IT’S TDDK LOVE LANGUAGES TIME!!!

Okay so shoto’s love language is definitely acts of service or sharing (does that even count as one?), whilst midoriya’s are words of affirmation and quality time. Hear me out here okay!! Shoto isn’t one to say something and not show it through his actions too. He even told that to midoriya when he tried bonding with Koda!! He shares his soba with izuku, when he’s upset and somewhat comforts him whilst doing too. And puts a blanket over him when he accidentally falls asleep while they’re studying or in the common room. Midoriya has always been good at connecting with people on a deep level, and can comfort someone easily. He connected with shoto during their battle and helped him with both his actions AND words!! So maybe it’s actually acts of service lmfao?? I can definitely imagine them being in the same room and not even doing anything together besides enjoying each other’s presence!! Like shoto’s studying /reading a book, whilst izuku’s watching a “new” all might video (he’s watched it 24242525 times already) or them training together to improve their quirks!! Just small and simple things to express how they feel about each other

I think I might actually be crazy, I can’t stop thinking abt tddk. They’ve infested my brain.

On another note though, I love how creative and unique the fanfics are!!! like wdym there’s a Kiki’s delivery AU, superstore AU, VOLTRON AU?!? And we can’t forget the coffee shop/musician AU’S.. god I love the tddk fandom

One thing I love about Tddk is how one sided it can be. Like??? Even in official arts todoroki is ALWAYS the one looking midoriya whilst his focus is on something or perhaps.. SOMEONE else!! I think we all know who it is. Imagine all the angst you can make??? Why do I almost never find one sided Tddk fics😞 okay maybe I am just the problem…

My favorite tddk hc or just a hc in general is that

izuku’s such a fast typer that almost all of his texts are unreadable. Especially when he’s excited!! And poor shoto’s having an aneurysm trying to decipher his messages😭

Does tddk even have a ship name??? Almost every ship has a name like, sparknotes, fast and furious, POPROCKS, soulfreckles, EVEN BAKUGO AND JIROU HAVE ONE??!?

I lwk like brain freeze as the ship name since midoriya is so smart, and well bc of todoroki’s quirk..

Another Hc I love is that Shoto loses control over his quirk when he’s flustered!! Like most people probably think he’s this nonchalant, aloof guy who never gets flustered/nervous.

But when he’s close to izuku??? You better believe he catches on fire, and the smoke alarm goes of all the time when midoriya’s in the vicinity. And midoriya’s completely oblivious to the actual reason why he’s always catching on fire and is worriedly trying to put the fire out. Which is making him even more flustered

It took them 3 years to get together. 3 WHOLE YEARS. Because they’re both oblivious idiots who can’t flirt or take a hint. (everyone thought they were already dating, including AM) and after pining after each other for so long, because they “didn’t want to ruin their friendship” Blah Blah Blah. Class 1-A hatches a plan to get them together. (They locked them in a room and forced them to confess)

To make this a bit sad izuku was extremely terrified of confessing to Shoto. Because he wasn’t expecting Shoto Todoroki, son of the number 1 hero, with such a promising future, and powerful quirk to like him back. Because he had never been confessed to or asked out except as a joke. A prank to humiliate and belittle him even more. As if the universe itself was punishing him more because being quirkless of all things wasn’t enough. He was used to being the butt of someone’s cruel joke, it’s happened more times than he can count. As girls and boys at Aldera high used to bet on who could get together with him first. And even though he pretended it didn’t bother him, it still stung. Which is why it hurt even more when he was shoved into a tight closet with the subject of his affection by his so called friends. He tried to play it cool, he really did, until he heard someone yell out that they needed to confesses their undying feelings for each other already! And when Shoto did confess, he could only look at him for a split second before laughing until he had tears in his eyes. Not because the joke was particularly funny, when you’ve heard it a hundred times before in a hundred different ways. No, these were tears concealed by a playful laugh he’s had to do more than a million times after another “confession”. How was he gullible enough to actually think for a second that shoto todoroki of all people would like him back?

Kids absolutely adore Izuku, as i hc he used to babysit/play with the neighborhood children before he moved into the dorms. He’s so good at making up games (especially hero themed ones) that they’ll never get bored. He knows just the right thing to say and is a comforting figure for little children.

Meanwhile Shoto gets so awkward around children. He ends up panicking and saying the most random things. Like they could be talking about the beach and suddenly he starts dropping whale facts mid conversation. And since he was so isolated as a child, he barely knows any of the typical children games. (Izuku played them with him once he found out) but that doesn’t mean some kids don’t like him, such as the quiet ones rather than the hyper active children.

Izuku is a morning person who wakes up at the ass crack of dawn everyday to train/run. Whilst shoto takes advantage of the fact that he doesn’t have to train as soon as the sun rises anymore and sleeps in as late possible (especially during the weekends) Which is why every morning when Izuku returns from his morning runs he finds a half asleep Shoto, with bed head he has yet to fix drinking tea amidst the chaos in the common room.

And so after taking a quick shower and putting on his uniform he makes his way back to the common room. Which is where he usually finds Shoto sitting on the couch on his phone waiting for him with the red and white hairstrands still mixed.

And so every morning an energetic izuku detangles the red and white strands apart for his barely conscious boyfriend, whilst said boyfriend fixes izuku’s poorly tied tie every morning.

You cannot tell me this ISN’T a date!!!!!! Why were iida and ochako CLEARLY spying on them if it wasn’t????

One thing I love about tddk fanfics is that no matter which AU it is they still manage to include the infamous “ITS YOURS NOT HIS” line.

It could be a simple coffee shop AU and suddenly Izuku’s changing the trajectory of Shoto’s life with that simple line??? (It’s not so simple to Shoto)

SHOTO/ 1-A GIRLS HC TIME!!!!

Once a month the girls have a sleepover. At first it was just a silly little idea to just relax and spend some time together outside of school. (even though they live in the same dorm lmao) Before it turned into something monthly. Every sleepover is held in one of the girls room, and every month they switch which room they sleep in. Just a typical sleepovers with LOTS of snacks, face masks, games, and gossip. Like who has a crush on who, lots of complaining about teachers/m*neta, truth or dare, never have I ever, Mario cart you know it.

And then one day Momo invites Shoto to one of their sleepovers which was held in her room. At first he was a confused as to why she would invite him to their sleepover, when they made it clear from the beginning that it was a boy free zone. Especially after kaminari and m*neta tried to sneak into one. But after a lot of pestering from momo he finally agreed, and it was not what he’d expected. (What could he really expect when he’s never been to one, let alone one that’s with girls?)

And from the moment he entered the room he was bombarbered with blankets, face mask, and nail polish. To say he was overwhelmed would be an understatement, as he turned to momo for help like he always did (after midoriya ofc) And so after a brief explanation he had Mina painting his left hand with red nail polish, whilst Hagakure was painting the other hand blue to “match with his quirk” as they said. And on the other hand they were all listening to Ochako and Mina gush about a love confession they saw during lunch. And how he brought his crush a whole bouquet of roses whilst singing and playing a romantic song on a guitar. He couldn’t pay much attention to the story when his mind was occupied with thoughts on when or if he could ever do something like that for izuku? When Hagakure suddenly let out a shriek and everyone turned towards them, but their eyes were on his hands..? Confused he looked down and yep, tooru’s whole hand was covered in ice and frozen like an ice block.

And so after a loooong interrogation he has about 10 different ways to confess to izuku. That is if he ever had the guts to do that. Though the talk (more like a questioning) with the girls really took a weight of his shoulders which he told them. and thus he was invited to the next sleepovers if he let them keep painting his nails each time.

Shoto Is rich, i mean he’s gotta be it if his dad is the (new) number one hero right?? And even though I think his love language is acts of service i wholeheartedly believe he loves spoiling izuku with gifts. It doesn’t matter if it’s big or small he will get it for izuku if he catches him staring for too long at an all might figure/Hero merch or if it’s something that reminds him of izuku when he’s out and about. And even though izuku’s tried convincing shoto not to buy him gifts all the time, he will still find a new gift waiting at his desk when he arrives at school once a week. Because shoto loves the even bigger smile that grows on izuku’s always smiling face when he sees the all might figurine from the mall at his desk, and the way he turns towards shoto with that same smile. And if that means he’ll have to blow his allowance every week, then so be it, if that means that smile is directed towards him.

One thing about tddk is that they’re so “you came.” And “you called.” Coded from that sound on TikTok. Shoto will literally drop EVERYTHING to make sure izuku’s safe. Like he’ll be in a city full of chaos because of nomu’s and izuku suddenly sends his location with no other message? He’s there. Izuku’s getting charged as a national criminal? He’s giving him tips on how to run away from the police. Izuku runs away from UA to protect everyone? He helps bring him back.

He’s always been there.
