The Cruelest Lies are Often Told in Silence on Flickr.
The title of this work is a quote from a Robert Louis Stevenson essay on love and friendship. It's also written on the base of the statue in this image. It's more easily read in the screen prints which are around 18" x 24". The image is taken from a scene in which the main character is wandering the setting of the memory palace when she exists in her state between living and dying. These prints were done for a recent gallery show as a way to tie ideas from my narrative together since I couldn't put an entire graphic novel on the walls of a gallery and have it make any visual sense.

The Angel of Forgetfulness on Flickr.
This is the angel from the story. The image took quite a bit of planning as there is a tessellation of the angel and starling in the background. A favorite of mine out of all the images I made. These prints were done for a recent gallery show as a way to tie ideas from my narrative together since I couldn't put an entire graphic novel on the walls of a gallery and have it make any visual sense.

Satan Hides in Paradise on Flickr.
The main villain in my story. The killer my cop pursues throughout the work. The title of the piece is meant to hint at an older Gustave Dore work illustrating a section from Paradise Lost- which is referenced during the course of the investigation. These prints were done for a recent gallery show as a way to tie ideas from my narrative together since I couldn't put an entire graphic novel on the walls of a gallery and have it make any visual sense.

Schopenhauer's (Lucretius) Starling on Flickr.
This image was meant to represent the abstract concept of Lucretius's balancing argument from "On the Nature of Things" which has a presence in my narrative. The starling is a psychopomp in the story- foreshadowing the arrival of the angel later on. These prints were done for a recent gallery show as a way to tie ideas from my narrative together since I couldn't put an entire graphic novel on the walls of a gallery and have it make any visual sense.

Pride on Flickr.
My main character, Cleo. The colors behind are drawn from the gay pride flag. The images on the backs of the footlights at her feet allude to significant moments or characters throughout the story. They are as follows: Mary Magdalene, Cleo's daughter, Cleo's lover, the killer, the starling and key, and the angel. These prints were done for a recent gallery show as a way to tie ideas from my narrative together since I couldn't put an entire graphic novel on the walls of a gallery and have it make any visual sense.
