In the early hours of the next morning, Namjoon wakes up next to your body. His first reaction, however, is not what he was expecting. With a scrunch of his nose, he sputters, spitting out your hair from his mouth. Struggling with it, his hand unwraps from your waist as he attempts to push your hair out of his face and towards the opposite direction. Moments later, once completely out of his mouth, Namjoon’s eyes spot your face. It takes him a couple of moments to comprehend the scene before his eyes soften.
Your features are completely serene, eyelids fluttering every now and then as your eyes move under them. Your nose twitches intermittently and your eyebrows knot together slightly on occasion. Briefly, he wonders what you’re dreaming about and whether you’re dreaming of him. He feels your warmth envelop him, your skin slightly tacky against his as you stick to him, your legs entangled with each other; as if you were glued together.
Knowing he probably only has a little while before you wake up, he marginally shifts away from you, so he can further take you in. The moment there is space between your bodies, however, your lips unconsciously pull into a frown before you seek his warmth. Cocking an eyebrow, Namjoon watches you feel around for him. Once your arm makes contact with his chest, you shift closer towards him, curling into his body before letting out a sigh of content.

Sitting on Namjoon’s sofa, you’re surrounded by the boys as you play an intense game of Mario Kart. Rap Mon is currently curled on the floor, his tail flicking lazily as he watches the screen. Jungkook’s small body - as usual - lies on your dog, using Monie as his person pillow. Not that your dog minds really - especially with the way he’s got his head perched on Jungkook’s small knee. Jimin sits against his father’s lap, watching as Namjoon helplessly tries to steer Toadette’s pram around the circuit. Taehyung, on the other hand, is seated on your lap, and you hold the wheel close to your body - allowing the little boy to press the button.
Usually, Jungkook would be glued to you; and for the most part, he still is. However, when Namjoon asked who he wanted to play with, Jungkook had shaken his head - his hair flopping with the action - and declared to his father, in a very proud voice, that he could do it himself. You’d wanted to believe him at first, but the shiftiness in his eyes had confused you. Until you’d started playing - and then, you’d found out that Namjoon was damn awful at the game. Of course, you’d offered to play with Jungkook yourself, with his wildly competitive streak, he’d also refused you - to Namjoon’s utter surprise.

You groan, for possibly the millionth time that afternoon, as your jeep sputters to a halt once more. You’ve had JeepJeep since you first got your license, a gift from your parents since they were getting a new car anyway. Held together with duct tape, prayers, and more than one swift kick to the bumper, the thing has gotten you through your entire school career and then into the big wide world of adulthood.
Now, as you sit in the nearly-empty lot of a mechanic, not even properly parked because your jeep died not two seconds after you pulled in, you feel like crying. Fixing this will cost everything you have. There is no doubt in your mind that this is going to be expensive. Probably expensive enough to wipe out what little you still have in your bank account after grocery shopping yesterday, if you aren’t forced to dip into the meager savings you have put back.
With a resigned sigh, you pop off a quick text to your best friend, heave yourself out of the jeep, and head through the open garage door. There’s a couple of cars up on lifts, parts strewn around them haphazardly, and faint music thrumming from somewhere, but you don’t see any actual people around.
“Hello?” You call hesitantly into the large room. There’s no response, which irritates you a little. First your jeep dies - possibly for the last time, not that you want to think about that right now, keep hoping, you remind yourself - and then you spend four hours getting ten miles to the closest mechanic so you didn’t have to pay for a tow only for there to be no one fucking here.

You weren’t going to get upset, or angry, knowing fully well that he wanted to be there as much as you wanted him to. In fact, you could just picture him sitting in the studio, even more upset than you were.
