They don't even use all those things. Items that some people throw in the trash (as soon as it goes out of fashion) will be picked up by others, those who are lower. And then you can try to pass it off as something expensive, creating new absurd trends.

And who provides resources for all these unnecessary furniture? right, poor districts.

thinking about this, modern maximalism wherever you go in the capitol. buying a lot of everything and displaying it in your home as a sign of rich ownership, even if all you've got is only a studio apartment. everything in bright colours, repainted often, second hand furniture being a really popular market. trends as circles so people hop onto things from 20 years ago in hopes it becomes the next big hit.

tiny living homes of people wanting to make it, full to the brink with abstract art they don't bother looking at, truly, and books sorted by colours that have never been read. a television far too big holding on a golden sideboard, covered in magazines purchased by a nearby kiosk.

even rich people fill their homes with a ton of decoration, the shapes meaningless reproductions of reproductions, art having lost their meaning.
