Quilt Pattern - Tumblr Posts

*Whew!* I need one more square for each background. We had trouble laying it out because even using the whole center of the room we still had to squish them together somewhat. I feel like something it off-kilter with the dark blue rows, but I'm going to try to put some blocks together in sections and hopefully, if there's an error near the bottom, I will be able to figure out what it is while that part is still laid out on the floor in pieces.
Quilt update: I finally finished the matching pillow cases!

The original quilt is almost all from scraps and the pillow cases are scraps from those scraps, so my color options were extremely limited, but! Complete at last!

The white constellation fabric in the pillowcases is from a flat sheet I cut into for the quilt backing, but the rest of the sheet set is alive and well and featured in this staging :)
The cases are mostly paper pieced but also include my first ever attempt at American traditional piecing… I didn’t like it lol. Now I can say they are completely hand pieced, but at what cost??

Working on my next quilt top (with help)

Proof of concept! This is the 56x56 quilt, scrappy as my stash requires. …that center block needs some finagling before I piece it all together, though.
Finished my quilt!!!

Dirty floor pics of a disappearing nine patch. The border is a little busy, but I’m planning to make this even busier with black quilting. The fabric was a charm pack my gram didn’t want. The color scheme is a little dated but I really enjoyed making up a way to do a disappearing nine patch.

black sharpie on bond paper
San Francisco 2003
I spent Christmas 2003 with some friends in San Francisco. They lived in this big two-hundred-year-old house that sat on the prison grounds of San Quentin penitentiary. It's a long story actually but what I remember most was the bed. The guest room of the house had this large old four posted wooden bed frame with the softest thickest most wonderful mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. I will never forget the moment when I laid down and sank into the loving folds of that luxurious mattress. I felt embraced by softness, and I fell asleep as if floating on a cloud.
When I awoke the next morning I was amazed at the time. I had slept through the entire night without waking up once. I felt wonderfully refreshed.
After breakfast I sat down with my sharpie and drew both of these drawings in a single sitting.
