Pile 1: You can carry the burden of being wronged for a while. Once you reach a certain limit though, the gloves come off. Any consequences after that point are almost moot because you don't even care. I even see you being easily able to recruit others to a cause because they empathize with your struggle, and for how long you quietly suffered before deciding to take action.

It's really heartbreaking, you know, Kikyo IS evil when she's face to face with Inuyasha and Kagome, because she's stuck in the past, Inuyasha is her past and to think that Kagome is his future it's to much for her to bear, Kikyo wants to be everything to Inuyasha, and OF COURSE that is egoistic but I think that's precisely the reason why she keeps herself away from him, Kikyo is struggling to regain her humanity and knows that the less she sees him the better. (Yeah, it's also that she does know that there is no more a place for her by Inuyasha's side but that is not all).

Meanwhile kikyo is teaching and being a absolute mommy to these kids just trying to exist in the world, not made for her.
All right here I am with yet another session of "My mind investigating Kikyo". (The Kikyo of the past, precisely, that is, the priestess who used to live in the village with her sister Kaede).
She wanted to be a normal woman. Got it. But... What would "normal" mean to her? She was fed up with demons to chase and the Shikon Jewel to protect and purify, though her role as healer doesn't seem to weigh on her (if the Kikyo of the present and her life style is any indication). So... Did she still want to be a priestess (thus implying her only tedium was her role as fighter) or what she wanted was closing wholly with that life?
It is said that her powers had been getting weak. Does it mean she was meant to lose them entirely? Or maybe she would become something like a "lower priestess"?
And... Well, this is the more important point and also the one more open to different interpretations I presume... Would a normal life actually fit her? Or what she truly needed was an ally, a friend, a lover, someone to open her heart and so feeling less alone?
The only point I kinda disagree with is the part about Kikyo's wish to see Inuyasha again. Now I can't remember very well how it goes in the anime, but the Kikyo from the manga upon her forced resurrection says openly that she didn't want to see him, and that sounds logic since back then she thought Inuyasha had betrayed and deathly wounded her, so her only dying wish was for the Shikon Jewel to disappear off the face of the earth. Though... Well, of course a person is not made of logic alone, hate and love can even cohexist within the same heart, so it is still possible that deep inside at least a little part of her did want another chance to see Inuyasha again.
you ever think about how all kikyo wanted was a normal life as a regular girl? how she just wanted to wear rogue on her lips and fall in love with boys, and the one time she lets herself do that she's killed for it? and how even when her soul is reincarnated, she is still denied that quiet, normal life? you ever think about kikyo?

A quick Kikyo ♡ the color is a little off from the actual paper. The sky is supposed to be a purple blue.🤷♀️ Maybe I'll work on it more later.
