"Hm" Taehyung kissed your forehead, eyes dashing up at the array of onlookers. He faked a smile before twisting your jaw towards him. Your inebriation had taken you hostage. He knew you weren't going to remember a thing. "Let's get you home" Hands cupping over your hips, he led you out of the ballroom. Fingers tracing the delicate detailing of your dress.

Breathe. You would tell him. It won't hurt forever I promise.

It’s all he had of you to hold onto. Your soft words, sweet whispers, tender lies. He’d gasp—waking up from shocking nightmares day in and day out. Year after year as he’d chase after you. Pleading—no, begging you not to fall into his mother's twisted web.

You’d tell him you cared for him, and he would almost believe you. But even back then, and even now, Taehyung was no fool. He could read you like an open book.

"Are you scared of me, princess?" There it was. The nickname. You stiffened as he leaned forward, fingers trailing up your jaw until he held your cheek in his palm. Held you gaze in his own, eyes drifting with mystery. His voice was so incredibly soft. Sweet even. Contrasting the ever so slightly amused glint in his eye.

You exhaled, heart throbbing through your ribs, almost to the point of suffocation.

"Yoongi Hyung," Taehyung shifted to look at Yoongi who was watching the scene unfold intently, lips pursed in worry. He appeared to care about you. Taehyung noted to ask you about the nature of your relationship with him. Once he had your trust, of course. "May we have the room?"

"Of course" Yoongi stood up slowly, looking to you for some sort of affirmation that it was okay to leave. You sent him a slight nod, to which his shoulders relaxed. "sir" He added, bowing briefly in Taehyung's direction before exiting the conference room.

How long had he been waiting for this moment? And never in a million years would he have thought that when you'd finally reunite, you would already be ready to marry him.

His hand slid forward, covering yours which was bawled up in a tight, quivering fist. Sighing, Taehyung lifted your hands to his lips, pressing against them as though they might slip away again forever. He didn't want to hold you too tightly and yet, he couldn't bring himself to let go. You continued to remain silent.

"I can't believe you're actually here. That I can actually see you and touch you and," He tugged at your arm until you met his eyes once again "God I missed you Y/n, you have no idea"

Tears swelled in your eyes, "I-I just, I am afraid. I'm really fucking afraid Taehyung, a-and confused, I just..."

Dropping your hands, Taehyung lept from his chair towards you, falling to his knees so he could wipe away your tears, "Hey, it's okay. We'll figure it out"

Truth be told, Taehyung had never been more afraid in his entire life. Afraid of you. Afraid of his feelings for you.

Afraid of the ability you had to drive him completely and utterly insane.

Yoongi shook the mixer, angled above his head as he had done a million times before. In front of him, the man of the hour—the so-called Kim Taehyung, sat with a dirty smirk on his face, eyes drilled onto the pair of die rolling in his palm.

“So”

It was in the job description. Make conversation with the guests. Yoongi had been around long enough to know how to make men like Kim Taehyung feel great about themselves, in more ways than one.

“Been a while since you’ve been home huh”

He set down the shaker, straining the drink mix into a margarita glass with a slight flick of his wrist. Taehyung watched the steady pour of the liquid.

“Absolutely” He smiled, although Yoongi could tell it was fake. He was a student after all. Medical student hoping to specialize in psychiatry.

“I had to come home. See my family—my brothers. After all,” He flashed his forearm at Yoongi, where the Kim crest was neatly tattooed, same as his brothers.

Yoongi squinted. He knew about the tattoo. He had seen it, both on Namjoon and Jin. He knew they got it after their mother died. But as far as he knew, Taehyung had left at a fairly young age, not keeping in contact with his family.

But Taehyung hadn’t been around for his mother’s death.

Right?

Yoongi pursed his lips.

2. KIM TAEHYUNG. Why do I get the feeling he is going to be INSANELY HOT? He’s super fascinating...haven’t had enough of him yet to be sure, but hes not what I expected and def not how Jimin portrayed him to be. He seems very smart and observant. I cant wait for him to meet yn!!! Cant believe he didnt know about his moms funeral or engagement either. My theory is that he was put in after one of his brothers (I think Jin) killed JK's dad and he witnessed it.

yes taehyung is very hot smart, that can be a bad thing or a good thing :) good theory about why he was put away, but there's more to it. if you notice in the flashback he's being asked to identify jk's father for some other reason. you'll find out why soon ;)

i just want to say that i rly appreciate how you're doing taes character development. that he's still upset and withdrawn after what happened and isnt like all over oc. like its really well done

tae has been hard to write bc he's really complex. like he cares about yn but, he's also trying to assimilate to the contrast of a materialistic, chaotic life from stark, lonely isolation. the next part is really fun for this concept. how tae will have to step up as yn begins to spiral. his take on her wanting to get into the nexus life. how he deals with the wealth and power when he's been powerless for so long (after all, he's the only kim left now!!)
