What do you think Adam Sifrin/Spooky's relationship to Judaism is like? I imagine it'd change a lot after death (If his identity remains fully intact, that is)
Adam had a very strained relationship with Judaism when he was alive still, regarding it the same as all organized religion, with contempt. He had trouble with the concept of God (and his demands) but while he was prepared to "allow" that He existed he had massive difficulties with "all the fucking hoops you have to jump through." So his beef was more often than not with religious people (including his family) rather than God and the concept of Judaism as a "philosophy". In his view you could do away with all the traditions and ceremonies and still be a decent human being (with God) even though he some times forgot himself to adhere to this (or had a twisted view of what it meant). At the same time he revelled in his Yiddishness as a cultural identity, causing even more clashes with those who claimed that being Yiddish and Judaism were inseparable, and even going as far as claiming that he had no right to call himself Yiddish if he didn't "follow the rules." After Adam died it counted in his favour that he considered the existence of God as possible (and even positive) but in the interest of harmony (cause I think that people would generally be "smoothed out" before entering heaven, rendering it more homogenous, and therefore peaceful, than it would otherwise be) and as a price he had to pay for his salvation he was stripped of most of the cultural facets of his personality (including the language). Ironically what was left with Spooky was most of the attitude, though it only emerged in full after he'd had more than his fill of Poshe. And possibly this was also a complication of the administrative fuck up that had occurred and he was reverting back as he passed over the time that he should have served in the human realm. Spooky is aware of all of the religion and language having existed in his mind and disappeared, and it frustrates him horribly (had he entered into heaven as intended he would have forgotten and embraced his salvation as a "clean slate" ideology wise). He would like nothing more than be able to chew Poshe out in Yiddish. Especially since he's pretty sure Poshe wouldn't understand him. What effects staying in the human world, and possibly with diminishing influence from Heaven/Hell will have on Spooky in the long run is impossible to tell.

Would Adam have gotten along better with Poshe than Spooky does?
I think so, yes. Adam would have appreciated that Poshe very much just takes his own direction, as long as their interests wouldn't clash they would have gotten along. Adam and Poshe would have found plenty of reasons to call each other names, they are both bull headed af, but I think Adam would have been entertained by Poshes impulsiveness and would have liked to bring him along to like parties and stuff and just watch the carnage. Poshes constant "why can't people just be themselves" lament would have resonated with Adam as well, given that he wouldn't find out that the human form Poshe is absolutely not what he really is. 😅
