thinking about this, modern maximalism wherever you go in the capitol. buying a lot of everything and displaying it in your home as a sign of rich ownership, even if all you've got is only a studio apartment. everything in bright colours, repainted often, second hand furniture being a really popular market. trends as circles so people hop onto things from 20 years ago in hopes it becomes the next big hit.

tiny living homes of people wanting to make it, full to the brink with abstract art they don't bother looking at, truly, and books sorted by colours that have never been read. a television far too big holding on a golden sideboard, covered in magazines purchased by a nearby kiosk.

even rich people fill their homes with a ton of decoration, the shapes meaningless reproductions of reproductions, art having lost their meaning.

I know I talk about mdzs modern AUs a lot, but it's just somehow become a fascinating adaptation process to me, all these people making their personal calls about the nature of reality.

And a thing I keep coming back to is all the people who deliberately decide to give modern!wwx Mo Xuanyu's build.

guys… GUYS… i think kalina DID get cassandra killed on purpose. but not the way the ih are thinking. kalina is cassandra’s familiar so her alignment at any time matches cassandra’s, if cassandra is good then kalina is good. when cassandra was the nightmare king, kalina was evil and did a bunch of evil shit. she was also bound by the spies tongue curse to not be able to tell anyone about this evil shit… INCLUDING cassandra. cassandra comes back and kalina is good again! but oh no! she remembers all the evil shit she did (indicated by the fact that she remembered kristen) AND she’s still bound by the spies tongue curse. so she has to find a way to save ankarna all on her own.

cassandra. she knew cassandra still loved ankarna and would do anything to protect her. she knew ankarna was in the astral plane. she was trying to push cassandra to go there to find ankarna so ankarna (who was not bound by the spies tongue curse) could tell her what was going on! but it wasn’t going to be that easy. she had to let cassandra die, knowing that kristen was more competent than she looked, and believing in her because cassandra believes in her.

trusting that when the bad kids figured this out and saved ankarna (and they would, they defeated her after all) that kristen would still believe strongly enough to figure out a way to bring cassandra back.

ever since I watched 'lily sunder has some regrets' again I haven't been able to stop thinking about the angel magic she was using to gain powers and stay alive. so I've been thinking, what if after they defeat Chuck, Dean becomes obsessed w learning more about angels in general in hopes to find something that would help him bring Cas back and in the moment of desperation he remembers about Lily. So he tracks down the manuscripts she's been using and once he is confident he's fluent in enochian, casts the spell. And like magic, Cas is there standing in front of him, in flesh, and he is saying something but Dean cannot hear him. First he thinks it's because he is overwhelmed by seeing Cas back but when he says Cas' name out loud but cannot hear his own voice either, he understands that he's hearing is gone. Just like with Lily, he knew using magic came at a cost and he'd be burning off his soul. So he just reaches out and pulls Cas into a tight hug and prays to him 'I missed you' and 'You can have me' and 'I love you, Castiel'

When days later he manages to signs 'beer' perfectly an gets a thumbs up from Eileen, a beer from Sam, and a kiss from Cas, he once again thinks that he made the right choice. (and maybe Cas can't heal his hearing but he can hear his prayers and turns out can speak inside Dean's mind, which, interestingly makes the sex better than any other sex Dean has had. Or maybe that's just because he is in love with Cas)

so we’ve received confirmation that the protocol universe is directly connected to the archives universe right? because we learned that celia is the same celia from the post-change cult. she was in one of the domains, forgot who she was, was rescued, and somehow ended up in the protocol universe

so we know that the plan at the end of tma was to banish the fears to another universe(s). because jon was losing more and more of his humanity towards the end, it was unclear what would happen to him. even the characters acknowledged this

i know archivist is jon is a very popular theory and that’s what i’m getting into here

it’s unclear where jon fell on the human/monster spectrum at the end of tma. a lot of people depict him as having turned into a fully fledged monster

what if that monster is the archivist we see in protocol

and when martin stabbed him, it sent him to the protocol universe. too much of him was part of the eye by that point, so it only makes sense that when the fears were sent away, he was as well

so that’s how he ended up in the protocol universe. but now he’s back in the archives universe. the fears now exist in that universe again

what is going to happen now?????

I love the idea of Merlin's magic being sentient and completely thirsty for Arthur! 😂

And Merlin himself isn't any less thirsty, he just has a better understanding of what's socially acceptable. His magic isn't quite on board with the idea that it's considered rude to take some of your crush's blood and mix it with pure magic to create a new soul as an offspring.
