Rebuildnewcrest - Tumblr Posts

Here are a few photos of my second build for the Rebuild Newcrest challenge. I have been feverishly building every chance I get. This residential lot is a work in progress - I have yet to decorate the interiors at all (I wish had more time!). I’m attempting to make Newcrest slightly more urban and this build is inspired by brownstone homes in New York.

Countdown to Dine Out...
My third build for Rebuild Newcrest is a restaurant lot that I’m calling Rossi’s Chum-cheria & Gelateria. I can’t wait to add all the new game pack stuff.

Rossi’s Chum-cheria & Gelateria is my second build for the Rebuild Newcrest Challenge. I’m excited to share it!
Rossi’s Chum-cheria & Gelateria is a neighborhood restaurant that serves Italian classics, with special focus on pizza and gelato. The Rossi family opened the restaurant many years ago after moving from Monte Vista and it has since become a neighborhood favorite and was voted best pizza and gelato in Newcrest.
Details:
Lot Size: 30x20
Lot Type: Restaurant
Location: Newcrest (looks best on a corner lot).
Cost: $170,471
CC-free.
Requires all expansion, game, and stuff packs.
There are two restaurants on this lot – the pizzeria in the front (3 floors) and the gelateria in the back (2 floors and a roof terrace). Four bathrooms. Both lots are fully furnished on the ground floors. The pizzeria has a cozy bar and more seating on the second floor. The remaining floors have been left unfurnished to do as you please.
Staff clothing and custom menu settings have been selected.
Play-tested as both customer and owner.

I’d love it if you tagged me (#vicarious-sims) if you use my builds because I’d enjoy seeing them in your games. Feel free to do what you want with the lot, but please don’t re-upload or claim as your own.

Sim for Download - Gia Harlow
I created Gia Harlow for the Rebuild Newcrest Challenge. I’m in the process of building a photography studio/art gallery for her to own, but I thought I’d share her now.
Gia Harlow grew up in a small town but yearned to live in the big city. She recently moved to Newcrest to pursue her dream of becoming a tattoo pinup model and photographer. Gia’s motto is try anything (or anyone) once…perhaps she’ll break a few hearts along the way.

The moon casting an eerie light on my converted warehouse home.

While playtesting my latest build, a converted warehouse home, I went a little crazy with taking photos so I decided to share a few. I can’t stop being awestruck by the improved lighting - it makes everything look so much better.

The trials and tribulations of building and decorating homes without using custom content...
So I’m back to building/decorating my converted warehouse home, which I intend to share soon. My design inspiration is luxury industrial - sort of Restoration Hardware meets urban townhouse. I’m attempting to do completely cc-free builds whenever possible and luckily there’s a fair amount of industrial content in the game. So with a bit of creativity and ingenuity and a whole lot of cheats (thank god for MOO and hidden objects) it’s actually easier than I thought.

Uh oh...who can spot the “magical” floating boxes? Sometimes I love MOO and sometimes it drives me mad.

Newcrest is so scenic at night... I love the way the city backdrop illuminates the night sky. It has me intrigued about what the next world will look like for the City Life EP.

Gael DeCosta hanging out with friends and enjoying some much deserved fun after being forced to playtest multiple lots.

The basement of my converted warehouse home. Almost finished with this build!

Kashaya returned to Newcrest for a short visit with friends Gia Harlow and Nico Hopper. They checked out the newly opened Refinery Pool & Rec, an old derelict refinery that had been converted into a mixed-use community center and public pool. Kashaya had a great time gossiping with Gia (and discussing who should win the Sims Next Top Model), showing off her swan dive, and flirting with a cute guy by the pool.

I decided to revisit the brownstones, my second build for Newcrest. I thought I’d try making them cc-free, which was not as difficult as I had thought. I’m really excited to see what this build looks like in San Myshuno, which is the city world I envisioned when I built the brownstones (here’s hoping there’s an empty lot in the Brooklyn inspired neighborhood).

The Brickery Food Market (WIP)
I finally have a little more simming time so I have revisited some of my old builds. The Brickery Food Market was my first build for the Rebuild Newcrest challenge (and my third build for this game). I’m in the final stages of play testing and I’m excited to finally share it soon.
