When you're painfully aware the best portrayals of your favorite team are showcased in kinda niche side media (especially the manga and Masters) + a lot of more interesting details about them in-game are easily overlooked or missed.

Some casual sketches of the Team Flare Scientists (excluding Xerosic)!

These are some personal designs I made of what they would look like outside of their work. There could be some changes in the future as I develop them more, but I like the direction where it’s going!

Main reason why these even exist in the first place is because I made these “pre-evil” designs during the past era where Lysandre was a good person. It’s a personal HC of mine that these scientists (excluding Xerosic) have been working at Lysandre Labs since the beginning, so I’ve been exploring some ideas of their gradual change.

Some notes:

- Didn’t want Aliana to have helmet hair + her hair shape would’ve been similar to Celosia, so I changed it to be a bit messier

- Bryony looks like she got long-ish hair, but I’d imagine when she styles it for work it puffs up just like the in-game version

Wanted to try drawing the Team Flare girlies, but added in my own twist to their canon designs. Apologies to Xerosic fans, I'll get to him later (￣ ￣|||)

I used a lot more black here to represent their closer connection with Lysandre more. Made only some slight adjustments here and there, but I think it still emobodies the key elements in their canon fits.

I do plan on making full-on new designs for the XY stuff I've been writing privately. It just requires a lot of my braincells since they will be following a certain theme based on an idea I've been cooking up. But for now, please enjoy this piece!

Decided on a whim to redraw a frame from the Pokémon XY animatic i did 4 years ago about Lysandre! The new game announcement has me thinking about them again, and i couldn't resist a cheeky redraw :]

Pokemon XY was released nine years ago today. It's wild that it's been almost 10 years, where does the time go?

Was always sad this game never got a third version, it had a lot of potential and is my fave to replay since it feels like I'm always finding things they could have built on. (Also, check out this official art!)

This shoe will probably never drop with Sycamore because kids' game, but "Sycamore stop looking at the genocidal lunatic thru rose-colored glasses" challenge failed.

That said, I guess it's an improvement that he's being less indiscriminate there? 🤔

Text is:

1st board: "You find out your friend who lost it a bit 🤏 is on Pasio and stop his plan to blow up the island."

2nd board: "He does listen to you, relenting somewhat. Maybe rehabilitation is possible! 😁"

3rd and 4th board: "He just starts targeting and killing other villain grunts instead", along with Lysandre's "Farewell, you ugly, foolish humans" line.

Mable

Mable has been my favorite Team Flare member design, and I always wanted to imagine her without her visor, so I decided to use her visor color for her eyes.
