The sculpture phase of Weirdo is almost finished. I’m just finishing the base. After that, it’s onto the molds.

From something old, we make something new.
Working on block prints. Some of my walking trees. The idea is to have a large variety that I can rearrange and play with. Intended for paper and also fabrics.

After altering the design just a bit to make the tiling sections fit together better, I got carving and made my first test proof. Adjustments are still needed, but that’s printmaking.
“Just gonna do a quick sketch in watercolor. Nothing serious, just something to test some stuff out.” Two and a half hours later, I finish the pencil sketch.
Demo piece in clay for my 3d students. It’s going to be turned into a real work. I’m thinking I’ll make a mold of it and cast multiples.
Been a while since I’ve given an update on this piece. It’s still in progress. Self portrait, recycled from an older piece associated with some tough memories.
Some tiny paintings in progress for Art Brownie at Gallery50 in Toronto. I’m excited to do a miniature art show. The theme is Summertime, and I’m making bugs.

Some highlight demos from my designer toy and doll-making night class. I feel that it was a pretty good thing overall, and I think I want to teach it again.
I finished the sculpting portion of this project. Intent is to get it molded by the end of the week. It’s taken quite a while. I’ll have a write-up about some of my thoughts concerning this project when I finish it.
