I think Stranger Things will end with Eleven and Brenner reuniting near the end of the last season to take down the Mindflayer together after the other numbered subjects have failed at killing it. They’ll probably both die while defeating it.
My own theory is that the Mindflayer is just Rob from The Amazing World of Gumball after rotting in The Void for years after The Inquisition.
