Haumea is a dwarf planet that resides in the Kuiper belt, where Pluto also resides.
It is one of the fastest rotating large objects in our solar system. The fast spin distorts Haumea's shape, making this dwarf planet look like a football.
It was nicknamed "Santa" because it was discovered after Christmas by one of its discovery teams.

It was discovered in 2004 by a team headed by Mike Brown of Caltech at the Palomar Observatory in the United States. It is a dwarf planet in the #Kuiper belt, a ring of bodies beyond Neptune. Solar System Dwarf Planets (Ceres, Haumea, Gonggong, Makemake, Eris, Quaoar, Orcus, Sedna, and Salacia)
While Ceres is in the Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter, the rear of the Dwarf Planets lie beyond Neptune, beyond Pluto, in the Kuiper Belt.
With the Dwarf Planets, I wanted to add in cultural aspects to their designs as the main planets are named after Greek/Roman mythological figures, the Dwarf Planets are more diverse.
With the exception of Salacia and her moon Actaea, all of these were drawn in November/December of 2023.
Also, why did the scientists have to give Ceres and Sedna their names when they don't have any moons? They're named after fertility goddesses. And Makemake's moon doesn't have a name! 😭😭😭
