Juvenile Red-tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis)
August 23, 2023
Southeastern Pennsylvania

“The last day at the parish”
Local bitter ass motherfucker looks down at his exgirlfriend and refuses to further knowledge her existence, not knowing this was going to be the last time they saw each other alive.

“14 and a half years old”
Augusto and Melora freshly into 8th grade.

“Beg me for mercy, admit you were toxic
You poisoned me just for another dollar in your pocket!
Now I am the violence. I am the sickness.
Won’t accept your silence. Beg me for forgiveness!”
-Blood //water; Grandson.
“Blood” art. It’s the first time I do something with a water medium and I had no watercolor paper available, so I had to use normal paper and it wrinkled a little bit when it absorbed everything. All in all, I like how it looks, specially for being the first time I do something like this. I liked it so maybe I’ll do something like this again!
Just as a disclaimer, it’s FAKE blood, but if it were real blood, it would’ve been extracted from me, the artist, in ethical and harmless ways, no animals or humans were harmed <333

Human development is destructive, but cities are more biodiverse than a lot of people realize. Here’s a shoutout to the resilient, adaptive creatures that thrive on the periphery of human-dominated habitats. Please be kind to them - they are our neighbors.
Me seeing anything about the red tailed hawk:
You're doing great sweetie, keep it up!
Tag yourself as underappreciated North American fauna!

it’s crazy how much diversity there can be in one species…these are all pictures of the same bird species (red-tailed hawk)

Limnanthes
The flower at the center of the red-tailed hawk is Limnanthes vinculans, endemic to our area. The leaves in the background are based on the buckeye forests. The butterflies are California sisters, which are common here, but very beautiful.
