Help I can't stop thinking about MLP G5!
I think the character dynamics and designs are honestly more fun than the G4 ones. There's WAY more body variation and the multicolor wings??? Iconic.
I also think that a lot of people are judging G5 unfairly because they're either blinded by nostalgia or thinking that season one of tell your tale should be as good as the entire run of G4.
Make your mark and tell your tale are both really fun to watch in my opinion. I think that it's a real shame they're ending make your mark on the 6th chapter, but I also kinda get it? Tell your tale looks way easier to animate and also has less obvious animation/writing/etc errors that make your mark has and looks like it'd be easier and cheaper to make.
It's really interesting watching them both though, because they sort of add context to eachother in a really interesting way. A lot of things that go unexplained in make your mark will be explained in tell your tale and I believe vice versa is true but I kinda can't remember for sure, so don't quote me on that.
I think my current biggest issues with the show are more in the worldbuilding. I like what they've done so far for the most part, but I really hope they don't stop where they're at. It'd be interesting for there to be more villains throughout the series and not JUST Opaline as well as I keep wondering what happened to all the non-ponies. Even if they don't develop the worldbuilding more, though I'm confident they will, it's still a fun show. That would just be the icing on the cake.
Lately, I've been imagining an AU of my ponysona (and maybe some of my other OCs and my partner's OCs) living in Maretime Bay and I've been really tempted to make a little fan AU thing with that, but Idk if I'll commit to it enough to post anything about it. For some reason that I can't quite put my finger on, G5 has captured my imagination in a way that G4 never quite did.
Oh and as a final note, I don't hate G4 or anything. I love it and it was tons of fun to watch. I just personally love G5 a lot too and I think it has a lot of good potential that people are overlooking because of nitpicky small reasons.
