hit our first year but…this was holding me back.”
You laid your head on his chest feeling the same sense of comfort and security you’ve always felt. You needed to stay in his arms. You needed to.
“If we get married…what does that mean for us? Are things going to be the same or will you grow from me?” You asked. Yoongi pulled away just enough to look you in your eyes.
“It wouldn’t change a thing. Blossom…I am in love with you and I don’t want to see myself without you next to me.”
Yoongi was one hundred vulnerable with you. He never felt this way about anyone he had ever dated. He needed you to know that. You needed him to know...
That you felt the same.
“I don’t want to see myself with anyone that’s not you either, Yoongi. But I need to know what I’m getting myself into…” You said looking down at you.
“And you will. Everything. From here on out but…you have to promise me something..”
“Anything..”
“Once I let you in one hundred percent, you can never repeat anything you see or hear to anyone..and you have to leave the hospital..for your safety.”
Yoongi looked at your saddest expression before continuing. “I know how much you love nursing but I can’t risk you getting hurt and losing you forever.”
You nodded avoiding Yoongi’s gaze. “Okay…”
Yoongi lifted your chin before leaning down and kissing your lips sweetly.
“Thank you, baby..”
You and Yoongi talked a lot that night. As Yoongi unraveled more of the truth, your heart softened, finally realizing the weight he had carried all these years. It must have been hard to hold such a responsibility at a young age. The man you loved had been burdened by his father’s past, trapped in a world he never asked for. Your anger began to dissipate, replaced by a glimmer of understanding.
“In all honesty, I liked what the mafia brought. I’m not going to deny that. I had everything I could ever need and more. I didn’t want anything and my needs were met. Who wouldn’t want that? But when it came to finding out how…. I just didn’t like the process of obtaining such assets. I wasn’t always aware of my father’s business. From my understanding, I always assumed we were rich. My grandfather always gave my dad hundreds of thousands of dollars just because, and he does that to me now. I hardly talk to my grandfather but he still gives me an allowance like we have the best relationship in the world. My father and I don’t agree on much but we do agree on the pressure his father gives us. He always demanded so much of my father and I know once he returns he’s going to do the same to me. Growing up, I remember my grandfather always inviting us to his house parties and it’s always been that up until he went to the States. None of us had any reason to be there, the kids anyway. I remember meeting Namjoon and his father there. We became very close despite him being younger than I am.” Yoongi rubbed his hands on his knees as he reminisced on the old days. A small smile crept on his face remembering his teenhood.
“I learned about my father and the mafia when I was 14 or 15. I was supposed to know but Namjoon and I were too noisy for our own good,” he chuckled and shook his head before sighing. “Although, I laugh about it now. It was the most terrifying day of my life. It’s what shaped my personality and caution.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Mom says I could stay the night if that’s okay with your mom,” Namjoon said laying back on Yoongi’s bed “I just have to go and my stuff for school in the morning”

Yoongi nodded with a slight chuckle as he placed his pen down onto his journal.

“You might as well get stuff for the whole week. You never just stay the night and my mom never cares” Yoongi teased. Namjoon laughed.

“I know. I’ll grab things for a few days, then check in with my mom when I go back for more clothes then call it even” Namjoon planned.

“Whatever. If we’re going to go to the movies later then we need to leave now to get your stuff.” Yoongi said closing his black notebook, placing it into his drawer next to his bed, and locking it with the key that hung around his neck.

“Are you still writing music in that book of yours?” Namjoon asked following behind Yoongi once they got downstairs. Yoongi wrote a note for his mom to let her know he’d be back later before turning to Namjoon.

“I write more than just songs. I write everything in there.” Yoongi admitted. “That’s a diary, you know that right?” Namjoon teased.

Yoongi sucked his teeth.

“It’s a book that I write in” he corrected. Namjoon shrugged.

“...also known as a diary” Namjoon snorted as Yoongi hit his shoulder with a small laugh.

“Whatever, Joon. Just make sure you also grab stuff for this weekend for my grandfather’s party”

“Yoon!” a small voice interrupted Joon from answering.

Yoongi and Namjoon stopped, turning to face Yoongi’s younger brother.

“What?” the older male turned completely to his younger brother who’s cheeks flushed red getting his brother’s attention.

Yoongi’s younger brother adored him. He always wanted to be with him even though sometimes it annoyed Yoongi, he also secretly loved it.

“Can I-I come? To the movies with you?” He stuttered causing Yoongi to chuckle.

Yoongi never tells his brothers no. To him that was his parents’ job. Whatever his brothers wanted, he did just that. Min wasn’t as involved in their life as he should be so Yoongi promised his father that he would be.

“Of course. You can always come with me. Why don’t you get ready? Namjoon and I will be back in 20, maybe 30 minutes tops.” Yoongi smiled watching his brother’s face light up.

The youngest brother came running in “CAN I COME TOO?” causing Namjoon to laugh.

“Why not? Just be ready when we get back” Yoongi waved before heading out the door with Namjoon.

“You’re a good older brother Yoongi,” Namjoon said as he kicked the rocks that lay on the pavement.

Yoongi shrugged “They’re not that bad. They just whine a lot and expensive” Namjoon laughed.

“You love them.”

“It would be fucked up if I didn’t Joon”

The boys continued on their way to Namjoon’s house talking and laughing about any and everything that came to mind. But it all came to an end when the boys saw two men standing in the middle of their path.

Namjoon didn’t live far probably a 20-minute walk at most. They live in the same Neighborhood, he just lived a few streets behind Yoongi. Everyone had a big home in this community, everyone threw parties. Everyone knew everyone.

Neither boy knew who these men were and neither cared. Not until they came closer and realized neither man moved from the middle of the sidewalk

“What’s is these assholes’ problem?” Namjoon cursed. Yoongi frowned and looked behind him, noticing the two men following them.

Yoongi stood closer to Namjoon and whispered “I think we should head to my grandfather’s house.”

Namjoon agreed almost immediately “I think that may be a good idea. He lives right down the street right?” Both boys had their eyes set on Yoongi’s grandfather’s home. He wasn’t there but he and his father should be there afterward. At the most an hour or two.

The boys turned sharply into the empty street the moment they noticed Yoongi’s grandfather’s home just a few houses down. The men stood directly in their tracks with a menacing smile.

“Look Min’s little boy. He’s grown all up” one man said.

“He looks just like him, and so does Kim’s boy,” the other said.

“What are you two doing out here so late? It’s not safe out here” the third man said standing behind Namjoon placing his large hands on the boy’s shoulders and making him freeze in place.

“Yeah, don’t you know what time it is? Kids like you should be sleeping but! Since you’re here we should have a bit of fun.” the last man, clearly the one who’s running everything said wrapping his arm around Yoongi’s shoulder.

Yoongi had a great poker face. He kept his blank appearance but he was shitting bricks.

“We have to meet my grandfather at his home. We need to go” Yoongi said sternly making the older men laugh.

“Oh? Senior’s home? Maybe we should visit the old geezer huh fellas?” they all laughed again.

The one man behind Yoongi placed his free arm around Namjoon’s shoulder, pulling the boys closer to him and walking forward.

~~~~~~
“Have you seen big brother? Did he and Joon come back?” Yoongi’s younger brother asked his parents.
Min was too busy on the phone to pay attention which only made their mother angry.
“No honey. I haven’t seen them walk through the door. Why?” their mother asked.
“Oh, big brothers are going to take us to the movies with them! They told us to be ready in 20 minutes but it’s been 2 hours already” he frowned.
“What if they saw the movie without you guys?” Min asked hanging up the phone, annoyed with his youngest whines.
“Big brother wouldn’t do that! He never forgets us!”
“Yeah! And Joon was getting clothes from his home! Why would he bring them with him to the movies?” the youngest frowned.
“Quit the damn whining. I will call Kim and ask. If they went without you, I’ll kick Yoongi’s ass for forgetting about you and take you to a movie myself” He said poking their cheeks and making them giggle.
He picked up the phone and dialed Kim’s number.
“Yeah, boss?”
“Kim, has my knuckled-headed son come to your place?”
“Funny, I was going to ask you the same about Joon. I know they were together but Area said they were at your place and hadn’t seen them walk through the door since 12 this afternoon.”
Min frowned “What do you mean she hadn’t seen them since 12?”
The room fell silent from Min’s words. Worry was plastered on the faces of Yoongi’s brothers.
“I called Ju-Won, he’s looking to see if they went to the movies. He’s calling now, I will call you back”
“Make it fucking quick. This is my fucking son.” He whispers through his teeth hanging up the phone and dropping it on the counter before lowering his head,
Only moments went by but it felt like forever, Kim finally called back but his voice was frantic.
“They’re in the fucking hospital fucking clinging to fucking life! Someone found them in the alleyway by the casino!”
Min didn’t say a word he dropped the phone and grabbed his keys, rushing out the door.
“Mommy?” the youngest asked, “is big brothers okay?”
The boys' mother had no idea what to even say, Min didn’t tell her anything. All she could do was put on a brave face.
“Of course they’re okay! Your father will bring them home. Let’s get ready for bed and catch a couple of movies on tv” she said leading the two boys upstairs.
~~~~~~~~

Min rushed through the hospital doors looking for Kim with some of his soldiers behind him.

“Where is my fucking son? Where is he?!” Min said losing his cool.

Min’s heart almost stopped when he saw Yoongi and Namjoon lifeless on a stretcher being wheeled through the hospital. He ran to the stretcher pushing the man out of the way to see his son.

Min looked over the boy’s bruised body and face. He had never seen his son in this state. He never heard his son’s voice so broken and defeated. Yoongi’s eyes were bouncing around, trying to focus on one thing but all he could see were bright lights and what felt like thousands of people surrounding him. He kept calling for his parents.

“Yoongi! Yoongi! Appa’s here” Min cried grabbing Yoongi’s hand and running allowing side him. “Appa’s here”

Yoongi fixed his gaze on his father, it was the clearest thing he saw.

“Dad” Yoongi cried “Dad I tried to protect Namjoon. Th-they were too strong”

Min’s heart broke watching his oldest in pain and shedding tears like this.

He ran his fingers through Yoongi’s hair.

“Shhh..shhh.. I know. I know. You’ve done well.”

“They knew who you and grandfather were. They knew Kim.” Yoongi cried holding on to his father’s hand tightly as things started to black around him.

“Sir we need to get him back immediately. He’s losing a lot of blood right now”

Min looked at the man with tears running down his face gripping the man’s jacket tightly.

“You better save him. If my son or my nephew loses a gain of hair, I will kill you.”

“Y-yes sir we will do everything we can sir.”

“Dad…d-dad don’t go. I’m s-scared. Wh-where’s Namjoon” Yoongi said, holding onto his father tightly.

“Son, Son, son..listen. They are going to take good care of you okay? You just relax. I’m going to be here right when you get out okay? Namjoon is going to be fine. Trust me”

Yoongi nodded, terrified for his life.

Min watched as they carried the two boys away. Kim was an emotional wreck.

“My only son Min. My only son” he cried. Min grabbed Kim’s arms

“Pull it together, right now. They will be okay. We need to find the cowards who did this”

Min couldn’t believe someone tried to take his son’s life.

“You should have started preparing Yoongi and Namjoon for this moment. I don’t blame them, I blame you two”

Min turned to face his father.

“My wife and I agreed that we would let him live peacefully until he turned 18 and obtained the Family,” Min replied bitterly.

“And look what that has done for you? It might have cost my grandson’s life.” His father yelled.

“You two should have given me the boys as I requested. They wouldn’t be in the situation right now”

“Father, with all due respect, I am more concerned about my son’s health. You didn’t give a fuck about me so I understand it’s hard for you to understand. I love my children and I only want the best for them.”

“I wanted the best for you too, but you didn’t understand. But after today?” his father sighed “You will understand why I was hard on you and this never happened.”

Min couldn’t care less about the words his father said he was more concerned about his son.

~~~~~~
Min walked through the door.
Yoongi’s mother jumped up and walked to her husband.
“Where’s Yoongi and Namjoon? Are they alright?” she asked frantically.
“They were targetted tonight. Some bastard roughed them up. They will be okay. They should be coming home in the next few days.” Min said plainly as he walked up the long staircase that wrapped his grand entrance and led to the hallway. “Where are my younger sons”
“Th-they are sleeping. I need to know about Yoongi. What do you mean they were roughed up? How bad was it?” Yoongi’s mother asked following Min to his office as he gathered his weapons and such. “M-Min…baby..what are you doing?”
“I’m handling business, you go to bed.”
~~~~~~~~

“My father protected me that night but it always opened up a world of worry and fear. That’s why I didn’t engage in school activities as much. Despite having what one would call friends, they weren’t friends. I didn’t trust them and when I met you, I wanted to trust you but I didn’t let myself. I had no idea who those men were but they ended up being someone who owed my father and tried to take the easy way out.”

Hoseok heard Yoongi’s words from his phone.

Unknowest to you, Jimin and Yongbok, Hoseok had Taehyung place a small mic into the envelope that Jimin handed you.

“I didn’t think he’d tell nor he’d tell her about your father,” Taehyung said surprised. Hoseok was pissed.

“It’s his fucking fault why my father is dead. He still won’t admit it.” Hoseok’s voice was full of hurt.

Yoongi and Namjoon were his best friends along with Seokjin, Jimin, and Taehyung. He didn’t think the little blow-up they had in their late teens to early 20s would result in them killing his father. Jimin felt for Hoseok but he was pissed that he was used to getting this information.

“You know if you wanted this information you could have fucking said something instead of tricking me into giving her a fucking bugged envelop.” Jimin scoffed.

“That’s the least of our worries Jimin.” Taehyung snapped “Besides you’re acting as if you own this bitch something. We don’t give a fuck about her, we’re targeting Yoongi and his bastard father.” Taehyung snapped again.

“For fucking what? For shit, it didn’t know about?! You two are mad because they killed your fathers but you’re fucking forgetting they never knew that. If you feel that badly about it kill their fathers” Jimin spat.

“As fucking if they give a damn? Yoongi hasn’t gotten along with his dad since he told him he couldn’t become a fucking songwriter, Namjoon doesn’t care what the fuck his dad does since he’s so far up Min’s ass” Taehyung spat back

“Shut the fuck up! Both of you!” Hoseok yelled causing the two men to roll their eyes and take Yongbok by surprise. Mingi kept quiet as he looked on.

“I couldn’t fucking care less about this argument. Jimin, Taehyung is right. It doesn’t matter to me if they knew or not. As I see it, It’s just business”

The Happy Ones|Kim Taehyung
The Happy Ones|Kim Taehyung

                                                   " A happy face means a happy place!"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A World of hurt. Pain. Chaos and lies. A place that Taehyung knew too well. From the time he was a young child, it's been constant heartbreak and despair. Once one storm came and went, another would roll in, not allowing him to take a breath, not even a second. And once he thought he had found a friend or a companion...it was always too good to be true. They always used him and took him for granted.
Most would fall into their pity and accept their fate. But to Taehyung, this was his opportunity to change the world around him...and create a new one.
He studied for years. Became an activist. Even went as far as becoming a general to gain some type of control over the dreadful town, an even more dreadful country. But even if he was well respected and never in need of a thing, it still wasn't bringing him happiness. People still found ways to hurt him and make him feel less than despite him working hard and being respectful. People don't think like him. They didn't have the capacity to do so.
And that's the problem.
After all these years he finally figured out, that it wasn't him. It was everyone else. No matter how much light you throw into the world, darkness is always bound to be present. He was the light and everyone around him was the darkness. He figured...
"If everyone thought as I do, or better yet not think at all, no one would be hurt. Pain and suffering can't possibly exist if you can't think. Or if you can't remember your past."
"A happy person with no history"
He decided to change the world as you knew it. He decided to create something that would erase life's "happy accidents". It would be like Bob Ross waking up one morning and creating his own world. It's perfect and since he was well respected and looked up to, it wasn't too hard for him to get everything he needed to begin his New World 2.0 project. After, all the tests, all the fails, and trials. He finally got his solution. One simple pill. One pill to solve life's biggest problems.
It was a mind-altering pill. Once consumed, you were met with a state of pure bliss. Nothing, not even a bounced check could bring you anger. You as well as every encounter on this pill became...
Unbelievably chipper.
Even your sight changed and the world around you became bright and shining. Glistening with happiness and peace. Few people reported that they saw happy fairies and such.  You were in a complete bliss of LA LA land.
Amazing right?
Of course, it is. Who wouldn't want to be happy all the time? Who wouldn't want instant happiness with just one pill? Who would dare go against everything happy?
Who wouldn't want to forget their past?
 "Finally..." Taehyung took his seat in front of a microscope in his pristine laboratory, something that he had put together once he graduated, he felt accomplished
You agreed with Taehyung's point of view. You thought that happiness is a choice but it shouldn't be something that's so hard to obtain. But as you continued to work alongside Taehyung, you started to see things that were a bit...off.
Many of the testers would forget simple things like locking their doors, and where they may have placed their keys. Some forgot how to tie their shoes or their shoes altogether. It wasn't too big of a concern but you did find it odd since this drug was only to change your mood, not alter your mind. Since the pill was still in its early stages, you thought with more work and research it would fix itself. But you still told Taehyung about it, just so he's aware.
"Everything is moving smoothly. The only slight issue would be that they're becoming forgetful. It's mainly small things like locking doors and tying shoes. It'll come back to them after a few moments but they forget every time after taking the pill. It's not a pressing matter but I thought I'd let you know." You said holding onto your clipboard as both you and Taehuyng observed the testers. He took your findings and read over them closely, followed by a smile.
"That does not concern me and it should concern you either. Some things are okay to forget...as long as they're happy darling. That's all we care about."
He handed you back your clipboard and gave you a reassuring smile, heading to the exit, leaving you to finish up your work before leaving yourself. You sighed and turned back to the tester to get a better observation. You saw something you hadn't realized before.
While on the pill, their pupils were significantly smaller than normal and they had a falsified smile plastered on their faces. The smile for sure didn't look genuine, it looked like a smile you would give to someone you didn't care for but you had to be kind. It kind of freaked you out a bit.
Nevertheless, they all reported being happy and joyful.
Maybe even too happy and joyful.
As long as they stayed in this phase, it wouldn't be too bad.
It's too late now to make any changes, in just a few weeks you will be presenting this supplement. You can't turn back.
~~~~~~~~~~~

20201320

Taehyung put out an ad offering money and the chance to be in a magazine that wanted to interview him and the testers to anyone who was willing to try out Joy. The conditions were simple.

All they had to do was show up and take the joy, then go on with their daily lives. Then they or their family would come and give reports on how they felt (and)or how they reacted to things.

Especially negative things.

You greeted the townies like you did every morning, handing their preferred flavor of joy. Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla, or on special occasions, mixed berries.  Stopping at Clara, a newlywed and new mother, you smiled, "Hello Clara, how's the baby?" To your surprise, she frowns, rather confused.

"Baby? Who had a child beloved?" she asked genuinely causing you to let out a small laugh, thinking she was just pulling your leg.

"No seriously, what's it like being a mother? How's baby Liam?" you asked again handing her the supplement and finally seeing her confused face. "Mmm," she started.

"I think you have me mistaken for someone else love, I haven't got a child. I hardly have a spouse darling" She responded, taking the joy and leaving you dumbfounded.

You knew some things would be forgetful but a child? Especially a child she sees every single day? How could one forget a child especially one that they carried for nine months?

He is the smartest man in town. Too smart, some would say. He used to work with Taehyung until they had a little disagreement over the terms and agreements. Around the same time, Joon got an amazing offer to work on the council, so leaving wasn't that hard. Along with Kim Seokjin, they make the decisions according to the towns they are over. So, Namjoon will be the golden ticket to get this supplement passed.

Sadly, Namjoon didn't agree with the "joy" pill. He didn't like the fact of someone dictating someone's happiness, even if it promoted safer environments. He thought happiness should come to someone voluntarily, not forced. He hated that you were working on this project because he didn't want to step on your toes. He saw how proud you were. He knew you had good intentions but he knew Taehyung did not.

"How was work princess? Anything new?" He asked rubbing small circles against the middle of your back.

You hummed, "Work was the same as usual although something weird did occur today." Namjoon raised his eyebrow slightly before answering, "Like?"

"You know Mrs. Johnson is one of the 20 that we've pulled to try out Joy right? Well, today I asked her about her baby but she told me that she didn't have one. She even implied that she wasn't married. She seemed completely confused when I asked." You said wrapping your arm around Joonie's torso and holding onto him tightly. His hand slightly paused in the middle of your back as you continued.

"Is that right?"

"Mmm, yeah. Either she seriously lost her mind or she's an amazing actress."

"It's actually funny that you said that," Joon frowned, "I was talking to Ty'Rik earlier this afternoon and he told me Clara wasn't herself." You sat up a little, laying your chin gently on Joon's shoulder. "Yeah? What all did he say?"

"She's been rather forgetful," Joon continued. "She has no real grasp of reality. She's still her positive self but it's more overbearing. He could speak about something realistically, not so negative or positive and she'll become angry. "

You frowned and listened to your fiancÊ's words. "Is that a side effect?" He asked. You shook your head.

"Well yes and no. Being forgetful, yes, unfortunately, but being overly positive and offended when someone says something negative isn't. Joy is supposed to suppress those negative feelings, making them disappear altogether. Even if someone around you is being negative, it shouldn't have an effect on a person that's on Joy."

The wheels in Joon's head were turning. If he had any doubts about stopping this thing from being on the street. He didn't anymore. He didn't want to go against you nor did he want to discredit all the hard work you and Taehyung did, but day by day he was hearing more things about this Drug that didn't sit right with him. As much as he was proud of how far you've come, he couldn't risk the lives of the townies.

"Maybe this isn't a good idea, my love."

"It's still being worked on! It'll be perfected soon" You kissed your future husband.

He wanted to believe you. But sadly he couldn't.

The day of the presentation came and you were nervous. You and Taehyung had been perfecting this for a year and it all comes down to this.  Of course, it still has its flaws still, but it was nothing that you couldn't fix. You were proud of this and you knew Taehyung was just as proud.

"Why should I make this...supplement a part of everyday living? Why can't we just leave it up for the townies to choose, whether or not they want to? It seems a little demanding"

Seokjin asked looking over the paperwork with Joon. Namjoon kept looking through the data, the reports, your notes, and Taehyungs. It didn't match up. Your notes were very similar to Taehyung's but very different from what you would tell him.

"Because this pill will not only keep the people of this town happy and content, it'll keep the crime rates down, no one will have to worry about their safety, their belongings. If everyone is happy and getting along, there won't be any need to worry. This will be the safest town on earth for children, women, and men alike! Who wouldn't want to live in peace? It's like living in Heaven before you die and you..."

Taehyung smiled and sat back in his chair before continuing, "You'll be the one man on this forsaken earth, That has 100 percent control over his people. Everyone, everyone, will be dying to know how you did it. How-"

 "You speak of the townies as if they're puppets, in need of control. They are not." Joon interrupted.

Almost instantly, your eyes shot right at Joon's, pleading with him not to go any further. "I assure you, it's not like that," You said cheerfully, deeply hoping Joon would leave it where it was.

Taehyung chuckled, rubbing your shoulders. "No, no. Not puppets, that would be rude of me. I see the townies as people that need a bit more guidance." Joon adjusted himself in his chair.

"So shoving a mind-altering drug down their throat is the way to do it?"

"Mind-altering? That's insane, that would make me a monster. I don't want to change their mind, I want to change the way they think. Think of it as you going to a bar and having a drink with friends or a lovely night out with your stunning, beautiful wife, you know, Something fun but not all the memorable?" Taehyung smirked.

Your head snapped at Tae frowning. Joon opened his mouth to speak but Seokjin raised his hand and looked over at Joon. "I understand you are concerned Joon, People should have the choice if they choose to participate,"

Joon nodded. "However," Seokjin continued, "I think we should give it a test run, just to see how it goes. It shouldn't be too harmful How long does it take effect?"

"It's effective immediately. As soon as you take it, it induces happiness and euphoria, it shouldn't affect everyday life" you said, "It's just like taking a vitamin daily, or as needed."

Namjoon couldn't believe what he was hearing. He didn't want to step on your toes or anything but he couldn't believe you or Seokjin couldn't see through Taehyung's empty promises. Displeasure was all over his face, and he didn't care to hide it.

"You can't be serious? Mrs. Johnson forgot about her child and her husband. Is that not concerning enough?" Joon whispered to Sekojin.

Seokjin nodded before turning to Taehyung.

"It's my understanding that Mrs. Johnson has shown reports of extreme forgetfulness. Forgetting her young child and husband. What do you have to say for that?"

You were choked up. You didn't think Namjoon would go back to Seokjin and tell him what you've told him in confidence. Even Taehyung was taken by surprise but he couldn't let it show that long.

"Yes, that is true. Mrs. Johnson is a rare case. We're running a few tests to see if they are underlining effects that we've missed with the batch she had but I assure you, that the new batch does not have the same effect."

Seokjin turned to Namjoon and whispered "Listen, I say we give them a month, see how it works, and then allow the townies to decide if this is a great choice. Besides," he paused looking at you then back at Joon. "I don't think you want to upset the future wife"

"My fiancee's and I relationship has nothing to do with my decisions as a general on this council. So I would much prefer that we keep outside relationships, outside. Here, no matter friend or wife, the lives of the townies are my main concern."

Seokjin sighed and nodded. "I understand that."

Namjoon was stern. You of course meant a lot to him and he usually agrees with your mindset since it's a lot like his. But this is something he could never agree on, not even for his engagement. Not even for you.

Taehyung chuckled upon hearing Namjoon's statement to Seokjin. "That's too bad. I'd put my wife's well-being over everything..even the townies." Taehyung challenged.

"She is a townie. She's included"

"But she's firstly your wife than a simple townie"

"In here, as I stated, she's someone who's advertising something for the townies. So for now, none of that matters."

~~~~~~~~~
"𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑟𝑜𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑖𝑛𝑔, 𝐽𝑜𝑦! 𝑇ℎ𝑒 𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑛𝑜𝑟𝑚! 𝐴 ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑚𝑙𝑒𝑠𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑎𝑓𝑒 𝑑𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡! 𝐼𝑛 3 𝑦𝑢𝑚𝑚𝑦-"
Joon turned the TV off as this was the 7th time he had seen the same commercial in the past hour. He couldn't believe that it was already being advertised like this when the meeting was only held a few mornings ago.
It had only been a few days since it became a temporary law that everyone had to take this daily supplement. Joon wasn't even going to attempt to take the supplement. He hadn't tried it and didn't plan on it.
He knew that pissed you off but he couldn't agree. He couldn't, not with all the side effects, the stories you told him, and from the meeting? He was positive there was a hidden agenda somewhere. Dropping the remote on the table he headed back to your home office, leaning on the door frame.
"Princess, are you sure this is really the best thing for the townies? You said it yourself, Clara Johnson forgot about her husband and her newborn baby, that's abnormal. What happens to them if they both take it? What happens to baby Liam?"
Joon asked genuinely concerned for the well-being of the helpless child.
You've been in this yelling match all day. You turned to Joon and sighed. He's been asking questions nonstop which was fine but it seems like no matter what answer you gave, it was never enough.
"She must have gotten a bad batch, I don't think anything to worry about. Quite frankly, Liam is going to have a safe place to live and play, he'll have a safe place to flourish. Like our children will."
You said setting down your papers and walking towards Joon, wrapping your arms around his torso.
"If we even have children. We don't even know if it's safe to take while pregnant. You said that there were some formulations that you weren't there for. And honestly, if it makes you forget stuff I don't think want you to take this either." He spat.
You sighed and ran your fingers through your hair, hanging your head back onto your shoulders, sighing loudly.
"You said you supported me and that what Tae and I were could be a great thing." You said.
"I did, but it's one thing to have it as a choice and to force it. You failed to mention that you both had plans to make this a law and force everyone but children to take this." You began to play with your fingers.
"We-well, I didn't necessarily know he was going to make it a law, I simply thought we were just getting it approved. I didn't have any intentions of going any further" You answered truthfully.
Joon's face fell. How is no one seeing the red flags he's been seeing?
"Baby," he started as he sat in front of you and gripped your hand. "Don't you see this as a problem? You're his partner and he didn't even tell you his plans? There is no telling what he’s doing behind your back"
You sighed. "Maybe it just slipped his mind or he told me and I just forgot baby. Joonie, I wouldn't do anything or make anything that would hurt this world, our future, our friends, and definitely not you." You said holding his hand.
"Please, just trust me..."
“Your dad is pretty hard on you because of that night?” you asked gently, understanding that this is still a touchy subject. Yoongi hummed.
“Yeah. I could hardly go anywhere and when I could, on the rare occasion, my father had his men follow me everywhere. I didn’t have much of a life after that. I understand why he did it but that and that night took a mental toll on me. It pushed me not to pursue this lifestyle. It’s one of the reasons I took up music. Producing and writing are something I love. I wish I had time to work on it a little more.”
You nodded taking the time to think about the next question you were about to ask, unsure if you should even ask.
“So this why you locked your office? I couldn’t go in there because of this?” you asked. “Not because of a secret business idea?”
Yoongi nodded.
“A lot goes on in that office, more than just files and meetings. Sometimes things happen, I just…” Yoongi starts, “I just rather you not walk in on them.”
~~~~~~

The dimly lit home office of Min Yoongi, once grand and beautiful was cloaked in an eerie silence, with only the soft hum of an antique desk fan pervading the stifling air. The room exuded an aura of power, adorned with expensive blank marble furniture and walls lined with frames displaying Min Yoong's achievements within the ranks of organized crime. In this fortress of darkness, Yoong's two trusted confidants, Seokjin and Namjoon, stood sentinel, awaiting their boss's entrance.

Crisp footsteps reverberated through the room as Min Yoongi, an imposing figure in an impeccably tailored suit, finally emerged from behind the intricately carved door. Yoongi was called while on a date with you.

From time to time, Yoongi likes to visit you when you work the night shift. He’ll sit with you for your lunch and just soak up every ounce of you he could. He always orders everyone not to call him during this time, but it seems this was just too important to ignore, even if he was with you. His piercing gaze swept over Seokjin and Namjoon, who stood at attention, their faces masked in determination.

"I hear someone thought it would be wise to steal from me,"

Yoongi's voice crooned, as he leaned against the edge of his desk, exuding an unsettling charm. His eyes flickered with a dangerous gleam as he regarded his lieutenants. Both Seokjin and Namjoon exchanged glances, each mirroring the other's resolve. They had sworn a blood oath to protect their boss and preserve the integrity of his empire but more importantly, their best friend.

The thief would be made an example of, a testament to the ruthlessness that awaited any who dared challenge the reign of Min Yoongi."Yes, boss," Seokjin replied, honing in on the coldness in his voice, ready to fulfill his duty. "We've gathered information about him and his whereabouts. The insolent rat is currently holed up in a rundown apartment not far from here. It seems his wife and daughter haven’t seen him in weeks."

“Wasn’t he supposed to be on watch at the hospital with Jungkook?” Yoongi asked with a raised eyebrow before looking down at the Sliver picture frame that held his favorite picture of you and him. “Yes, tonight was his night” Seokjin added.

“Hmm, so not only did he steal from me and he also put my Blossom’s life in danger, but he neglected his daughter? Isn’t she three or four?” Yoongi asked pouring him a shot of the brown liquor that sat in his small bar. “ All because of what exactly?”

“It seems he has a gambling addiction. He owes quite a few people money.” Namjoon answered. “Does he at least win?” Yoongi asked Namjoon and Seokjin laughed before shaking their head. Yoongi kissed his teeth and shook his head. “That’s quite sad. I was hoping for a better explanation than that and he would have at least won something for his efforts”

Namjoon, his eyes alight with unwavering loyalty, added, "We have a team stationed outside, ready to move in and apprehend the criminal at any moment just in case he feels a little froggy."

A sinister smile danced across Yoongi's lips as he straightened, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the polished surface of his desk. "Good. Let’s show him the consequences of crossing the one who graciously feeds him."

The trio moved with silent precision, their steps punctuated by anticipation as they made their way toward the car parked discreetly outside Yoongi's lavish mansion. Seokjin took the wheel, his hands gripping the leather steering wheel with unyielding determination, while Namjoon sat in the passenger seat, his mind calculating the steps needed to extract every ounce of information from their victim. As the engine roared to life, dark energy permeated the vehicle, an unspoken alliance forged in the fires of loyalty. No words were necessary between the men; their shared mission spoke clearly through the intensity etched in their features. Their journey was marred by an eerie silence, the quiet anticipation of a confrontation looming large in the confined space. The scent of blood and retribution filled their nostrils, fueling their resolve as they prepared to take matters into their own hands.

Only one thing was troubling Namjoon and he was going to voice it. “Yoongi”

Yoongi turned from the window and met Namjoon’s gaze in the rearview mirror.

“Why didn’t you do the same to Jungkook? He’s proven himself useful, of course, but the only difference is, that he didn’t steal money.” Namjoon asked. Yoongi nodded. “There is a difference though, my friend.”

The man frowns slightly as he tries to understand. ‘I’m not following”

“Jungkook stole for a cause. He wanted to see his mother smile. This man did not have a cause. He stole for his mishap. He tried to cover his ass. Jungkook didn’t know who I was. Quite frankly, I would have done the same.”

The run-down apartment came into view, a hovel nestled amidst a sea of towering buildings. Its deteriorating walls mirrored the consequences that awaited its inhabitants. Yoongi, Seokjin, and Namjoon emerged from the vehicle, stepping into the shadows with the grace of predators aware of their prey.

The air was thick with tension as they approached the door, their every step calculated and deliberate. In one swift motion, Seokjin kicked the door open, a thunderous crash splintering the silence, effectively obliterating any semblance of security the thief might have had.

The room was dimly lit, illuminated only by the flickering light of a moth-eaten table lamp. The thief, trembling with fear, staggered backward, his eyes wide with terror as he caught a glimpse of Min Yoong, Seokjin, and Namjoon advancing upon him like vengeful spirits.

“As much money you’ve taken from me and this is the best you can do?” Yoongi looked around the “humble” apartment. The stench of mold, old food, and cigarettes poured from the dingy walls. “This is was you have your wife and daughter sleep in? I expected more from a new father”

The trio looked at the man with pure disgust. The man stood there trembling with his hand in front of him. “S-Sir! I wasn’t excepting you-”

“Of course not, they never do” Yoogni started as he walked around the apartment looking at the filth surrounding him. "What do you have to say for yourself?" Yoongi's voice cut through the stillness, icy words taunting the trembling figure before him.The man's voice quaked, "I-I... I didn't mean to steal, boss. It was a mistake. Please, spare me.""How does one ‘not mean’ to steal? I do not understand. What about you guys?” Yoongi asked Namjoon and Seokjin.

“I’ve never heard of that.”

“Neither have I”

A devilish smirk curled at the corner of Yoongi's lips as he advanced, his steely gaze locking with the man's fearful eyes. Seokjin and Namjoon flanked Yoongi, their presence choking the thief's feeble attempts at escape.  Yoongi nodded towards the man. The room crackled with an almost tangible electricity, in this den of shadows, the thief's screams would echo through eternity, a cautionary tale whispered in hushed tones among those who dared to cross the line. “Come, let’s take a trip.”

~~~~~~~.
As the three men forcefully dragged the struggling thief through the dimly lit corridors of Yoongi's headquarters, the atmosphere grew heavy with tension. Each step echoed off the cold, concrete walls, emphasizing the thief's vulnerability against the backdrop of ruthless power.
Yoongi led the way with a calculating air of authority. The people who worked in his home avoided him as they walked through. His intimidating presence exuded an icy confidence that sent shivers down the spines of even the most seasoned criminals. Kai watched on in fear.
She knew whatever the man did, it was enough to cause Yoongi to act in this way. She didn’t like to see him upset. Namjoon and Seokjin flanked either side of the trembling thief. Namjoon's tall and muscular frame towered over the thief—a stoic figure radiating an air of intelligence. Seokjin, on the other hand, was adorned in an impeccably tailored suit, his handsome features masked behind a mask of unreadable calmness.
The thief's heart pounded in his chest, his mind racing to make sense of the dire situation he had found himself in. He had foolishly underestimated the power that Yoongi wielded, thinking he could outsmart the mob boss and make a quick getaway. But now, caught in the clutches of the criminal underworld, he knew there would be no escaping the consequences of his actions.
They finally arrived at Yoongi's office, an imposing room filled with luxurious furnishings that contrasted starkly with the unsavory nature of their surroundings. As the thief was ushered inside, the heavy black door creaked ominously behind him, sealing his fate.
Yoongi settled into the sumptuous leather chair behind his grand black desk, his piercing gaze never leaving the thief. His eyes bore into the man like a predator seeking its next meal, his expression unreadable yet merciless."Sit," Yoongi commanded, his voice cutting through the heavy silence of the room.
The thief shuffled towards the chair opposite Yoongi's desk, his limbs trembling with a combination of fear and anticipation. Namjoon and Seokjin positioned themselves strategically behind the thief, a silent reminder that there would be no escape from the punishment that awaited him.
With deliberate slowness, Yoongi leaned forward, placing his palms on the desk as he fixated his gaze on the trembling thief. "Why did you steal from me?"The thief's voice wavered as he stammered, "I-I-I made a terrible mistake, Mr. Min."
Yoongi’s face scrunched up. “Don’t ever call me that. I am not my father.” His voice was cold and laced with irritation. “Now answer my question.”
“I-I just needed to pay some people back. That’s all” he stuttered “I wanted to pay off my debt at once.”
“So you decided to pay off a debt with money that did not belong to you?”
The man’s mouth fell open but he couldn’t come up with any reason.
“Please, please sir. Have mercy on me. I will never do this again and I will pay you back everything I took!  I beg for your mercy.”
“That’s cute,” Yoongi's lips curled into a predatory smirk, his voice dripping with icy disdain.
"Mercy? In my line of business, mercy is a luxury reserved for the innocent, weak, and foolish. You, my friend, fall into more of the weak and foolish categories. But sadly, I haven’t got mercy for you tonight. You see you were meant to be on patrol at Yn’s workplace with Jungkook until he learned her routine and got the security job but you, from my understanding haven’t been going and left Jungkook to figure things out on his own. Thank God the kid is fucking smart and doesn’t need a fool like you to do his job. That’s your first strike. You’ve interrupted my time with my blossom with your selfish acts. That’s your second strike. And on top of that, you steal from me. I don’t care about what you do to my father but you stole from me and you have the balls to come into my home, smoke my cigars, drink my liquor? That’s your third strike. And to put the icing on the cake for a bonus strike, you left your wife to take care of your child alone without the funds to do so. Do you really think I’d have any mercy for you?"
“You ask God for mercy, not me.”
The thief's heart plummeted, knowing his fate had been sealed. He had crossed a line he should have never dared to cross, and now he had to face the consequences.
~~~~~~~

“I’ve done a lot of things in that office that I’m not so proud of and I wouldn’t want you to see that,” Yoongi said softly. You looked over at the window. “I don’t want you to think of me as I monster.”

You turned back to him and sighed softly. “I can never think of you like that. It’s just all a little overwhelming for me. I don’t think I could be like that.” You admitted.

“You don’t have to. Baby, I’m not asking you to join me. I do not want that. I just need you to at least for now, understand.” Yoongi grabbed your hands and pulled you onto his lap. Wrapping his arms around your waist to hold you tight. Your arms wrapped around his shoulder as you looked down at him. He lays his head on your chest, holding you as close as he possibly could. You ran your finger through his hair and sighed softly.

Yoongi slept with you close by his side. Although you didn’t leave, Yoongi felt your relationship shift. He loved you with everything he had and hoped it alone was enough.

The few months were a rollercoaster for you. You’ve left your job officially and Yoongi was busier than ever. You hardly saw him anymore. Before, you understood that his ‘work’ was necessary. But now, it scared you what he could be doing.

“I really hated to see you go Yn. Who am I going to pass the time with?” your co-worker said with a cheesy smile, on the Facetime call. You laughed and shook your head.

“I’m not leaving the city, just left the hospital. We can always hang out otherwise,” you said on the phone. Just as you were finishing up your conversation, Yoongi came from the bathroom and headed towards the dresser.

He smiled to himself as he placed his jewelry on while he was listening to you.

“Okay, okay, Yoongi’s ready, I have to call you later!” You giggled. Your friend smirked as she wiggled her eyebrows. “Have fun! I better be an aunt the next you call me!” You playfully rolled your eyes at her before shaking your head, telling her goodbye, and hanging up.

Yoongi was completely amused by your friend. The smile hasn’t left his face since he first walked in.

“Are you ready blossom?” He asked,

“Yes! Yes!” You said excitedly as you grabbed your purse and checked your outfit to make sure it looked good. (outfits: Yoongi, you: poc)

“You look absolutely beautiful baby. I knew you would look beautiful. Let’s go so we don’t be too late and before I change my mind and keep you here” He smirks softly as he kisses your lips sweetly.

~~~~~
Yoongi decides to take you to the new restaurant you’re raving about. You heard your friends talk about it at work and when they showed you the pictures, you immediately sent them to Yoongi. So tonight he decided to surprise you. He even went as far as getting you a new dress.
He held your waist protectively as you both moved through the beautiful restaurant. After a few minutes, you and Yoongi sit at a table adorned with candles. Namjoon and Seokjin decide to sit a few tables behind you, so you could have some privacy. Although it was a date, they had to follow you both. To keep you safe of course and eat on Yoongi’s dime.
After a while and a few glasses of wine, you two are engrossed in a deep conversation, your laughter filling the air followed by Yoongi’s.
“I’m telling you, you can’t beat me in basketball, blossom, even if you tried. You still wouldn’t beat me.” Yoongi declares. You scoffed with a wide smile. “As if! I had to go to hundreds of games, I even practiced with my brother! I’m a professional!” Yoongi laughs genuinely.
You could play, but you were no professional, it was just cute to watch Yoongi’s expressions. You guys continued to eat and conversate until something caught Yoongi’s eye. Suddenly, Yoongi's eyes widen as he spots someone across the room. His eyes grew dark and full of hate. He couldn’t believe that out of thousands of restaurants in Seoul, he decided to come here.
Hoseok, now looking distant and bitter, locks eyes with Yoongi. They haven't seen each other since their childhood, when they were once inseparable friends. Yoongi turns back to you, trying to dismiss the unwelcome sight.
You frowned softly and tried to look for what Yoongi was looking at, noticing the man you had saved and his friends. Jimin locks eyes with you and gives you a warm smile to which you return before looking back at Yoongi.
“Baby is everything, okay?” you ask, pulling Yoongi’s hands to yours. The sight tickled Hoseok. He shook his head and leaned over to whisper something in Jimin’s ear.
“Yeah, just someone from my past, I’m not too fond of, has made his presence known.”
You frowned softly.
“We can leave, let’s go somewhere else. We can go see a movie or just go home.” You said gathering your things. Yoongi agreed.
He wasn’t scared, he just didn’t want to have to kill anyone tonight. He didn’t want to scare you.
Yoongi pulls out his phone and texts Namjoon and Seokjin, but they are already two steps ahead of him. They had already called reinforcements and they were lining the premises as they headed towards your table, but Hoseok beat them to the punch. Hoseok and his men reach Yoongi's table, sparks of tension filling the air. The diners watch with rapt attention, sensing they are about to witness something significant.
“Hello, Miss Nurse. I haven’t seen you at the hospital anymore” Hoseok smirked not even acknowledging Yoongi, only to get under his skin, which was working. You were still a bit oblivious to who this man was or his infatuation with you but you just remained respectful.
“O-oh, yeah,” you start with a nervous chuckle before continuing “I don’t work at the hospital anymore. I’ve moved on. I wanted a change of pace.” Hoseok pouted “Aw. That’s a shame. I liked seeing you there. I only trust you with my checkups.”
Yoongi’s tongue poked the inside of his cheek as he stared at you. He wasn’t doing so to indicate that he was upset with you in any way. He needed to keep his eyes on you to serve as a reminder that he couldn’t let you see him be the evil person he was. Or he was supposed to be.
“There are many amazing nurses there, I’m sure you’ll find someone amazing.” You said. You looked at Yoongi, wishing he would save you from this conversation but the look he was giving you sent chills down your back.
“Oh, where are my manners, who’s this gentleman?” Hoseok smiled looking at Yoongi. Yoongi’s dark glare met with Hoseok’s taunting one.
“This is my-“
“You know exactly who I am, Hoseok,” Yoongi said nonchalantly.
Their eyes meet again, and tension fills the air. It was suffocating. You sat back in your seat as you looked back and forth between the two men.
“Hello Hyung, it’s been a while hasn’t it?” Hoseok started, “It’s so nice to see you again”
“Can't say it's good to see you,” Yoongi said with no interest in having a conversation with him.”Hoseok, you always had a way of showing up where you're not wanted”
“Aw don’t be like that Hyung. We’re better than that. We’ve known each other since diapers. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting your stunning girlfriend. She is quite beautiful. She catches the eye of many people doesn’t she?”
Yoongi's brows furrow and he instantly becomes defensive from Hoseok's words. He stands immediately, knocking into the table and grabbing everyone’s attention. You stood to your feet as well. “Y-Yoongi don’t” you whispered. He clenched his fist tightly as he took a deep breath before looking back at Hoseok. You gripped his hand. Yoongi lets a sly smile play on his lips while his grip on your hand tightens. You look at him with a worried expression.
“Don’t fucking play with me, Hoseok. You left me alone. I left you alone. You got what you wanted, don’t fuck up what I want. Let’s play nice. I want to have a nice evening with my girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend? You’ve been dating for quite a while. Four years right? You haven’t asked her to marry you? You haven’t fulfilled your master’s wish? Where’s his grandchild? You move quite slowly hyung, I’m surprised. That’s not the Yoongi I know.” Hoseok chuckled and tilted his head. “I can always take your place if you’d like. She’d-”
Yoongi stepped closer to Hoseok which caused Jimin and Taehyung to get closer which only made Seokjin and Namjoon do the same. Jungkook came behind you, pulled you away, and placed you behind him. You could barely keep your eyes away from Yoongi as he stood fearless in front of the same men who scared you out of the operating room.
“Say another fucking word,-” Yoongi spat before Hoseok cut him off, his face turning dark. “And what the fuck are you going to do about it?”
“You better watch your tone, Hoseok,” Seokjin said firmly Jimin and Taehyung exchanged glances, ready for a confrontation. Namjoon prepared himself promptly. Hoseok takes a look at Seokjin “Ahh, Hyung, how is your mother doing? Still waiting for me to finish what I started? I must say, I was always her favorite.”
“Don’t ever mention my mother when you’re the reason she isn’t here in the first fucking place” Seokjin clenches his fists, his knuckles turning white.
“If you’re looking for a fight, you will find one if you keep this up,” Namjoon said. Hoseok's grin widens maliciously, and he signals his men. Suddenly, all hell breaks loose.
Tables flip, glasses shatter, and chaos ensues as the two factions clash in a brutal display of mobster power. The jazz band abruptly stops playing, and terrified diners scramble for cover amidst the mayhem.
Amidst the chaos, Jungkook grabs you and pulls you behind a wall guarding you from the chaos. Tears filled your eyes and you started shaking as you watched your boyfriend skillfully deflecting blows and landing precise strikes. Jungkook turns to you and gives you a reassuring smile. “Everything is going to be okay. I’m here. I’m not going to let anything happen to you or Yoongi”
Soon, the authorities are called, and sirens wail in the distance. In the midst of the chaos, Yoongi approaches Hoseok wiping the blood from his lip as he watches Hoseok do the same.
“If you really want to settle this like men then you know where to find me,” Yoongi says darkly… His words were last with pain and hatred for this man he once called his friend. Hoseok carried that same amount of hatred for Yoongi as well. “You can count on it. I'll always be around.”
“As will I” Yoongi spat, watching Hosoek walk away with that same malicious grin he had coming to his table. Yoongi wasn't worried about the police nor was he worried about the owner pressing charges. The owner knew what was best for him. Yoongi turns to Seokjn who hardly had a scratch on him
“Tell the owner that we will pay him for the damages and however long it’ll take him to open up again. Go with him.” The two men nodded.
Jungkook helped you up. You looked at the now-empty restaurant, standing amongst the ruins of the once-fancy establishment. You were shocked as you looked at the damage. Yoongi turned to you seeing the look of fear wash over your face as you saw your boyfriend there with a few small cuts on his face. He walked over to you and pulled you into his arms tightly.
You practically fell into his arms and hugged him tightly.
“Baby…I’m okay. I’m okay. You’re okay”
As the sleek black car smoothly made its way through the dimly lit streets, Yoongi sat in the back seat, his gaze never leaving yours. Your eyes were still filled with a mix of shock and worry as you replayed the brutal scene that had unfolded before her. The atmosphere in the car was heavy, but Yoongi remained calm, despite being sore from the fight and ruining a perfectly good shirt.
Yoongi reached out and gently took your hand in his, his touch grounding and soothing. "Blossom," he spoke softly, his voice laced with reassurance. "Blossom please look at me. You're safe now, okay? You're with me, and I won't let anything happen to you. That will never happen again."
You turned your head to face him, your eyes gleaming with unshed tears. Taking a deep breath you nodded, squeezing his hand tightly. "I know, Yoongi. It's just… seeing you like that, in that fight, it scared me. I didn’t think it would escalate to that. I didn’t know that’s who you were talking about…this is all happening so fast"
Your words tugged at Yoongi's heart, and he understood the turmoil you were feeling. It’s only been a short time he told you and things were already falling apart. He leaned closer, wrapping his arm around your shoulder, bringing you closer to his side. "Baby…” he starts “I know it wasn't easy for you to watch, Y/N. For now, this is who I am this is how it has to be. I’ve tried to shield you as much as I can but I can’t always hide this part as much as I would like to."
"Who you are, or supposed to be, scares me sometimes," you admitted quietly, your voice shaky. You still couldn’t begin to imagine all the things Yoongi does when he isn’t around you. This was probably the mildest thing he’s ever done. "I love you, but I hate seeing you in danger, putting yourself at risk for this lifestyle."
Yoongi tenderly brushed a strand of hair away from your face, his eyes holding nothing but love and understanding. "I understand your concerns, Blossom. And believe me, I hate putting you through this. But, this life comes with certain responsibilities and certain enemies. I need to protect our people and our interests. More importantly, I need to protect our future. It's a part of who I am, but it doesn't define me completely."
As the car moved along, the tension began to ease, and Yoongi's driver kept a respectful distance, giving them a sense of privacy within their conversation. Yoongi leaned in closer, his deep voice velvety and comforting. "I promise you, blossom, I'll do everything in my power to keep you out of the line of fire. You mean everything to me, and your safety will always be my top priority. Nothing else"
Your eyes met his, searching for any sign of deceit, but all you could find was sincerity and love. You nodded and gave him a small smile, trusting his words. "I believe you, Yoongi. I’ll try my best to stay out of the way and not put myself out there. I don’t want you to keep getting hurt like this" You say rubbing his face softly and looking at the cuts and bruising across his hands.
Yoongi kissed your forehead, his lips warm against your skin. "I’ll do everything in my power to protect you and everything we build from here on out"
Wrapped in Yoongi's embrace, you found solace, knowing that you had each other to lean on in this chaotic life. As the car continued its journey home, you held onto each other, drawing strength from your love, knowing that you could face any obstacle as long as you were with him.
