Having thoughts about the potential dynamic between Nightmare and Paranoid.
Nightmare sees Paranoid as "her only friend". Like yes, she loves to see this little voice cower in fear and toy with her for the fun of it, but she's also a little impressed that the little voice has such strong willpower to stay alive (Everyone else would have just dropped dead in her presence). She longs for a companion to keep her company and perhaps set her free from her dark empty prison. So she sees Paranoid as the perfect candidate. Even though she can't stop endangering Paranoid's life (she is what she is after all), she grows very fond of her and tries to treat her nicely. She won't let anyone take her little bird away from her.
Meanwhile, Paranoid would be terrified of Nightmare, and rightfully so. Initially, she wants to do everything she can to either get rid of her or run away from her, but knows she can't do any of those options so easily. But the more she gets to know Nightmare, the more she begins to realize how sad and lonely she really is. She knows she can't stop this haunted doll and she certainly can't give in to her, so the most she can do to appease her is to give her the companionship she needs. And she finds out that despite her cruel demeanor, Nightmare is very playful and excitable, so she starts to feel less afraid of her.
(A plus would be that Paranoid has seen Nightmare's face behind the mask and is deeply traumatized by it...but thanks to that, she understands all the pain and suffering she had endured. Paranoid wants to make sure that no one else would have to see any of that...)

I will not elaborate
I've recently been thinking about how each voice would act in the chapters that they didn't appear in and I reached the same conclusion! Like I don't see Cold for example dying to her like that. So Paranoid might be one of the most helpful voices, but at the same time he kind of perpetuates the dangerous situations because of his fear (poor guy!)
random headcanon: Nightmare’s ability to stop your organs is dependant on how scared you are of her
this isn’t really based on the game, I just think it’s a neat addition to give her character, tho I could prolly make some argument about how us getting to understand and see her heart (no matter how painful it was) diminished the fear factor in MOC, or even that we were too tired to be all that afraid of her.
