Shoto Todoroki - Morse Code

Sho always tapped his fingers against his desk. You thought nothing of it, chalking it up to a nervous habit or something he did out of boredom. But recently, you had decided to learn morse code. It was a random urge really, you weren’t quite sure where it came from, but you did it, learning little by little in the little free time you had over the past few weeks.
You were mostly always swamped with homework and doing hero work via your provisional hero license. The other free time you had, you usually spent with your boyfriend Shoto, cuddling as he caught you up to speed with what you’ve missed in class due to being out heroing, as well as talking about your new favorite theories. His current favorite theory was Shinso Hitoshi being Aizawa and Present Mic’s love child.
Currently, you and Sho were in the common room of your dorm, eating breakfast. You were rather excited to tell Sho about mastering morse code, but everytime you tried, you were somehow not so rudely interrupted by one of your classmates talking about something else.
Finally, you were all on your way to class, the loud food induced chatter settling down to quiet yawns and tired grumbles. Your hand was intertwined with your boyfriend’s as you walked to class. Just as you were about to tell him about learning morse code, you figured no one would interrupt you this time. You were wrong. What you could only assume was a caffeine fueled Midoriya was practically bouncing off the walls, asking everyone about any recent modifications to their hero suits and impacts on their quirks. You wondered when the last time was that the poor boy had slept.
Once you and Shoto reached the door, you decided to tap out a quick “I love you” to the back of his hand, before you had to untwine your fingers and separate from each other to get to your seats, which luckily were pretty close.
“I love you too.” Shoto responded out loud mindlessly.
Both of you froze. You just stood there. Looking at each other in complete and utter shock.
“You know morse code??” You both questioned the other at the same time.
After a slight arguement about who was to explain first, Sho told you how he and his sibling use it to trash talk his father and to talk to his siblings when his father tried isolating him, Fuyumi and Natsuo originally came up with it for Touya but never got to use it with him. Giving him a hug for confort, you told him how you’d learned it just recently on a whim. Before you could converse any further, Denki and Jirou called the Aizawa alarm and you all had to get to your seats. There was a small smile on his face as he walked back to his seat, that went unnoticed by you.
As class went on, you heard Shoto’s familiar pattern of tapping, the way he did every class. Except now, you realized, it had a meaning. ‘I’m bored. I wish I could just ditch and go cuddle Y/n’. You had to hold in a gasp at that as your heart melted slightly, everyday Sho had been tapping that out, other varieties of that as well. And you had no idea until today. ‘Sho we can’t just ditch class’, you tapped back. He turned slightly to look at you, a pleasantly surprised smile adorning his handsome features.
‘Yeah but this stuff is easy and cuddling is more fun’. You could almost hear his voice saying it in a matter of fact tone. ‘Not everyone is top of the class like you Sho.” You responded playfully. You two went on talking to each other for the rest of class. Most of it was about random things, like when Sho reiterated how similar Aizawa and Shinso look, with their eyebags and smile and such. You really loved him, every single thing about him.
Aizawa didn’t notice somehow, but that was probably because your taps were quiet since the two of you didn’t sit that far apart. Or maybe you two were just oblivious to his glares, floating off into your own world until he’d given up with a shake of his head. Problem children.
‘I love you’
‘I love you too’
Learning morse code was a pretty good decision huh?

In the serene ambience of Todoroki’s bedroom, the night is soundless — save for the cadenced thrumming of your boyfriend’s heart and ticking clock hands that send you slowly drifting off into a deep slumber.
Yet your eyelids still fail to droop, having tried everything from counting sheep to playing relaxing music on your phone. A shallow breath of exasperation slips through the gaps in your teeth as you snuggle into Todoroki’s left side, curling your body into a ball while huddling close to the male for warmth. Just as the drowsiness hits, a strained groan echoes; staring at your boyfriend’s fluttering eyelashes, guilt strikes you the moment you realise how you’ve waken him up in the middle of two o’clock in the morning when both of you still need to attend hero training courses later during the day.
“Wha’s wron’ y/n? Can’t sleep?” Nodding, you stifle a yawn. Groggily reaching out his hand, your boyfriend‘s fingers dance delicately across the expanse of your frigid skin, conjuring goosebumps here and there under the pale rays of moonlight which cast waltzing shadows on the wall. As he nuzzles you closer to the left side of his chest, comfort seeps through your veins, and you relax into his touch.
Todoroki has always been averse to touch, given his brutal upbringing — but not when you are the one in his arms. A surge of relief (and perhaps a tinge of pride) gives him reassurance when the hero in training observes how you react to his minuscule touches from time to time, realising how much you actually enjoy being in his presence — and vice versa.
With mismatched eyes glancing over your relaxed features, a toothless grin ghosts across Todoroki’s face; under the faint lustre of dwindling moonlight, you look otherworldly: beautiful and intricate — an instant that he would do whatever it takes to relish forever. Slowly, the male reaches out his hand, running the tips of his fingers through your bedraggled hair with ultimate delicacy while a lullaby slips from his pursed lips.
“I didn’ know you can sing Shou ...” Todoroki stops, frozen as you peer at him groggily through impenetrable tenebrosity. Instinctively he averts his gaze away; and even though darkness blankets the room, you still manage to discern the obvious blush dusting the male’s cheeks.
“N-not like I’m laughing at you or anything! Keep ... keep singing, I quite like it.”
“You ... you sure?”
“Mm. Let’s stay like this ... for a while.”
Knowing that he can never say no to your wishes, the two of you lay amongst the tangled sheets, dozing off into each other’s arms. It is the most peaceful moment you’ve ever felt in your entire life. No more worries about tomorrow, no more concerns about the future; just you and him holding one another in close proximity, sharing such intimate moments of tranquility — with the two of you wishing to hold onto it for a lifetime.
Shoto calling you a good girl while he thrusts up into you as you’re straddled against his lap.

-I feel like before Todoroki began to attend UA ( and in the beginning of his time there ) he was a really picky eater since I think Endeavour would limit his food options. But, once he made some friends they convinced him to try a lot of new things and now his pallet is very diverse. -He's terrible at texting and uses a bunch of slang in the wrong ways. He'll also send messages like: "Lol! 🤣😂" -Todoroki doesn't understand other people's sarcasm the slightest, flirting or some metaphors. You could tell him to go break a leg and he'd just look at you like: 🙁 -But somehow he's also incredibly sassy without even knowing it. -He also sucks at saying tongue twisters. -Todoroki is really indecisive and will probably internally panic if someone asks him what he wants to do.

-During the winter, Asui clings to Todoroki's left side for warmth so she doesn't go into hibernation depending on how cold it is at the moment. -Uraraka and Todoroki like to go grocery shopping together for the dormitories. -He has some trouble understanding the few things Kaminari or Ashido say, but can barely understand Utsushimi the second she speaks.

-Todoroki's love language is probably words of affirmation: -He won't hesitate to praise you or mention if he was impressed by your skills during training because he knows how it feels to not receive the attention you deserve for your accomplishments. -He'd text you 'I love you' before going to sleep just to reassure you of his feelings. -When he found out you were flirting with him the whole time he was honestly shocked and apologized for not realizing sooner. -Todoroki will sometimes slip little notes into your lockers with something motivational on it. There might be a little flower like a baby breath attached to it every once in awhile.
