'Haumea' 2018🌌 🌠🌃 // This is #abstract #painting on high quality linen and custom made #canvas. I'm currently creating a new series of paintings about #solarsystem. I'm inspired by structure of celestial bodies. This one was inspired by surface of #Haumea. It was discovered in 2004 by a team headed by Mike Brown of Caltech at the Palomar Observatory in the United States. 'Harpalyke' 2018🌌 🌠🌃 // This is #abstract #painting on #canvas. I'm currently creating a new series of paintings about #solarsystem.  I'm inspired by the structure of Jupiter's Moons. This one was inspired by surface of #Harpalyke. It was discovered by a team of astronomers from the University of Hawaii led by Scott S. Sheppard in 2000. The moon was named after Harpalyke, daughter of Clymenus, who in some accounts was also a lover of Zeus (Jupiter). I'm inspired by structure of celestial bodies. This one was inspired by surface of #Thebe. It was discovered by Stephen P. Synnott in images from the Voyager 1 space probe taken on March 5, 1979, while making its flyby of Jupiter. In 1983, it was officially named after the mythological nymph Thebe who was a lover of Zeus—the Greek equivalent of Jupiter. The second largest of the inner satellites of Jupiter, Thebe orbits within the outer edge of the Thebe gossamer ring that is formed from dust ejected from its surface.
