It was a normal rainy afternoon, everybody on the streets finding solace in the sheltered stores. The rain pounded heavily against the shop roof, signages swinging dangerously in the wind. You kept your umbrella and walked into the store. Wood, scented candles, and dim lighting gave off a homey yet exciting feel. You looked out the window, knowing that the rain won’t be stopping anytime soon.

As you walked deeper into the bookstore, you observe the many books lined up on the shelves, each one of them whispering stories and knowledge waiting to be discovered. The store was so full that there were books piled up on the floor. Normally, you would be ticked off by having such valuable items being so casually strewn. But surprisingly this time, you weren’t.

The books were placed in an organized and artistic manner that you didn’t mind. They were in some cases, ensuring that nobody would kick them down. Couches with fluffy pillows and coffee tables with more books caught your attention.

Is this a library? Didn’t seem like it. Perhaps it was a library-bookstore. The thought itself was quite laughable.

Your fingers skimmed the spine of the books on the shelves, letting them guide you through. Lost in the world of literary treasures, you found yourself drawn to the philosophy section. As you pursued one of the titles, a voice, rich with warmth and intellect, reached your ears.

“You have good taste in books.” The voice said.

You turned around to see a tall man, adorning a pair of spectacles.

“Hello,” The man stuck out his hand. “I’m Namjoon. Don’t think I’ve seen you around here before.”

You took his hand in yours and shook it. The size difference was hilarious. The entire of his hand engulfed yours, leaving nearly none of yours in sight. You knew if he wanted to, he could crush you in a minute.

A blush crept up your cheeks as you replied, “Ah, I’m Y/N. I’ve never come in here before. Just avoiding the storm today. I usually buy coffee from the opposite but you guys are not open then.”

Namjoon pushed his spectacles up the bridge of his nose. “Oh, then you must be the pretty lady Mikaela keeps talking about. She won’t keep it down every time.” He laughed, sounding so baritone and soothing. “How’d you know this is my shop?”

Oh, you hadn’t.

“Well, you just confirmed my suspicions, no?” You replied to him with a smirk, eyes gleaming with mischief.

Namjoon bellowed out. “Well, yeah.” He turned to the book you picked out. “Like philosophy?”

“I’ve always been fascinated by the power of words and the wisdom they hold.”

Namjoon’s eyes sparkled with understanding. “I feel the same way. Words have the ability to shape our thoughts and emotions, going beyond time and space. It is like a never-ending journey.”

At that moment, you knew you found a new friend. The connection between the both of you was built by the shared appreciation for the beauty and depth of language. A bond that went beyond mere attraction, rooted in the desire to understand and be understood.

As days turned to weeks, you found yourself going over every few days, engrossed in conversations with Namjoon that spanned various topics. From philosophy, arts, and science to engineering and business, to everything and anything. Each discussion felt like you had plummeted into a whole new world, wandering through the vast landscapes of knowledge and imagination.

When Namjoon talks, you listen, absorbing all the information he provides you with. And when you talk, Namjoon listens, eyes shining with curiosity and intellect. He encouraged your thoughts, offering insights that expanded your understanding. In his presence, you feel a sense of intellectual stimulation and a deeper desire to delve deeper into the mysteries of the world.

Soon, the both of you started spending late nights under the glow of the moonlight, books safely tucked away. Lost to conversations that danced between the tangible and abstract, the boundaries of time seemed to blur as the both of you explored the realms of existence - pondering on the complexities of life and the universe.

It was in these little moments that you discovered a profound connection - missing puzzle pieces finally coming together. It was a journey of self-discovery guided by Namjoon’s wisdom and introspection.

One evening, as the both of you sat under the stars that painted the night sky, Namjoon turned to you, voice filled with sincerity. “Your thirst for knowledge and understanding inspires me to always be the best version of myself. You never fail to amaze and you have never given up even when times got tough.”

You blushed as your heart filled with affection as you replied, “And you, Namjoon, have a way to light up even in the darkest times. Your wisdom has opened my eyes to so many new perspectives and allowed me to be more like myself.”

Namjoon’s hand reached out, shakily cupping your cheek. “Wandering the word and seeking knowledge and truth would mean nothing without you. If you would let me, let’s find solace and inspiration in each other.”

With a light smile on your face, you leaned into his touch, feeling a profound sense of belonging. In Namjoon’s embrace, you discover a love that fits right into the puzzles of you and him. It was more than conventional romance - it was a piece that sparks intellectual growth and mutual respect.

As the night deepened, you found yourself entwined in each other’s arms, the world around faded into insignificance. In the quiet embrace, you felt a unity of minds and souls - the pens of thoughts and emotions finally writing down the story of a lifetime.

With every beat of your heart, you know that your connection with Namjoon will be a never-ending exploration - a journey of shared wisdom, endless conversations, and the unwavering pursuit of knowledge.

In his presence, you have finally found a partner who understood the wanderlust of your mind - a companion who embraced the beauty of words and their profound meanings.

As you lay intertwined with Namjoon, you revelled in the joy of finding a love that spreads beyond the boundaries of time and space - a love that would forever wander the realms of intellectual curiosity and heartfelt understanding.

Under the Light of the ARMY Bomb | KNJ

Under The Light Of The ARMY Bomb | KNJ

Pair: Namjoon x idol reader

Summary: Surprising your long-distance boyfriend as a singer has its perks. But when an unexpected double surprise came for ARMY’s in the stadium that day, it was the absolute highlight of the event.

Genre: Pure tooth-rotting fluff, idol reader, idol Namjoon, established relationship au

WC: 1189

If you are ARMY, regardless of whether you have attended BTS concerts in person or virtually or even if you were just watching through clips, you know the exhilarating energy that they possess. Together with that, ARMY’s cheers and sing-alongs make the environment a thoroughly different environment.

Today marks the last day of the world tour for BTS and they were performing at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. Even standing outside, you were already alight with energy, a sea of ARMY’s waving their light sticks and singing along to the electrifying performance on stage. From the little slit along the stages, you saw Namjoon commanding the stage with his powerful presence, leading his members with equal amounts of charisma.

Every time, you would be part of the audience - a part of ARMY. But today will be unlike any other. Today, you had fully intended to join them on stage and give Namjoon the fright of his life.

Amidst the crowd, you were hiding in plain sight. With your own fandom and performances, it was rare to find a moment of spare time where the both of you could just enjoy each other’s presence without the worry of the future. It has been four years since the both of you have come out to the public about your relationship. Saying that there were no hard times would be a big fat lie.

You got threats on threats, making you constantly fear for your life. But there was also a section of ARMY and your own fan base that gave a positive output. You had changed your energy from them and did your best for them. You were glad that over time, people also grew accustomed to the fact that the both of you were dating. Not to say that there were no haters but just… lesser than before.

When you found out that your precious boyfriend and his brothers were performing in Seoul, you couldn't resist the temptation of surprising him. Of course, you had told his members and talked to the company and their managers, ensuring that it was indeed okay for the surprise to happen. Arranging the preparation with the help of BTS’s management, it was still a challenge to keep your presence a secret from your boyfriend. The boys were not the best at keeping secrets from Joon and his sharp eyes just seemed to see everything. And your resistance was diminishing by each second when you see your boyfriend performing, hot as shit and cursing his way through.

But it was all part of the thrill.

As the concert reached its peak and the vocal line was performing ‘Dimple’, you slinked backstage with the rest of the dancers, heart thumping with anticipation. The crowd was in a frenzy and this was the perfect moment.

Joining the line of backup dancers as they got onto the stage, shrouded in a hoodie and a cap, the spotlight was completely focused on the vocal line, allowing you a few seconds to prepare.

As they got to the chorus, you stepped forward, voice steady and heart full of love and excitement. The vocal line continued singing with you, harmonising their voices with yours with ease. In the background, ARMY’S cheers increased in volume as the ARMY bombs went crazy, but all you could see was Namjoon’s surprised expression. It took a moment for the realisation to set in that you were actually here. The wide smile that adorned his lips made your heart explode.

All that waiting was worth it.

It was unforgettable.

You and the boys continued performing, having the best time teasing their leader during the remainder of the song. As you faced ARMY and waved your own ARMY bomb, you could feel Namjoon’s eyes on you the whole time. But he couldn’t seem to take them off of you as the crowd erupted into cheers and applause as you bowed to them. Your presence on the stage was unexpected and everybody was living off it - including him. It was the best surprise that he could have ever asked for.

When the song ended, Namjoon ran out from backstage, clumsily tripping over himself. As he stepped forward, his hands trembled uncontrollably when he held your own. The rest of the boys were rowdy behind the both of you, shouting and teasing, revelling in the romantic surprise unfolding before their eyes. But all of that turns into the background when Namjoon looks into your eyes. All he could see… was you.

The crowd quickly hushed as Namjoon spoke, his voice thick with emotion. “Y/N, what an announcement spoiler you are.” He laughed. “From the moment we met, from the days we spent together to the nights after every concert and phone call, I’ve always been thinking about it. You brought so much light into my life, to the rest of the boys, and to ARMY. I wanted to tell you when we decided to go on that date two days later but after this surprise, I can’t think of a better time to ask than now.”

The crowd went crazy and then went silent again.

Tears welled in your eyes as your heart rate rose to a dangerous level just thinking of the possibility of -

“I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I want to wake up every day with you by my side and go to sleep every night with you in my arms.” Namjoon kneeled down on one knee, an open ring box in one hand and a microphone in the other. “Will you marry me? Can you take this clumsy, absolutely hopeless kitchen man in?”

The stadium fell into absolute silence, the air tense with anticipation.

But you didn’t hesitate. There were so many things you wanted to say but the words caught in your throat. Your mind was moving miles per second but all you could say was, “Yes! Yes, oh my gosh Namjoon, yes!”

The stadium erupted in applause and maybe you were just high from the adrenaline, but you swore that even the ground was shaking. But it was because of the cheers from the crowd and the ecstatic reactions of the rest of the members that made the moment even more unforgettable. Namjoon slipped the ring onto your finger, sealing the promise of a lifetime together. Namjoon’s hand cupped the back of your neck and brought you in for a heated kiss.

You prepared a surprise for him but got a larger surprise instead. You knew that you were going to forever be teased on this by the boys but you couldn't bring yourself to care. It was you and Namjoon - against the world.

As the concert continued, the atmosphere was even more electric. The unexpected love and joy in the air was palpable and your surprise appearance and engagement became the highlight of the night. Namjoon’s confession of love in front of thousands of fans marked a clear, new beginning - not just for you as a couple but for BTS and their dedicated ARMY as well.

It was a night of music, love, and memories that none would forget.

Festive Feels | KNJ | Diwali Special

Festive Feels | KNJ | Diwali Special

Pair: Namjoon x idol!reader

Summary: Namjoon and you go out on the streets of Seoul to celebrate the Festival of Light together for the first time. And as the night sky is adorned with dazzling lights and vibrant colours, illuminated with thousands of oil lamps, you rediscover the meaning of love and your connections.

Genre: Fluff, idol reader, idol Namjoon, established relationship au

WC: 705

The city was alive with the warm glow of a thousand lights. Booths, people, and glowing lights brighten the heart of South Korea. In Seoul, amongst the vibrant colours and laughter, Namjoon and you walked hand in hand through the streets, enjoying the celebration of the Festival of Lights, Diwali.

As the both of you walked through the streets, the air was filled with the scents of the festive delicacies and you just couldn’t help but resist the temptation to indulge in some traditional Indian sweets and food. You’re eyes tilted upwards, watching Namjoon savour a piece of Kaju Katli, his eyes lighting up with delight at the sweetness that coated it.

Kaju Katli is a cashew fudge treat that is terrifically smooth, thin, and melts in your mouth.

“Oh, this is amazing,” He turned to you, mouth still full as he proclaimed his love for the food. “How have I never tried this before.”

You chuckled. “Diwali is all about sharing happiness and delicious food with our loved ones. So, this is perfect.” You leaned into his embrace. “Oh… the food.” Just the thought made you salivate.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the real magic of Diwali began. You pulled Namjoon onto a bridge. The cityscape slowly transformed into a wonderland as buildings, homes and streets started to be adorned with countless lights and festive decorations. It felt as if the city came alive for the festival.

You pulled Namjoon off the bridge, walking in the opposite direction, as the both of you found a quiet corner in a nearby park. People around you were lighting oil lamps and it was tradition to create beautiful rangoli patterns on the ground. Buying a few packets of rice, chalk powder, coloured sand, and flower petals, you headed over to a fairly empty walkway and started.

The both of you were eager to try your hand at it. Pouring small amounts at a time, colours painted the ground a beautiful shade as you carefully crafted intricate designs. Namjoon watched you intently, occasionally offering a helping hand.

As you worked, you explained the significance of rangoli to him. “These patterns are meant to bring good luck and ward off evil.” As you finish off another pattern, you continue. “They are also a symbol of hospitality, welcoming guests into our homes.”

Namjoon nodded, his gaze never leaving your hands as you worked skillfully to form a delicate lotus pattern. “I love studying about your traditions and I’m honoured to be a part of your Diwali celebration.”

With the completed rangoli sitting in front of you, the both of you lit up your oil lamps and placed them in the centre. The soft, flickering light created a magical atmosphere and you felt like you were sharing an intimate moment with your beloved amidst the grand celebration around you.

Children were screaming and adults were working around in the booths - but it felt like your own little bubble of peace.

As the night sky darkened, the fireworks illuminated the galaxy. You and Namjoon looked up, faces reflecting the vibrant colours and patterns that burst above you.

“It’s like a starry night but with so much more.” Namjoon remarked, arm coming around your waist to bring you closer to his body.

You smiled at his analogy. “Diwali is a reminder that light will always triumph over darkness - a time to celebrate new beginnings and the victory of good over evil.”

Namjoon leaned down to place a gentle kiss on your forehead. “I’m grateful to share this beautiful festival with you and I hope our love can shine as bright as these lights.”

Tilting your head up to meet his vulnerable gaze - your hearts connected. “Namjoon, our love has always been a beacon, guiding us through our darkest times. It was, is, and will always be.”

As you refocused your attention on the fireworks that painted the night sky with radiant colours, you felt a sense of unity and togetherness - reminding you of the beauty of sharing traditions and creating new memories with the one you love.

At that moment, you realise that loving truly was the most powerful light of all, illuminating your lives with warmth, joy, and endless possibilities.

Pairing: Namjoon x Y/n Genre: Flansgt (it wasn’t fluffy enough to be fluff, but it’s not really angst so just. Flangst?) Word count: 2k Warnings: you are very unproductive. Tags: @cypherwritersnet

“Melanie, for the last time, I can’t make it today. It’s my cousin’s birthday. I’ll catch up with you some other time.” “Okay fine, but we’re bringing Ainsley next time, alright? Magic Shop at 7 PM on Tuesday.” Melanie sounds stern, but you know she’s not entirely serious. No one’s gotten Ainsley out of her room since she broke up with Chad. “Alright fine, but if we manage to get Ainsley to see actual sunlight, you’re paying.” “Deal.”

You hang up the call, wondering how you got yourself into this situation. You put on your jacket and head out of the dorm, on the way to your aunt’s house. A few hours of chattering with your relatives and gossiping about your older cousins while the younger ones run around and eat cake will be enough to distract you from the fact that you’ve been behind on your work for three weeks. You head on over to your cousin’s house, parking your car next to the sidewalk. You step out and walk up to the door, and before you can knock, it opens, and your cousin runs out and hugs you. “Y/N I’VE MISSED YOU SO SO MUCH OMG! How have you been? How’s school? Are you seeing anyone? We have so much to catch up on!” your cousin Laurel squeals. “Laurel, calm down. It’s only been a month!” “STILL. Now. How’s school? Are you seeing anyone?” Laurel continues, eyes burning into your skin. This interrogation lasts for another ten minutes before she remembers that you two are standing outside, and then invites you in. A few hours of chattering with your relatives? More like six hours from 1 PM to 7 PM being bored to death while Laurel flirts with her boyfriend.

~The Next Day~ It was Tuesday. At 6:59 PM. In the Magic Shop cafe. Waiting for Ainsley. Melanie, Skylar, and you were already there. It was raining, and it was raining pretty hard. The bell at the entrance to the cafe jingled, and you looked up, seeing Ainsley walk through the door. “So we finally got Ainsley out in public? I’m impressed,” you say, with a small chuckle. You are actually impressed, but also dreading having to pay for everyone’s coffee. “Don’t count on it happening again, I’m tired and I have homework.” Ainsley sighs. “Well, we might have to let your grades slip a bit. When was the last time you met someone?” Skylar says, adjusting the sleeves of her blazer. “It hasn’t been that long…” Ainsley drifts off, as you and your friends look at her. None of you believe anything she’s saying. “Okay maybe it’s been a while. So what? I can take time to focus on my studies! That’s not a bad thing to want.” “No it isn’t, however you were miserable after you broke up with that last guy. I can’t remember his name and no don’t you dare say it he is taboo. You spent three months sulking. And now you’re drowning yourself in essays. Take a freaking break girly,” Melanie says in her dramatic it’s-the-end-of-the-world voice, her hands on her hips. “Melanie I am not drowning myself in essays! I only have three due this week-” “And you had seven due in the past two days we are not taking any bullshit about not having much work.” You say, placing your phone down on the table and sighing. “We want you to go out more, to socialize. Maybe meet someone. At least revive your social life a little bit. Seeing someone who you can casually hook up with will be better than hiding in your room and only emerging for classes.” “There is merit to y/n’s words, Ainsley. Meet someone. Get dick. Don’t attach yourself if you don’t want to. Whatever. Just get out of the house.” Melanie said, then added, “but we should get coffee first. I mean, we’re here, aren’t we? It’s a coffee shop.” Everyone laughed, then sent you to grab a few drinks and some cookies. You shook your head, chuckling as you walked to the counter. You thought about Melanie’s words a little bit. Hooking up? It wasn’t really your type of thing to do, but maybe Melanie’s advice could apply to your worries as well. Though, you had enough on your plate already, so maybe not. When you returned to the table, you gave everyone their drinks and they began to talk about what they’d been up to the past week. “Oh also, you know that new club that opened up on First Street? I went there with some classmates the other day. I may have met someone…” Melanie says with a wink. “Who? Who? Why haven’t we met him?” said Skylar, pouting about being left out of the loop. There wasn’t a loop though. “Calm your tits Skylar, I’m about to tell you. His name is Kim Taehyung, he’s chill, and he’s pretty cute. He had three friends with him, I don’t remember their names though. And I’ve only known him three days, he hasn’t met anyone.” Melanie laughs, patting Skylar’s shoulder. “I think we should pay that club a visit. What’s it called again?” you say, genuinely interested. You think you know what place she’s talking about, the House of Cards club. It was kind of like a coffee shop that sold booze, and it was a great place to meet just about anyone. “House of Cards. Do you have any reason in mind to go?” Melanie asks, but all four of you already knew there was one reason to go. “No. No no no. I am not meeting your Kim Taehyung and his friends.” Ainsley says, wincing. “I do not go clubbing.” “It’ll be fun! Let’s go.” Skylar gets up, grabbing Ainsley’s wrist. You all head out the door, about to set foot in what will be the starting point of the most interesting night of your lives. About twenty minutes later, you’ve walked into the House of Cards and not only found Taehyung, but met six of his friends. They all seem nice, but you’re pretty sure you’re not going to talk to all of them today, especially with the way Ainsley is eyeing Seokjin. You sit down next to Namjoon, who seems to be the quietest. He’s wearing black glasses, jeans, and a pink shirt that says “Don’t Waste Your Time.” He doesn’t seem to be the type to waste his time, and you hope that rubs off on you. You need to get a leg up on studying. “Hi, I’m y/n.” You say, reaching to shake his hand. “Hi y/n, I’d introduce myself but you already know my name. How’s life?” He asks, shaking your hand. You smile, and say, “It’s pretty good, other than overwhelming schoolwork, you know?” You mentally slap yourself when you remember that you actually do have overwhelming schoolwork, and that you weren’t just making a joke. “Ah yes. Schoolwork. Honestly I think this is probably the most stressful time of the year, especially with exams coming up.” Namjoon agrees, and you take a mental note to check which exams you have next. “Yeah. Do you have Professor Sejin? I hear he’s going to have a really long essay portion.” You ask, curious to find out how he’s going to cope with exams. You really do need some study tips… “Oh jeez… Yeah, I have him. You?” “Yep. I’m in his second period class.” “Dang. Early. He hasn’t said anything to our class, how did you find out about the essay length?” He pushes up his glasses, all attention focused on you. “Some of my friends had him last year, they say his essay requirements never change. Figures that he’d be a teacher that doesn’t let up, you know?” “Yeah. None of the older ones do.” You both laugh, and Namjoon asks if he can get you a drink. You say yes, and ask for a coffee because you know you’re going to be driving tonight. You two talk for a few hours, only interrupted a few times by Melanie and Taehyung leaving (to do who knows what), Ainsley laughing at Jin’s jokes (and telling you that Jin was off limits… maybe she will be getting over Chad tonight), and by Jimin’s insistence on buying everyone another round of drinks. You and Namjoon both declined, preferring coffee to alcohol. Eventually, you check the time and realize you have a lot of studying to do. “Damn, it’s nearly midnight.” You say, looking at your watch. “Wow. Yeah, it is. Do you want a ride home?” Namjoon asks, getting up with you. “Ah, no thanks, my car’s at Magic Shop. I’m going to walk over there and then drive home.” “Okay. Can I walk with you? My car’s a few blocks away, so I’ll probably be heading in the same direction.” “Sure,” you say, smiling. He’s nice. When you get to his car, you turn to him and see that he’s taking a pen out of his jeans pocket. Upon seeing your look of confusion, he smiles shyly. “I was going to ask for your number,” he says, “but you don’t have to give it to me if you don’t want to.” You smile, and take out your phone. “I think there’s an easier way to do that than writing on my arm.” He laughs, and pulls out his phone. After the exchange, he bids you good night, and you do the same before he drives off, in the direction of campus. You get home about twenty minutes later, and get a text almost immediately after walking through the door.

Kim Namjoon: Hey 12:03 You: Hi 12:05 Kim Namjoon: Do u want to study together tmr? 12:05 You: Sure! If it doesn’t bother you, of course. 12:05 Kim Namjoon: Lol 12:05 Kim Namjoon: I wouldn’t mind, + it’s a good chance to get studying in 12:06 You: Alright lol 12:06

You finish making plans, and you sigh happily to yourself. Finally, something to get you to actually do your homework.

~The Next Day~ You wake up to the sound of your phone alarm, playing the song “Rain” by BTS. Fitting, considering that it is raining pretty heavily outside. You have three new texts from Namjoon, as well as like fifty from your group chat with Melanie, Skylar, and Ainsley (Skylar was the only one who didn’t hook up with anyone, apparently).

Kim Namjoon: So it’s raining 8:20 Kim Namjoon: maybe we should study at the library instead? 8:20 Kim Namjoon: ur call lol 8:21 You: sure 8:46 You: i dont feel like dealing with soggy notes today lmao 8:46

After a laughing emoji from Namjoon, you get ready to go meet him.

You spot him almost immediately in the library. He’s the one person not wearing sweatpants and a sweatshirt, and he waves at you when you walk in.

“Hello stranger,” you say, winking. He smiles, his eyes crinkling behind his glasses as he smiled. “Nice meeting you too, y/n,” Namjoon says, patting the seat next to him, “have a seat.”

You sit down and pull out two of your textbooks and your computer, while Namjoon clears a space on the desk for you.

“So, what exam are you studying for? I’m finishing up with my Civ Pro studying.” “I’m working on my Modern Literature essay prep,” you say, pulling up the essay document on your computer. “Ooh, I could help with that, I took Modern Literature last year.” Namjoon says, adjusting his glasses. “Okay, thank you!” You say, warmly. And so your study session begins.

The next few hours are spent not only studying, but also joking around and giggling. Studying with Namjoon was fun, but also very productive. The most productive you’ve been in months. You schedule more sessions for the next few days, and leave the library feeling very satisfied. You’re definitely cool with having a study partner.
