Long-post [part 2. Sankishi/ Three divine children: Amaterasu and Susanoo]

[I decided to make a separate post about Tsukuyomi because my post is very long] As discussed in the previous post, in real mythology these three are relatives. It is not yet clear whether this is the case in the game universe.

Amaterasu, godness-empress of Takamagahara, the supreme god of all gods

As in reality, in the Onmyoji game universe she is also the Empress of Takamagahara. Having absorbed all the clichés of the ultra-good gods, it turns out that she's not so good. Either out of her own stupidity, or out of boundless altruism, she has brushed aside her sins.

We see the results throughout the game

How did it ever occur to such a good goddess to judge all sin on the basis of her divinity? Permissiveness? The realization that no one will stand against you because even brute force is on your side (Susanoo, yes)?

I understand that the developers may not have been heavily invested in her development in terms of character development, but we got what we got. Also, it's a very atypical course of history as opposed to our reality

In any case, her justice has overshadowed the eyes of the other gods for many hundreds, thousands of years (I guess this world too has lived the well-known "before the common era"). I think some gods, such as Tsukuyomi, realized pretty quickly that Amaterasu was, to put it mildly, unsuited to the role of supreme ruler of the land of the gods. However, the moonlord chose to wait for a good moment, after all. Takamagahara in its original form was incredibly powerful and mostly because of Susanoo, the supreme god of all war gods (according to Amaterasu, but that does not prevent him from being the god of the storm).

So far it is difficult to judge Amaterasu as a whole, but judging from the fact that many gods are still waiting for her return, she was not too bad a ruler. However, with a fucking disgusting judiciary

I don't know if Amaterasu wanted the world to love her as much as she didn't love others. Let's be honest, it's like Amaterasu gets dumber when she judges others. You have a lot of sins yourself, but you just forgot about them. When sins are separated from her, they become powerful beings that not all gods can match wtf (Susanoo, how is your hand?).

It is rather naive to think that beings created by your love should worship and love you. After all, they didn't ask to be created. Life is so very hard, especially when you live in the 10th century with a bunch of other races and monsters around lol

When Orochi directly asks her questions that she can't answer, she literally sinks herself even deeper to the bottom, seriously. Here Orochi is more right than ever, but I think that even without his help people would have stopped worshipping gods with the advancement of technology and improved quality of life.

Susanoo says that in order to become the supreme god, the sunshine for all, she has put away all her sins. I think everyone is well aware that such methods have never been and will never be the solution.

I wonder who helped her seal away her embodied sins? Susanoo and Tsukuyomi? Besides, Orochi got into this place so easily, as if he wasn't hard to find... Or he got a tip from someone at Sankishi :)

Susanoo, god of storm, thunder and lightning, and God-general of all the gods of war

As Orochi once said (in his biography), he is like a blind follower. In time, however, the evil god began to realize that he only thinks this way. In fact, we see that in SP Orochi's Memory Scrolls, despite observing the subordination, he is not afraid to ask and question the goddess-empress Amaterasu.

The only strange thing is that he thought about the truthfulness of the words of the six evil gods only after he had fought them. Dude, were you lying to yourself or…?

When it comes to character, Susanoo seems to be a very terse, almost emotionless god, focused on his work. In the battle with the six evil gods you can say that he is incredibly cruel (even the six evil gods were shocked by his actions), able to fight literally until his last breath (well, here it is a matter of his duty, nothing new).

In real mythology, Susanoo also cannot be called a good or bad god. Certainly, in some myths he is also the god of other fields, but in the game the focus was on thunder and lightning :)

What is striking is that Susanoo is literally obsessed with duty and justice. I remember when in event SP Orochi the gods chose him as executioner, and he didn't seem to mind too much, given how enthusiastically he did what he was told under the guise of justice.

Separately, it is worth noting his willfulness. He simply wouldn't listen to what Amaterasu was saying. I think that as he began to realize (or maybe stopped lying to himself) who he was serving, he decided to do what he had to do without relying on orders. There is another possibility: he is just incredibly obsessed with justice and decided to do what is fairer: go to the evil god himself, after all, he is not a weak.

Fun fact: in fact, in our reality it was Susanoo who wanted to overthrow Amaterasu, but failed :)

In the game, however, it is made as much as possible as a watchdog. However, he's not called that directly anywhere, but I'll talk about the inaccuracy of translation and the permissiveness of translators in another post lol.

The scene of Susabi and Susanoo's meeting looks interesting and very vague. Apparently, Susanoo suspected something wrong in Tsukuyomi's own prediction and decided to check everything through Tsukuyomi's student. However, Susabi saw nothing but a terrible future. Susanoo said it was all the shenanigans of an evil god. He said he had to do something and had to leave. There is a possibility that some of Susanoo's actions were to play along with the evil god (for example, making a deal in prison to learn something. It is unlikely that Susanoo could have known that Orochi would take his body).

At the end of the SP Orochi event, we learn that Susanoo has sworn to carry the fate of the whole world. I assume that in this way he wants to atone for his guilt to Amaterasu and mitigate his sins. In real mythology, after he apologized to Amatarasu, he gave her the sword of Kusanagi (as a sign of reconciliation) and no longer lived in Takamagahara. He went to live in the human world in Izumo. I hope something similar happens in the game. I don't want such a cool character to be made a dumb watchdog

At the end of the battle with Orochi, Susanno said that in a thousand years he would show him his true destiny, which aroused the surprise of the evil god. I think Orochi realized that Susanno already knew this outcome. I don't have any other explanation (well I do, but it's not too logical lol)

And now about the theory that Susanoo is Kagutsuchi, the very god of fire that we saw in the comic.

This image makes me and my friends doubt that he is exclusively the god of the storm. This hairstyle.. It's so similar to Susanoo's hairstyle...

This also includes my illogical justification for Susanoo being a fire god. Because of Orochi's reaction at the end of the event. However, it is more logical to think that Orochi realized that Susanoo knew about the outcome of events. Otherwise he wouldn't have been so surprised, and how the hell is he supposed to have a clue that he is the god of fire? That's how this illogical justification died.

After watching the Memory Scrolls (SP Orochi) again, I notice that Susanoo also has steam coming out of his mouth like the fire god (when he returned wounded to protect Amaterasu). On the other hand, it's similar to Orochi's defilement, the same kind of steam coming from the Orochi deity...

It's also strange that when Susanoo's gloves tear, you can see the incredibly long claws. He is, of course, the god of the storm, but these claws...

Also the mark on his head looks strange. He is the god of thunder, of lightning, of storms after all. What sun? What if it is the seal that holds back his true identity as the god of fire? The lightning strikes can also make fire...

I think his version before becoming a shikigami would have been exactly the god of fire. If, of course, he is a fire god at all lol. Or maybe it's just the same hairstyle that was used :D

It is also rumored that Susanoo is the father of Asura. We can only hope that, despite the interconnectedness between Buddhism and Shintoism, the developers will not mix these two separate mythologies and beliefs. This is certainly interesting, but it sounds like religious nonsense. Although the official information that we will see Asura's father did come out.

The new plot trailer reveals a very interesting detail! According to real mythology, after a quarrel with her brother Susanoo, Amaterasu hid in a cave and the whole world was plunged into darkness. The real story also mentions that the dance was performed by the goddess of happiness, joy, dance, and theater, Ame no uzume.

The game briefly states that Amaterasu had already left once before. So in the game we see that Seimei suggested that the goddess empress of Takamagahara might be awakened by dancing (and apparently by song). And we also see Suzuhikohime, who is no longer Ame no uzume, but who still has her power. We also see the master dancer Shiranui and the goddess Kinnara, who excels at playing the biwa. Finally, we also see a new shikigami, a peacock girl Kujaku Myo, who I think dances beautifully. Apparently, the dance performed by these beautiful girls will have to awaken the sun goddess.

I was thinking about it while I was translating Amaterasu's speech. I realized that Izanagi created the world himself, and after that the other gods woke up. Amaterasu began to create everything inside this empty world with her light, giving an example to other gods, and they also began to add their creations. Legends say that the supreme goddess Amaterasu once separated sins from herself.
