This panel/scene is my favorite one piece moment overall. It's when Luffy is talking with Brooke about their pasts and Luffy invites Brooke to the crew more formally. It's a beautiful scene that wraps up thriller bark (not including the gorgeous funeral scene with zoro and Brooke later) as it's just so honest and pure. It also makes a log of call backs to running idea's from the series beginning; Laboon awaiting the Rumbar Pirates and Brooke's return, Luffy always wanting a musician from the start, Luffy rescuing Brooke from the loneliness of the Florian Triangle and giving him a will to live again, Brooke's past, Shanks' influence on them both and their shared views of the romanticized pirate image, it's like children becoming friends but at the same time like two retired seamen catching up, and going both ways it's a child being brought into the heart and embrace of a loving protector. It's just.... a gorgeous moment in this series truly
