The Song Of Achilles

I met you when I was twelve. Just a scrawny little kid with curls in his hair.

You always sat separately, didn't fawn over me like everyone else.

Was it then I fell in love with you?

Was it when you kissed me on the beach?

Was it when you left my father's house to chase after me?

Was it when you loved me in silence every night not knowing I did just the same?

Was it when you came to a foreign land looking for me?

I will let you in on a secret Patroclus.

I loved you from the moment I laid my eyes on you.

The moment you caught the fig I threw at you.

The moment you came with me to watch me fight.

The moment you came with me to listen to my father's stories.

I loved you Patroclus.

I loved you when you wore my armour and fought in my stead.

I loved you when I held you for the last time.

I loved you when they burned you on a pyre.

I loved you when I fought a river God.

I loved you when I killed Hector.

Because how could I not love you Patroclus?

The best of Greeks.

The best part of me.

Where art thou, my love?

Amongst the moon?

Amongst the stars?

Amongst the sun?

Where art thou, my love?

Amongst my foes?

Amongst my friends?

Amongst the beasts?

Where art thou, my love?

In my heart?

In my bones?

In my soul?

Where art thou my love?

In a kiss?

In a grasp?

In a word?

Where art thou, in my life?

Hyacinthus was a hero in Sparta. Dark eyes, dark skin, dark hair but a pure heart. A heart so pure and bright that it caught the attention of the sun God himself. Apollo was everything that Hyacinthus was not. He had sun-kissed skin, hair like the sun and the sun in his eyes and like everything he was, Apollo's heart burned like the sun; his passion was fiery like the sun as was his nature. He was simply like the sun.

The sun was high and pure and ever shuns evil and searches for the pure. No wonder Apollo fell for Hyacinthus.

Whenever he dragged the sun with his chariot his eyes would search for Hyacinth from afar. He saw many suitors who came for the hero, women of great nobility, men of great strength and Gods who controlled the winds. Yet, the hero refused them all, sending them back to their homes with the strings in their hearts snapped.

He had a companion a man called Thamyris. Apollo could see how much the man loved him and how Hyacinthus was oblivious to his affection and treated him like one would do with a brother.

Not able to control his desires and affections Apollo approaches Hyacinthus. First they were good friends; Apollo taught him to shoot arrows, to write poetry, to play the lyre, to mix herbs and instead Hyacinthus showed Apollo happiness. Despite Apollo being handsome like his father he never had any great luck in love. He was charming, sure. But love? That was something Apollo couldn't fully grasp. Then again, not a lot of mortals did either.

The first time Hyacinthus kissed Apollo was when they sleeping beside each other, thinking that the God was asleep. Apollo however was not, he was awake and returned the gesture. Neither knew that would be the beginning of the end.

Apollo like many of the other Gods wished to impress his lover. It was a simple sport. To see who threw the discus further.

Hyacinthus threw for a reasonable distance, and smiled. Apollo threw it so far that it split the clouds in the skies. Apollo smiled as Hyacinthus threw his head back and cheered. And like many , Hyacinthus wished to impress his better half as well.

As the discus came down Hyacinthus moved to catch it. Only for it to ricochet and hit his head. Apollo saw as the discus came down and saw as it hit Hyacinthus' head and saw as he fell with his name on his lips.

The world always moved slow for Apollo but the moments before he fell seemed as though it moved faster. As though time was afraid that it can't kill Hyacinthus while Apollo was with him and had to hurry.

The God of healing was not able to heal the man he loves, he could only watch in horror as the blood seeped into the earth. Hyacinthus did not shudder or seize in his death, he was calm and silent with his eyes closed, only inhaling and exhaling softly. When Hyacinthus breathed his last, Apollo screamed. He screamed so loud that the nymphs ran away to their ponds and lakes, that the Sun set early that day and the moon was afraid to take its place.

He pulled at his blond hair and clutched Hyacinthus so close hoping he can breath life into him. He called out to his father asking him to take away his immortality, what was immortality without Hyacinth? He called onto all the Gods asking them to take his life, what was the reason to live on this wretched plane that has cast out Hyacinthus?

No one answered him. No God did.

Apollo didn't want to do his funeral rites. He didn't want to bury him so that he could cross river Styx and stand before the three judges. So, Apollo whispered. He whispered with his magic and Hyacinthus slowly turns into a flower.

Apollo looks at the flower before leaving. Pure and beautiful, that was how Hyacinth always has been. Even beyond his death.

ACHILLES AND PATROCLUS.

This is a story you all know well. Beautiful and tragic this story is. The Greeks loved men and women alike. It did not matter to them a person's gender. Achilles was the prince. The son of a Goddess and a King. The best of Greeks. The best of men.

When Achilles first laid eyes upon Patroclus, he didn't look like much. He was covered in dirt and grime because of his long and excruciating travel. Achilles's father had welcomed him, told Achilles that Patroclus was a prince like him but he no longer was. Achilles did not care for all that, he was more intrigued by the quiet boy.

Becoming friends with Patroclus was easy as breathing for him. Patroclus knew when to pull him back if he should go too far and knew when to encourage him. Peleus didn't bother separating them both, instead, sent them both to Chiron.

The centaur had taken one look at them and knew what would become of them. Achilles who was fast, relentless and unforgiving, and Patroclus who was silent, soft and forgiving, Chiron had looked at them and saw their end even before they had begun. But he had guarded his silence and taught both his students to be great. He knew that they were destined for greatness, like he knew about Jason and about Heracles. He, also, knew that Jason's naive behaviour and Heracles's pride would be their downfall. Just as he knew that Achilles's pride and Patroclus's heart would be theirs.

When Thetis came, Chiron was tempted to send her away, to protect his students who he had come to cherish. Chiron knew that Thetis came with the news of war, the news of death.

Both Achilles and Patroclus bowed to him and promised that they would come visit him after the war was over. Chiron had simply nodded, not telling them that neither would make it back.

Achilles marveled at everything the ships, the soldiers, the sea. After Odysseus had brought him from the island he was hiding as a woman, everyone had told Achilles that he would be the reason for their victory. Not only because, he had taken the oath of Tyndareus, not because only someone with his blood can breach the walls but because he was the best fighter. He was the warrior who was to lead them towards victory. He was the best of Greeks. But Achilles knew that he would win, because Patroclus was beside him.

One thousand ships and fifty thousand soldiers, Achilles thought, but the war will be won by Patroclus and I.

Patroclus didn't join him for the raids around Troy. He chose to stay behind at camp to help the healers. Achilles knew that Patroclus wasn't weak by any measure, he knew that he had also taken the Oath of Tyndareus but he was baffled by the notion of Patroclus not wanting glory, not wanting honor.

When Achilles brought Briseis to their tent Patroclus hadn't said anything. He treated her as he would treat a friend and not a spoil of war. Achilles had like Briseis, he had brought her here to spite Agamemnon but he still had liked her, but she could not be compared to the man who held his heart.

When the war began, Achilles saw a part of Patroclus that he hadn't seen before. A chilling, brutal and a cruel part of him. Patroclus fought like that was his last fight, he killed mercilessly and terrifyingly. Achilles had fought all his fights knowing that he would win, Patroclus fought all his fights like he was afraid that he would die. Achilles did not understand how he could miss this side of his Patroclus, he had mistaken his silence and withdrawal as cowardness when it simply had been preservation. Patroclus had been more deadly in battle than Achilles.

When Agamemnon disrespected him, he withdraws from battle, knowing that without him they can't win and without him Patroclus wouldn't fight. He was content with watching men burn, he didn't care whether they were Greeks or Trojans. He knew that in the end, after Agamemnon has fallen, after Hector has fallen, him and Patroclus would rule everything.

Men come and plead with him, soldiers who are less and great alike. Odysseus pleads for his intervention so that the war would end and he can go to his wife, Diomedes does not want to watch his men getting slaughtered, Nestor wants too see his country before he dies, Menelaus apologizes in the place of Agamemnon and many more come to his tent but he turns them all away.

Patroclus is the last one to plead. He pleads him to join the fight and Achilles is so stunned. Patroclus never spoke against him or his wishes. When Patroclus told that he was wrong, when Patroclus was pulling him back it meant that he was in the wrong. That he was at fault. Achilles didn't want to admit this, instead he tells Patroclus that perhaps he should fight without him. They don't touch or speak with each other throughout the night.

The next evening there was screaming, violent screams. The Trojans had a son of Zeus beside them! Prince Hector was leading the charge with the son of Zeus! They are trying to break into the camp! The news stuns Achilles but it alarms Patroclus. He pleads him again, not for him to join the fight but to send him instead. Achilles puts his armour and gives him his sword. Come back, he tells him, come back to me. When the Greeks see Achilles's golden armour shining through the night, they rejoice knowing that they will win now. Messengers run to the camp at varied times, he didn't wish to watch the fight, knowing that he might be tempted to join. He hears their whispers, Achilles has killed the son of Zeus, Achilles has driven away the Trojans from the camp, Achilles is pursuing Prince Hector. After the last one, the whispers stop. Achilles could hear the faint cries of battle beyond the camp.

When the cries stop, Achilles wonders why he doesn't hear the cry of victory and joy. At dawn the soldiers arrive, Agamemnon is the first to enter his tent and before he could tell him to leave Odysseus, Nestor and Diomedes enter and Menelaus enters last. The gently set down a body they had been carrying, Achilles thinks that Agamemnon has killed Briseis and before he can lash out at him, he hears Menelaus say, he fought well. He. It was Patroclus.

Achilles uncovers the shroud. He looks at them and wishes for their death. They leave silently. Achilles washes him, puts him on their bed and slides in next to him. Like this he pretends that they are back in Chiron's camp and that Patroclus is sleeping like the dead because of the hard training they had endured.

And he dreams, oh Gods, he dreams. He dreams of Patroclus, he dreams of his touch, his smile, his kindness. Those dreams leave his body aching in the morning. He goes in and out of consciousness. He dreams of Patroclus dying, he dreams of Hector striking him and finally, he dreams that he is the one who kills Patroclus.

He kills Hector the next day. They fight all day long and Hector runs from him in the hopes of meeting his son for the last time. A river God rose to protect Hector but Achilles's rage is so overwhelming that he defeats the God. The winds murmur, he can hear what they are saying. He has defeated a God! He will kill all Trojans. The war mustn't end this soon! He drags Hector's body around Troy. To show them that this was their Prince but now another dead body. He knows he is angering the Gods further but Achilles doesn't care. What was victory without Patroclus beside him?

The stench of Patroclus fills the tent but he still sleeps there, on their bed. His dreams will either be of their times together or it will be Achilles killing him. He realizes one day- after a horrid dream where Patroclus curses him for his death, although he knows that Patroclus would never do that, he still wishes that he had- Patroclus did die because of him. Not only because of his pride but because Patroclus had no reason in the first place to be here, Patroclus had been a prince when he had taken the Oath of Tyndareus but he hadn't been a prince now. He hadn't had any reason to go to Chiron as well. He had simply followed Achilles wherever he had gone. Achilles did kill him. That thought breaks Achilles beyond repair.

He dreams again, this time he is in their tent and Patroclus walks in and kneels before him. Patroclus places his hand on his cheek and Achilles leans into his touch. You have to let me go, Patroclus says, let me go, Achilles.

No, Achilles clutches his arm, you said you would come back.

Patroclus smiles at him. The smile is clear and beautiful, unlike his previous blurry dreams. Achilles, he calls his name, you have to let me go.

Achilles washes Patroclus again and sets a funeral pyre for him. Whole of the Greek army attends to pay their respects. Patroclus, he says his name like a prayer, the best of Greeks, the best part of me.

After that Achilles fights aimlessly, he doesn't fight to win but he doesn't lose either. Achilles sees Apollo next to Prince Paris- Hector's brother and the man who started this war- Apollo's smile is sick and frightening but Achilles wasn't frightened. To him it was warm and welcoming since it held the promise of death. Paris set his arrow loose while Apollo carried it. Right in his heel. Right where his body is weak. He falls and closes his eyes.

He doesn't care about the Trojans or the Greeks or winning. It had only mattered to him when Patroclus was at his side. Patroclus had followed him all his life, it was time for Achilles to follow him to death. Patroclus smiles at him when he sees him. Patroclus, he says, I missed you and I'm here.

Harlowe is born the day his mother dies. He is breathing for the first time while his mother breathed the last. His father doesn’t hold, but his brother does, and he calls him Lyra because he thought Harlowe sounded like a lyre when he cried for the first time. His brother teaches him many things, he taught him about the kingdom they lived in, about the royal family, about how there is war always in the eastern front, how the oldest prince is always in the battlefield, about how the king had stopped caring for the kingdom, how kind the second prince is, how quiet the third prince is, how Harlowe should speak with elders, how to fight, how to be honorable and how to always stand for justice; these were the things his brother taught him.

His father is home only twice a year for three weeks, the rest of the days months his father is fighting as a soldier in the eastern front. Whenever his father comes home, he brings gifts and teaches Harlowe how to be a good soldier for the prince. His father always wore the colors of the royal family proudly, the color of gold and purple but his brother always disapproved with his father but never spoke out against him. After their father has left his brother would tell him, ‘Don’t worry. After him I will be given his position in the army. So, don’t dream about fighting, dream about everything else. Leave the burdens to me.’

As older he got clearer the world he could see. He could see how his father did not arrive during the time he was supposed to, he saw how hard his brother worked to pay the taxes that were on them relentlessly, he saw how there was barely enough food on the table, he saw how everything was slowly falling apart and how helpless he truly was.

Harlowe, like every other boy in this world, falls in love, only he doesn’t realize that it is love. She was beautiful, she was everything that he never thought he needed in his life, she was everything that kept him awake at night wondering how he survived so long without her. She slowly became his friend, his partner in crime to drive his brother up the wall, his most trusted person after his brother, his equal. She saw him in his highs and lows, in his anger and in his frustration and she still chose to be his friend. She was his equal in all aspects and when she spoke- forget butterflies, the whole forest came alive inside of him.

Then the thing that brought chaos arrived and it brought destruction to everything Harlowe had ever loved. The war on the eastern front was won, but the oldest prince was dead and so were a number of troops, then the king died after killing himself and the second prince ascended the throne. While the royal family threw a party for the celebration for the new king, Harlowe didn’t have it in him to be to be happy for anything. Because his father was now dead and his brother was given a post in the capital so now, they would have to leave to serve the king there. He would have to leave her. When he departs from her, so many things in him die and he feels that nothing would be right again.

Harlowe is fourteen when disaster strikes again. After a few years of apparent peace, the youngest prince rallies troops against the king and dethrones him in the palace at the middle of the night, the king flees but his followers get stuck. The new king is ruthless. He crowns himself as the High King, and anyone who supported the previous king is killed or arrested. The people who won’t swear fealty to him are sent to camps where they have to remain until they die. He throws the rich out of their homes, kills the corrupt, and destroys any form of perversion in the kingdom. He promises equality for everyone in this kingdom, he says that everyone in this kingdom should earn their place and even his ministers would be treated like everyone else and all he asked in return was peace and submission. Equality in all aspects, those had been his words. He utters these words while he stands next to the throne of this brother and father while still covered in blood from the massacre that had occurred that night.

Harlowe would have loved the King, if not for what happened next; Harlowe’s brother came to him the morning after the rebellion, telling him to pack his things so that they could leave. Harlowe’s brother had done something against the new King. The door to their small house is broken in and his brother shakes him and tells him to just survive. Harlowe knew that his brother had personally served the previous king but he wishes his brother would just kneel and beg when the guards force him to the floor and the High King demands something from him. Some truth, what it was, Harlowe did not know. His brother refuses to depart the truth, even when the King himself breaks Harlowe’s arm. His brother dies while looking at him and the King throws the sword his brother had carried at him. The King looks at him and asks, ‘Well?’ and Harlowe kneels and begs for his life and the King allows him to join the army. Harlowe has always been quick witted, he might seem like a coward for begging the man who killed his brother. But in the end, he will be the reason for the fall of that man.

Now years later, Harlowe stands before the man who killed his brother, he smiles while guards force him on his knees, his mentor- someone he had trusted- lies dead a few feet before him, he smiles as the executioner raises a sword against him. He smiles because he knows that even now, even if he kneels, he has won. Then it all goes black.

Shall we start from the beginning?

Are you ready?

Why must I crave the one thing I fear?

I wish to wake up to someone beside me, snoring softly while the morning sun creeps in through the blinds.

I want to be wanted.

Yet the thought of someone falling in love with me is terrifying.

Falling in love is terrifying.

The thought of being left broken is terrifying.

Homesick.

Homesick.

Kim Namjoon is happily (maybe) married with two beautiful girls that are his whole entire world. Nothing means more to him than Army, his members, and his family. But things start to change when he sees his wife could be using their marriage as an opportunity than actual love. Just to make things more complicated...

He may have fallen in love with the babysitter.

word count: 2.2k

introduction.

Homesick.

“She’s a little sick today, she’ll be fussy but she should fall asleep after you give her the medicine after dinner”

Namjoon said running down the list of duties as he always did when you came to watch sweet little Sky. You’ve been watching his little girls for a year, you know how this works by now.

“ She has been very cuddly as of late, I hope you’re okay with that tonight, yn”

You smiled and nodded.

“ I don’t mind that, she’s the sweetest little thing. You go have fun, I got this” you reassured him, patting his arm lightly before you reached for Sky, who had no issues leaning forward to be in your arms. Namjoon always took note of that. “Is Sunnie at her friend’s house tonight?”

“ ah, yes. She’ll be there and you’ll see her this weekend! I really ap-”

“Oh come on, Joon. You do this every time. Y/n know what to do by now, let’s get out of here already” You heard his wife coming into the kitchen pulling her dress down as she walked to her husband. “I know she knows, I just wanted to-”

His wife rolled her eyes and smiled “Baby- our princess will be fine. It should be fairly easy since our little firecracker is away for the night. Besides, Y/n has our number shou-SHOULD anything happen which it never does.” she said looking at you before looking back at Joon, pressing a sweet kiss on his lips and fixing his suit jacket a little.

You should be used to it by now–it happens every time but the way Joon always panics before they leave and his wife always destresses him it’s usually the other way around for the other children you nanny for. Joon’s kids are his pride and joy. It would kill him if something happen to either of them, which is why you always try your hardest to make sure nothing happens as you did with all the kids you watched but you had to admit, you had to take different precautions when it comes to Kim Namjoon of BTS’ kids.

“Now, let’s go before you’re late and Seokjin’s wife chews you out,” she said giggling before leaning over to give sky a kiss and a sweet pat on your shoulder before telling you goodnight, pulling Joon towards the door.

“Goodnight y/n, please, if you need anything- don’t hesitate to call okay?” Namjoon yelled as he was dragged out the door. “Trust your good judgment honey, we trust you” His wife smiled as she reached to close the door behind Joon.

You giggled softly and looked down at the sweet girl herself. Kim Sky. She looked back up at you and smiled brightly, pushing out small but strong and cute words that you had no clue what meant but it was warming nevertheless. She’s shy of 10 months and taking the world by storm. Her little babbles continued as you sat her in her high chair and waltzed around the kitchen preparing her dinner. You missed Sunnie. She was just like her name, a ball of sunshine, probably brighter than the sun. She’s turning 4 soon and she has so much to say. She’s very smart, you kinda figured since her parents are extremely smart.

You spent a lot of time with the girls so knowing what they’d like and wouldn’t like was second nature to you– Sometimes you found yourself telling their parents that anything green that wasn’t fruit wasn't their fave. You’ve been their personal nanny- if you will– since before Sky was born. It was a little early you thought. You couldn’t imagine being away from your baby that young, you’d want to be around your child every moment you could, but maybe that changes after a second child.

Who knows for sure?

Sky’s small hands' patter along her high chair’s tray, making no beat in particular but just loving the sound of the new noise she’s able to make. Her wide smile made your heart melt as you pulled a chair towards her.

“You’re just like your daddy huh? Love music” you smiled and lifted your phone to record the cute moments from this small, innocent being. After putting on a full concert, you decided to send it to her daddy which only made his heart flutter.

Namjoon loved seeing things like this, and you knew that.

“Let’s have some yummy uhh -potatoes and peas…” you giggled looking over at Sky who you knew weren’t going to be a fan. She loves the potatoes but it’s the peas that are not her favorite.

Nevertheless, you did your best to entertain her so much while she was eating, she didn’t even realize she was eating peas. You watched her as she munched and suck on the food in so much happiness. Smiling, you reached down and gather some more onto your spoon and fed her once more.

‘Mmm mmm’ fell from her little lips as she waited for her next spoonful, you heard your phone buzz across the table.

Mr. Kim: Thank you for the video, she has made my day much better. Mr. Kim: Also, I know sky doesn’t like peas too much, I haven’t been able to get to the store and when I asked Veronica, she…bought Peas and Potatoes…so I’m sorry if she’s giving you a hard time.

You giggled.

Y/n: It’s not a problem. She’s eating well. I think my airplane tactics are working. We’re going to take a little medicine and cuddle on the couch until it’s time to sleep. Please enjoy your night.

Namjoon’s nerves were calmed after talking to you. He smiled softly and placed his phone back into his pocket as he sipped on his drink lightly, engaging back in the conversation.

His wife was networking like she always did—

She’s an event designer. She makes clothing for a lot of idols and at one point in time she was a seamstress for Bangtan, that was his first encounter with her before he ended up in a marriage. He didn’t mind her job, he didn’t even mind her networking. Bangtan had to do the same thing when they were starting out but they never had the same opportunities she does being married to one of them. He didn’t like that sometimes she took intimate parties like this one, celebrating Seokjin’s anniversary, to try and promote herself.

“Oh yes, I have the perfect vision for your wife sir. An absolutely beautiful-stunning really- baby blue dress with a pretty long train and a slit on the side.”

Namjoon just smiled and nodded, trying to be the supportive husband he knew he was but it’s things like this that always pissed him off. The members and a few of his friends had already made comments about this very thing, and no matter how much you tried to talk to her about it, she’ll always say, “ It’s innocent baby, everyone needs a designer.”

“Ah thank you so much, but no, we haven’t thought much about our renewal but once we give it more thought, we’ll give you a call right honey?”

Namjoon smiled softly and led his wife to the bar where his eyes grew dark.

“Darling, I thought we discussed this. You won’t advertise yourself.”

“Oh baby, I was just offering a friend a service-”

“Baby, you didn’t know them until tonight. This is an important night for our friends and you're networking.”

“Honey, relax. It’s all innocent baby.” She smiles and orders another glass of white wine.

Namjoon rolled his eyes softly and leaned his back on the bar, overviewing the guest as his phone buzzed yet again, he noticed his wife was off networking again as if he didn’t say a word.

Y/n: I’m sorry for bothering you but I wanted to let you know, that the little princess is asleep. Is there anything else you would like me to do while I wait for you guys?

Namjoon chuckles and smiles.

Mr. Kim: Ahh, thank you. She’s been having the hardest time, I’m assuming she didn’t give you any trouble? & no, nothing but the usual. Just enjoy yourself. Have you eaten yet?

Y/n: Oh, no. We played a little before bed and she tired herself out. But I haven’t eaten since lunchtime. I was just about to order something.

Mr. Kim: That’s one way to do it. Lol. I can order you something, just send me what you want and I’ll have it sent.

Y/n: You don’t have to do that Mr. Kim- really. I can afford it. I don’t want to use your money.

****Mr. Kim sent you $200 now your balance is $1,430****

Mr. Kim: Don’t even think about sending it back. Enjoy your dinner.

You puffed your cheeks and giggled to yourself as you scrolled down to figure out what you wanted before you decided on ramen from your favorite shop not too far from here.

$200 dollars was a little overboard but nevertheless, you didn’t mind eating from your favorite place.

The clock read 12:40 pm and you held little Sky in your arms on the couch. She was laying comfortably on your chest, halfway asleep yourself when your phone constantly buzzed, causing the small whimpers from Sky’s mouth to wake you up almost immediately. While keeping baby girl securely in your arms, you shuffled around looking for your phone that somehow ended up on the floor.

“H-hello?” you mumbled making small circles on her back to soothe the small child on your chest.

“Mimi?” you heard Sunnie whisper between her tiny cries.

“What’s the matter baby?” you asked, more awake and alerted. “Are you okay?”

“*sniffle* yes…*sniffle* I want to come home..”

You didn’t question it a second more, after telling her you were on your way, you changed Sky into some warmer clothes since it had started to rain. Stopping by Sunnie’s room you grabbed her favorite blanket which you realized her parents forgot to pack. She can’t live without this blanket let alone sleep without it.

You headed down the road to her little friend's house after receiving the address from the girl’s mother. Parking your car, you got out and carefully got Sky out before heading up the walkway to where it took only a few moments for you to be greeted by Sunnie and the mother.

Instantly she ran to you and held your little legs tightly, you ran your fingers through her hair.

“Everything was okay until it was time to sleep and I brought out Lei’s special stuffed toy to sleep with. She realized she didn’t have her blanket and kept waking up through the night. Then she asked to call her daddy but we couldn’t get a hold of him then we found your number on her backpack next to his and she wanted to call you. So we did. I’m really sorry to call you and baby girl out in this weather.”

You smiled and waved her off. “I’m glad you called, her parents are at a party for their friend’s anniversary. They should be on their way home soon but I got her. She can’t sleep without this blanket, maybe we’ll try again next time hm?” you smiled down at Sunnie who just kept hugging you.

You said your goodbyes, loaded the girls up, and headed home.

Once you arrived you saw Namjoon and his wife pull up after you.

Worry was painted all over his face as he saw you get his little girls out of the car.

“What happened?” he asked walking over to you taking Sunnie into his hands while you got Sky.

“You forgot her blanket, so she couldn’t sleep. Nothing too bad. She just wanted to come home”

Namjoon sighed softly as you guys got into the house and out of the rain. “I totally forgot, I thought I had stuck it in there. Daddy’s sorry princess” he said kissing her head softly as she cuddled into her daddy with her blanket.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself. You were busy, it’s easy to forget.” You said gathering your belongings. “Where’s Veronica?” you asked noticing that she didn’t walk into the house after you two. Joon sighed.

“She decided to go with some friends to the bar. I’m pretty beat and we have so much to do this weekend, I want to spend some time with the girls,” he said watching you gather your things. You nodded.

“Well, have a good night and I’ll see you this weekend” You smiled turning to head to the door

“Y/n-” Joon said standing after setting a sleeping Sky on the couch gently. “Why don’t you stay the night? It’s really rainy and cold outside, you’ve been out there once no need to go back. It’s so late just stay in the guest room and tomorrow maybe, if you want we can take the girls somewhere?”

“Oh thank you, do you this veronica will mind?”

“She wouldn’t, she loves you just like me. She probably won’t even be home tonight” Joon said nonchalantly.

You didn’t question it at the time but maybe you should have.

Maybe you shouldn’t have stayed the night.

Or any other night.

Maybe you should have set boundaries.

Because now you’re in love with a married man.

Who's children you watch btw.

Who’s also in love with you…

Homesick.

I was a wishing well for sad boys who wanted something to change so they tried to change me

They tossed pennies into my depths and grew angry at my remaining the same on the surface

But the pieces of themselves they thought fit to toss away lay deep inside me and tossed and turned the currents in my soul and clogged up pathways in my heart.

You were an antiques collector, happy to grow old with me, and I was full of people’s old junk.

It’s a good thing we found each other.

If I ever date someone and they remind me to take my medications or they check that I have, I will simply marry them. For someone to care about me so much that they are willing to remember what times I have to take my pills is just so unbelievably sweet. Maybe I have low standards but this would make me swoon.

(don't worry, my standards are slightly higher than this XD)

All my life I watched my friends fall in love with the wrong person, but I've never gotten the chance to be in love. The only person I been in love with is the boy in my dreams.
