Police Officer Daichi Will Be The Death Of Me - Tumblr Posts
Breaking the law is not something you've ever tried to do.
You're not a stickler for rules you just...don't have an interest in making trouble, especially making trouble on purpose.
But after seeing that guy in uniform?
You start to weigh the risks.
The next time you see him he's, sadly, not on duty. Your friend knows his friend so when you're out getting coffee one day and the two of you bump into the two of them--Sugawara and Daichi as you're properly introduced--you can't help yourself.
"I think I've seen you around before," you say slyly to Daichi and his smile is pleasant, congenial, when you describe the time and place.
"Routine patrol," he admits. "I'm usually assigned that area."
You hum "so...you're not one of the officers out catching 'bad guys'?"
He smirks, a touch of humor. "Only if they cross my path."
"And then what?" You banter "are you the one who locks them up?"
Daichi's eyes sparkle curiously at your tone. "If they've committed a crime serious enough...though it's usually enough just to give someone a warning or, at most, write them a ticket."
Your friend and Sugawara exchange an amused look that you and Daichi miss.
The conversation wraps up quickly after that but the attractive officer who doubles as a strong, sturdy civilian doesn't leave your mind.
He's back in action patrolling on foot with his partner the next time you see him.
You exchange a friendly greeting, warmth building in your chest. "And how's the neighborhood today? Am I safe walking around alone like this?"
His partner smirks but Daichi just lightly chuckles. "Yes, you'll be fine."
"Are you sure?" you ask. "I might need a police escort...you never know where a criminal might be lurking."
Daichi snorts. "No criminals in sight."
Without looking away from Daichi you step toward the street and repeat "are you suuure?"
He frowns lightheartedly, his partner watching with reserved entertainment. "What are you doing?"
Though the crosswalk is only a car length away you dramatically step into the street very much not in it.
"Nothing officer," you reply innocently with a devious smile that makes Daichi smirk.
"Use the crosswalk." He crosses his arms staring you down.
"Or what?" You grin taking another step away from the sidewalk.
He scoffs wryly. "I'll give you a ticket."
"Hmmm." You tap your chin looking him up and down. "Will it have your number?"
Daichi's trying to suppress a smile as his partner shakes his head. "My badge number? Of course."
"I was hoping for your phone number," you admit without moving any further into the street.
Daichi gives a quiet, deep laugh and takes out his pad as you skip back to the sidewalk with a victorious grin. Then he rips off the top sheet and offers it to you.
"Thank you officer." You beam and he gives you a flat look with a small smile. "I'll be on my best behavior from now on."
You watch him go, admiring the back side of his uniform, finally looking down at--
The ticket.
He actually wrote you a ticket!
"For harassing a law enforcement officer?!" you shriek, making a few heads turn in your direction.
You cringe with embarrassment and hustle to the nearest station. As the train pulls in and rustles the ticket in your hand you notice something else scribbled on the back:
Just kidding. Consider this a warning and don't do it again, especially so it doesn't encourage anyone else.
You grin ear-to-ear at the phone number underneath.
