As someone who relates to that song because of my addictions, self-harm, and suicidal ideations, I'm... concerned... for lack of a better word as to why it seems like the meaning of the song is being scrubbed/cleaned up.
Maybe Jaime hit the nail on the head, maybe Mike is senile.
I really hope the rumor about Mike being a Scientologist now is just a rumor. If it isn’t, he is in such danger now, as is his family and the rest of the band. More so then they were with just being around Emily.

I've said numerous times that LP being involved with Emily is dangerous because of her Scientologist beliefs. People can say she's left (there's been no proof of that), or that "she's queer so it's okay" (no, it still isn't okay, being LGBTQ doesn't absolve you of being a shit person). And for those of you saying she can't leave... Leah Remini was a Scientologist from childhood, practically born into it, and she left. So if she can, Emily can. Emily just chooses not to.
I am genuinely worried for the guys and their families. And then there's rumors now that Mike may have joined (note, I've not heard anymore about it so, like I said, it's a rumor)...
I just want to share this. This link goes to the story of Lisa McPherson. She was a woman murdered by Scientology. Her story is not easy to read, but I want to share it so you guys can grasp the danger the guys are in.

I don't hate Mike. Honestly, I don't. I am, however, very disappointed in him, and in the person he has become.
I miss the old Mike. The guy who would never have aligned with a dangerous cultist, the guy who would never erase his best friend's legacy, the guy who wasn't more about the money than anything.
As I've said numerous times, I'm worried about him. He's not the same guy, and I don't even understand it.

I agree. Chester was definitely the main draw. I love Mike's raps, but it was Chester's voice that drew me in to begin with. They would have gotten nowhere without Chester. And they brought this on themselves, tbh, because they made Chester the face of the band for 17 years and then expected people to be okay with replacing him and erasing his legacy.
People who keep saying that Linkin Park only belongs to Mike and it's all about Mike bc "Mike did everything in the band" are just the worst type of trash to exist. LP would not be LP without Chester and no one would listen to Mike's little weak raps the way we all listened to Chester poar his heart out in his music

These people are absolutely braindead. Emily CANNOT sing. She screeches at best. Some people even dare to say she sings with more emotion than Chester... BITCH PLEASE. Emily has as much emotion as a wet dishrag (and looks like one too...).
It's just so disgusting. The fans are actively erasing Chester's legacy now. It's like watching a new cult unfurl right before my eyes... Jaime was right when he referred to it as a cult.
I'm angry at people for even thinking for one minute that Scientology Barbie could ever be better than Chester. She isn't, and will never be.
I'm disappointed that Mike has allowed this shit to happen. Way to go, Mike. You've trampled and destroyed your best friend's legacy.
