she watches him carefully as he spreads the baby oil on his body, losing herself in her own thoughts not realizing that she was staring at seth just a little too long. once she realized that he had seen her, she felt embarrassed. she shly smiled at him, taking his hand and what was left of the baby oil. ❝ thank you. ❞ those were the only words she had been able to say out loud without letting him know the way she thought about him. because nikki bella did. she thought about seth rollins way more than she cared to admit.

she didn't expect this. she didn't want this. it wasn't supposed to be this way. things should have never happened between nikki and seth. but they had. he had become one of her best friends and a best friend that had turned into something much more than that. something more than nikki bella had ever imagined him to be. ❝ shouldn't i? am i supposed to make this easy for you? is it that easy for you to just walk away from me? from us? ❞ he couldn't even look at her. he couldn't stare her in her eyes while he spoke. she was sure he didn't want this as much as she didn't. her heart was breaking before her very eyes and there wasn't anything that nikki could do about it. except try to convince seth to stay.

she realized that she didn't make herself clear and that was probably because she was too distracted by seth to answer him. she laughed loud enough for him to hear. ❝ yes. i meant, yes. sorry. ❞ how embarrassing that was. seth probably caught on and realized that nikki was probably into him a little bit more than just friends, not that she would ever admit that to him. but she always felt the chemistry, always felt that there was a connection between the two of them. ❝ are you doing anything after the show? ❞ and there was nothing like making the first move, especially if she wanted to see if there were any feelings there.
nikki seems a lot more serious where he feels playful. both eyebrows up, his lips in a smirk. “ thank you, no⸺ or thank you, yes ? “ seth lets his hand sink but doesn’t knock the offer off right away. perhaps he shouldn’t push for it, shouldn’t try to get it on with a co-worker, but nikki is a catch and if an offer to oil her up turns into them catching something to eat after the show ? he wouldn’t hate that.
