Simon knows Izzy struggles with self-acceptance. He knows that she has a hard time asking for help, leaning on others or admitting she’s not okay.

He notices how she overworks herself so the other shadowhunters can take a day off, go out, forget about the dangers lurking in the shadows for a little while. Sees her rub her eyes from too many sleepless nights. She never complains, but he sees her sigh tiredly whenever she thinks nobody looks.

She takes out her frustration in the gym, she hits the boxing bag until her knuckles are covered in blood. She always uses an iratze so the others can’t tell, but Simon can smell the lingering scent of blood on her fingers.

Simon starts crying one night thinking how lonely she must’ve been all these years. Izzy doesn’t see him because she’s working all night again.

In the morning, he hugs her tight and tells her he loves her and makes her breakfast and cuddles her as she falls asleep on his chest while they’re watching superhero movies.

He makes himself promise that he’ll never take these moments for granted. Izzy allows herself to be vulnerable with him, she trusts him and that matters to him more than anything. Because Izzy doesn’t open herself to others easily. And the fact that she lets him see inside her soul is the most beautiful gift he could’ve asked for. This amazing woman chose him to stand beside her and love her and for that he’s grateful.

Isabelle means the world to Simon and he’ll make sure she knows she’s not alone anymore.

You know why I find their friendship so incredibly endearing? Because of how genuine Harry’s laughter is everytime Matt says something funny and how adoringly proud Matt looks everytime he makes Harry laugh. Because of how in sync they are sometimes and how they finish each other’s sentences. Because of how on point their impressions of each other’s selfie faces were. God, there are so many reasons for why I love them. And I am so happy and so grateful to be here now and to witness the evolution of their relationship, how this precious, fragile little thing between them will grow into a big and strong friendship. Because of that I am sure. :)
