What's your opinion about District 4 as Career District?
Why is there a difference between District 4 and other Career Districts (1&2) in supporting the rebellion?
From all known victors from 4, who do you think the first to support it?

I think that district 4 was a career district!
I haven’t done a re-read in a while but i think I always just assumed that the proximity (not geographical, I mean like the fact that they had close ties) of D1&2 to the Capitol probably has a lot to do with their lack of support in the rebellion.
like we know that D1&2 are viewed very favourably by the Capitol and get more food and resources from them etc so it makes sense that they'd be more loyal. however, i don't remember the same being the case for D4 (someone correct me if I'm wrong though). D4 has always felt more like D7, D10, D11 to me based on vibes alone.
In terms of supporting the rebellion, I feel like the first could have been Mags honestly. Or at least, I feel like she would have known about what was happening.
I can definitely see her being contacted by Plutarch and being asked about how likely the other D4 victors would have been to join. like,, mags was the first D4 victor and i assume she will have done a lot of the mentoring in the years to come. she would have been a great starting point for the rebellion. who else would have known/understood her districts victors personalities better than her? and also the fact that she's been around for so long would mean that she could also provide a lot of insight into victors from other districts and the workings of the games themselves etc
and yeah, i feel like mags might have needed a bit of convincing at first. we know that canonically she's half-raised finnick (and probably other D4 victors too, esp if they were careers) so i could see her initially being cautious about promises of rebellion and change. she's old enough to have been alive before the first games, (maybe not old enough to remember what life was like but she probably would have had some idea from like idk - her parents talking about it or something) and so i can see her being weary of the idea of putting the other victors in more danger on the hope of something better.
but we also know that mags is kind and selfless and caring and i think she also would have wanted her 'kids' to have a chance at living in a better world. so yeah! i think mags would have been the first D4 victor told about the rebellion and i think finnick would have come soon after.
i don't think ive read fics that specifically discuss this, but most of @finnicksannie (TheWalkingGrimes on ao3)'s thg fics are about D4 and it's victors so those fics are all a brilliant place to start! also i know @the-sun-and-the-sea also has lots of d4 centric fics on ao3!

oh em gee! katniss vent is a continuation of one of my katniss centric drabbles! it focuses on her mental health post MJ - specifically her survivors guilt and her attitudes towards food and looking after herself! i haven’t edited it for ages but it started off as a cathartic project for me to work through things 😭

nicky fic!!! this fic is about my dearly beloved nicolò di genova (for those of u who don’t know, he is from a movie adaptation of comics called The Old Guard)!! it’s just about him and all his catholic guilt and him thinking about immortality and i have been writing it for ages as a companion piece to the joe-centric fic i did but i haven’t finished it yet :’)

annie cresta i love u is literally just me writing snippets and blurbs and ideas i have about her! i’m v shy about sharing them because i’ve read so many good interpretation and theories about her character, but i want to try and turn it into something cohesive that might one day be shared!
mostly, everything in there is drabble length but i’ve been working on a longer piece which i want to be a oneshot! the premise is that annie has a rough time at the capitol after her games and her escort is a bitch but finnick is very lovely!

i feel like i mentioned this in the ficnick, but i headcannon that annie waits up for finnick in his house in the victor’s village on the days when he’s coming back from the capitol. sometimes she does things to keep herself occupied in the meantime like baking or reading or knitting, and sometimes finnick gets back so late that she falls asleep waiting. when this happens, he always carries her to bed, regardless of how tired he is. he’ll put whatever she’s baked on the cooling rack, or he’ll put a bookmark in her book to save the page, and then he’ll join her :’)
after her games, it takes annie years to feel comfortable with being in water again, but she misses the ocean often and finnick is always happy to go with her. they spend countless afternoons sitting on the shore shoulder to shoulder till she’s ready to go.
finnick likes to collect seashells for annie whenever they go. he knows annie likes them, but doesn’t feel comfortable enough with moving closer to the water which is where most of the shells wash up, so instead he brings them back to her. over time she builds quite a collection of seashells, seglass, and driftwood he’s brought back to her. sometimes she likes to braid the shells into her hair.
annie wears finnick’s clothes often when he’s away at the capitol – especially his sweatshirts and jumpers – because she likes the feeling of being wrapped up in something warm and loose that reminds her of home. when finnick realises, he starts leaving her a few before every trip. by the time he gets back, they don’t smell like him anymore, and annie has to resort to tucking herself under whatever he’s wearing.
the first time finnick hears someone in four making fun of annie, they’re in the market in d4’s main port. he and annie are making their way past stalls leisurely when he hears it. it’s an unmistakably cruel remark, and it’s probably only said because people don’t seem to think annie can hear them when they make these comments. one glance at the girl tells finnick that she definitely has. she pretends not to hear, but finnick notices her posture droop ever so slightly. the boy fixes the perpetrators with a glare ready to put them in their place, but before he can say anything, annie tugs on his hand. “can we go, finn? i just want to go.” finnick wants to tell her that if anything, the people who made the remark should leave, but annie’s gaze is pleading. generally, people don’t make many comments about annie when he’s around too, but he imagines that it must be bad when he’s not.
finnick always does his best to stifle any sound he might make when he wakes up from nightmares, unwilling to wake annie up too. somehow, she always seems to notice anyway -- they’re both quite light sleepers so it doesn’t take much to wake her up. annie almost always seems to know what finnick needs, but she always asks before initiating any type of physical contact. usually, he’s okay with it; practically falling into her arms, but when he isn’t annie limits herself to linking her pinky with his and taking deep and slow breaths until his breathing matches her own.
it’s so cool that you’re revamping your fics to fit your style because i get to reread my favorites and they’re like! new! keep doing what you’re doing love ♡

i haven’t thought much about who would tell katniss or how they would go about tellling her honestly but i like to think that she knows. i like to think that peeta or her mother told her, but i haven’t thought about how id write it in much depth!
i mention that she’s kinda catatonic/despondent in the hospital, so there’s also a question of whether or not she’s even registered what she’s being told. TLDR is that i’m not sure how she knows but it gives me peace of mind to think that someone’s told her and that it’s brought her at least a little bit of solace.
i’m writing a sequel from annie’s perspective, but id love to write one shots for that AU because i did a lot of world building / character development etc that didn’t get used in the end! i’ll definitely look at writing a katniss and finnick reunion!!!

hello! when i’m naming OC’s i think a lot about which district they’re from and if i want their name to have any significance to their arc! for Capitol names i usually go with something latin/greek sounding or i look at mythological characters and see what their story is!
and then you can find lists online and on tumblr that have possible name suggestions for characters from different districts. if the lists aren’t doing the job then you can always look at baby names lists! for eg if your OC is from d4 you can look up ocean-based names et. :)

hello love, i don't know whether this might help but i hope you'll find some peace reading it. I saw your recent post about your wellbeing and i worry. Whenever i feel like that, i like to think of the small joys in life. I know whenever one feels like this, it is hard to see the joys but please try. I like to make a small list of all the small things in life that i love and i would miss if i weren't here. The mundane things, the things one doesn't usually think about. Your list doesn't have to be long nor does it have to be perfect. For me, my list includes:
The heat from the sun.
Cold wind during summer.
The smell of warm food.
Listening to music.
Eating ice cream (specifically vanilla ice cream).
Trips to the beach.
Snow and dark mornings.
Writing.
The smell of flowers.
The sound of birds.
And the list continues.
All i am saying darling is that there is so much to life. Not only the "big" things but there is the small things. It's for the sun during summer, the orange leaves during autumn, the dark mornings during winter and the flowers during spring. It's for the hope of a better day and the joys of being alive. I am not saying that you have to be happy and joyful over the small things, but just please you matter. There is so much to life and i am so so sorry that you feel like this. My heart arches for you.
Please, reach out and stay. The world needs you. I hope you might find some peace reading this and i am not saying you aren't allowed to feel like this. Just remember there is so much to life and ending it is not worth it sweetness.
