Richard Nixon - Tumblr Posts
As always, a small remark without major consequences.

There were times when presidents resigned because of wiretapping their political opponents.
Watergate.
We don't think Nixon deserved the name tricky dick from today's perspective.
Where has moral decency and the social norm for reprehensibility gone?
What do you have to do to be held accountable - a coup d'état attempt is not it?
American is quite correct - in the case of child abuse, that's really the only thing that could stop him!
Unless a nasty question is a 14 year old who looks like a twenty year old can also get away by him?
Really nasty comment, but that's probably the only thing that could stop him. We don't insinuate that he would do that and we believe he knows his limits even though his limits don't have anything to do with decency.

The man has no moral compass and yet everyone who would like to get rid of the "woke" moral compass loves him.
Some politicians are able to captivate their listeners with their rhetorical fluency and apparent brilliance. However, there are also instances where real estate developers, bankruptcies and convicted felons who were once presidential actors believe that the self-description of a significant property like "hot on an old red-haired man" is a fitting one.

When the content is devoid of intellectual rigor and rhetorical brilliance, the exterior, the volume, the repetition, and the untruth become the outward manifestations of a lack of political culture.
Nixon resigned from the presidency due to the Watergate scandal, and it is evident that he was not a particularly moral individual. However, the threshold had been surpassed, and the social situation would not have permitted otherwise.
What constitutes the present red line? Or is there no longer any threshold beyond which actions may not be taken?
The boundaries of acceptability have been significantly eroded, with the exception of lies, bankruptcy, a criminal conviction, incitement to subversion, racist remarks, and hostility towards women.
Please accept this as an imperfect understanding of morality, responsibility and personal intrigue.
What further actions must this man take before he becomes unelectable?
There is not much that remains, including child abuse, child molestation and murder. We will leave the remainder to your imagination.
It is unacceptable for any politician to publicly admit that they are attracted to someone. That is something that should be left to the prostitute they pay for.

The constant need for validation is pathological.
No, man, you were never hot.
Do your remember....!

#OTD August 8th 1974
37th President of the USA, President Richard M. Nixon spoke to the US people to announce that he would be resigning the presidency, effective from Midday August 9th 1974. He spent the day with his Vice President, Gerald R. Ford, re-drafting his speech and spending time with his Wife, Pat, his two Daughters Trisha and Julie and his son-in-laws. Nixon addressed the USA at 9.01 p.m. ET (Easter Time).

ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN (Dir: Alan J Pakula, 1976).
Sometimes you forget how powerful a storytelling medium film can be until you watch a truly great movie. Such is the case with Alan J Pakula’s masterpiece All the President’s Men. Goodness knows why it has taken me 45 years to finally watch it.
Recent events in US politics, and indeed the years leading up to them, may have de-sensitised some to political corruption or at least ruined their appetite for movies about political corruption. Fret thee not as All the President’s Men is less a film about politics, rather the investigative journalists who uncovered the Watergate scandal which eventually led to the impeachment of 37th US president Richard Nixon.

Listening to Epic is this intense battle between “they’re a very bad person, they’ve done awful things, they’re DOING awful things” and “damn their voice is hot.”
