My attempt to recreate my favorite dbd killer in Spore.
I made Starscream in Spore
Turns out spore didn't completely delete this guy on me!
Behold.. (mostly) accurate Swordsmachine, made in modded SPORE!
Had to remove a few parts so the game wouldn't crash upon me entering paint/test mode, but I'm pretty happy with how he turned out :)
+ bonus footage of this thing dancing
Playing SPORE's archetypes in-character! A while ago I wrote this for fun, and I really wanted to share it now, so, here it is with some improvements. SCIENTISTS • Be sociable with other empires as a means of studying them, but threaten total obliteration on literally anyone who demands tribute. Do a lot of quests, as that also counts towards your empire's goal of researching everything. Keeping to yourself is also a good idea, and do make friends with other scientists if possible.
SHAMANS • Be relatively nice to other empires, but take most or maybe all of their systems if they decide to piss you off considerably, just to send a message. Hand other empires tribute if they demand it, but only if it's a small amount. Mainly stick to yourself.
BARDS • Be as annoying as possible. Just kidding. Have as much fun as you possibly can! Do quests, go on adventures, strike up a good conversation with empires! Just be really uncomfortably friendly with everyone. Play the victim if you somehow start a war and go crying to another empire and pay them to decimate the other empire.
WARRIORS • Be a genocidal maniac. Destroy anyone who even mildly pisses you off, take whatever you want, break the galactic code, and just go totally NUTS. Only ally with other warriors.
WANDERERS • Just go with the flow. Wanderers are wanderers, and do anything they like. Ally people, commit war crimes, destroy planets, go scuttling around the galaxy, just do whatever- it doesn't matter. The universe is your playground.
KNIGHTS • Be kind to other empires, but don't hesitate to tear them apart at a moment's notice. Knights are the more genocidal version of shamans, and if someone even mildly pisses you off then threaten war. Don't destroy someone immediately however. Give them a chance first. If another empire demands tribute, be nice- but only for that one time, and sever any alliance afterwards. If it happens again, obliterate them. Starting unprovoked wars is highly frowned upon, and quests related to killing/abducting people from inhabited planets are to be declined.
ECOLOGISTS • Be relatively peaceful. Try your best not to start wars, and if you do, then get an ally to fight for you. Make friends, and prioritize nature-related missions (ecodisaster preventing, plant/animal gathering) and outright refuse any missions that involve killing things, unless it's to prevent an ecodisaster.
ZEALOTS • Hand over money to any other zealots if tribute is demanded. Anyone else will be threatened with war, and preferably avoid anyone who isn't a zealot. Be reluctant to do quests for other empires and decline quests with low sporebuck offers.
DIPLOMATS • Be peaceful. Even if it means allying with the grox. Try to salvage friendship by sending gifts and complimenting the other empire if a war is accidentally started, and just flee if they still hate you. Hostility of any form is a big no-no unless it's neccessary/forced. (ecodisasters, pirate raids on your planets or allied planets, etc)
TRADERS • MONEY. Do quests, tax runs, trade routes, and snatch every artifact you can find. MONEY!!!!! If a war is started, just leave them alone and mess around elsewhere. If trading with the Grox means getting a few thousand sporebucks, then so be it. MONEY!!!!!!!!!
various beasts of spore (2008)
tryin stuff with backgrounds !
The weirdness of all the Maxis creations is so fascinating to me… thank you so much for this I love more Spore knowledge
interestingly enough you can sometimes tell the maxis creations used some kind of editor trick to be made. this is not at all comprehensive and is just some instances i found
-
some circular ga buildings, such as Base Warnstripe, are just positioned around the circumference of the building editor dais
another example is Silo Wall Rim
-
Toomer's back lumps are made out of just a bunch of limb segments
here they all are moved apart. seems like theyre using the limb segment at the base of thighstrider and qopazcoatl and that
-
the Uranium Gun on Armored Lifter seems embedded deep inside of it, alongside the Ice Cubeds (detail part) around the tower thing
but theyre all just attached to a set of Cubbys (body part) hidden inside of the tower thing. one of them also holds the Plasma Duct that the gun visually comes out from

the grox spaceship has a some interesting kind of part arrangements. like it uses stretched The Lozengators rotated diagonally. but for the most part its actually rather straightforward
something more interesting is going on in Chronathaumic Hornet, which uses orbeds overlaid with other orbeds
the Lander Capsule at the front also seems to be rotated to add more spokes(?) to the front
and the bases of the big Crazaphone tubes are sneakly hidden by one of the squished orbeds, so you can barely see them
interestingly or funnily enough the base is just a grey and seems like it wasnt colored
though i color picked it and it uses the solid shiny paint and is also slightly darker than even the darker right grey on the colorpicker. so it looks more like they picked this deliberately. anyway this ufo actually does a lot of interesting things wow

back to buildings, you can also tell something like Chains was made by moving the detail parts with ctrl and shift, as theyre not attached to any other part, and will instantly sell themselves if you try to just click on them (without moving them onto some other part)
shift was also used to move these parts inside of the building block part
then theres some absurd buildings, like Stone Skull, which is largely composed out of building blocks, which is a body part and thus has limited rotation
you CAN rotate them like that in the vanilla game, but that requires placing them on connectors and then rotating those, and then moving the body parts afterwards with ctrl and shift can be kind of awkward at times
its also a LOT of parts to do this with. did maxis make the stone skull in a version of the building editor that had more rotation on these parts?
update to this i got frustrated with antifandom not working and switched to another breezewiki host
i found very helpful wiki pages
as far as i can tell from the description though this might be it!
Your captain drank too much soda and needs a rest stop...badly! Now enter a world beyond imagining...where none of the toilets work! Written by Tom Root.
and also what i found on the sporepedia. this is distinctly a desert planet
@azul1462
whatever man, you're a fake creator. you're not playing spore, you're playing something else entirely
i made this anon in spore [2008]
next time show your face
Bluebeard Drake
(Ostensibly) not named for its blue throat, but for its habit of decorating its nest with the bones of animals (and sometimes even other dragons) during courtship. Nesting dragons and young will chew on these bones, both for calcium and to wear their beaks down.
