I've never seen a fandom destroy and sabotage its own media so hatefully before, it just makes you sad at this point, I'm really gonna miss these characters and this story and what could've been

No one is going to silence me

No, Star Wars The Acolyte wasn’t perfect, and it’s not the best of Star Wars. In fact, nothing in this franchise has been perfect, not even The Mandalorian (I’ve just thrown three scorpions at myself, but oh well).

The Acolyte was like breathing fresh air after YEARS of repetitive content focused on: The Empire, Skywalker family, Rebellion, and that’s it.

The Acolyte was a series that reignited a spark and charm in people who had distanced themselves a bit—or a lot—from SW due to the toxicity or simply because they no longer connected with the new content.

The Acolyte made MANY women interested in Star Wars thanks to the fact that it was made and written by a woman who KNOWS what we really like, and that’s why it delivered a tremendous Female Gaze.

The Acolyte DOES deserve or deserved a second season. But as always, they’ve shown what their priorities are: to continually cater to the toxic crowd and the 40+ men who want to keep living in nostalgia and are stuck in The Empire Strikes Back."

J-3: The Acolytes Refuge

J-3: The Acolytes Refuge

Okay so after a few days of thinking, there we go.

Got a soft spot for Osha/Jecki? Can't get enough of Yord/Osha? Or perhaps you're part of the Sol Patrol (and you're feeling absolutely devastated by this freaking finale)?

This could be your new terrain, where your ships can sail without hitting the iceberg of negativity.

Sorry to be that girl but here are rules before I send invites (request via dm) to make sure we're all in the same library, in the same book and on the same page:

Angst and NSFW: Look, we get it, angst and NSFW content are part of the package yadi yada. But let's be clear: there's a time and place for everything. Keep it tasteful, keep it respectful, and for the love of the Force and everything that is holy, keep it in the right channels. Violate this, and you'll find yourself in the trash compactor faster than you can say "Death Star". Not everyone likes to be reminded their beloved comfort character/ship died horrendously 24/7 or see mentions of gorey stuff everywhere, main included.

Respect: Abuse, harassment, and general nastiness will not be tolerated. This is a sanctuary, not a Sarlacc pit. If you think you can bring your bad attitude here, you'll be booted out faster than Jar Jar Binks from a Senate meeting.

All Are Welcome: Whether you're a veteran of the Star Wars universe or just stepped off the starship, you're welcome here. But remember, leave your drama at the door. This is a place for harmony, not the Sith Council.

Ship and Let Ship: Not a fan of someone's ship? Move along. There's no need to start a galactic war over preferences. We respect all ships here, as long as they're not sailing into the realm of toxicity. We'll have channels for the ships and more, so no need to throw a shipping tantrum, don't worry I got you.

Why Join The Acolytes' Refuge?

For Osha/Jecki Shippers: Finally, a place where your ship is celebrated, not sunk.

For Yord/Osha Shippers: Your OTP gets the love it deserves without the eye-rolls.

For the Sol Patrol: Unite with your fellow patrol members and geek out over your favorite Jedi Dad and give him the love he didn't get in the damn finale.

For Everyone Else: Don't see your ship here? No worries, we welcome all who come in peace and with a good sense of humor.

What We're Not:

A Drama Dumping Ground: Leave your beef at the door or cook it somewhere else.

A Free-for-All: We have rules, and they're enforced. Break them, and you’ll be out faster than the Millennium Falcon in hyperspace.

Oshimir Central: There are plenty of places for Oshimir shippers. This isn't one of them, so don’t expect that here. Sorry, but this would be a bit too awkward to see Oshimir peeps in an Oshecki, Sol Patrol & Yorsha shipping server considering how things ended in the series.😅🤣

WE'RE LIVE PEOPLE (in Advance)!!!

[Not me speed-running at the speed of light to have this out LMAO XDDDDD]

Gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised by the huge response to this, and I'm sorry some of you had such awful experiences (from both Yorsha previous server and just on tumblr in general)😭💛💛💛

Reminder: This is NOT an Osha/Qimir aka Oshamir/Oshimir server. This is NOT the place for this ship, I'm sorry but there are already places for the ship and this server is to give Sol Patrol, Oshecki and Yorsha some sort of safe place for their ships and characters.

If you're interested in joining, I'll be sending you invite via dm, you just have to reach out!🤍

I'm catching up with the peeps who reached out and sending the invites rn!!

Apparently Disney is removing the Acolyte merch from their stores like they did with Willow.

I swear to god Disney if you remove the Acolyte from Disney + I will fucking lose my shit.

I am so sick of these streaming services just deleting shows and movies off their platforms for tax write offs.

The fact that physical media is virtually nonexistent now means that these shows that people love (be it fans or creators) just disappear into the void, never to be seen again.

Edit: Apparently this may or may not be true? A bunch of news sights are saying that the merch has been removed from Disney stores but others are saying that disneys website just sucks and the stuff is sold out? Kinda unclear atm

Osha's Agency in The Acolyte

One of the most baffling (good faith) criticisms of The Acolyte is that Osha doesn't have agency in the story; that she only ever takes one real decision in the Finale to commit murder.

And honestly, I don't buy it. Osha took plenty of active decisions that revealed her character and motivations, and which pushed the plot forward.

Here's a quick list (spoilers):

Osha's Agency In The Acolyte

Episode 1: Lost/Found

Osha chooses to save the life of the criminal before going into the escape pod (it's a "save the cat" moment to establish she's a kind person). This directly results in her being stranded on the ice planet, and in her prolonged unconsciousness communing with Mae through the Force for the first time.

Episode 2: Revenge/Justice

Osha decides to disobey Sol's instructions to stay out of sight, and instead reveals herself to Mae. This revelation causes Mae to betray The Stranger in Episode 4.

Also, Osha decides to shoot Mae, indicating that part of her motivation is her inability to forgive when she's been wronged. This character trait has direct consequences in Episodes 5 (affecting Mae) and 8 (affecting Sol).

Episode 3: Destiny

Child Osha opts to reveal herself to the Jedi at the ceremony rather than remain hidden. This revelation enflames tensions as the witches are caught in a lie.

She also chooses to disobey both Mae and Mother Aniseya and take the Force test honestly.

She finally chooses to leave her community and go with the Jedi (before the fire).

Episode 5: Night

Osha convinces Yord to return to the battle against The Stranger, and even devises a way to defeat The Stranger by using Pip's bright lights to attract the umbramoths.

This choice leads to Yord's death, but it also ends the battle against The Stranger.

Osha again refuses to forgive Mae and tries to arrest her. This leads to Osha's defeat, and forces Mae to change her immediate plans and impersonate Osha.

Episode 6: Teach/Corrupt

Osha chooses to wear the cortosis helmet and experience sensory deprivation like Qimir does. This leads to her having a premonition of Sol dying on Brendok at Mae's hand, which spurs her and Qimir to leave together.

Episode 8: The Acolyte

After finally learning the truth that Sol lied to her for years and was responsible for Mother Aniseya's death, Osha chooses to commit murder.
