Showing people songs I've written and have a reasonable demo or something is bad enough, the accapella performances of ideas/parts is a truly horrifying experience and something like no other.

Okay, I think I'm gonna try and put out some super rough demos of one of the songs I've been writing in the next week or two, just enough so the ✨️vibe✨️ gets across.
I can't play drums, so the drums will be non-existent or done electronically, so if they sound bad, I'm sorry.
Brief synopsis of the lyrical content of each one:
Well Deserved-gods either incompetent or cruel wtf ft. Gdim min7 chord and plagal (amen) cadences.
Endlessly-I love you but am too scared to say anything ft. Ambiguous key signature and maj7 chord
Control-Corrupt government is overthrown ft. Triplets and a guitar solo (hopefully lol)
Hopefully this will encourage me to actually finish one fully!

I went to write an essay for uni today and had to stop because my brain decided to come up with a song BASED ON THE TOPIC I'M WRITING THE ESSAY ABOUT.
Anyway, it's about the Theory of Correspondences and the bridge lyrics are going to be a stanza from some French poetry written by Baudelaire.
1000 words into the essay (out of 1500), and the lyrics are complete. I am the king of productivity.

Genuinely, I finished the chords for a song I'm writing today (the one with French poetry in the bridge), and EVERY SECTION has a minor plagal cadence.
Damn, Matt Bellamy sure does love using minor plagal cadences to make me want to RIP MY SOUL OUT MY BODY AND THROW IT AT THE SUN.
I reckon most Muse songs that just utterly devastate you have a minor plagal cadence.
(I am also guilty of using minor plagal cadences in my own songs bc they also sound nice).

The horrifying experience of not knowing how to play drums and needing to use programmed drums.
The vibe is just off idk.
Realising that the songs I write are My Songs and I can just swap the lyrics round to suit me if I want.
I've spent ages working on this song and it's my favourite I've ever written. Was gonna try and get it recorded with drums and shit before top surgery but haven't had the chance.
I hope you enjoy! I cock up the chords a bit at the end but aside from that it's a pretty solid demo.

Songwriter insanity is back in full swing lads. Just been going for like 2.5 hours and only stopped bc it's 3:30am here. We live to see it.
Notated out my pride and joy, and it is 7 pages long! With use of da capo/dal segno. I am undecided if I want to do a proper outro yet. It would probably be tremolo picking the chorus vocal melody, maybe with some whammy pedal if I did. It's basically done though, and is more than ready for an acoustic performance if I can push myself to go to an open mic night or speak to the people in hmv.
I have hyped myself up enough to go to an open mic night.
I did it! I covered Bliss and did one of my own songs, and it went really well! My friend filmed it so I will probably be putting up on my music account.
