RUN DOKYEOM RUN ⚔️

blanket fort | seokmin

haven't published anything in 5ever so here's a lil drabble. seokmin is so cute and silly and i would love to build a fort with him <3 also idk but i don't think there's any warnings.

"you didn't think this through, at all, even a little bit."

"sure didn't."

"have you ever built a blanket fort before?" you ask with an amused shake of your head.

"not even one time," seokmin admits, and you both giggle.

"really? tragic." you kiss his fingers intertwined with yours as you look at the mess on the living room floor in front of the TV. there was almost nothing that identified it as even an attempt at a fort -- just a clump of sheets, fluffy blankets, and the occasional pillow or two. "why didn't you ask for help?"

"because," he sasses, "i was trying to surprise you." he pulls out his phone and shows you a photo of an incredible blanket fort on pinterest. "this was my goal. and this is the reality." he can't help but laugh at himself.

the fort in the picture is beautiful, strung with fairy lights and made of cute floral blankets. it doesn't resemble the knotted lump in the center of the room at all, but you're still touched that he tried. "well, i have amazing news," you tell him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders. "i'm the best blanket fort-builder in the universe."

"well, that's quite the claim," he says, wrapping his own arms around your waist and pecking you on the lips. "wanna back it up?"

and so, in the fading, golden afternoon light, you help the most beautiful boy in the world build a blanket fort. the pile of blankets transforms into a tent-like structure around the TV. seokmin helps you drag the mattress into the fort, and the two of you snuggle together while you watch your favorite show, his hands dragging soft lines across the back of your arms. somehow, these tiny moments are the things that give your life the most meaning -- laying here with seokmin on a windy fall evening, feeling loved and protected in his arms.

"you were right," he mumbles sleepily, interrupting your gentle thoughts.

"about what?"

"you are the best fort-builder in the universe."

What is more fun than having your own roleplay at home with your boyfriend?

"Like cypress tree branches, no matter how much you try to bend me I will always come up," you say in a serious tone, standing on the velvety couch of your apartment. Your favorite song was playing and it was hard not to sway your hips to the beat.

Seokmin stares at you before breaking into fits of laughter.

"Seriously, Y/n, I can't look at you without laughing when you're serious like that," he manages his sentence in between his laughter.

You glare at him but couldn't help the small smile that had already made it's way towards your lips.

"I'm trying my best," you jump down, almost falling if Seokmin wasn't right in front of you to prevent you from doing so.

"Hey, be careful," he whispers in your ear, one hand steadying you while the other caressed your swollen belly, "You have an additional life to protect"

You look up at him, silently appreciating him at the moment for being such a caring boyfriend.

"I think you should have a seat. You've been standing for too long," he guides you back to the couch and sits beside you.

"See, Y/n, you have to take care of yourself a lot more. I think I should take a few days off until you give birth," he says, placing his arm around your shoulder before kissing the crown of your head.

"Okay, okay. I get it. Sometimes I just don't think through things"

"It's okay, Y/n. From now on, be careful"

Seokmin smiles and it makes your heart flutter. His simple gesture was enough to make your stomach fill with butterflies despite the fact that you have child in there.

"Once you give birth and our child grows up enough, we're getting married," Seokmin says and you press your lips on his cheek.

"Of course. I can't wait to experience our future together," you grin as you feel the baby kick, "And so does our child".

{Seokmin attempts to introduce you to his friends}

 Here you are outside the restaurant about to book it to the nearest bus stop. At first, when Seokmin said he’d introduce you to his friends you thought it would be a great opportunity to get to know him better but at the moment you were a bundle of nerves.

  You guys had started dating about a month ago after he asked for your number in a philosophy lecture. He was handsome and he had kind eyes and a blinding smile, of course, you texted him as soon as possible. 

  Now here you are outside a barbeque restaurant after saying you were “going to the bathroom”. You were so anxious you couldn’t stay in that place a second longer, you made a skillful escape while everyone was talking. I mean how couldn’t you be anxious, they were his friends for years, you’ve only just met him. Part of the nervousness was set in the fact that they weren’t all male, there were a few female colleagues who you thought were absolutely stunning. You saw how happy he was, it made you smile. Suddenly he caught your gaze, very confused he said something and came outside.

“Fancy seeing you here ma’am, this isn’t the ladies room if I recall.”

“I’m sorry, I’m really nervous, I know it’s really stupid but I just wanna go home. I’m sorry Seok...”

“Why? Did someone say something? I swear if Jeong-”

“No one did anything Seok, I just- this is all very new. And I mean your friends are so pretty and I’m not jealous, I think? I felt out of place...”

“Ok and just so you know you were the prettiest babe” he said as he calmly took out his phone, it made you blush.

He grabbed your hand and you guys walked to the nearest rest stop which was only a block away.

“I texted Jeonghyun that were leaving because you felt sick” he said as the last bus of the night stopped before you two. 

He tugged your hand as you two sat down, the only ones on the bus beside you guys were the bus driver and a few middle schoolers who were probably on their way home from cram school.

He put his hand over your shoulder. “I met you on a bus...” he spoke quietly.

“No, you didn’t. We met at that one lecture.”

“You met me there. But I clearly remember you a few days before that, you were sat on the bus and smiled like an idiot as you put your headphones in. At that moment I thought that I wanted to make you smile like that everyda-”

“Pphffffff” you slowly slapped his face as he finished making him chuckle and you smiled.

“It’s true! See that smile? That’s the one! The one I love to see when I wake up and kiss you awake.”

“You idiot..” you laughed as you rested your head on his shoulder as you dozed off. Your hands intertwining and lights quickly passing by.

Imagine friend!Seokmin being left behind by your friend group in a mall while traveling to the US. You guys weren’t that close but you sometimes talked about stupid things like card games and stuff. You see a Halloween display and drag him to go look with you. He’s so taken by the way you smile and how you’re eyes light up when you look at all the scary decorations and fawn over all the cute decor. Yeah, he wants to get to know you better.
