Lightning McQueen angst like maybe after Doc died he visits his grave every father day but he has a race on that day and he comes in second and Francisco wants to rubs it in his face but Lightning crying not cause of the race but because he missed Doc please

A n g s t- It's been a hot second since I've written any angst- but here ya go!

The phone rang. Droning on and on until Lightning couldn't take it anymore and picked up his phone in a fit of blinding frustration and tears.

'San Fransisco'

Great, just what he needed today, some Italian loud mouth to come and insult him and his racing skills.

Doc's racing skills.

God damn it, why did it have to be today of all days? Which also so happened to be the day he completely butchered a win and ended up in second? A day that always reminded him of the man that raised him more than his biological father ever had?

Fuck, Doc was probably rolling in his grave right now at the embarrassing performance Lightning showed today using his moves. What did Doc ever see in him?

Sniffling a couple of times to clear his sinuses, Lightning wiped his eyes and for some reason ended up pressing the green phone icon and placed the phone up to his ear.

"What do you want?" Lightning questioned, trying to make his voice sound stronger than it was.

The laughter from the other side of the phone filled the empty, dark space Lightning had holed himself up in.

"Ah! McQueen! Francesco was thinking you were still sulking from your second placement today and would not answer this call,"

McQueen stared angrily downwards, his free hand gripping tighter onto a medium sized photo as more tears began to build behind his eyes. "Did you really call me at seven in the morning just to insult me? That's just lame,"

He ignored how his voice trembled as he spoke.

Francesco hummed annoyingly into the speaker. "Lame is-a not what Francesco would call himself. Especially since I am a morning person unlike you, McQueen. Who obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning when you came in second,"

Tears began to stream down Lightning's face. His breath caught in his throat and he nearly choked but he didn't, he just sat there in the dark confines of his trailer, clutching onto the old photo of him and Doc that he had taken out the back of his phone case.

"McQueen? Did you hang up on me? Francesco is not one to be hung up on,"

"Are you done?" McQueen finally said, not being able to hold back the crack in his voice.

There was a pause on Francesco's end, like a moment of processing for the idiot.

Eventually, Francesco spoke again. "Lightning, are you alright?"

Tearing the phone away from his ear, Lightning yelled out in frustration, in agony, in pain, in grief, in everything. He ended the call with the tap of the red phone icon and threw his mobile across the dark trailer, listening to it strike the far end of the room with a sharp crack.

He probably broke the damn thing.

He didn't care.

Bowing his head, he clutched onto the old photo of him and Doc in both hands, letting his tears fall freely as he sobbed to no one.

Somewhere in the background, his broken phone rang and buzzed, making all sorts of sounds. Voicemails were left, texts were by the dozen, and missed calls shot through the roof.

But it was all ignored.

Mafuyu's mom. Mafuyu's FUCKING MOM oh my god guys

How the fuck did they make such a good character (in terms of like, fleshing out not like, good morality wise) out of someone we haven't seen or heard for almost 2 and a half years. But boy Sega got the point across. I'm glad they painted her mom in such a dark light so we understand how bad her mom is. Really went "show not tell" without showing what Ms Asahina looks like.

But anyway oh jesus she's terrifying. Just the manipulation and judgment and control in everything she says. It's like she's disguising herself, pretending not to be a monster. It's also the fact her mind is so twisted that she thinks what she's doing is right.

And the fucking way she just casually tells Kanade "to think about her future and not regret it"

Chills.

Also, the fact she's been guilt tripping her daughter since Mafuyu was probably around seven is just so fucked up.

Another thing I wanted to add was how Mafuyu and Kanade we're both affected by "the coldness"

Like, it's no wonder Mafuyu is the way she is with Ms Asahina crushing any idea of what Mafuyu wants to be or likes. Any idea of Mafuyu being her own person seemed to be almost immediately crushed right from the get-go.

And the fact Kanade felt it from only being with Mafuyu's mom for a little while... honestly she's scary. She sucks yes, but she's scary and she holds more technical power over Mafuyu then nightcord does because of her position as Mafuyu's mother. Nightcord can't really do like, a lot to physically help Mafuyu because her mom's word is final.

But Mafuyu is slowly starting to break out of the hold her mom has on her, and this is such a perfect build up to her next focus event.

Anyway sorry this is bad I just wanted to express whatever this was
