Encanto Bloopers I made up

Like my previous post, these were made slightly less than 2 years ago and posted on the Encanto wiki. Yes ik I'm being a bit lazy but whatever. So you remember when animated movies would sometimes have animated bloopers as a bonus? Well here's my take on an Encanto themed one.

Comedy isn't my best thing so I hope these are actually kinda funny.

After Antonio finishes his ride with Parce, his jaguar, Pepa and Félix run over to hug him. Meanwhile, Parce puts a little too much force on his hug with Agustín, causing both of them to fall over. "I'm alright!"

"Look, if I could help anymore I would but um...that's all I know. Good luck. I wish I could've seen more." "Yeah........Yeah!" Mirabel kicks the door open, instead of it simply opening, it came off the hinges. "Uhhh......We might need to repair that." Bruno tries to hide his laugh.

"Luisa, Dolores says you're totally freaking out. Any chance you know something about last night with the magic--" Luisa's eye twitches. "--YOU DO!" Mirabel slams the table but accidentally hits the rim of her plate, causing food to fly everywhere. "Everywhere" meaning mostly onto Pepa's face. Nobody, not even Pepa, couldn't help laughing.

Everyone's doing their choreography at the dinner table for "We Don't Talk About Bruno". Camilo, Félix and Agustín toss the glasses to each other. Agustín throws it a bit too far, making Camilo miss and the glass shatters on the floor. "Whoops." Mirabel's still watching in the background, chuckling. "What did I tell you? Papá's accident-prone."

Convincing Bruno for a vision-Take 2. "Yeah........Yeah!" Mirabel, once again, tries to kick the door open, but this time, Mirabel kicked a hole in the door. "We're never getting this scene done." Mirabel and Bruno both start laughing uncontrollably.

Mirabel was trying to talk to Dolores outside while she got breakfast. Behind her was Dolores and Félix. "Camilo! Stop pretending you’re Dolores so you can have seconds." Though, Dolores didn't shift back. "Camilo, uh, why aren't you shifting back?" Dolores couldn't hold it in anymore. She burst out laughing as "Dolores" behind Félix shifts into Camilo. "Yes! We finally got him!" They've tried for a long time to fool him. Félix gave an "of course they would do this" look and laughed.

CRACK! Mirabel quickly turns around while hiding the vision. "Tía jeez!" "Sorry, sorry I-I-I didn't mean to-shoo, shoo, sho-AH!" While Pepa was pushing her cloud out, she gave herself a slight shock. She's fine. "Mirabel consider yourself lucky you didn't get a gift." She was being half-witty half-serious.

Bruno, goofing off, said in a very causal tone, "Hey, when you save the Encanto come visit. Hey get outta here!" Bruno tried to even act "cool" by leaning on the painting door. The painting moved further causing Bruno to fall over. Mirabel tried to hold in her laughter.

"LOOK! It's Mr. Mariano! Hey you can marr-mar-maaughh!" "Hey you can mar-mar-marry, shoot!." "Hey you can marry my sister if you wanna. Buween. Buween? Great, I invented a new word! It's 'but' and 'between' mixed together." Isabela, Mariano and Mirabel all started to laugh at the newly invented word.

"But what's your gift?" Mirabel suddenly gets an accordion thrown at her, except she almost drops it. "Almost" as in, centimeters away from hitting the floor and breaking. "Ah! We're good! We're good!"

After the chaotic dinner, some of the family ran out of the dining room. "Abuela, please! There's got to be an explanation!" "I hate you!" "WAA I'M A LOSER!!" "Luisa-AHHH!!" Agustín slips on a puddle and lands face first. "What did you d-AH!" Pepa followed and tripped on Agustín. "Mamá? I think we need some arepas."

"Casita! Casita! Help me! Help me!" Mirabel looses grip and falls down the pit. Bruno runs over but fails to catch Mirabel's hand. "Ah! No, no, no!" Mirabel's fine. She said in a very dramatic tone, "Oh no! I'm falling to my death! Ahhhhh." Bruno couldn't hold in his laughter.

Mirabel is having her pep talk with Antonio under her bed. "You're gonna get your gift, and open that door, and it's gonna be the coolest, ever. I know it." Antonio stares blankly at her. "Wait what was my line?" He and Mirabel start laughing.

"Seven-foot frame, rats along his back!" Camilo shifts back-and-forth between himself and Bruno, while two rats appear on Camilo's back, except there's supposed to be three. "Wait, where's Carlos?" Antonio found him. "He's right here! He says he doesn't want to do it anymore." "What? How can he not want to do this?! This is the best part of the song!" Bruno walks in (without a mischievous grin). "Carlos, if you do this scene, you can have extra food for a week." "He says for two weeks." "Fine." "Okay, now he'll do it." Meanwhile Mirabel is giggling in the background. Who knew rats were good negotiators?

Right, random scenario time:

There is only enough coffee for one person to have a cup. Mirabel, as the early bird, was downstairs first and has claimed responsibility over it - and is refusing to let anyone have it because she thinks it would be unfair to the others.

How is everyone going to try to bribe, fight or whatever else to get it from her?

Apshajafhtks. Sooo...

Julieta and Luisa both are also pretty much early birds. But Julieta probably wouldn't care so we don't have to count her.

Luisa is physically the most capable, but Mirabel just gonna hide coffee where Luisa can't get through. But she would have some time to talk with Mirabel until the others had wake up. And as one of Mirabel's favourites, she had a pretty good chance to get it.

Pepa, once awake would definitely start a fight with Luisa. They both are crazily energetic/caffeine addicted and can windstand eachother's gifts so it would make a good combat over the coffee.

Then we have Camilo. Who's about to shapeshift so he could steal coffee for his Mamí, as the Mama's boy he is.

Isabela (if the coffee still here by this point) is definitely going to claim that as Café con leche drinker, she would get more of it with the addition of milk.

The rest of the Madrigals probably wouldn't care this much. Agustín and Félix would try to calm down Luisa and Pepa. Alma would question her family's mental state. Dolores would be like: "No bitches, I'm just gonna take it from someone else." Camilo, what did you do to your sister?

All of you song analysis

I said I was doing this, right?

First. I often heard people saying that Mirabel encouraging everyone to start rebuilding is a symbol of her having leader skills. Which I think isn't accurate. One of the things people ignore is context. Mirabel talked with her sisters and Abuela. It gave her more understanding of their struggles. Of why they all were victims in different way. That it was way more complex than just "Abuela is bad, we are suffering" To say Mirabel did encourage them, you have to ask a question. Wouldn't anybody else do the same in Mirabel's place? I think they would. In a different way sure, but person who had context would still be more open in trying to help. You need to asknowledge how the amount of information and points of viem gave Mirabel wider amount of the family situation.

Then comes another fact. Mirabel didn't start rebuilding either. Her entire talk was about her family specifically. Saying that everything will be fine and they will get through it. Mirabel's first verse is about the family solely, it doesn't touch anything related to rebuilding. She says look at this home, not at the house. And while they can be used as synonyms, Mirabel is clearly referring to her family. And how the toxic foundation of perfectionism and expectations was discovered and ruined. Not only that, but Mirabel actually STOPS Luisa from working. Not in a sense of "You shouldn't work" but in "You don't have to do this". Showing that they don't have to relate on family roles. As Luisa moving things was definitely caused by her gift and role that came with it. "You more than just your gift" is referring to everyone. But it was said to Luisa specifically, as a way to say that she doesn't have to be the strong one anymore.

There is no chance a teenager would be in charge of rebuilding. We're talking about a giant house. You need at least some form of qualification/a lot of knowledge that Mirabel clearly doesn't have. We know in fact that there's at least two Madrigals who has an expirience in building. Alma who helps with building a house in the beginning and observes how it's being made. And Luisa, while not mentioning anything before AOY in the movie, is being asked to repave the plaza in TOTS book. Which caused "AGAIN?" reaction, while it's not a house building, it's as close as we can get. And it is very likely she had at least some experience with building things too. Taking her gift Luisa had a good chance to build things earlier. And it's not even mentioning how she was the one to move debris first. Oh, and then we have Bruno who was patching the cracks.

Okay, I'm over with my "Mirabel didn't start rebuilding" agenda. Probably.

The songs starts with Mira assuring her family that everything is fine and they'll get thought it, no matter how bad it looks. "It may seem hopeless, but we'll get it by just fine." Not being loud and pushy, but way sublte and understanding. She doesn't say everything is fine right now, but that they'll get better together. She also asknowledge how her family isn't set in stone. Saying that constellation shifts she days that her family is changing too. In reaction to what happens around them.

Abuela also doesn't mention rebuilding. Instead, she prioritizes what she should had all along. Her family. "I'm sorry I hold on too tight" can mean many things. From Alma being controlling towards her family. But it also can hugely relate to how Alma held onto the miracle, magic and roles that came with it. Forcing her family to fall into a dysfunction. Confirming her fear of losing anyone ever again how she did with Pedro to the rest of her family. She is also the first to say that her family is special to nobody in particular unlike Mirabel. Confirming that they are miracle and not some magic. And also introducing Bruno(who was previously roasted for his gift) to the rest of the family.

Also an interesting fact that Bruno had probably heard his song. As his first action is to apologize to Pepa for something that happened years prior his departure. For one specific incident that was mentioned just recently. Which makes me wonder if he would've apologize to Isabela and Dolores too if he wasn't interrupted. Also showing that Bruno can take the blame and apologize when he had upset someone. And, he's also shown to work with the townspeople that blamed him during WDTAB. Which means he's either cleared things up with them like with Pepa or they weren't that pissed off all along. (Probably both)

The townspeople are being the ones who had actually start rebuilding. While not saying anything about it, the tools and their amount makes it clear. Firstly, it shows how grateful they are for all the service that was done to them in years ("We'll do anything for you!") And also being the second mention of actually working on Casita after Luisa. And also showing the family that they aren't alone in their trouble. Which is a good continue of Mirabel assuring that they'll get through it and Alma saying that they are all important even without their gifts.

The moment between three sisters shows that Isabela is the most talkative and outgoing out of three now that she doesn't hide who she really is. Being the first to start their united chorus and talk the most during it. "It's a dream when we work as a team" is a good showing that neither of them weren't close before. Being close was something they all could only dream of prior the thing. "Yeah, but sometimes I cry." can tell us that Luisa wasn't open with her emotions prior the movie and didn't collapse in tears before. As there would be no need to say that otherwise. "I might be not as strong but I'm getting wiser" tells how the family is growing up, realizing why the thing were bad before and how they need to change themselves and everyone. Isabela, again, reminds that she (and therefore the rest of the family) can do amazing things even without a gift. What interesting is that Mirabel doesn't have her personal lyrics but only sings with Isabela and the three older girls during the chorus. Showing how she's a huge listener and a support for them.

The verse with Julieta and Mirabel is very interesting. First, it shows how similar they are. Julieta was the one to heal physical injuries and Mirabel's actions were a start for the family's mental healing. "Starts don't shine, they burn" is being repeated. Which possibly tells us Julieta had learn about everyone's problems too. (Remember how I said about context that only Mirabel had?) And now knows how everyone was struggling too. "The constellation glows" says that the family is still wonderful, gifts or no gifts. Which took them some time to figure out, ("The season change in turn")

Doloriano verse shows how talkative and social Dolores can actually be if she's comfortable. Just look at her! The girl is so excited she can't shut for a second. But also patient and not as swift as Isabela (Who had embraced her new powers in WECID very fast). And we also see that Isabela and Dolores have a good relationship again! As Isabela is the one supporting Dolores with Mirabel. "Yes!" couldn't be happiness from getting out of marriage, as it would logically be broken by that time already. Isabela is genially happy for Dolores finally getting her boyfriend. Another interesting moment is how fast Mariano jumps onto Dolores. Almost instantly suggesting marriage. Which may hindsight that he loved Dolores' all along at least to some extent. (And, convindering how he always goes to help her in the books first, It can actually be the case)

We're getting to the emotional end!

"Home, sweet home. I like the new foundation." is a reprise of the first line of the song. Again, it seem like she's talking about Casita. (And it's actually very likely this time). But it also tells how the new family, who has grown up so much and healed is a far better foundation to a healthy dynamic. While still being imperfect. Which is okay. The Madrigals accept their flaws and how impossible the perfection is in reality.

The doorknob moment is vey important for one reason. Touching it is what gave them Magic. What made them "A Madrigal." And even if they don't have gifts now, it made Mirabel finally asknowledge herself as a part of the family. As one of the mighty Madrigals. It was the way the family told her. "You're one of us too. You're special the way we are."

And oh gosh, the lyrics! "We see how bright you burn." Is another the warm family referring to how starts burn according to Mirabel's own words. Again, also telling her how important she is, how she is special just like the rest of the family. Which, if you think of it, is very powerful. As they refer to the way Mira encouraged them. "We see how brave you've been!" says how much Mirabel had done to her family and how they appreciate it. Which is sung by both of her sisters, who were previously supported by her. "Now see yourself in turn" is a direct continuation. With family returning the favour and showing support that Mirabel needed so much. She showed them how important they are even without their gifts. Now they are showing how important she is. Gift or no gift. Telling her how she's the part of the family all along.

"Abre tus ojos." hits so hard. It was the first line in the movie. When Alma was shown to be very sweet with a toddler Mirabel prior her ceremony. And now returning back to this. Showing how better they are now, and how Alma appreciates Mirabel. Even without a gift.

And, oh, God! "I see me. All of me." Should I even tell anything. First, Mirabel finally asknowledge who she is. That she is loved, that she is special just like the rest of her family. This time for real. The whole song had repeatedly told us that everyone is special. (All of you). But the last words of it is MIRABEL saying "All of me." finally looking inside herself. It's not about the whole wide family anymore. It's about the only person who might've needed to hear it the most for years. Mirabel supported them all during the way, and now they are supporting her. And Mirabel gets a chance to see herself, the same way everyone else did, thanks to her. I will never tell enough of how symbolic/sweet it it. She doesn't need a gift, she doesn't need a magic role to be special for who is she just like the rest of her family

Isabela headcanons

Isabela Belén Rojas Madrigal. Born 7th of August 1928

Childhood

Was the golden child since her birth. Obviously, she wasn't forced into perfection since day one, but still was favourised for being the first grandchild.

Isabela said her first word when being babysat by Pepa and Bruno. Pepa called her brother "dumb". Isabela had repeated. (Can you tell me Pepa wasn't crying from how proud she was?)

Extremely stubborn. You couldn't make her stop if she wanted to do something. No matter how many candy you'd give her.

Used "I'm older so you should listen to me" card all the time. Especially when it came to her sisters.

Friendly teased Luisa for being younger. It didn't happen with Mirabel much because Isabela was busy exploring her cool new gift when she was born.

Was fascinated with flowers. Enjoyed making flower crowns even before getting her gift.

She was slowly rising in perfection even before Mirabel's ceremony. But it wasn't very obvious. Failed ceremony just made the process way faster.

Adult years (pre-movie)

Enjoyed reading about various plants. Could easily give advice about any plant. Did anyone used it? No

Actually pretty good in sport. Had won several award in school, mostly for gymnastics. Probably the second most sportive Madrigal after Luisa.

Made flower crowns manually in her room as a way to distract herself and calm down when she was overwhelmed.

Started to date Mariano because she didn't want to upset him or Abuela. Mariamo was the one to confess his feelings (ableit to his Abuela), Alma didn't set them up.

Had thoughts of running away several times to escape perfectionism and always felt guilty for it.

Started to have gray hair at the age of seventeen. Always styled her hair the way when it would be hidden. As Isabela thought it wasn't perfect

If she has to go on a date with Mariano, she'll try to get them to the meadow. There Isabela could at least withness a beautiful nature.

Disliked Mirabel because felt that her sister wad getting everything without an effort. And was jealous of the fact that their parents were closer to Mirabel. Isabela didn't realize the full extent of how her actions hurt Mirabel too.

Had nearly no relationship with Luisa, taking how busy they both were.

If anyone dared to misgender Dolores, even prior WECID, they would wake to see their house wrapped in roses. Thorns work just as good as cacti.

Post-movie

Changes her dress every odd day. Coloring it, cutting, whatever she can think off. Girl knows no consistence. Her favourite colour also changes constantly. Today it's sky blue, tomorrow will be green and yesterday it was gray.

Same goes for her hair. She regularly paints it. And don't forget glimmering silver! She doesn't hide it anymore.

Julieta cried when she saw Isabela having gray hair. Because it made her realize just how much she had grown up

Experiments with herself all the time. How else should she find herself?

It took her a while to get comfortable with showing her true self to people outside of the family. Sometimes she still wonders if others actually like her.

Grows avocado around just to add it to her food. She's allergic to avocado.

Adds milk to people's coffee just for the sake of it. Only drinks café con leche with an extreme amount of sugar.

The biggest drama queen you could meet.

The favourite niece to both Bruno and Pepa.

The most talkative and outgoing out of her sisters, won't shut up if you say a word about plants and will spend hours talking on it.

Protective. Will join Luisa on fighting whoever had insulted their sister/cousins. If not fight all by herself of course.

Relationship.

Alma: Has a bit hard time with her post-movie. Doesn't hate her grandmother and probably still close to her, but does have troubles with expressing herself to her for the first few years. Eventually gets over it and starts to show her messy side in all its beauty.

Pepa: They are very similar. Isabela adores her Tía. Pepa probably often joins to gossip with Isabela and Dolores. Both are emotional and very dramatic. Pepa also helps Isabela with expressing her emotions via plants with her gift. Same way the weather express her emotions. .

Bruno: Isabela likes her Tío. But feels awkward around him for the time being. The last time she saw him was when she was eleven. And he was barely socialising even back then.. She likes him. And Bruno seems to understand her pretty well, as he was the favourite back in his youth too. She probably the first one ut of grandkids to be comfortable around him.

Julieta: Likes her mother, but they aren't overall close. Isabela is an adult, and way more active and crazy than calm and responsible Julieta.

Agustín: Closer to her dad, expessially as she doesn't smell like flowers all the time anymore. But the thing of being an adult is still in work. It's easier to open up to her Tíos rather than to her parents.

Félix: Cool but pretty distant.

Dolores: Best friend since childhood™, gossip about everything. Isabela was the first person Dolores had confessed her feelings for Mariano after the engagement failed. Attached to the hip and together almost all the time. They were close even when both still were involved into the whole thing with Mariano.

Luisa: Grew closer as both became free from expectations. They like to tease eachother and playfully fight (which is usually Isabela trying to hit Luisa and Luisa blocking her). Isabela uses her muscles as a pillow whenever she wants. Luisa pays the favour by using Isabela as an armrest.

Camilo: Arguing and competitive relationship. Both are active for the sake of being messy. Probably will fight eachother just for the sake of it. Isabela was very jealous of Camilo and found him annoying pre-movie (even more than Mirabel). She still thinks Camilo is annoying but enjoys messing with him.

Mirabel: Now both are pretty cool. They still argue from time to time, but it's never even half as bad as it used to be. Mirabel encourages Isabela from time to time, and Isabela looks after her sister especially when Luisa's not around. Both try to make it up for all the problems in their relationship

Antonío: Wasn't close to him before, giving an age gap. Now adore spending time together as two the most passionate about nature. Isabela often takes Antonío out to show him wild outskirts where he can see many animals

Nicknames:

Isa (by Mirabel, Luisa, Dolores, Agustín and Felíx)

Bela (By Dolores, Luisa, Camilo, Julieta, Pepa, Alma and Bruno)

Hermanita (By Luisa when Isabela annoys her. Or when she wants to annoy Isabela)

(Links if you need: Isabela Luisa Mirabel

The family Madrigal

[Mirabel]

Uno

Dos

Tres

Cuatro!

This is our house, here's both older and very young

Live in a song and everyone has their own style

A famile, where each one of us, from granddaughter to grandmother

Need just a little effort for a miracle

Oh! In our family, Abuela is the leader!

Because she found once this place

Oh! In here year by year fortune is pleasing us

Oh! And I'll will finish it right now!

Here's for you is La Famillia Madrigal!

Here's Casita Madrigal!

Rush after us!

Everyone in here is born magically-fantastical

By the way, I'm also Madrigal!

[Townskids]

Look! Here are they!

Who have which gifts?

Oh, I don't remember everything!

[Mirabel]

Wait-wait, be quiet

[Townskids]

Which quiet can be today?

Tell us everything, what are you capable of

Tell us what everyone can do!

[Mirabel]

.... And that's why kids are not allowed to drink coffee

This is Tía Pepa, dictates wether to everyone

And the catastrophe is where the anger floods her over

And Tío Bruno (Not a word about Bruno!)

That's who foretell something

But he disappeared somewhere

Oh, and there's a talent in mommy Julieta too

Oh, her food is healing, praise to her!

Alll the illnesses are healing from work

Try a bit and you're healthy, she fixed everything! (Mom!)

Here's for you is La Famillia Madrigal!

Here's Casita Madrigal! Hey, free the way!

Even if I don't look magically-fantastical

But I'm, my friend, is the same Madrigal!

Here's boys loved daughters Madrigal

Casita Madrigal became their house

So uncle Félix had choosed Pepa, and my daddy (choosed) Julieta

That's how Abuela became grandmother Madrigal!

Come here, come here!

[Alma]

We're appearing everywhere for the miracle

To get the flame, bring it to the people

So every Casa will stand happy

In work for other the flame of the miracle won't slake

Can every generation protect the flame of the miracle

[Townskids]

Wait, who's the cousin and who is the sibling?

Now there's a lot of them?

How don't you confuse them?

[Mirabel]

That's all, that's all, that's all

The three generations have their owns tricks each

So just in time to tell about Grandkids' circle!

(Grandkids' circle)

Big-eared Dolores is irreplaceable in here

Camilo is changeable

Antonío will get a gift too!

And older sisters — Isabela and Luisa

Beauty and strenght is what their gifts are

(Isabela)

Every place brings flowers to her

(Isabela)

Everything is perfect in her

(Luisa, Luisa, Luisa!)

And there's a lot of strength in Luisa

And it's a great addition to the beauty

Alma: Everyone, get ready

Luisa: Coming, Abuela!

[Mirabel]

Because this is La Famillia Madrigal

Like they say La Casa Madrigal

Everyone is born in here magically fantastical

That's what La Casa Madrigal is

Adiós!

[Kids]

And what is your gift?

[Mirabel]

And that's how lives La Casa Madrigal

And I have already said who is the Madrigal in here

This is the tale of the family, not an autobiography!

Every Madrigal deserves attention!

(But what about Mirabel?)

We have Abuela and also Tía Pepa who makes the weather!

(But what about Mirabel?)

Mamá Julieta makes arepas for ours pleasure!

(What about Mirabel?)

Where's dad there's often problems

(What about Mirabel?)

If you want to, can about each of us, still sister and cousins are!

(Mirabel)

For example, Camilo jokes so sweet so you'll cry from laughter!

(Mirabel)

And our Dolores will feel what happens in here from everywhere!

(Mirabel!)

Or this young man is Mariano who wants our pretty girl, but the pretty girl is fooling everyone, but that's all about this, thank you I gotta go!

(Mirabel)

A powerful family!

(Mirabel)

The thing loses it's point!

(Mirabel!)

Mirabel!

I've seen some posts about "Mirabel is disobedient" and I really don't agree with it. So some of my own opinion/analysis of Mirabel's action. Just my own thinking. Not attacking anybody

The thing is. Mirabel actually DOES follow the rules that Alma had said to her specifically in the movie

Starting with

"The best way for some of us to help is to step aside".

It is the first direct appeal to Mirabel. Alma does not clarify what she meant by 'step aside' at this moment. And Mirabel's action pretty much show that she stopped helping at that moment. So we can see Mirabel leaving the preparation and going into her room. Which shows that Mirabel generally follows Abuela's rule. But what is coming next is the ceremony. Mirabel doesn't stand with the rest of her family but stays behind the curtains in the dark. Which is exactly what Alma had said, step aside, don't be near the family. Yes, she breaks this rule in the end. But this happens only because of Antonío (but let'sbe honest, who can blame her?). Which highlights that Mirabel is ready to go over her own guidelines if it means helping and defending people she cares about.

The breakfast is probably the scene that shows Mirabel not following rule the most. We don't know how the rules are in Madrigal family. But taking the facts, it is safe to assume that talking at the same time as Alma does can be concindered rude. So shows that Mirabel can be a bit forgettable and focus on her goal rather than what is going on in reality. Hovewer, we can also see that Mirabel stops after Alma's demand to do so. Allowing the rest of the scene to go even without her interruptions. So even in this small situation, Mirabel still clearly follows what Akma has said her to do.

"Stay away from Luisa."

Another rule that Mirabel easily follows. We can see her concerned. And taking Mirabel's passionate nature into account, I have no doubt Mirabel would want to check on her sister. But she doesn't. Yes, we can blame it on the fact that Mirabel was far more focused on the vision at the moment. And even when Alma is obviously far away and we can see Luisa struggling with a pot, Mirabel still doesn't aproach her sister to help. So staying away as she's supposed to.

So in general Mirabel followed all the rules said to her specifically. She did break some of them, specifically about Bruno. As entering Bruno's tower that's off-limits (only because Luisa said her to. And what's interesting, Mirabel describes Luisa as obedient in TOTS) And generally talking about Bruno. And even not talking about Bruno seems more as a principe. Alma isn't a dictator and she wouldn't force rules upon the whole Encanto. People just generally don't talk about him.

All other things that seem to cause problems weren't actual rules because of how specific they are. Finding an old vision, going into the walls and finding Bruno, talk with her family. Neither of this seems as something that would be forbidden. Either because it's too odd (Imagine a rule saying "Do not go into a hole hidden beihind the portrait and don't you dare to accidentally find your lost uncle") or just not something to be forbidden. (Banning family relationships lmao)

Each time Mirabel tries to simply agree and swallow her feeling or find an excuse and lie whenever she actually did something forbidden. Like entering Bruno's tower. Doing ot silently and clearly hiding. Which is an opposite of rebelling as it normally meant active protesting which Mirabel have never done until the argument scene. And let's be honest, if adds the climax so much.

And about that. It is the biggest moment when Mirabel finally opposes Alma. It can technically be concindered as breaking the rules, but we don't have any confirmation. In the very least occasion, same to the breakfast, it can be concindered rude to talk back to Alma. What's interesting, she looks at her sisters suggesting that she does it to defend them not thrown Alma off or for herself. Just the same all the way back in the Antonío's ceremony. Showing her kind and compassionate nature once again and the fact that Mirabel feels much more need to break the rules not for herself, but for offering support to her family.

So that's the thing. Mirabel wouldn't break rules for herself. Or try to argue. But if people she cares about need her — she will go against what she does normally

School in Encanto!

You all know it's time to headcanon!

The education in Encanto isn't essentially great. As it found by the bunch of refugees without good supplies.

Kids up to one-two years gap in age sometimes can be put in the same class. It mostly depends on how many children were born during this year. If there's just a few, they would be put with another class to save up space and people to educate them. It was especially evident in the early years. As for the first ten years or so childbirth had really low rate until the village had actually set.

In the opposite side, if too many kids were born in one year and class doesn't have enough supplie for them all, the eldest can be sometimes put into the older group, or yongest of generation can be put into younger.

Boys and gurls tend to be put in the opposite sides of the classroom.

The school does learn the basic of Arithmetics, Spanish. For History kids for the more part focused on learning about Latin America and Colombia specifically. Same goes for geography, which is hugely focused on Encanto as well. They do learn about other parts of the world too, but it's often shallow and doesn't get much attention. As living in a closed village with no exiting way out makes information about other climat types and geography relatively useless aside from general development.

For the bigger part, Encanto school is focused on practical skills for everyday use. Sewing, cooking, how to fix broken things or take care of the animals. It doesn't come to the professional level, but is solely enough to survive on their own even if their parents don't teach them anything (which they almost always do) as these are somethings you need to survive.

In general, school isn't obligatory, but is heavily encorauged to get your kids into. If for some reason kid doesn't go at school, they would be visited from time to time. To check their intellectual development. If it turns out they lack some basic knowledge, such as arithmetics, Latin America geography or a proper level of Spanish (and most others) they will be forced to visit classes.

A good shred of Catholic education too. Both at school and after Sunday service. Religion had important role in the time. And even outside from classes focused of in it, most time different aspects of reality are explained with Bible perspective.

Madrigal specifics headcanons

Gifted Madrigals are allowed to skip school when it comes to using their gifts to help the community. They are technically requested to complete tasks later. But most people just let them slide.

Isabela probably wasn't the best student in her time. Not essentially bad, but she was much interested in more stuff. Plus the pressure as the first born grandkid and the pretty Madrigal. Alma took her out of school in the last years to focus Isabela primarly on her future role as the leader of Encanto. Which Isabela was surprisingly good at, as she's a very natural leader. Also, Isabela sucks with deadlines. Hugely because of pressure to he perfect. She spends a tupid amount of time making a perfect cover/beginning and at the night before the dew day realises the has about two million more pages to write.

Dolores is far better than Isabela. More patient and reversed. And Dolores in generally smart. Her hearing also helps her with being observant of what the teacher is saying. However she definitely ruined lections several times. Just because she heard something interesting and couldn't keep her mouth shut about it. When Isabela left, Dolores pretty much stopped visiting most of lections/non-practical classes. However she still listened to them and kept the notes that she showed to her teacher so nobody concinderedered her as dropout. And if Dolores thinks today's topic is extremely interesting, it would be completely normal to see her sneaking in at the middle of lecture like there's nothing wrong with it.

Luisa is coming closer to Isabela. Pretty restless and prefers physical activity. Also you do know who would have the most chores to skip school. No, of course she wasn't absent completely, but it happened more often than with the other kids. But if Luisa locks in then she locks in and you will never pull her off the books. Also as complete opposite of her sister, Luisa is always going her homework exactly the same day. Workaholism doesn't like when she slacks off her responsibilities.

Camilo is extremely outgoing/social. Is definitely the type that comes in school to talk with his friends. And then it depends on who is in today and who is not. Also pretty restless but in more outgoing way than Luisa. Likes chatting a lot and definitely interrupts teacher a lot by accident. Would extremely take his sister/older cousins old assigments and copy them. He's honestly not a big fan of school so well.

Mirabel is considered the most talented student among the grandkids. Which she usually dismisses as not a big achievement, feels that because she never has to miss anything to help the communituy she will be privileged here. She really overdoes it to make up for the lack of gift she has, tends.to perfectionism the same way Isabela was. Only that Mirabel actually spends her time correctly and it's all decent and not rushed everywhere. Plus, Mirabel is very observant and patient, which also makes her get many clues and understand the pattern of the things she learns simular to Dolores. Secretly enjoys when teachers are praising her as it's one of the little amount of attention she gets, especially being noticed by someone outside of her family.
