Nausicaa - Tumblr Posts
Was in a silly goofy mood and colourized some pages from the Nausicaa manga. They’re a little rough around the edges because I Did This For Fun.
(To be clear I love and respect black and white comics and have nothing but respect for Miyazaki’s work, I just wanted to practice my comic colouring and happen to love this manga so much! All art by Hayao Miyazaki, colour by me)
My little homage to #nausicaa , for it has taught me a great deal of things, about art and storytelling but also life in general.

I've been watching my favorite Studio Ghibli movies so I of course had to drawing some things.
Why is it that everything good for you tastes so bad?
Appreciation post for: Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
I firmly believe this is perhaps one of the most underrated AND underappreciated Ghibli films of all time. I just finished reading the manga today too and holy shit you guys it was spectacular. Long, however definitely worth it!!!
The concept is magnificent- exploring the duality of nature and mankind; moral, political and environmental conflict; as well as the Nature of nature. I cannot recommend the manga enough if you want a full, in-depth experience. I want to buy the box set for my bday so bad
The women especially, like Nausicaa, and don't even get me started on Kushana. She is fucking amazing. So so awesome. I will have a separate post for them later. Anyways stan women like Nausicaa and Kushana.
Here, have some Kushana content, she is STUNNING:
an actual queen.
side note: the clothes they wear are so cool, I love the concept sm
Absolutely despicable.
2D men have warped my standards. They are now ridiculously high.
Ghibli men?? Have you seen them. Gorgeous men. Unpopular opinion but Ashitaka>>>
bruh have you seen this too????
ghibli men are the standard. goodbye.
thought i'd do a small ranking of the ghibli films i've watched because i'm bored hehe
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (def. interchangeable with Mononoke)
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away
Whisper of the heart/Laputa
Howl's Moving Castle
Ponyo/Kiki's delivery service/Totoro/The wind rises/Porco Rosso/Arietty
and of course there's grave of the fireflies which i am not willing to rank because that movie... is pure pain :((
i am actually so happy that there are posts about kushana and nausicaa of the valley of the wind here. honestly makes my day
My mum said that she’s gonna get me the Nausicaa manga box set and I’m pissing my pants with joy🤭🤭🤭
Literally going to isolate myself reading it again, but this time with a hard copy and posters of the art. I hope there will be Kushana art. I’m gonna have sm sticky notes and bookmarks of my fav interactions/quotes/drawings I’m so excited!!!
I love nausicaa sm it’s my favourite film/series omg. The manga is SO SO SOOO MUCH BETTER like there are 7 volumes and the Ghibli film covers like 1 volume. Maybe even less I don’t really remember. But ik for sure I was surprised when I found out Nausicaa had more depth than the film.
ghibli-ites:
Selection from Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind, composed by Joe Hisaishi, in music box format. I’m at the point where I’m not sure which ones I’ve posted and which I haven’t, so….bear with me if this is a repost!

1st February 2014
I swear I was doing another challenge! My challenge this month is to draw some fanart every day. Mostly so I can call it 'Fanart February'.
Here's day one, Nausicaa from Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984)
nausicaa is that you
Telemachus: I don't know how to tell you this, but... I love you.
Nausicaa: That's great, Telemachus. Especially considering the fact we've been married for 6 fucking years.
my nausicaä doll is finally complete! she has a cloth body and paper clay for head hands and feet (and the rifle as well). this project took me a long time and im super happy with how she turned out!
I intend to keep this account mainly art-based, but I wanted to share these pics of me cosplaying as my fictional hero, Nausicaä (of the Valley of the Wind).
I can't express enough how perfect Miyazaki has written this character. She was the hero that every living thing in her strong but gentle presence needed, in the movie AND manga. If you haven't seen either, I strongly recommend.
She is everything I hope to be as a person.
