The trials and tribulations of building and decorating homes without using custom content...
So I’m back to building/decorating my converted warehouse home, which I intend to share soon. My design inspiration is luxury industrial - sort of Restoration Hardware meets urban townhouse. I’m attempting to do completely cc-free builds whenever possible and luckily there’s a fair amount of industrial content in the game. So with a bit of creativity and ingenuity and a whole lot of cheats (thank god for MOO and hidden objects) it’s actually easier than I thought.

Uh oh...who can spot the “magical” floating boxes? Sometimes I love MOO and sometimes it drives me mad.

More interior photos of my converted warehouse home.

The basement of my converted warehouse home. Almost finished with this build!

Dammit foul dishes, you’re messing with my simspirational vibe. I’m trying to build my dream house and live vicariously through my sims; if I wanted dirty dishes I can have those in real life!
P.S. See @jenba - you don’t have to worry because you’re not the only one whose build photos are plagued by stinky dishes.

Looking good, feeling good.

I just finished decorating my first apartment... Samaira seems pleased with it.

I’m on to decorating my second apartment in San Myshuno. I’m calling it the “urban gardener apartment” because it’s designed for a city dweller who loves plants and gardening. I think Ziva Blumenfeld, botanist and founder of the San Myshuno Farm Co-op, is settling into her new place.

Finding tranquility on the urban gardener balcony…
After a long day at work, Ziva Blumenfeld (botanist and founder of San Myshuno Farm Co-op) unwinds by relaxing on her balcony.

Slowly, the chaos of the city fades away... bright lights dim into the gentle flickering of a candle, deafening noise decrescendos to the soft gurgling of a fountain, and you escape, if only for a moment, the eternal frenetic pace of city life.

More pics of my makeover of 18 Culpepper House, which I’m calling the glamourista apartment because it’s designed for a glamour girl or guy (I was imagining a social media star). I want to thank everyone who liked/commented on this build (shout out to @wafflekone, @shysimblr, @kilra0, @earthtomarvel, and @peanutbutterjay for their nice comments) and because it was requested that I share, I thought I’d show my appreciation by making it available for download soon.

After struggling with a couple of weird glitches (a random black window and curtains turning blue or disappearing all together...ugh) I think this apartment is finally ready to share.

I was almost finished with the Brickery Food Market but I kept having this feeling that something was missing. I finally realized that it needed more retail displays/food stalls to look like an actual food market. Then I decided that even though it’s a restaurant, there should also be an option to use it as a retail lot (and why not a cafe and bar while I’m at it... I swear, why do I do this to myself?). So I’m back to play testing one final time. Long story short, I promise to put this lot in the gallery in the next few days.
