Skyrim Headcanon - Tumblr Posts
My favorite Kaidan headcanon is that he despises large crowds.
They make his skin itch and his throat parched.
It's not that he's shy about conversing with others—he can hold his own in conversation.
Rather, it's the sheer mass of people packed together like frightened rabbits that unnerves him.
He finds it impossible to maintain awareness amidst the throngs.
He can't discern if there's a thief lurking among them or if someone is wielding a pocket knife.
That's why he tries his best to avoid them, opting to walk around rather than through them.
Do you still do X Reader requests? If so, could I please get headcanons of Miraak, Serana, and Ulfric Stormcloak (separate) having feelings for the Dragonborn, only to realize the DB already has a significant other?
yup! I still do x reader stuff and I’m now open for fallout 4 characters now to! :D I’m using tumblr on mobile browser so sorry if the formats off but thank you for the request!
Miraak
honestly accepting he had feelings for the Dragonborn was hard enough and then finding out they have a s/o? He is going through it. He’s mainly filled with anger in some sense mixed with jealousy. He’s constantly going back and forth in his mind from being mad at himself for even having these feelings to being mad at their s/o, in his eyes they will never be good enough for the Dragon born. Miraak is definitely not one to tell the Dragon born EVER though. He tries to contain his emotions so it’s not obvious but if you look hard enough it’s pretty easy to tell. He’s praying for the downfall of the relationship, but also he’s like “as long as their happy I guess but don’t settle for less.” He’s the biggest hater out there.
Serana
Serana also had a hard time accepting her feelings but for much different reasons, she didn’t want to be vulnerable in that way. She had planned on telling the dragon born but she kept on pushing it off mentally going back and forth on wether she should tell them or not. After finding out they had a s/o Serana was sad but relieved she found out before she told them. She was happy they had someone but it was still a lot to deal with. Serana will tell them eventually, but she isn’t asking them out, she just wants to communicate how she feels about them, which is still really hard but she’s less stressed than before. She has an open and honest talk and hopes the feelings go away, she does isolate herself for a bit, just so she can be alone with herself and her thoughts.
Ulfric
honestly I don’t know much abt ulfric but I think he’d just like accept it. He’d be upset for sure but idk I think his confidence would like prevent him from being…distraught? He’s just a little sad by it and like gives himself a pep talk like “you are strong and could have anyone you want. Do not stress.” Idk I don’t know ulfric well bc I don’t rlly talk w him in game so that’s just what I imagined.
a tharya addition (partially for @kiir-do-faal-rahhe hehe) ((cw: alcoholism, and ED))
tharya's body has changed a bit over the years (both irl years, and years in-fic) on par w miraak, i think, who was essentially locked in bodily stasis in apocrypha. she's a very average normal weight and body type, but the war and alcoholism changed her. she basically starved almost to death during the civil war, lost a TON of body fat and weight, and it was hard to regain - esp when she was traveling a ton, not settled, eating only what she had and never carrying surplus. for that reason the civil war has changed her body and how it stores fat; her weight fluctuates quite easily (which worries miraak) but six years after the war she IS healthy. she's healthy and gained good weight and is eating well :^) but still the mental and physical repercussions of starving in fort snowhawk and almost freezing to death i think will stick with her forever, and it changed her physically.
it helps because miraak eats a lot (which he is very self conscious of, except around her), so she had to feed herself and also him well enough as opposed to living off the bare minimum. i like to think her legs and stomach (she has more lower body strength than upper) are a lot more healthy looking and full and strong now that she's safe from the war and largely sworn off drinking, and she's getting some more weight in her Boobs which, as CEO of the itbc, makes her a little happy🥳.
wip wednesday but not
when i first started writing miraak i kinda gave him a thicc gym boy build. hefty but with abs and all.
now that i've seen the light (and he's been out of apocrypha for 5 yrs, his body has finally changed for the first time in 5000 yrs) i've been giving him a powerlifter build with thick arms/shoulders and TITS and a strong but softer torso. somehow it just genuinely fits him so much better (though it's not like anyone could tell in my writing how different it is) in this way he still occupies a large amount of space and is very physically intimidating, but when he's relaxed he's comfy to hold or snuggle, and when he holds people they get the bonus of his strength and relaxed softness. and i think tharya who really enjoys hugging/holding his waist (which is NOT tiny, this man is a rectangle) bc his shoulders are usually too high would enjoy the little ability to squeeze :3
(his butt is still big and perfect. it will never change, nor will his thighs, which are also big and perfect and strong and)
I personally use the first one based on how other Dovahzuul words are pronounced but got curious since I've heard the second a lot too.
Is the elder scrolls equivalent of saying “it’s not rocket science,” “it’s not tonal magic”?
Inigo the 7th time in a row that Ravenna gets the party lost: Ravenna, you may be the head of the group but I do not think you are the brains.
Vampires Don’t Shiver
An in-depth headcanon about Skyrim Vampirism explained through a clip of dialogue I wrote between Ravenna and Kaidan while they waited for Inigo outside Langley’s hut. While egg gathering outside Langley's house, Ravenna and Kaidan were attacked by a wandering vampire, and Ravenna, afterwards, expresses great confusion about what the vampire was even doing so far up on a frigid mountain like that. Kaidan, who has spent his life believing vampires to be immune to the effects of cold weather, asks her to elaborate. Ravenna explains that vampires are, indeed, resistant to the cold, but not immune to it. "There's an important difference between our bodies and yours," she doesn't really notice the slip-up, but frankly neither does Kaidan, and if he does he assumes it's a hypothetical thing, "a human's body warms up when it moves, so you can stave off cold by moving or shivering. Vampires’ bodies don't warm up at all, and they don't shiver. In fact, vampires don't actually feel the cold, only the effect it has on them after prolonged exposure. Their blood will freeze inside their veins and they won't really notice until their muscles start getting frozen as well. Even then, usually the only indicator is that their joints and muscles become stiff and difficult to move because they need to thaw out. A vampire could feasibly become frozen up on a mountain like this and be stuck in limbo forever if no one found them and thawed them. A place like this is dangerous for a lone vampire to be hunting. The only thing that might motivate one to stay in an area like this is a highly populated location nearby that could provide them with a long-term source of blood. It would still be safer for them to settle in a den or something with other vampires though, rather than roughing it by themselves - and maybe that one wasn’t, so we should be watchful on the way back." Kaidan respects her knowledge. They find the last egg and she almost falls out of a tree getting it.
Mages in Elder Scrolls who favor or overuse specific schools of magic often carry it’s marks. Fire mages’ hands are often covered in burn scars. A frost wizard’s magical skill will cost them their fingers, especially with overuse. Mages who favor lightning are often covered in Lichtenberg scars and smell faintly of ozone
