“Harry I don’t want to talk. Just leave me alone.” y/n said tiredly walking through the halls to the dining hall. Already knowing what Harry wants to talk about, again.
“y/n, just listen-” Harry pleaded or at least tried, following her down the hallway.
Y/n turned around and almost bumped into the Gryffindor “No. Harry I don’t want to hear ‘how good he really is’ or ‘he’s innocent’. I know he is, ok? My mom never hid him from me. She told me all about him. I never believed he ever did it, it was wrong place wrong time.”
Harry didn’t know what to say. But if you don’t think he’s guilty why won’t you come meet him? “Then why weren’t you just agree to meet with him?” he asked
If his parents didn’t die and Sirius wasn’t accused then him and y/n probably would have been like siblings and would be considered cousins.
She sighed before explaining “because believe it or not I just don’t want to. I’m content with my life. Plus Harry you know what house I’m in. Not many people are kind about it or understanding.”
“He’s your father. He won’t care about what house your in.” Harry insisted. He knows how badly Sirius just wants to see his daughter, he wouldn’t care that she’s Slytherin. He thinks.
“Really? Cause the rest of his family was and he hated them. No, not hated, despised. . . Look I feel better off not having to worry about it, so please stop asking.” y/n stressed at the end. Deep down she was worried about what if they met and her being Slytherin did make a difference?
“y/n-” Harry tried one last time
“No, please just stop.” she begged him in a broken voice before heading into the dining hall to sit by her friends, which included Draco.
Harry sighed as he sat down next to Ron and Hermione. Watching Y/n from his table thinking of a way to get her and Sirius to meet.

“y/n, you here?” Hermione asked walking up the stairs into one of the abandoned towers of Hogwarts. Being a good friend of yours knew where to find you.
Yes, shocking everyone the Slytherin and the Gryffindor have been great friends since the two got supplies in Diagon Alley before starting their first year at school. They had made a pac that no matter what house they got in they would still be friends. An they kept that pac. It disgusted most of both houses that the two were close, but that didn’t bother them. Their friendship was strong enough that they didn’t care about what people said.
“yeah. Hermione you know I always study here.” y/n answered smiling at her friend from where she’s sitting on the window seat.
“Please don’t hate me.” Hermione said before another person started to come into the tower from the stairway
“Why would I-” y/n started to question but stopped when she saw who stood behind Hermione
Hermione walked over to me. ‘Good luck’ she whispered in y/n’s ear before she left the tower, leaving y/n and her father alone.
“Why are you here?” y/n asked, nervously playing with her fingers looking to the floor.
“I came to talk.” Sirius stated entering further into the small space
“I already told Harry, I don’t want to talk.”
He sighed, how is he suppose to feel when his own daughter doesn’t want to talk to him let alone see him. “I know, but I do.”
“Well it’s not a one way thing.” the young Slytherin stated defensively
Sirius took a deep breath. He has so much to catch up on and so much he wants to say, but where to start thats the real question.”Why? Why don’t you want to talk to me? Do you think I’m guilty of the crimes against me?”
y/n looked up at him taking a deep breath “ I said I don’t want to talk.” she stood her ground so to speak.
“Why don’t you want to talk? . . .Please.” Sirius begged. Looking into his eye’s y/n could see he was really desperate to talk and get answers.
She sighed looking off to the side before speaking “I don’t think your guilty. Never did.”
“Why didn’t you? You were only a baby when I was around, you wouldn’t remember me.” Sirius asked gently, hoping that she’ll keep talking.
“Mom. She talked about you a lot. She didn’t want me to grow up hearing the thing you were accused of and think of my father as a-” Y/n looked upset or sad at least that’s what it looked like to Sirius
“Murderer?” he cut in nodding in understanding
“Yeah. As for not wanting to talk. I don’t have a really good answer to that .” y/n lightly laughed but it was an awkward laugh, insecure about her reasons for not wanting to talk.
“I think I have a couple ideas why” Sirius voiced leaning against the wall across from his little girl. Well not so little anymore.
“Wanna share?” she asked inturgied to know what he thought the reasons are
“I haven’t been there for you. You didn’t grow up with me around or in your life. I haven’t been there for big milestones. I’m basically a stranger to you.” Sirius gave a tight-lipped sad smile. It hurt Sirius to admit that out loud and to hear.
“Good ideas you have there.” she nodded pulling her knees up and resting her chin on them, wrapping her arms around them.
“You look a lot like your mother” he smiled fondly at how she has grown up
“She always said I have your eyes. And I have your eyes. And I have your mischievous part to.” y/n tilted her head shooting a small smile up at him.
“If she thinks that your like me in that way she’s most definitely right. She knew that part of me just as well as James, and Remus when we were at Hogwarts.” Sirius smiled back. She is growing comfortable around him, the thought of being able to get her comfortable around him made him smile even bigger.
“She told me a lot of stories about when you two were at school. And some stories about what you and your friends did here.” she smirked thinking about some of the things her mother told her about him and his friends.
“There’s a lot of those” he smirked back
He scratched his neck before saying “An I think I have another idea of why you didn’t want to talk or meet me.”
“Whats that?” y/n felt her nerves come back
“Its about what house your in.” after saying that y/n ducked her head. It was a sign that he was right, it helped that Harry told him but still it hurt seeing she thought he wouldn’t like his own daughter just cause she’s in a house he has bad history with. “Hey, I get why. I do, but I’m your father. I don’t care what house you got in. I’m proud of you no matter what.” Sirius walked over to her sitting down next to her, placing a hand around her shoulder.
“But your whole history with Slytherins and your family.” she hiccuped from all the emotions bubbling up inside her.
“You and your mother plus my friends are my family. Not my mom, father, brother, none of them. Family cares about eachother no matter what. You don’t have anything to worry about.” Sirius pulled her into him, rocking her in his arms.
“So your ok with me being in Slytherin?” y/n asked nervously
“Of course honey.” he said kissing the top of her head
“So what happens now?” y/n asked after a couple of minutes of just enjoying being in her father's arms for the first time since she was only a baby.
“Well, your mother and I have been talking. I’m gonna be moving in. An I would like to get to know my baby. Are you ok with that?” Sirius asked her not wanting to do anything that she wouldn’t be ok with. Y/n pulled back enough to look at him face to face.
“Yeah, I think I’m ok with that.” she smiled nodding

“I thought you didn’t want me going to Hogwarts because of my Lastname, uncle Remus?” Y/n spoke looking out the train window sitting across from her uncle.
“I don’t but I’m going to be teaching there and we are going to give you my Lastname at the school. So on ones to know.” Remus told his young niece
Y/n laughed before looking to her uncle with an amused face hiding her excitement “So I’m gonna be a Lupin? And I’m gonna get to actually make friends?”
“Yes you are” he smiled at Y/n
“Why haven’t you giving me your Lastname before Uncle Remus?” she asked turning her gaze downward
Remus sighed “Because Love, as much as I don’t like what your father did. He was good to you when he was around and loved you more than anything so I thought you should keep something of him. Hunny even after your mother passed away he did everything he could for you while he was still around.”
“He cared about me?” Y/n questioned fiddling with her fingers, stealing a glance up at him.
“A lot Love, a lot.” he gave her a tight-lipped smile along with his answer
“Uncle Remus?” she asked again
“Yes, Love?”
“Thank you” Y/n thanked, staring straight at him
“For what?” Remus questioned not knowing why Y/n was thanking him
Y/n bit her lip looking down once again “for taking me in after everything that happened. You didn’t have to, but you did. So thank you.”
“I wouldn’t have let you go to anyone else hun. I love you as if you were my own.” Remus gave her another serious look
Y/n smiled at him gratefully. Before she thought of something to lighten the mood. “You know on a different note I think you and Tonks should get married and have a baby. You need to pop the question, Uncle Rem.”
She started at him for a bit but she read him “oh come on. You both are in love with each other you should propose.”
He smiled “you like Tonks?”
Y/n smiled “yeah, she’s cool.”
Remus was glad to see how excited Y/n is to be finally going to Hogwarts. Having already met the professors through him before. HE knows how much she’s wanted to make friends but Remus couldn’t help but worry. What would happen to his beloved niece if Sirius comes to Hogwarts?
