Currently watching Star Trek DS9 again and thinking about this line from the episode Fascination:
(Odo is briefing his Starfleet stand-in for the Festival.) ODO: I usually make it a point to drop by Quark's three or four times a day at random intervals, just to let him know that I'm thinking about him. But seeing today is a holiday, he'll be busier than usual. I suggest you station a man there full time. I think that about covers it. If you need me, I'll be on the Promenade.
Like um... I don't think it's normal to go to Quark's that often just to let him know you're thinking about him. Odo couldn't even be bothered to say, "Oh I go by to make sure everything is in order and to make sure nothing illegal is going on." He literally just says that he wants Quark to know that he's thinking about him?!?? Also why are you telling this to the poor random sap who has to do your job during the festival. What's he going to do, stroll into Quark's and say, "Btw Odo is thinking about you," at least 3 times a day? Do you want to just put a guy there to remind Quark every few minutes that Odo is thinking about him every second that they're apart???

Late night sketches of my favourite space losers! Been reading ‘The Big Game’ by Sandy Schofield and it made me think of Odo as a noir detective and I can’t get it out of my head T-T (great book btw nearly finished it in a week) Like Julian has his spy James Bond stuff why can’t Odo?

Re-watching ds9 made me insane. I black out, the next thing I know it’s been 11 hours and this is sitting in my procreate gallery. And yes I know the background looks nothing like Quark’s bar however I simply refuse to correct it.

That soft little “You’re going to leave me?” Quark whimpers after Odo says he’s giving to climb the mountain by himself, they’re so pathetic❤️❤️❤️🥺🥺🥺
Can we talk about how in S3E7 Civil Defense there was literally no reason for Quark to stay with Odo. “This is the safest place on the whole station, I’m staying right here.” bitch you just wanna be with your boyfriend stfu
And omg later in another scene when Odo takes Quark’s phaser away because he might hurt himself and then they have their little heart to heart and Odo tells Quark he’s the most devious Ferengi he’s ever met, and Quark goes genuine for a moment: “Thank you Odo…. that means a lot to me.” And then immediately follows that up by leaning closer to him and asking all softly with puppy dog eyes: “Now, ...Can I have my phaser back?” BRO HE’S ALMOST WHIMPERING THAT LINE OUT ISTG-
I think the reason no-one on DS9 ever tried to make Odo and Quark get along is because the sheer amount of chaos power that they would wield if they'd got along with one another would bring the station to a fiery and destructive end.
I mean you all saw that little moment at the end One Little Ship (S6E14) where Odo was messing with Bashir and O'Brien about their height and Quark just sensed his mischievous energy from across the bar and saddled up next to him to join along the fun and they giggled together about it, those two would ruin countless lives.
