The Don Diaries
So it begins, Don is enrolled in high school and immediately starts vague-bunnying.
Loyal Duchelli-readers may remember that Daddy Don was once dance captain.
So what could be more appropriate than having Teen Don join the Cheer Team?
It's a great way to meet girls - unless the girls get too distracted by the cheer competition judge, whose name is Carlisle, because of course it is.
Don is generally having a mixed bag of a time in school. First, he can barely get the principal to tear herself away from a riveting game of chess to welcome him.
He does, however, immediately click with Sidney Price, and they're great friends almost instantly.
On his second day of school there's an exam, which is already kinda unfair, but his teacher also decides to begin the exam by farting loudly. Rude.
... and immediately after the exam, a fights breaks out.
The week still ends on a high note, though, as Don's cheer team wins the cheer competition despite this utterly pathetic display.
I guess it helps that they were the only team entering the competition.
At home, Don's parents spend their time having zero chill.
They have an almost uncanny tendency to find each other every time they're left alone for a second.
Adriana will also spend time teaching her son to cook, though.
Don is struggling to find a prom date, since he's only been at his new school for two days.
He is also often interrupted by having to go "uuugh, seriously" and leave the room whenever his parents start slow dancing near him. Which is constantly.
We finally make it to prom without a date, and Don is instantly cornered by this girl from his cheer team, Alena.
Don also really likes Sidney's sister, Savannah, already, but he discovers that she is aroace and thus not a potential date, but they're close friends.
Don does manage a dance with Alena, though. Is there potential?
Sadly, just then, they get interrupted by the prom announcement.
Apparently Alena is prom jester? Don definitely voted for his friend Sidney for king though.
β¦ I guess they're salty about losing? π
What's this? Prom was ending, but this girl invites the cheer team to the pier for an after party. Interesting.
Don would not be Don if he didn't try to invite Alena to the cuddle carts.
Well, shit.
Surely there must be other ways to win Alena's affections?
I mean, that's certainly one method.

Father Mayhew: We appreciate you being here on short notice and on Christmas Day, at that. I know you both are very busy, and your time is very valuable. Nonetheless, we must discuss a serious and- rather uncomfortable incident concerning your daughters.
Father Mayhew: Mr. Villareal, weβve counseled Vanessa since her enrollment, and she is at war with these inner demons. We have a program we can refer her to- a reclusive facility for the youth that has a firm approach to her...inclination that we can discuss in detail. She will be cured of her illness.
Father Mayhew: [sighs] Regarding Nancy, Mrs. Landgraab, we are beside ourselves. There were no prior indications of her being homosexual. After careful thought, we would like her to continue her education here, under the guidance of our church. We understand you both value discretion, as do we at St. Maryβs. You have our word, this will never see the light of day.
