Incomparable to BlackSun

As much as RT tries and tried to push Bumbleby in the present and in the future, Sun going to Menagerie with Blake is an arc that essentially nailed the coffin shut on any attempt with Bumbleby. This is because the Menagerie Arc was an arc that had extremely intimate implications between Sun and Blake.

Sun, as a Faunus, had the chance to get back to his roots. Reaffirming and rebuilding his identity as a Faunus after seasons of being a rootless rogue. Fighting the White Fang, fighting for the family who represents the Faunus, taking a bullet for the only other Faunus Sun truly interacted with. These events contributed to an Arc where Sun got to get down and dirty with the identity of 'Faunus', and the consequences of that identity.

Sun's journey is intricately bound alongside Blake's quest for identity as she grappled with her White Fang past and Huntress future. Sun fought alongside Blake when she fought the White Fang Assassins, took the bullet meant for her, and was essential in helping Blake resolve herself to confront the White Fang instead of run away like she had always done. Without one or the other, the Menagerie Arc could not happen.

Furthermore, Sun had a chance to see Blake at her most essential. Sun met Blake's parents, learned that she was the Chieftain's Daughter of Menagerie which Yang doesn't yet know, and dealt with Blake at her worst. When she was conflicted and angry and lashing out because of what Adam had done to her.

Therefore, the Menagerie Arc had tied Sun and Blake together in ways that RT could never replicate as the unique narrative moment had passed. Whatever Bumbleby does in the future can't really compete with the degree of intimacy developed between BlackSun in the past. Even if Bumbleby became canon, it would be a hollow shell compared to what BlackSun built.

Although Sun x Yang is not a bad ship though.

100% agree on blacksun. The writers had a good thing going for it. There was solid development. Sun clearly likes Blake and she gradually showed signs of returning those feelings in the course of five volumes. Their attempts to backtrack and push bees instead only reveal how bad the ship is.

Exactly. BlackSun was a watershed moment in writing. Once it happened, retconning the development is nearly impossible.

You can see how jarring the shift is from blacksun to bumblebee. Within one volume Sun is written out and never heard from again (aside from a bad book that doesn't do him justice) then the very same volume hastily pushes bumblebee to the forefront. From then on its cringy bee bait for several volumes and Blake doesn't so much spare a single thought for the guy who was with her thick and thin smh.

Sun did not so much drink the 'Respect Wahmen' juice as he was stuck with a drip and had the juice pumped directly into his veins. Sun got a lot of disrespect.

Can you imagine the awkward cringe when Blake and Sun reunite? Their last moment together was back when blacksun was going strong with the implication they would pick things up when they see each other again. Something dumb like Sun hooking up with Velvet offscreen and becoming a bmblb wingman. Or him being single and accepting Blake moved on from him no questions asked and even though he had every right to still have feelings for her that aren't so easily forgotten. It's going to be a shitshow.

I imagine RT would just make it a throwaway gag during the final fight. Like Blake would see Sun with Velvet and they would just say 'good luck', and head off to fight Salem.

I have a feeling that RWBY is building toward an Avengers Endgame style thing.

Feel like the main reason people ship this is because they think Weiss is the tsundere trope, and that it’s the tsundere x dork trope. Not my cup of tea at the moment, but this ship needs more love but less of that trope. Weiss doesn’t strike me as a tsundere. Just observe her crush with Neptune, she is not afraid to ask someone out, but she also wants her partner to come clean to her if there’s anything wrong.

It’s a relationship where Sun reached out to Mercury kind of like Blake and though Mercury hated him at first but they became close, Mercury was like on of the guys then bam, they’re a couple, Sun is the one who falls first and not like a slight interest at first that grows like with Blake, I mean FAST AND HARD, like he sometimes gets stuttery around her, but when they do it’s kind of like being in love with a close best friend cause she would be okay with talking about the hottest chick with him

The second is Jaune x Female Mercury

I just like the idea of a the cute nice guy with bold tough bad girl though Mercury may seem like the flirt of the relationship in actuality Jaune came be quite brave and bold at times and she is the one flustered for the most part, they start with Jaune coincidentally helping her through some thing like something with her past or just being there to talk one night and after that they grew closer and closer until they fall in love then become a couple

I just thought of Adam x mercury

maybe mercury can get rid of Adam hate for human and have fun I feel they would be a chaotic couple who both would do things out of spite as well but mercury would do it for the fun of it and use spite or revenge as an excuse. The best way I can describe them is similar to Nora and Ren’s relationship but a bad troublemakers version
