In The Open - Mingyu

You were just about to head to bed when you heard someone at your door.

Pulling it open you were immediately engulfed in the embrace of your large, clingy boyfriend.

"I'm sorry," he muttered as he held you close, one hand cradling your head while the other pressed your body to his.

You couldn't help the soft laugh that escaped you. "Gyu..."

"Please don't leave me," he begged, the quiver in his voice letting you know he genuinely thought you might. "Please."

"Hey," you said, trying to pull back and look him in the eye, but his grip tightened. "Gyu, is this about those news reports?"

He nodded, before realising that you couldn't see it from your current position. Finally, he let you pull back, his hand still placed firmly on your waist. "Yeah," he admitted.

"Why would I leave you, pabo?" you asked, your smile evident in your tone.

"Because we hadn't planned for this to happen," he explained, referring to the Dispatch article outing your relationship before you were ready to go public.

"I know," you confirmed, "And it sucks that this is how the world found out. I'm sure your carats would have rather heard it from you when you were ready, but it's happened now."

"But all the extra attention, other people commenting and trying to get involved in our relationship-"

"Exactly," you cut him off. "OUR relationship. It's just ours and I'm not going to end it because of other people."

"Really?" he asked, a spark of hope in his eyes now.

"Really," you confirmed. "I think we might need to sit down with Hybe and work out what happens now, but I am definitely not leaving you. We'll work it out together."

Mingyu finally smiled, before cupping your face in his hands and pulling you into a passionate kiss. When he released you you had an equally large smile on your face.

"It's nice to know how much you want me around though," you teased lightly.

"Yeah, you're mine, and I don't plan on letting you go."

You happily leaned in to hug him again, your arms around his waist as you simply savoured his comforting presence.

[11:32PM] “it’s beautiful isn’t it?” mingyu says while you nod looking at the old photos you two decided to go through.the said photo had you leaning your shoulder on his,dressed in halloween costumes while you two were on your house’s sidewalk when you were children.“it’s crazy how it felt like this photo was taken just yesterday” you state.he slings his arm around you bringing you closer to him.“you’re still as cute as ever since this photo you know?” he cheekily implies.you playfully roll your eyes while huffing.“you’re still as annoying though” you say breaking out into a laugh,leaving mingyu to form a pout at your choice of words.

pt 1~pt 2~Epilogue 

“It’s obviously not stupid…just tell me”

“No Mingyu, i-it’s r-reall-y stu-pid...” your voice still hiccuping.

“Can you open the door? You don’t have to tell me right now. But can you please just open the door?”

Coyly you unlocked the stall. There he stood, offering the shyest puppy dog smile yet and his arms. You stood up and let him envelop you in a bear hug. You let out the last you had into his chest. He just patted your head and shushed you softly. You stood there for a while just like that.

 You're not exactly sure how much time had passed but quite a bit later you heard the door unlock and you pushed Mingyu away just a bit. One of the employees came in holding a key ring.

“I’m sorry to interrupt you folks but this is a professional establishment.”

“We’re sorry...” Mingyu replied grabbing your hand and dragging you out of the bathroom not forgetting to grab your phone. 

The elevator ride to the where everyone stayed on the 3rd floor was silent but his hand never left yours. 

You guys got off the elevator and he turned you to face him, he saw where your tears had left stains on your cheeks. 

“Wanna spend the last night in my room? N-Not in that way, I’d never! Y’know-”

“I’d like that Mingyu...”

One of the perks of this trip was that everyone had their own room, most of the younger ones used this to their advantage and got it on, while the Major’s studied, and those like you just got some relaxation. 

 He led you to his room, fumbled around with his keycard, and let you sit down on the bed. 

“I should’ve told you to get clothes and come back but... I didn’t think that far ahead.”

“Mingyu shut up and give me one of your hoodies...”

“Okay okay right.”

 He got himself pajamas and got you a very big hoodie that was already oversized for him, which meant you were practically swimming in it. He gave you the room and changed in the bathroom. He came back with a damp towel and gave it to you to wipe your face. He turned the TV on to Cartoon Network and you felt him crawl around the bed as you lightly swiped the towel over your face. 

 You felt the bed sink behind you and you no longer heard rustling. You felt arms wrap around you from behind and a head rest on your shoulders. 

“So can you tell me what happened?”

“It’s really really stupid Mingyu...”

“Okay and??”

“Fine... My brother sent me porn and it played loudly and I got so embarrassed I cried and you're my cru-” You spit out.

“Wow, that is stupid...” He said as he left your back and sat beside you, you hit him lightly. He faced you.

 He leaned in and puckered his lips out a bit, you knew exactly what was happening and you didn’t want it happening like this. You quickly put your wrist over your mouth as Mingyu gently pressed his lips against it.

“Y/N you were about to tell me you had a crush on me and I thought... nevermind I shouldn’t have assumed.”

“Mingyu I don’t want my first kiss to be with someone who isn’t my boyfriend, and plus I’ve already had one heart attack today.”

“Then Miss Y/N would you do me the honor of being my girlfriend?”

“Yes, but no kissing today my heart has suffered enough”

“Ok...” He smiled yet again the puppy dog smile and his lights shined so bright you could see the light reflecting off the building through the window.

 He grabbed your wrist and placed small butterfly kisses over and over again.

“What are you doing?”

“I’ve already kissed you here, and since I can’t properly kiss you yet this is the best I can get.”

“Idiot...” you chuckled as he sucked on the skin of your wrist leaving a small bruise.

“Kim Mingyu! I didn't bring makeup to cover this up!” You half-yelled and hit him repeatedly. 

He gave you a hug to suppress your beating and flopped you two backward onto the bed. You let him cuddle you to sleep as you buried yourself into his chest.

Imagine you’re in gym class, just sort of walking around the basketball court, zoning out. “I need to return that library book today, and I have homework for Mrs...” “hey! Hey! Come play basketball with me! Please! I’ll go easy!” HighSchoolBaller!Mingyu, you haven’t known him that long, though you had done a few projects with him. At first you didn’t think he was talking to you but as he ran closer you realized he was, “why the hell is calling me over?!” You thought to yourself. “Will you play me? 1v1 I’ll go as easy as I can, promise.” “Fine I’ve got nothing better to do this period.” “Yes! Ok les go!” You went and played, which was hard because of how freaking tall this guy was, any chance he got he would tease you. Throwing the ball over your head, holding it over your head, at one point you’re sure he jumped over your head but that seems a bit impossible. Then it happened, you were getting serious about the game and apparently Mingyu was to. He goes in for the shot and you have a quick second to get the ball, you went in and BAM 💥 you hit the floor. You can’t believe it he ankle broke you so hard. You weren’t injured but it hurt so much. “I’m sorry im sorry I’m sorry I’m sorry!” “It’s okay” “it’s not! Let me help” “it’s o-” he had picked you up and was rushing you to the nurses office. He stayed with you while you got checked out and walked you back to class afterwards. “I’m so sorry...” “it’s really okay Mingyu” “how about I take you out to ice cream after school? It’ll put my heart at ease, just let me take care of you for today.” “Fine, just promise you won’t develop a crush on me by the end of the day haha” at this point he really didn’t know if he could keep that promise.
