the loustat rain scene was devastating but i have to say the photography scene meant so much too. all the other dreamstat scenes have been about the murder, about the betrayal of their relationship, about louis moving on with armand, and you can easily make the argument that dreamstat is a reflection of louis's inner guilt. but the photography scene is just them talking. an art critique. lestat encouraging louis in his hobbies. he's not angry or vindictive or jealous or sad, he's just there. because at the root of it, louis just...really misses his husband. it's that simple and that tragic. louis loved lestat, and lestat is dead, and louis just wants to see him again. spend time with him again, talking about nothing. no vampire intrigue or epic love dramatics, just being with each other. and that's so devastating too.

And I wondered what it was like to be chosen. I was never chosen. I was a maybe, a probably, sometimes even a definitely but never the one, never the chosen one.
