Even after he got locked up in Juvie and met up with you the moment he could see you again, it felt like he never left.

Everything always feels natural with Rindou. You never have anything to hide and neither does he. So many nights spent talking about your personal lives, so many days wandering off to wherever his motorcycle takes the both of you and talking about your dreams. Rindou was an active criminal (still is), but he never made you feel in danger. He made you feel safe. And it always felt like you were the only people that could really see and understand each other. That’s why you’re best friends.😊

Best friends, is what you always refer to each other as. I mean he is your best friend and you’re his. You always have each other’s backs. Like when he beat up one of your ex boyfriends for verbally abusing you and cheating on you, when you confronted a psychotic girl he used to date cuz she was trying to cause something horrible to Rindou because he broke up with her, when he taught you self defense after you gossiped to him about some guy trying to stalk you (he dealt with him right after), when you would defend Rindou’s name when other people would talk shit about him and his brother when they know nothing. And of course, doing what best friends are for, supporting each other through hard times. There was never a moment you failed each other in a time of need. 🫂

Best friends is what you always refer to each other as, even when there were clear moments of flirting between one other. Even after Rindou first told you he loves you and you told him you love him too. Best friends, is what you always refer to each other as after you’d become lovers for a good while before having to break it off due to something that simply got in the way. Most of the time it was because his gang would get into conflict and he didn’t want you to possibly be involved. ☹️

You were always good after breaking off. No hard feelings. You’re somehow able to work platonically and romantically. No ones ever seen that before so it was definitely odd to others but it wasn’t to you two. That was the cycle you had as best friends. Be normal besties, then flirt, date, then life gets in the way and break up. But you were both cool with each other because none of you did anything wrong. Especially Rindou. Rindou never did anything wrong. Yes you two did have arguments sometimes but it wasn’t anything jeopardizing, it would just be normal couple disagreements and you always made up in the end because you’re both understanding and able to come to an agreement. Now you’re in your apartment, sitting by the window looking at the view…missing Rindou. He disappeared a few years ago. You didn’t know why until the news started talking about that criminal organization, Bonten. It wasn’t hard to connect the dots. You know he’s part of it with his older brother.

A tear falls from your face as you remember all your memories with him. The moments you’d share that flirty eye contact in social gatherings, the moments he’d hug and kiss you like you were something precious to protect, the moments he’d call you beautiful with so much honesty and love in his deep voice that was music to your ears, the moments you’d get into silly trouble together and run away from a security guard because you trespassed, the moments you’d laugh til you both cried, the moments you’d hold hands while looking up at the night sky, and you remember how he never looked at you with lustful intent. Only love. You never felt like you needed to have sex with him to satisfy him, you never felt like you needed to send provocative images of yourself to him, you never felt like you needed to change because Rindou Haitani made you feel like a diamond. 💎

No other guy made you feel the way Rindou made you feel. Most of them were all snobs only wanting one thing from you. Some just didn’t meet your standards. It was so hard to move on when all you’re looking for is Rindou, your best friend. Yup, you still refer to him as your best friend. He’ll always be your best friend even when you’re not in each other’s lives now. You can’t think of him as a stranger. You hope he feels the same way and it makes you wish you hated him. Yet you wish to see him one day and start over again. Feel that magic just one more time and this time it can go right. Nothing will get in the way. Just one more time. You wish on the same star every single night. Just one more time.

You sigh when you feel stupid for wishing for that. But you can’t help it. He’s special to you. You’re special to him too, you just don’t know it but, you can feel it. Rindou never stopped missing you. He looks up at the same star you do. Wishing for one more shot. He wants to make it right this time. He’s willing to make it right this time. You’re the woman he wants to be with for the rest of his life, but just how will he get his best friend back? Rindou thinks about you day and night. He wants to see you again, He needs to see you again. He will see you again.

Your friends are all moved on with their lives, always talking about how happy they are with their soon to be husbands. You support them with a smile but inside you want to cry. You want to move on but you can’t. Rindou can’t leave your mind. Why couldn’t he have treated you badly? why couldn’t he have cheated on you? Why couldn’t he have just done something horrible to you so you can move on? Why did he have to be so perfect? My god….

That gets on your fuckin nerves. Sometimes you wonder how you became friends with him. It’s like he spawned from mid air and you two just became friends🤷‍♀️

You always had the same classes together in school and he was always in trouble. Always. You’re surprised he was never expelled. He’s just suspended majority of the time and would come back as if he never got in trouble for beating some kid up in the hallway for looking at him wrong. Rindou also likes getting people in trouble by riling them up to yell insane profanities when the principal would walk by. He’s such a shitbag. A dreamy one. ✨

Clearly his most favorite person to bother is you with how much he distracts you in class when he’s bored out of his mind. You’d feel a tiny poke of a pencil behind your shoulder and he’d whisper:

“Move your big ass head I can’t see”

“How about you sit up instead of slouching, hump back”

This would always start the quiet bickering in the back of the classroom which always lead you both to getting in trouble for not paying attention to the lesson. Rindou laughs seeing how you glare at him, especially when he does that childish “ooooo” when you’re called to the main office. Or the times during gym class when he scares the shit out of you by randomly slam dunking a basketball right by you. Or the times he disturbs your beauty sleep by blasting a new track he made outside your window all because you weren’t answering his texts that were asking about what notes he missed when he was suspended. Rindou gives you a headache sometimes but he’s actually really sweet and smart. He has your back when someone bothers you and handles whoever decided to piss you off. He really does study the notes you give him, you can tell by how well he does on tests. And throughout all the years you’ve known him, he’s never crossed you. He just likes annoying your ass. 😭

Sometimes your girlfriends tease you about him, singing that stupid song from elementary school about kissing in a tree. You always said he’s just a friend. And he is. You and Rindou have never done anything more than what friends do at all. You two just come off closer to an outsider point of view but really, you’re normal friends that have looked out for each other. Even after you pinch the shit out of his ear for shaking your soda when you’re not looking so it can splash all over your face. You’re so comfortable with Rindou, you never saw him as more than a friend.

That is until he started talking about a girl he was interested in. You didn’t know why you felt bothered when he told you he started talkin with a girl. It made your heart sink as you realized what you were feeling. Jealousy. But you couldn’t show that. As a best friend, you supported him and feigned excitement for him. It’s not like he couldn’t pull girls. Rindou had hella girls swooning over him left and right and could have any of them if he wanted to. But he never did. You don’t know why.

Rindou’s reason: he’s always wanted you. Well not always. His feelings for you were confusing. He found himself in love with you some days then get scared and gaslight himself into thinking he’s only interested in you because you’re the only girl he really knows. It’d only work for a few hours though and soon enough he was right back to accepting he’s in love with you. But he never sensed that you felt the same way. He’s spoken to Ran about it and of course his big brother’s advice was to move on and not lose sleep over it. So, that’s what he did. Rindou just decided to click on a random girl’s name in his dms and respond to her, starting something new. It felt nice. The only downside to moving on from his crush on you was how he kept having dreams about dating you. It was like the universe was toying with him and it pissed him off.🙂‍↕️

Your nights have become quiet and it’s odd not having Rindou bother you at late hours. Now it was a blessing for you to not be jumpscared out of your sleep but you missed the way he would randomly appear at your place. As you rest in your bed, you start remembering the features you love about him. How beautiful his violet eyes are and his perfect his smile with those gorgeous white teeth. The way he leans back, rolling to his side when he’s having a really good laugh. The way he is so sweet to you when you need a good friend to listen to your words. You find that his intelligence (street wise and academically) is the most attractive to you and you love the way he’d look so focused during your study sessions. Sure Rindou has his many moments of getting on your damn nerves but he’s never actually made you upset. You giggle to yourself thinking about the recent events of your bickering. I’m screwed. You think to yourself. Screwed.🤦‍♀️

You pick up your phone and smile seeing Rindou’s name but the look on your face quickly drops reading his text.

I just recently got sick so bad that I begged my bf to not leave me for work. Makes me wonder what would Kanto and Bonten Mikey do in the same scenario. I feel like both of them would either tell their darling to suck it up because he can't be bothered by such trivial things or they'll soften because it's the first time his darling clung to him so hard and he'll just baby and take care of her the whole day (or maybe bring her to work bc he has major meetings stuff)

With Kanto!Mikey, if you were too get extremely sick, he'd have people take care of you until he was done with his meetings, then he'd come back and while he might not be the best emotionally available person too give you support or really take care of you, because he was often being the one who was taken care of, I do think he'd lay with you, it not only gives him time too rest but it also allows him too be with you at the same time. I don't think he'd mind, as long as you're not constantly sneezing or coughing on him, because I don't really feel like Mikey would be one too get sick that often, I picture him too have a pretty strong immune system.

Bonten!Mikey on the other hand, you'd be with him, mostly, 24/7. I say mostly because the only time you can't be with him is when he has too leave the penthouse, it'd be a bad idea too drag you out when you're sick afterall. While he's in his office, he'd have you sit on his lap, occasionally playing with your hair when he needs a break from the extensive paperwork, or he'll let you take a nap on the couch in his office, curled up in a blanket that he has specifically for when you want too nap in his office when he stays late. He wouldn't want too be away from you most of the time, especially if you're really sick, sure he has people that could take care of you, but he'd rather do it himself, even if he's not the best at it.
