From what I understand about MHA through the years of constantly hearing about it but never actually watching the anime or reading the manga: The world has people with quirks (powers) and people without quirks. Only those with a quirk can be heroes. The main character, Deku, wants to be a hero but is quirkless. He believes that he can become a hero if he works hard enough despite lacking a quirk and people thinking he can't become one because of this. Deku becomes a hero! But only after he gains a quirk. The story ends with him losing the quirk he gained and not becoming a hero. Meaning that everyone was right; you can't be a quirkless hero. Fans are upset over this ending.
