Screenprinting - Tumblr Posts

Prints currently in progress. These are the color renderings for some hand-drawn limited edition screenprints/serigraphs I'm doing at the moment. Rather than using photographic emulsion, my studio partner and I have been experimenting with a tusche-and-glue method. I teach drawing for a living and her background is in lithography, so the direct mark making is a real appeal. These prints are going to be reduction prints, so the whole color process is done entirely on a single screen. The top one is Poludnica, the Noon-Day Witch. I did a sketch a couple years ago and thought it would make a nice print. The third one down is print versions of my nesting dolls. The bottom, obviously, is Weirdo.

Screen printed what is hopefully my last round of tests. #screenprinting #studiotime

Working on a set of prints and a miniature print for Halloween.

It’s pretty rainy today, which means screen printing while listening to Tom Waits.

Ideas for a 2 color screen printing 🔵🩷

Random stuff from the past year.

"The Owl Trainer" I've always wanted to try screenprinting, and so far I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with it. I'd say the toughest thing to learn would be registering the image properly.

For a project, I had to make a series of screen prints that used the same set of designs in various ways. So I decided to print my very expressive dog Charlie.

This print of Charlie was very fun to work with. I’m not sure if I’ll be posting the rest of the series back to back since there are so many variations of them. So for now I’m only posting my favorites.

"Rainy Days" I thought this design turned out pretty nicely as a print. The grey ink actually has a silver shimmer!
"Float" October is here and I'm very excited to share this spooky print I've made a while ago. I printed this with silver ink so if the image is tilted slightly it reveals a ghostly form rising with its buried remains.
