Sherlock Holmes had, in a very remarkable degree, the power of detaching his mind at will. truly, see how they have massacred my boy in almost every single Holmes adaptation. This man is not an asshole, he’s a giddy nerd who loves everything in the world so much that he can’t stop hopping from hyperfixation to hyperfixation with a speed and passion inconceivable to even his ND best friend.
